| 2 | A pilot phase Ⅱ study of neoadjuvant triplet chemotherapy regimen in patients with locally advanced resectable colon cancer显示文摘Objective: This study aims to investigate the feasibility, safety and efficacy of triplet regimen of neoadjuvant chemotherapy in patients with locally advanced resectable colon cancer.Methods: Patients with clinical stage IIIb colon cancer received a perioperative triple chemotherapy regimen(oxaliplatin 85 mg/m2 and irinotecan 150 mg/m2, combined with folinic acid 200 mg, 5-fluorouracil 500 mg bolus and then 2,400 mg/m2 by 44 h infusion or capecitabine 1 g/m2 or S-1 40–60 mg b.i.d orally d 1–10, repeated at 2-week intervals) for 4 cycles. Complete mesocolic excision was scheduled 2–6 weeks after completion of neoadjuvant treatment and followed by a further 6 cycles of FOLFOXIRI or XELOX. Primary outcome measures of this stage II trial were feasibility, safety, tolerance and efficacy of neoadjuvant treatment.Results: All 23 patients received neoadjuvant chemotherapy and underwent surgery. Twenty-one patients(91.3%) had reductions in tumor volume after neoadjuvant treatment, and 13 patients(56.5%) had grade 3–4toxicity. No patients had severe complications from surgery. | 4 | The effects of autophagy on vascular endothelial cells induced by airborne PM2.5显示文摘The purpose of this study was to examine the direct toxicity of PM2.5 collected from Beijing on human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVEC). A Cell Counting Kit 8(CCK8) assay demonstrated that PM2.5 exposure decreased the proliferation of HUVECs in a dosedependent manner. We also found that PM2.5 exposure induced autophagy in HUVECs, as evidenced by:(1) an increased number of double-membrane vesicles;(2) enhanced conversion and punctuation of the microtubule-associated protein light chain 3(LC3); and(3) decreased levels of the selective autophagy substrate p62 in a time-dependent manner.Furthermore, promoting autophagy in PM2.5-exposed HUVECs with rapamycin increased the cell survival rate, whereas inhibiting autophagy via 3-methyladenine significantly decreased cell survival. These results demonstrate that PM2.5 exposure can induce cytotoxicity and autophagy in HUVECs and that autophagy play a protective role against PM2.5-induced cytotoxicity. | 9 | Investigation of natural ventilation performance of large space circular coal storage dome显示文摘Large space circular coal storage dome(LSCCSD)offers an environmental and dependable alternative to open stockpiles,and it has been consequently widely applied in China.However,due to the lack of scientific guidelines,its natural ventilation performance is lower than expected.Natural ventilation potential strongly depends on the roof geometry and opening mode,which have not yet been investigated for LSCCSD.This paper presents a detailed evaluation of the impact of dome geometry(rise span ratio),opening height,and opening modes on the ventilation performance of LSCCSD.The evaluation is based on computational fluid dynamics(CFD)methods and is validated by available wind tunnel testing.We employed three evaluation indicators,which are wind pressure coefficient,effective ventilation rate,and wind speed ratio.The results demonstrate that the rise span ratio has a significant effect on the wind pressure difference and the effective ventilation rate increases by approximately 9%–42%with a single-annular opening.When double-annular openings are set in a strong positive pressure zone,the effective ventilation rate increases by 100%and the average wind speed ratio increases by 50%.When it is compared with single one with similar opening height,the effective ventilation rate increases by 25%.The optimum natural ventilation performance for LSCCSD is achieved at a rise span ratio of 0.37.In addition,the lateral middle opening is kept higher than the ridge top of the coal pile.The proposed evaluation approach and design parameters provided instructive information in the building design and ventilation control for LSCCSDs. | Yaohua Hou Chao Chen Yu Zhou Zhixiang Yang Shen Wei | 2021 | Building Simulation2021,14,4: | 4 |
