| 1 | High-Q ring resonators directly written in As2S3 chalcogenide glass films显示文摘Planar ring resonator waveguides are fabricated in thin films of As2S3 chalcogenide glass,deposited on silicaon-silicon substrates.Waveguide cores are directly written by scanning the focused illumination of a femtosecond Ti:sapphire laser at a central wavelength of 810 nm,through a two-photon photo-darkening process.A large photoinduced index change of 0.3–0.4 refractive index units is obtained.The radius of the ring resonator is 1.9 mm,corresponding to a transmission free spectral range of 9.1 GHz.A high loaded(intrinsic) Q value of 110,000(180,000) is achieved.The thermal dependence of the resonator transfer function is characterized.The results provide the first report,to the best of our knowledge,of directly written high-Q ring resonators in chalcogenide glass films,and demonstrate the potential of this simple technique towards the fabrication of planar lightguide circuits in these materials. | Shahar Levy Matvei Klebanov Avi Zadok | 2015 | Photonics Research2015，3，3： | 3 |
| 2 | Tunable sharp and highly selective microwave-photonic band-pass filters based on stimulated Brillouin scattering显示文摘Stimulated Brillouin scattering(SBS)in optical fibers has long been used in frequency-selective optical signal processing,including in the realization of microwave-photonic(MWP)filters.In this work,we report a significant enhancement in the selectivity of SBS-based MWP filters.Filters having a single passband of 250 MHz–1 GHz bandwidth are demonstrated,with selectivity of up to 44 dB.The selectivity of the filters is better than that of the corresponding previous arrangements by about 15 dB.The shape factor of the filters,defined as the ratio between their−20 dB bandwidth and their−3 dB bandwidth,is between 1.35 and 1.5.The central transmission frequency,bandwidth,and spectral shape of the passband are all independently adjusted.Performance enhancement is based on two advances,compared with previous demonstrations of tunable SBS-basedMWPfilters:(a)the polarization attributes of SBS in standard,weakly birefringent fibers are used to discriminate between in-band and out-of-band components and(b)a sharp and uniform power spectral density of the SBS pump waves is synthesized through external modulation of an optical carrier by broadband,frequency-swept waveforms.The signal-to-noise ratio of filtered radio-frequency waveforms and the linear dynamic range of the filters are estimated analytically and quantified experimentally.Lastly,a figure of merit for the performance of the filters is proposed and discussed.The filters are applicable to radio-over-fiber transmission systems. | Yonatan Stern Kun Zhong Thomas Schneider Ru Zhang Yossef Ben-Ezra Moshe Tur Avi Zadok | 2014 | Photonics Research2014，2，4： | 2 |

| 10 | Forward stimulated Brillouin scattering and optomechanical non-reciprocity in standard polarization maintaining fibres显示文摘Opto-mechanical interactions in guided wave media are drawing great interest in fundamental research and applications.Forward stimulated Brillouin scattering,in particular,is widely investigated in optical fibres and photonic integrated circuits.In this work,we report a comprehensive study of forward stimulated Brillouin scattering over standard,panda-type polarization maintaining fibres.We distinguish between intra-polarization scattering,in which two pump tones are co-polarized along one principal axis,and inter-polarization processes driven by orthogonally polarized pump waves.Both processes are quantified in analysis,calculations and experiment.Inter-modal scattering,in particular,introduces cross-polarization switching of probe waves that is non-reciprocal.Switching takes place in multiple wavelength windows.The results provide a first demonstration of opto-mechanical non-reciprocity of forward scatter in standard fibre.The inter-polarization process is applicable to distributed sensors of media outside the cladding and coating boundaries,where light cannot reach.The process may be scaled towards forward Brillouin lasers,optical isolators and circulators and narrowband microwave-photonic filters over longer sections of off-the-shelf polarization maintaining fibres. | Gil Bashan Hilel Hagai Diamandi Yosef London Kavita Sharma Keren Shemer Elad Zehavi Avi Zadok | 2021 | Light(Science & Applications)2021，10，7： | 1 |
