1High-resolution linkage and quantitative trait locus mapping using an interspecific cross between Argopecten irradians irradians(♀) and A. purpuratus (♂)显示文摘The bay scallop and Peruvian scallop are economically important species.Interspecific hybrids of these two scallops outperformed both of their parent species in multiple growth traits but exhibited decreased fertility,which provides good models for the study of heterosis and species divergence.Genetic mapping serves as a chromosomal-level framework to investigate the molecular mechanisms of hybridization and introgression.In this study,high-resolution linkage maps were constructed for the bay and Peruvian scallops with an interspecific hybrid family.The linkage map of the bay scallop covered over 98.9% of the whole genome with 2994 mapped markers and the average marker interval of 0.32 cM.For the Peruvian scallop,1585 markers were mapped with the average maker interval of 0.51 cM,covering 97.7% of the genome.Both the two linkage maps have 16 linkage groups,corresponding to the haploid chromosome number of the two species.Approximately,54.5% of markers exhibited significant deviation from the expected Mendelian ratio of segregation,lending in sights into the intrinsic incompatibility between the two species.QTLs related to growth and shell coloration were detected,which could explain 13.1%and 74.9% of the phenotypic variance,respectively.This represents important information for further evaluation.These findings are an important addition to the genomic resources for scallop genetic studies,and are especially useful for investigations on genomic incompatibility for hybridization,genome evolution of closely related species,and genetic enhancement programs in aquaculture.Junxia Mao Qifan Zeng Zujing Yang Haoyuan Pan Lijie Yao Zhenmin Bao Chunde Wang Shi Wang 2020Marine Life Science & Technology2020,2,2:1

3Who Lost Most Wages and Household Income during the COVID-19 Pandemic in Poor Rural China?显示文摘China managed to eliminate all extreme poverty in rural areas in 2020.Poor households,however,may risk falling back into poverty due to the COVID-19.This paper examines the impacts of the pandemic on wages and household incomes among different groups in poor areas of rural China.Using a unique dataset from five poverty-stricken counties,we found that the pandemic has had large negative effects on wage income for migrant workers and workers in manufacturing,the private sector,and small enterprises.Compared with households relying on wage income,households relying on small businesses have suffered much more from the pandemic,whereas households depending on farming or transfer payments have been less affected.Although poor and ethnic minority households lost significant amounts of wage income due to the pandemic,they did not lose more household income than nonpoor and nonminority households.We conclude that support from the government has kept vulnerable households from suffering more than other households from the effects of COVID-19.Our findings suggest that the government can play a strong role in alleviating the negative impacts of the COVID-19.Wenjin Long Junxia Zeng Tongquan Sun 2021China & World Economy2021,29,6:1

5How Did Poverty Reduction in China Contribute to theWorld?Viewing from the Implementation of the UN MDGs and SDGs显示文摘Countries all over the world are highly concerned about poverty.Both the Millennium Development Goals(MDGs)and Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs)of the United Nations set ending poverty and hunger as their top priority.Whether in its own modernization drive or in the implementation of the United Nations’MDGs and SDGs,the Chinese Government has always attached great importance to poverty issues,and actively explored measures to reduce poverty.This paper is designed to use relevant statistics to sum up China’s achievements and experience in implementing the MDGs so as to provide a policy basis for poverty reduction in China and beyond.This paper discovers that China’s achievements in poverty reduction involve four aspects:Eliminating hunger ahead of schedule,improving people’s nutritional status,enhancing food security and laying a solid foundation for sustainable agricultural development;China’s experience in poverty reduction includes the following:the government had paid high attention;economic development had served as the key to solve all problems;the development had been guided by planning and guaranteed by policies and regulations;the market mechanism had played its due role;emphasis had been placed on the pilot projects and step-by-step promotion strategy,as well as on development cooperation and experience exchanges.The Chinese Government had formulated specific plans to achieve the poverty reduction targets set in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.Besides,the Rural Revitalization Strategy proposed by the Chinese Government in 2017 has become the essential strategy to solve the poverty-related issues in China’s development.GAO Liangliang MA Cuiping ZENG Junxia WANG Bin LI Yue 2019Chinese Journal of Urban and Environmental Studies2019,7,1:0
6Periostin promotes EMT via inhibition of RIN1-mediated endocytosis of EGFR in gliomas显示文摘Purpose:Approximately 1/3 of brain tumors are gliomas.Previous glioma-related studies have reported increased expression of periostin(POSTN)in these cancerous tissues,but the role and mechanism of POSTN in glioma development remain unclear.Methods:Nanoscale liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry(nano LC-MS/MS)and RNA sequencing were used to identify diferential protein and mRNA expression in clinical glioma samples.Quantitative real-time PCR(qRT-PCR)was used to measure the expression of POSTN in tissues and cells.The efects of POSTN on glioma cell migration and invasion were examined using wound healing,Transwell,and three-dimensional spheroid assays in vitro and a nude mouse xenograft model in vivo.The efects of POSTN on the stability,endocytosis,and degradation of EGFR were examined by immunoblotting and immunofuorescence staining.Truncation mutation analysis was performed to investigate direct interactions between POSTN and EGFR.Immunohistochemical staining was carried out to confrm the clinical signifcance of POSTN.Results:Overexpression of POSTN induced epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition(EMT)in glioma cells in vivo and in vitro.Mechanistically,POSTN downregulation inhibited EGFR signaling by promoting EGFR endocytosis and degradation.In addition,POSTN was found to bind to EGFR and RIN1,inhibiting EGFR endocytosis and degradation and thus activating the PI3K-Akt signaling pathway.Conclusion:These fndings indicate the mechanism by which the POSTN/EGFR/RIN1 axis inhibits EGFR endocytosis and degradation,resulting in glioma cell EMT through the PI3K-AKT signaling pathway.Targeting POSTN/EGFR/RIN1 interactions may guarantee benefcial outcomes of glioma treatment.Fengqi Zhou Tianfu Yu Fan Xiao Binbin Wang Wei Tian Ran Xu Xiaochun Zhao Ailiang Zeng Ning Liu Yingyi Wang Yongping You Junxia Zhang 2022Holistic Integrative Oncology2022,1,1:0
