3Lithospheric seismic fabrics of Sulu ultrahigh-pressure metamorphic belt显示文摘Calibration of seismic reflectors appearing in the crust of the Chinese continent sci- entific drilling site can be completed through the correlation studies between direct evidences, such as the drill cores, and geophysical signatures; therefore the interpretation of geophysical data could produce reliable results of crustal structure and composition. On the other hand, there are two Cenozoic volcanoes close to the scientific drilling site; analyzing composition of xenoliths existent in the volcanoes and evaluating their seismic velocities can also offer information about the mantle and lower crust. After the calibration via cores and well-logging data, the seismic re- flectors appearing in the UHP belt can be caused by lithological changes within the UHP rock slice, ductile shearing rock-suites, and later fracture zones. Among these sources, ductile shearing resulted in displacement and detachment of original rock-sheets, producing some rock-interbeds of several hundred meters thick that are named the ductile shearing rock-suites. A suite consists of mylonized gneiss and eclogite slices that underwent shearing, becoming the major mechanism responsible to generate regional strong reflections. The UHP rock-slice is characterized by complicated structures and high density, high seismic velocity and high electri- cal resistivity, its thickness is usually less than 11 km. Velocity and density of the gneiss-layer beneath gradually tend to normal with increasing depth. Based on the xenoliths we can infer that the middle crust contains a lot of gneisses, and the lower crust consists of different granulites. The lithospheric mantle has multi-layer structures and consists mainly of spinal lherzolite and harzburgite, implying late Mesozoic lithospheric thinning. The seismic fabrics with different ori- gins were possible products of different geodynamic processes. For instance, the UHP rock-slice was produced by the UHP metamorphic process and the exhumation of subducted supercrustal rocks after the Triassic collision between the Yangtze and Sino-Korean cratons; whilst the ductile shearing rock-suites resulted from shearing deformation processes during the subduction and exhumation. The normal velocity below the UHP rock-slice was correlated with Mesozoic exten- sion processes in the area. 4High strength and ductility Mg-8Gd-3Y-0.5Zr alloy with bimodal structure and nano-precipitates显示文摘To resolve the strength-ductility trade-off problem for high-strength Mg alloys,we prepared a high performance Mg-8Gd-3Y-0.5 Zr(wt%)alloy with yield strength of 371 MPa,ultimate tensile strength of 419MPa and elongation of 15.8%.The processing route involves extrusion,pre-deformation and aging,which leads to a bimodal structure and nano-precipitates.Back-stress originated from the deformationincompatibility in the bimodal-structure alloy can improve ductility.In addition,dislocation density in coarse grains increased during the pre-deformation strain of 2%,and the dislocations in coarse grains can promote the formation of chain-like nano-precipitates during aging treatment.The chain-like nanoprecipitates can act as barriers for dislocations slip and the existing mobile dislocations enable good ductility.Xiaoxiao Wei Li Jin Fenghua Wang Jing Li Nan Ye Zhenyan Zhang Jie Dong 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,44,9:9
5Evidence of vacuolar compartmentalization of arsenic in the hyperaccumulator Pteris vittata显示文摘Pteris vittata can hyperaccumulate arsenic (As) to >1% of its dry weight without showing any signs of toxicity, indicating the existence of effective plant-internal detoxification mechanisms. Although vacuolar compartmentalization is known to play an important role in heavy metal detoxification and tolerance, direct evidence of arsenic compartmentalization in this hyperaccumulator was lacking. Here we report the subcellular localization of As in the callus of P. vittata. The callus induced from gametophytes of P. vittata exposed to 0.2 mmol/L arsenate for 20 days were examined by directly isolating cell walls, protoplasts and vacuoles, and determining arsenic concentrations. Of the total As in the callus, about 94% was in the protoplast, and of that, 91% was present in the vacuoles, indicating that vacuoles are a major storage site for As in P. vittata. 