1Quantitative analysis of the dynamic change and spatial differences of the ecological security: a case study of Loess Plateau in northern Shaanxi Province显示文摘Using the theory and method of the ecological footprint, and combining the changes of regional land use, resource environment, population, society and economy, this paper calculated the ecological footprint, ecological carrying capacity and ecological surplus/loss in 1986-2002 on the Loess Plateau in northern Shaanxi Province. What is more, this paper has put forward the concept of ecological pressure index, set up ecological pressure index models, and ecological security grading systems, and the prediction models of different ecological footprints, ecological carrying capacity, ecological surplus and ecological safety change, and also has assessed the ecological footprint demands of 10,000 yuan GDP. The results of this study are as follows: (1) the ecological carrying capacity in northern Shaanxi shows a decreasing trend, the difference of reducing range is the fastest; (2) the ecological footprint appears an increasing trend; (3) ecological pressure index rose to 0.91 from 0.44 during 1986-2002 on the Loess Plateau of northern Shaanxi with an increase of 47%; and (4) the ecological security in the study area is in a critical state, and the ecological pressure index has been increasing rapidly.LI Jing REN Zhiyuan ZHOU Zixiang 2006Journal of Geographical Sciences2006,16,2:5
2Cold Stress-induced Glucosyltransferase CsUGT78A15 is Involved in the Formation of Eugenol Glucoside in Camellia sinensis显示文摘Eugenol is a natural phenolic compound known for its health-promoting properties and its ability to add a floral scent to tea plants.Plant eugenol glycosides have been identified and shown to make important contributions to fruit floral quality.However,the details of their biosynthesis and metabolism in tea plants are still unknown.Here,eugenol glucoside was unambiguously identified as a native metabolite in the tea plant,and its biosynthesis was shown to be induced by low temperature treatment.Through the analysis of UGTs induced by low temperature,the glycosyltransferase CsUGT78A15 was identified in tea,and its encoded protein was shown to catalyze the glucosylation of eugenol.Vmax/Km ratios showed that eugenol was the most suitable substrate for CsUGT78A15.Sugar donor preference analysis showed that CsUGT78A15 had a higher selectivity for glucose,followed by galactose and glucuronic acid.The expression of CsUGT78A15was correlatedwith the accumulation of eugenol glucoside in different tissues and genotypes of tea.Down-regulation of CsUGT78A15 led to a decreased eugenol glucoside content under cold stress,indicating that CsUGT78A15 plays an important role in the biosynthesis of eugenol glucoside under cold stress.The identification of eugenol glucoside in the tea plant and the discovery of a cold stress-induced eugenol glucosyltransferase in tea provide the foundation for the improvement of tea flavor under cold stress and the biotechnological production of eugenol glucoside.Mingyue Zhao Binbin Cai Jieyang Jin Na Zhang Tingting Jing Jingming Wang Yuting Pan Zixiang Zhou Yifan Zhao Yingying Feng Feng Yu Mengting Zhang Yating Li Zhonghua Liu Chuankui Song 2020Horticultural Plant Journal2020,6,6:4

5Unveiling the impact of residual Li conversion and cation ordering on electrochemical performance of Co-free Ni-rich cathodes显示文摘The residual Li and Li^(+)/Ni_(2)+cation mixing play essential roles in the electrochemical properties of Ni-rich cathodes.However,a general relationship between the residual Li conversion,cation mixing,and their effects on the Li^(+)kinetics and structural stability has yet to be established,due to the presence of cobalt in the cathode.Here,we explore the synergistic impact of the residual Li conversion and cation ordering on a Co-free Ni-rich cathode(i.e.,LiNi0.95Mn0.05O_(2)).It discloses that the rate capability is mainly affected by residual Li contents and operating voltage.Specifically,residual Li can be electrochemically converted to cathode electrolyte interphase(CEI)below 4.3 V,thus inducing high interphase resistance,and decomposes to produce CO_(2)-dominated gas at 4.5 V,causing temporary enhancement of Li^(+)diffusivity but severe surface degradation during cycling.Moreover,the cycling performance of Co-free Ni-rich cathode is not only determined by Li^(+)/Ni_(2)+cation-ordered superlattice,which enhances the structural stability as it functions as the pillar to impede lattice collapse at a highly charged state,but also by the robust CEI layers which protect the bulk from electrolyte attack under 4.3 V.These findings promote an in-depth understanding of residual Li conversion and Li^(+)/Ni_(2)+cation ordering on Co-free Ni-rich cathode.Chu Wang Lei Tan Hongling Yi Zixiang Zhao Xiaoli Yi Youyuan Zhou Junchao Zheng Jiexi Wang Lingjun Li 2022Nano Research2022,15,10:1
6Dynamic targets searching assistance based on virtual camera priority显示文摘Background When a user walks freely in an unknown virtual scene and searches for multiple dynamic targets,the lack of a comprehensive understanding of the environment may have a negative impact on the execution of virtual reality tasks.Previous studies can help users with auxiliary tools,such as top view maps or trails,and exploration guidance,for example,automatically generated paths according to the user location and important static spots in virtual scenes.However,in some virtual reality applications,when the scene has complex occlusions,and the user cannot obtain any real-time position information of the dynamic target,the above assistance cannot help the user complete the task more effectively.Methods We design a virtual camera priority-based assistance to help the user search dynamic targets efficiently.Instead of forcing users to go to destinations,we provide an optimized instant path to guide them to places where they are more likely to find dynamic targets when they ask for help.We assume that a certain number of virtual cameras are