| 2 | Study of the Optimization and Adjustment ofthe IndustrialStructure Subjected to Water Resource in the Drainage Area of the Yellow River显示文摘Since the 1990s, the Yellow River stream has been temporarily interrupted for several years, which affects the development of society, the economy and human life, limits the economic potential of the drainage areas, and especially causes great harm to regions on the lower reaches. Based on the analysis of the relationship between the development of society and economy and water scarcity, the author thinks it is necessary to optimize and adjust the industrial structure that has extravagantly consumed enormous amounts of water, and to develop ecological agriculture, industry and tourism which are balanced with the ecological environment. | 3 | Three-point bending fracture characteristics of bulk metallic glasses显示文摘This paper presents the SEM micrographs for the three-point bending fracture surfaces of Zr-based, Ce-based and Mg-based bulk metallic glasses (BMGs), which show the dimple structures in the three kinds of BMGs. The shapes of the giant plastic deformation domain on the fracture surface are similar but the sizes are different. The fracture toughness KC and the dimple structure size of the Zr-based BMG are both the largest, and those of the Mg-based BMG are the smallest. The fracture toughness KC and the dimple structure size of the Ce-based BMG are between those of the Zr-based and the Mg-based BMG. | 4 | Identification of a novel multifunctional oxidosqualene cyclase from Zea mays sheds light on the biosynthetic pathway of three pentacyclic triterpenoids显示文摘Zea mays(maize)is an important agricultural crop that produces a variety of valuable terpenoids,including several triterpenoids.However,no oxidosqualene cyclase(OSC)enzymes,which catalyze the first step in triterpenoid biosynthesis,have been identified in maize.Here,we identified a novel OSC(ZmOSC1)in maize using a combination of genomic mining and phylogenetic analyses.To functionally characterize the candidate OSC,we constructed a yeast strain that produced high levels of 2,3-oxidosqualene.When ZmOSC1 was expressed in this strain,three compounds were detected and identified as hop-17(21)-en-3-ol,hopenol B and simiarenol,respectively.For their biosynthesis,we proposed a potential cyclization mechanism catalyzed by ZmOSC1 via the generation of a dammarenyl cation,followed by sequential cationic ring expansion,cyclization,cationic migration and further proton elimination.This study discovered and characterized an OSC from maize for the first time,and laid a foundation to produce three bioactive pentacyclic triterpenes,hop-17(21)-en-3-ol,hopenol B and simiarenol,using synthetic biology approaches. | Zhenjun Fan Yan Wang Chengshuai Yang Zhihua Zhou Pingping Wang Xing Yan | 2022 | Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology2022,7,4: | 0 |