6Time-varying fault-tolerant formation tracking based cooperative control and guidance for multiple cruise missile systems under actuator failures and directed topologies显示文摘This paper studies time-varying fault-tolerant formation tracking problems for the multiple cruise missile system under directed topologies subjected to actuator failures. Firstly, the timevarying fault-tolerant formation tracking process for the multiple cruise missile system is divided into the guidance loop and the control loop. Then protocols are constructed to accomplish distributed fault-tolerant formation tracking in the guidance loop with the adaptive updating mechanism, in the condition where neither the knowledge about actuator malfunctions nor any global information of the communication topology remains available. Moreover, sufficient conditions to accomplish formation tracking are presented, and it is shown that the multiple cruise missile system can carry on the predefined time-varying fault-tolerant control (FTC) formation tracking through the active disturbances rejection controller (ADRC) and the proportion integration (PI) controller by the way of the fault-tolerant protocol utilizing the designed strategies, in the event of actuator failures. 7Geothermal measurements in the pilot-boreholes of the China Continental Scientific Drilling显示文摘The geothermal measurements in the pilot-boreholes of the China Continental Scientific Drilling (CCSD) indicate that the temperature gradients in the target area of the deep drilling range from 19 to 26℃/km, which is lower than that (25-30℃/km) for the global continental area and similar to that for the KTB (21-28℃/km). Thermal conductivity measurements for 44 core samples show that the ultra-high pressure (UHP) metamorphic rocks have 50% higher thermal conductivity (with a mean of 3.94±1.26 W/mK) than that for the average value of the upper crust. The measured heat flow values vary between 76 and 80 mW/m2, higher than that for the global continental area (65±1.6 mW/m2) and the continental China (61±15.5mW/m2) as well as the adjacent North Jiangsu Basin (68 mW/m2), butlower than that below 1000 m in the KTB (85 mW/m2). 9Effects of soaking process on arsenic and other mineral elements in brown rice显示文摘One of the main food crops in the world,rice can accumulate high levels of arsenic from flooded paddy soils,which seriously threatens human health.Soaking,a common processing method for brown rice products,especially for brown rice noodles,was investigated in this study.Japonica rice(Dao Hua Xiang No.2)and Indica rice(Ye Xiang You No.3)were selected for studying the effects of soaking on arsenic concentrations,species,and distributions.Results revealed that soaking can efficiently remove arsenic in these two rice varieties,and the main part of removal is endosperm with the maximal rate of about 40%.Inorganic arsenic(I-As)(about 85%)is the main species of arsenic reduction.Meanwhile,the variations of four other elements(i.e.,Mg,Ca,Zn,and Fe)were analyzed.Collectively,the findings of this study indicate that soaking can efficiently remove arsenic in brown rice under controlled soaking conditions,which thereby reduces the arsenic intake for brown rice customers.Fan Zhang Fengying Gu Huili Yan Zhenyan He Bolun Wang Hao Liu Tingting Yang Feng Wang 2020Food Science and Human Wellness2020,9,2:5
10FUNCTIONAL CHARACTERIZATION OF CADMIUM-RESPONSIVE GARLIC GENE ASMT2B: A NEW MEMBER OF METALLOTHIONEIN FAMILY显示文摘A new gene of metallothionein (MT) family was cloned from garlic (Allium sativum) seed-lings using RACE method and designated AsMT2b. The full length of AsMT2b cDNA was 520 bp encod-ing 80 amino acids. The deduced amino acids of AsMT2b showed that AsMT2b contained the char-acteristic structure of type 2 MT proteins, but the number and arrangement of the cysteine residues in the N- and C-terminal domains was different from other type 2 MT proteins. Semi-quantitative reverse transcriptase-PCR showed that transcript levels of AsMT2b were enhanced only in response to higher concentrations or longer incubation time of Cd. Such an expression pattern of AsMT2b greatly differed from that of other type 2 MT genes. Yeast cells transformed with this gene had improved resistance to Cd. AsMT2b overexpressing Arabidopsis showed stronger Cd tolerance and higher Cd accumulation compared with wild-type plants. 11Distribution and their pollution assessment of heavy metals in the sediments of the Yalu River Estuary and its adjacent coastal waters显示文摘The present paper deals with the distribution patterns of heavy metals and the associated influencing factors in the Yalu River Estuary and its adjacent coastal waters.Based upon the analysis of the surficial and core sediments measurements,the pollution of heavy metal and potential ecological risk were evaluated.The burial flux and contents of heavy metals(except for copper) have been continuously increasing since the 1920s.Therefore,the gross potential ecological risk for the sedi-ments was high or very high,and the study area was endangered by heavy metals contamination.Heavy metals originated mainly from upstream pollutant input,correlation analysis showed that chromium,nickel,zinc,cadmium,lead,arsenic,and mercury