5Effects of salinity on the nail-holding power of dimension lumber used in light-frame wood building显示文摘We studied the effect of salinity on nail-holding power in wood construction. In saline solution, the holding power of nails was less than in purified water. With the increase of salt concentration, the surface and side nailholding power of the wood specimens both declined, but the differences between salinity treatments were not significant. However, compared to the surface and side nailholding power, the power on the edge was generally less and the difference was not obvious in different salt concentrations. 7Influence of Different Connection Types on Mechanical Behavior of Girder Trusses显示文摘The static test of two single light wood trusses and two girder trusses were carried out to explore theperformance enhancement effect of girder trusses and the influence of different connection types on the mechanicalbehavior, which was studied through the comparison of the test results of four trusses. It is found that the girder trussescan show better load-carrying capacity and anti-deforming ability compared with which simply increases the cross-sectionsize of the members.