fixed in virtual scenes to obtain extra depth maps,which capture the depth information of the scene and the locations of the dynamic targets.Our method automatically analyzes the priority of these virtual cameras,chooses the destination,and generates an instant path to assist the user in finding the dynamic targets.Our method is suitable for various virtual reality applications that do not require manual supervision or input.Results A user study is designed to evaluate the proposed method.The results indicate that compared with three conventional navigation methods,such as the top-view method,our method can help users find dynamic targets more efficiently.The advantages include reducing the task completion time,reducing the number of resets,increasing the average distance between resets,and reducing user task load.Conclusions We presented a method for improving dynamic target searching efficiency in virtual scenes by virtual camera priority-based path guidance.Compared with three conventional navigation methods,such as the top-view method,this method can help users find dynamic targets more effectively.Zixiang ZHAO Quanwei ZHOU Xiaoguang HAN Lili WANG 2021Virtual Reality & Intelligent Hardware2021,3,6:0
7Influence of varied drought types on soil conservation service within the framework of climate change:insights from the Jinghe River Basin,China显示文摘Severe soil erosion and drought are the two main factors affecting the ecological security of the Loess Plateau,China.Investigating the influence of drought on soil conservation service is of great importance to regional environmental protection and sustainable development.However,there is little research on the coupling relationship between them.In this study,focusing on the Jinghe River Basin,China as a case study,we conducted a quantitative evaluation on meteorological,hydrological,and agricultural droughts(represented by the Standardized Precipitation Index(SPI),Standardized Runoff Index(SRI),and Standardized Soil Moisture Index(SSMI),respectively)using the Variable Infiltration Capacity(VIC)model,and quantified the soil conservation service using the Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation(RUSLE)in the historical period(2000-2019)and future period(2026-2060)under two Representative Concentration Pathways(RCPs)(RCP4.5 and RCP8.5).We further examined the influence of the three types of drought on soil conservation service at annual and seasonal scales.The NASA Earth Exchange Global Daily Downscaled Projections(NEX-GDDP)dataset was used to predict and model the hydrometeorological elements in the future period under the RCP4.5 and RCP8.5 scenarios.The results showed that in the historical period,annual-scale meteorological drought exhibited the highest intensity,while seasonal-scale drought was generally weakest in autumn and most severe in summer.Drought intensity of all three types of drought will increase over the next 40 years,with a greater increase under the RCP4.5 scenario than under the RCP8.5 scenario.Furthermore,the intra-annual variation in the drought intensity of the three types of drought becomes smaller under the two future scenarios relative to the historical period(2000-2019).Soil conservation service exhibits a distribution pattern characterized by high levels in the southwest and southeast and lower levels in the north,and this pattern has remained consistent both in the historical and future periods.Over the past 20 years,the intra-annual variation indicated peak soil conservation service in summer and lowest level in winter;the total soil conservation of the Jinghe River Basin displayed an upward trend,with the total soil conservation in 2019 being 1.14 times higher than that in 2000.The most substantial impact on soil conservation service arises from annual-scale meteorological drought,which remains consistent both in the historical and future periods.Additionally,at the seasonal scale,meteorological drought exerts the highest influence on soil conservation service in winter and autumn,particularly under the RCP4.5 and RCP8.5 scenarios.Compared to the historical period,the soil conservation service in the Jinghe River Basin will be significantly more affected by drought in the future period in terms of both the affected area and the magnitude of impact.This study conducted beneficial attempts to evaluate and predict the dynamic characteristics of watershed drought and soil conservation service,as well as the response of soil conservation service to different types of drought.Clarifying the interrelationship between the two is the foundation for achieving sustainable development in a relatively arid and severely eroded area such as the Jinghe River Basin.BAI Jizhou LI Jing RAN Hui ZHOU Zixiang DANG Hui ZHANG Cheng YU Yuyang 2024Journal of Arid Land2024,16,2:0

13Carbon payments in the Guanzhong–Tianshui region to control land degradation显示文摘Carbon trading and carbon offset markets are potential policy options for mitigating greenhouse gas emissions and climate change. A price on carbon is expected to generate demand for carbon offsets. In a market-based framework, the carbon price should be high enough to compensate for opportunity costs. We studied a highly-modified agricultural system in the Guanzhong–Tianshui economic region of China that is typical of many temperate agricultural zones in western China. We quantified the economic returns from agriculture and from carbon plantings(both monoculture and ecological plantings) under five carbon-price scenarios. The mean carbon sequestration is 34 Mg·hm^(–2)·a^(–1), and the average annual payment increased to 1146 CNY·hm^(–2) at a medium carbon price of 50 CNY·Mg^(–1) CO_2^(–e). Thus, areas of high priority for conservation and restoration may be restored relatively cheaply in the presence of a carbon market.Overall, however, less carbon is sequestered by ecological plantings(i.e., mixed native trees and shrubs) compared to agriculture.Zixiang ZHOU Yufeng ZOU 2017Frontiers of Agricultural Science and Engineering2017,4,2:0