in the sediments of the middle and west channels as well as the sea area of the western Yalu River Estuary concentrations were most probably derived from similar sources.In contrast,the metal of copper most probably originated from sources different from the other metals.Preliminary studies indicate that copper contamination was most likely the result of emission from mining activities situated at the upstream of the river.The contents of heavy metals in the sediments of estuarine turbidity maximum zone of Yalu River were larger than those of any other areas in the middle channel.With large portion of fine sediments,weaker hydrodynamics,and richer sources of heavy metals,the sediments of the west channel,were even more enriched with heavy metals than those of the middle channel.GAO Jianhua LI Jun Wang Harry V WANG Yaping WANG Zhenyan BAI Fenglong GAO Shu CHENG Yan 2009Acta Oceanologica Sinica2009,28,6:4
12Pollutant toxicology with respect to microalgae and cyanobacteria显示文摘Microalgae and cyanobacteria are fundamental components of aquatic ecosystems.Pollution in aquatic environment is a worldwide problem.Toxicological research on microalgae and cyanobacteria can help to establish a solid foundation for aquatic ecotoxicological assessments.Algae and cyanobacteria occupy a large proportion of the biomass in aquatic environments;thus,their toxicological responses have been investigated extensively.However,the depth of toxic mechanisms and breadth of toxicological investigations need to be improved.While existing pollutants are being discharged into the environment daily,new ones are also being produced continuously.As a result,the phenomenon of water pollution has become unprecedentedly complex.In this review,we summarize the latest findings on five kinds of aquatic pollutants,namely,metals,nanomaterials,pesticides,pharmaceutical and personal care products(PPCPs),and persistent organic pollutants(POPs).Further,we present information on emerging pollutants such as graphene,microplastics,and ionic liquids.Efforts in studying the toxicological effects of pollutants on microalgae and cyanobacteria must be increased in order to better predict the potential risks posed by these materials to aquatic ecosystems as well as human health.Tao Lu Qi Zhang Zhenyan Zhang Baolan Hu Jianmeng Chen Jun Chen Haifeng Qian 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,1:4
13Dietary Leucine Requirement for Juvenile Large Yellow Croaker Pseudosciaena crocea (Richardson,1846)显示文摘Dietary leucine requirement for juvenile large yellow croaker, Pseudosciaena crocea Richardson 1846 (initial body weight 6.0 g±0.1 g) was determined using dose-response method.Six isonitogenous (crude protein 43%) and isoenergetic (19 kJ g-1) practical diets containing six levels of leucine (Diets 1-6) ranging from 1.23% to 4.80% (dry matter) were made at about 0.7% increment of leucine.Equal amino acid nitrogen was maintained by replacing leucine with glutamic acid.Triplicate groups of 60 individuals were fed to apparent satiation by hand twice daily (05:00 and 17:30).The water temperature was 26-32℃, salinity 26-30 and dissolved oxygen approximately 7 mg L-1 during the experimental period.Final weight (FW) of large yellow croaker initially increased with increasing level of dietary leucine but then decreased at further higher level of leucine.The highest FW was obtained in fish fed diet with 3.30% Leucine (Diet 4).FW of fish fed the diet with 4.80% Leucine (Diet 6) was significantly lower than those fed Diet 4.However, no significant differences were observed between the other dietary treatments.Feed efficiency (FE) and whole body composition were independent of dietary leucine contents (P>0.05).The results indicated that leucine was essential for growth of juvenile large yellow croaker.On the basis of FW, the optimum dietary leucine requirement for juvenile large yellow croaker was estimated to be 2.92% of dry matter (6.79% of dietary protein).LI Yan AI Qinghui MAI Kangsen XU Wei CHENG Zhenyan HE Zhigang 2010Journal of Ocean University of China2010,9,4:4
14Acupuncture for cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury Does it reduce the inflammatory reaction?