| 10 | The provenance of Gansu Group in Longxi region and implications for tectonics and paleoclimate显示文摘The Neogene sediments of Gansu Group from northwestern China contain eolian and fluvial deposits.The origins of these sediments are very important for exploring the onset of Asian inland aridification,the pattern of paleo-atmospheric circulation,and the regional tectonics and geomorphic evolution during the Miocene.Here we present detrital-zircon age spectra of typical eolian and fluvial deposits from highlands and subsidence basin,and compare them with those of surrounding eroded mountain(such as the West Qinling Mountains and Liupan Mountains)materials and Quaternary loess derived from the Asian inlands.The results reveal that(1)the detrital-zircon age spectrum of the Miocene eolian sample is remarkably different from the eroded materials of the West Qinling Mountains and the Miocene fluvial deposits from Tianshui region,but very similar to the Quaternary loess deposits.This indicates that the provenance of Miocene eolian sediments is similar with the Quaternary loess,and thus further confirms the previous conclusions that the distribution of Asian arid lands and the pattern of atmospheric circulation during the Miocene are broadly similar with the Quaternary.(2)The detrital-zircon age spectrum of the fluvial deposits(with age about 11.5 Ma)from Tianshui region is different from the eroded materials of West Qinling Mountains,but similar with that of the Liupan Mountains to the east,which may suggest that the Liupan Mountains have already been exhumed by11.5 Ma. | LIANG MeiYan WANG ZhiXiang ZHOU Sen ZONG KeQing HU ZhaoChu | 2014 | Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,6: | 4 |
| 11 | Effects of climate,land use and land cover changes on soil loss in the Three Gorges Reservoir area,China显示文摘Climate,land use and land cover(LULC)changes are among the primary driving forces of soil loss.Decoupling their effects can help in understanding the magnitude and trend of soil loss in response to human activities and ecosystem management.Here,the RUSLE model was applied to estimate the spatial-temporal variations of soil loss rate in the Three Gorges Reservoir(TGR)area during 2001-2015,followed by a scenario design to decouple the effects of climate and LULC changes.The results showed that increasing rainfall generated as much as 2.90×10^(7)t soil loss in the TGR area.However,such effect was offset by changes in LULC particularly afforestation,which retained about 1.10×10^(7)t soil annually.Other human activities such as dam development and urbanization aggravated soil loss by as much as 1.40×10^(6)t annually.Because of land use policies that favor economic development,distinct spatial variances of soil loss were observed in TGR area.Soil loss in some counties located downstream of the TGR area(i.e.,close to the dam)was more influenced by dam development,but soil loss in the other counties was more influenced by urbanization.As climate change(i.e.,increasing rainfall)did not affect plant performance in TGR area,our findings suggested that ecological restoration was more beneficial to curb the amount of soil loss caused by urbanization and dam construction. | Chunbo Huang Zhixiang Zhou Mingjun Teng Changguang Wu Pengcheng Wang | 2020 | Geography and Sustainability2020,1,3: | 3 |
| 12 | Fluorination-substitution effect on all-small-molecule organic solar cells显示文摘Due to the strong crystallinity and anisotropy of small molecules, matched molecular photoelectric properties and morphologies between small molecules and non-fullerene acceptors are especially important in all-small-molecule organic solar cells(OSCs).Introducing fluorine atoms has been proved as an effective strategy to achieve a high device performance through tuning molecular energy levels, absorption and assembly properties. Herein, we designed a novel benzodithiophene-based small molecule donor BDTF-CA with deep highest occupied molecular orbital(HOMO) energy level. All-small-molecule OSCs were fabricated by combing non-fullerene acceptor IDIC with different fluorine-atom numbers. Two or four fluorine atoms were introduced to the end-capped acceptor of IDIC, which are named as IDIC-2 F and IDIC-4 F, respectively. With the increase of fluorination from IDIC to IDIC-4 F, the open circuit voltage(Voc) of the devices decreased, while hole and electron mobilities of the active layers increased by one order of magnitude. | 16 | A-π-D-π-A small-molecule donors with different end alkyl chains obtain different morphologies in organic solar cells显示文摘For bulk-heterojunction organic solar cells, the morphology of the blend films highly influence the exciton dissociation and charge transport process. In this work, two novel A-π-D-π-A(A represents the acceptor unit and D represents the donor unit) backbone structure small molecular electron donors based on two dimensional conjugated naphtho[1,2-b:5,6-b']dithiophene(NDT) with different end alkyl chains, named as NDT-3T-EH and NDT-3T-O, have been designed and synthesized. The photovoltaic property of NDT-3T-O-based device is better than that of the NDT-3T-EH and the best efficiency reaches 7.06%, and the photovoltaic property of NDT-3T-EH reaches 6.11%. The difference in the performance should be attributed to the different morphology and phase separation resulted from the different crystallinity and aggregation ability of two donors.
