| 1 | Comparison and significance of specific and non-specific cellular immunity in patients with chronic hepatitis B caused by infection with genotypes B or C of hepatitis B virus显示文摘The present study was designed to investigate possible relationships between the genotypes of hepatitis B virus(HBV) and the HBV-specific cytotoxic T lymphocyte(CTL) responses.HBV genotypes,HBV specific CTL HBV DNA and other markers of HBV infection were determined in 138 patients with chronic hepatitis B.The results showed that the patients infected with genotype C(n=62) had a significantly lower HBV-specific CTL response than those who were infected with HBV genotype B(P<0.01).HBV DNA titer was higher in patients infected with HBV genotype C than in those infected with HBV geno-type B(P<0.01).Both alanine aminotransferase(ALT) and total bilirubin(TBIL) were higher in HBV genotype C infected patients than in those infected with genotype B(P<0.01 and <0.05,respectively).These results suggest that compared with CHB patients infected with HBV genotype B,the higher HBV DNA level and more severe liver damages in the patients infected with genotype C of HBV may be associated with genotype C of the virus. | GU XiBing,YANG XiaoJuan,WANG Dong,HUA Zhong,WU HangYuan,CHEN HaoKun,XU YueQin & LU ZhongHua Wuxi Hospital for Infectious Diseases,Wuxi 214005,China | 2009 | Science China(Life Sciences)2009,52,8: | 16 |

| 3 | Oxidation kinetics regularity in spontaneous combustion of gas coal显示文摘In order to investigate the oxidation kinetics of gas coal at low temperatures, we derived a rate equation of oxygen con-sumption during low-temperature oxidation of gas coal and deduced an E-c equation, expressing the relation between active energy E and oxygen concentration c. The reaction order n and active energy E were calculated with this equation based on experiments of static oxygen consumption tests. In addition, we proved the rationality of the E-c equation using a kinetic compensation effect and obtained the isokinetic temperature Tc. | 4 | Dietary resveratrol attenuation of intestinal inflammation and oxidative damage is linked to the alteration of gut microbiota and butyrate in piglets challenged with deoxynivalenol显示文摘Background:Deoxynivalenol(DON)is a widespread mycotoxin that induces intestinal inflammation and oxidative stress in humans and animals.Resveratrol(RES)effectively exerts anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.However,the protective effects of RES on alleviating DON toxicity in piglets and the underlying mechanism remain unclear.Therefore,this study aimed to investigate the effect of RES on growth performance,gut health and the gut microbiota in DON-challenged piglets.A total of 64 weaned piglets[Duroc×(Landrace×Yorkshire),21-d-old,6.97±0.10 kg body weight(BW)]were randomly allocated to 4 treatment groups(8 replicate pens per treatment,each pen containing 2 males;n=16 per treatment)for 28 d.The piglets were fed a control diet(CON)or the CON diet supplemented with 300 mg RES/kg diet(RES group),3.8 mg DON/kg diet(DON)or both(DON+RES)in a 2×2 factorial design.Results:DON-challenged piglets fed the RES-supplemented diet had significantly decreased D-lactate concentrations and tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α)and interleukin 1 beta(IL-1β)mRNA and protein expression,and increased zonula occludens-1(ZO-1)mRNA and protein expression compared with those of DON-challenged piglets fed the unsupplemented diet(P<0.05).Compared with unsupplemented DON-challenged piglets,infected piglets fed a diet with RES showed significantly decreased malondialdehyde(MDA)levelsand increased mRNA expression of antioxidant enzymes and antioxidant genes(i.e.,GCLC,GCLM,HO-1,SOD1 and NQO-1)and glutamatecysteine-ligase modulatory subunit(GCLM)protein expression(P<0.05).Moreover,RES supplementation significantly abrogated the increase in the proportion of TUNEL-positive cells and the protein expression of caspase3 in DON-challenged piglets(P<0.05).Finally,RES supplementation significantly increased the abundance of Roseburia and butyrate concentrations,while decreasing the abundances of Bacteroides and unidentified-Enterobacteriaceae in DON-challenged piglets compared with DON-challenged piglets alone(P<0.05).Conclusions:RES supplementation improved gut health in DON-challenged piglets by strengthening intestinal barrier function,alleviating intestinal inflammation and oxidative damage,and positively modulating the gut microbiota.The protective effects of RES on gut health may be linked to increased Roseburia and butyrate concentrations,and decreased levels of Bacteroides and unidentified-Enterobacteriaceae. | Yueqin Qiu Jun Yang Li Wang Xuefen Yang Kaiguo Gao Cui Zhu Zongyong Jiang | 2021 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2021,12,4: | 12 |