显示文摘BACKGROUND:Nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB), intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1), and vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1) in brain tissue can participate in inflammatory reactions after cerebral ischemia.Acupuncture treatment for acute cerebral ischemia produces abnormal protein expression.OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effects of acupuncture on NF-κB, ICAM-1, and VCAM-1 mRNA and protein expression in the brain tissue of rats with cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury.DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING:Randomized, controlled, animal experiments were performed at the Laboratory of Department of Neurosurgery, Xiangya Hospital, Central South University, China between December 2008 and October 2009.MATERIALS:Rabbit anti-NF-κB polyclonal antibody, rabbit anti-ICAM-1 polyclonal antibody, and rabbit anti-VCAM-1 polyclonal antibody were purchased from Santa Cruz Biotechnology, USA.METHODS:A total of 46 healthy, Sprague Dawley rats were randomly assigned to sham surgery (n=10), model (n=12), acupuncture pretreatment (n=12), and acupuncture intervention (n=12) groups.Models of middle cerebral artery occlusion were established by right common carotid artery ligation.In the acupuncture pretreatment group, rats received acupuncture for 3 consecutive days, and then models were established.In the acupuncture intervention group, rats received acupuncture for 3 consecutive days at Waiguan (SJ 5), Sanyinjiao (SP 6), and Dazhui (DU 14) acupoints following model establishment.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Somatosensory asymmetry and forelimb use asymmetry were tested, as well as NF-κB, ICAM-1, and VCAM-1 mRNA and protein expression in the frontal and parietal cortex at 4, 12, 24, 48 and 72 hours following cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury.RESULTS:Acupuncture improved neurological function and significantly decreased NF-κB, ICAM-1, and VCAM-1 mRNA and protein expression in the frontal and parietal cortex of rats with cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury (P<0.05).CONCLUSION:Acupuncture can improve neurological function, potentially via inhibition of NF-κB, ICAM-1, and VCAM-1 mRNA and protein expression in the frontal and parietal cortex of rats with cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury.Zhenyan Li Guangwei Zhong Sujuan Huang Yunsheng Liu Sue Wang Wei Li 2010Neural Regeneration Research2010,5,14:4
15Analysis of the mass of behind-armor debris generated by RHA subjected to normal penetration of variable cross-section EFP显示文摘Analyzing the mass of behind-armor debris (BAD) generated by Rolled Homogeneous Armor (RHA) subjected to normal penetration of variable cross-section Explosively Formed Projectile (EFP) is the purpose of this paper. So theoretical analysis, numerical simulation and experimental data are combined to analyze the influence of variable cross-section characteristic on the time history of crater radius. Moreover the relationships between time history of crater radius (as well as mass of BAD) and the thickness of RHA (from 30mm to 70 mm) and the impact velocity of EFP (1650 m/s to 1860 m/s) are also investigated. 16Properties of coarse particles in suspended particulate matter of the North Yellow Sea during summer显示文摘Fine particles in seawater commonly form large porous aggregates. Aggregate density and settling velocity determine the behavior of this suspended particulate matter(SPM) within the water column.However, few studies of aggregate particles over a continental shelf have been undertaken. In our case study, properties of aggregate particles, including size and composition, over the continental shelf of the North Yellow Sea were investigated. During a scienti?c cruise in July 2016, in situ ef fective particle size distributions of SPM at 10 stations were measured, while temperature and turbidity measurements and samples of water were obtained from surface, middle, and bottom layers. Dispersed and inorganic particle size distributions were determined in the laboratory. The in situ SPM was divided into(1) small particles(<32 μm),(2) medium particles(32–256 μm) and(3) large particles(>256 μm). Large particles and medium particles dominated the total volume concentrations(VCs) of in situ SPM. After dispersion, the VCs of medium particles decreased to low values(<0.1 μL/L). The VCs of large particles in the surface and middle layers also decreased markedly, although they had higher peak values(0.1–1 μL/L). This suggests that almost all in situ medium particles and some large particles were aggregated, while other large particles were single particles. Correlation analysis showed that primary particles <32 μm in?uenced the formation of these aggregates. Microscopic examination revealed that these aggregates consisted of both organic and inorganic ?ne particles, while large particles were mucus-bound organic aggregates or individual plankton.The vertical distribution of coarser particles was clearly related to water strati?cation. Generally, medium aggregate particles were dominant in SPM of the bottom layer. 