2The Qitai radio telescope显示文摘This study presents a general outline of the Qitai radio telescope(QTT)project.Qitai,the site of the telescope,is a county of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China,located in the east Tianshan Mountains at an elevation of about 1800 m.The QTT is a fully steerable,Gregorian-type telescope with a standard parabolic main reflector of 110 m diameter.The QTT has adopted an umbrella support,homology-symmetric lightweight design.The main reflector is active so that the deformation caused by gravity can be corrected.The structural design aims to ultimately allow high-sensitivity observations from 150 MHz up to115 GHz.To satisfy the requirements for early scientific goals,the QTTwill be equipped with ultra-wideband receivers and large field-of-view multi-beam receivers.A multi-function signal-processing system based on RFSo C and GPU processor chips will be developed.These will enable the QTT to operate in pulsar,spectral line,continuum and Very Long Baseline Interferometer(VLBI)observing modes.Electromagnetic compatibility(EMC)and radio frequency interference(RFI)control techniques are adopted throughout the system design.The QTT will form a world-class observational platform for the detection of lowfrequency(nano Hertz)gravitational waves through pulsar timing array(PTA)techniques,pulsar surveys,the discovery of binary black-hole systems,and exploring dark matter and the origin of life in the universe.The QTT will also play an important role in improving the Chinese and international VLBI networks,allowing high-sensitivity and high-resolution observations of the nuclei of distant galaxies and gravitational lensing systems.Deep astrometric observations will also contribute to improving the accuracy of the celestial reference frame.Potentially,the QTT will be able to support future space activities such as planetary exploration in the solar system and to contribute to the search for extraterrestrial intelligence.Na Wang Qian Xu Jun Ma Zhiyong Liu Qi Liu Hailong Zhang Xin Pei Maozheng Chen Richard N.Manchester Kejia Lee Xingwu Zheng Hans J.Kärcher Wulin Zhao Hongwei Li Dongwei Li Martin Süss Matthias Reichert Zhongyi Zhu Congsi Wang Mingshuai Li Rui Li Ning Li Guljaina Kazezkhan Wenming Yan Gang Wu Lang Cui Ming Zhang Haitao Li 2023Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2023,66,8:14
3Multivariable wavelet finite element for flexible skew thin plate analysis显示文摘Flexible skew thin plate is widely used in mechanical engineering,architectural engineering and structural engineering.High-precision analysis is very important for structural design and improvement.In this paper,the multivariable wavelet finite element(MWFE)based on B-spline wavelet on the interval(BSWI)is constructed for flexible skew thin plate analysis.First,the finite element formulation is derived from multivariable generalized potential energy function.Then the generalized field variables are interpolated and calculated by BSWI.Different from the traditional wavelet finite element,the analysis precision can be improved because the generalized displacement and stress field variables are interpolated and calculated independently,the secondary calculation and the computational error are avoided.In order to verify the effectiveness of the constructed MWFE,several numerical examples are given in the end.ZHANG XingWu CHEN XueFeng YANG ZhiBo SHEN ZhongJie 2014Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,8:5
4Optical dating of the Jingshuiwan Paleolithic site of Three Gorges, China显示文摘The Jingshuiwan Paleolithic site occu- pies the second terrace on the right bank of the Yangtze River. The lithic assemblage is characterized by choppers and scrapers made on pebbles and large flakes——the typical lithic industry of South China. Deposits of the site are mainly composed of fluvial sediments. Quartz grains extracted from these fluvial sediments from which the artifacts were un- covered were dated using the optically stimulated luminescence/single-aliquot regenerative-dose tech- nique. The dating results show that ancient human activities at this site took place in the early Upper Pleistocene (ca. 70 ka). The successful age analysis of the Jingshuiwan site is considered as a major break- through in chronological analysis of Paleolithic open site in the Three Gorges region and even in South China. 19THE ANALYSIS OF SHALLOW SHELLS BASED ON MULTIVARIABLE WAVELET FINITE ELEMENT METHOD显示文摘Based on the generalized variational principle and B-spline wavelet on the interval (BSWI), the multivariable BSWI elements with two kinds of variables (TBSWI) for hyperboloidal shell and open cylindrical shell are constructed in this paper. Different from the traditional method, the present one treats the generalized displacement and stress as independent variables. So differentiation and integration are avoided in calculating generalized stress and thus the precision is improved. Furthermore, compared with commonly used Daubechies wavelet, BSWI has explicit expression and excellent approximation property and thus further guarantee satisfactory results.