17Physical oceanography of the Caroline M4 seamount in the tropical Western Pacific Ocean in summer 2017显示文摘Physical oceanography plays an important role in the formation of submarine sediments,and the distribution of nutriments and biocenoses in seamounts.The M4 seamount is located in the Caroline Island Ridge of the Western Pacific Ocean.The physical properties around M4 seamount are preliminarily analyzed based on the in-situ data obtained in summer 2017 in Caroline M4 seamount and open-sourced data.We found that the water in the upper 200 m is controlled by the westward North Equatorial Current(NEC),while the water between 300-1000 m is dominated by the eastward North Equatorial Undercurrent(NEUC).The current direction fluctuates significantly below 300 m at upstream stations.At the same depth of the lee sides,the current direction changes with the distance from seamount.These are likely caused by the obstacle of M4 seamount.The calculation results show that there is an anticyclonic cap above M4 seamount caused by tidal rectification.Tidal currents in M4 seamount are squeezed by the topography and amplified,and the amplified tidal currents play a dominant role in M4 seamount.First,the circulation system generated by the interaction of the amplified tidal current and M4 seamount drives the upward/downward movement of the isotherms.Secondly,the thickness of the surface turbulent layer is changed with the tidal phase.Thirdly,high turbulent diffusivities are found in the bottom of M4 seamount,and these are most likely attributed to the turbulent mixing induced by the mutual effect between semidiurnal tidal currents and steep bathymetry.This article of physical oceanography provides scientific basis for further analysis of the distribution of biological community and deposition mechanism in M4 seamount.Xingyu SHI Zhenyan WANG Haijun HUANG 2021Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2021,39,5:3

19Dietary Leucine Requirement of Juvenile Japanese Seabass(Lateolabrax Japonicus)显示文摘A 56-day feeding trial was conducted to examine the dietary leucine requirement of juvenile Japanese seabass in seawater floating net cages(1.5 m × 1.5 m × 2.0 m). Six isonitrogenous(crude protein 40%) and isoenergetic(gross energy 20 k J g-1) diets were formulated to contain different concentrations of leucine(0.9%, 1.49%, 2.07%, 2.70%, 3.30% and 3.88% of dry matter). Crystalline L-amino acids were supplemented to simulate the whole body amino acid pattern of Japanese seabass except for leucine. Three groups(30 fish individuals each, 8.0 g ± 0.20 g in initial weight) were fed to apparent satiation at 5:00 and 17:30 every day. During the experimental period, the water temperature ranged from 26 to 32℃ and salinity from 26 to 30, and the dissolved oxygen was maintained at 7 mg L-1. The results showed that weight gain(WG), nitrogen retention(NR), feed efficiency(FE) and protein efficiency ratio(PER) were significantly increased when dietary leucine was increased from 0.90% to 2.70% of dry matter, and then declined. WG was the highest when fish were fed D4 containing 2.70% of leucine. No significant differences were observed in body composition among dietary treatments(P > 0.05). 20Evolution of kaolinite subgroup minerals and mixed-layer illite/smectite in the Paleogene Damintun Depression in Liaohe Basin of China and its implication for paleotemperature显示文摘The oil-rich Damintun Depression is located in the Liaohe Basin, Northeast China, and was formed during the Paleogene. The major oil-producing strata in the depression are mudstone and shale. To explore the burial diagenetic history of the basin and the formation thresholds of hydrocarbons, the characters of the kaolinite subgroup minerals and mixed-layer illite/smectite in the mudstone and the shale are studied by using X-ray diffraction, electron probe, scanning electron microscope, and Fourier infrared spectrum. The kaolinite subgroup consists of kaolinite and halloysite. The kaolinite is flake-like or vermiform-like. The halloysite is in long tubular shape and its length is related to its iron content. A longer tube has lower iron content. The crystallinity of kaolinite is 0.40 °2θ, and its degree of order increases from 0.03 to 1.17 with the burial depth. Kaolinite is in disorder when the buried depth is less than or equal to 2479 m , and it is partially ordered when the buried depth is greater than 2479 m. Kaolinite is supposed to turn into dickite when the depth is greater than 2550 m, but low penetrability and low porosity of the shale and mudstone prevent such a change. The mixed-layer illite/smectite changes from disorder to order continually as the buried depth increases. Its disorder (R0I/S), as defined by illite layer content (I%), is smaller than 50% at depths less than 2550.25 m. Based on Hoffman & Hower’s model, the paleo-geothermal gradients of 3.37–3.76°C/100 m (3.57°C /100 m on average) can be derived in the Paleocene Damintun Depression, which is significantly higher than the present geothermal gradient (2.9°C/100 m).