| 7 | 5-Hydroxymethylome in Circulating Cell-free DNA as A Potential Biomarker for Non-small-cell Lung Cancer显示文摘Non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC), the most common type of lung cancer accounting for 85% of the cases, is often diagnosed at advanced stages owing to the lack of efficient early diagnostic tools. 5-Hydroxymethylcytosine(5 hmC) signatures in circulating cell-free DNA(cfDNA) that carries the cancer-specific epigenetic patterns may represent the valuable biomarkers for discriminating tumor and healthy individuals, and thus could be potentially useful for NSCLC diagnosis. Here,we employed a sensitive and reliable method to map genome-wide 5 hmC in the cfDNA of Chinese NSCLC patients and detected a significant 5 hmC gain in both the gene bodies and promoter regions in the blood samples from tumor patients compared with healthy controls. Specifically, we identified six potential biomarkers from 66 patients and 67 healthy controls(mean decrease accuracy>3.2, P < 3.68E-19) using machine-learning-based tumor classifiers with high accuracy. | 9 | Effects of repeated applications of fungicide carbendazim on its persistence and microbial community in soil显示文摘Carbendazim,a systemic benzimidazole fungicide,is applied repeatedly to control plant diseases including soilborne diseases,over a growing season.Studies were carried out under laboratory conditions to assess the effects of repeated carbendazim applications on its persistence and microbial community in soil.The results indicate that dissipation of carbendazim in soil was accelerated with its application frequency.The degradation rate constant of carbendazim was increased significantly from 0.074 d-1 to 0.79 d-1.The corresponding half-life was shorten markedly from 9.3 d to 0.9 d after four repeated applications.No significant inhibitory effect of carbendazim on soil microbial utilization of the carbon sources was observed after first treatment,but a slight increase in average well color development(AWCD) was shown after second,third,and fourth applications.It suggested that soil microorganisms become adapted to carbendazim after repeated application.Simpson and Shannon indexes of soil microbial community from carbendazim treated soil were also similar to those from the control soil,indicating that the richness and dominant character of soil microorganisms remain unchangeable after repeated application.However,after first,second,and third addition of carbendazim,McIntosh indexes on day 21 were significantly higher compared with the control,suggesting that balance of soil microorganisms was altered due to the enrichment of the specific carbendazim-adapting strains in soil. | YU Yunlong,CHU Xiaoqiang,PANG Guohui,XIANG Yueqin,FANG Hua Department of Plant Protection,College of Agriculture and Biotechnology,Zhejiang University,Hangzhou 310029,China. | 2009 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2009,21,2: | 6 |
| 10 | Age-determined referral criteria of myopia for large-scale vision screening显示文摘Background: This study aimed to explore the best screening measure of myopia and its associated optimal referral criteria for children aged between 6 and 16.Methods: After informed consent of cycloplegia was obtained, a total of 6,321 children aged between 6 and 16 from 53 primary or junior middle schools in Jiading District of Shanghai were included in our populationbased study. Receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve was performed to determine the best cutoff points, sensitivities and specii cities of different screening tests, including uncorrected visual acuity(UCVA), noncycloplegic autorefraction(NCAR) and the combination of these two tests.Results: There was significant difference in prevalence of myopia between boys and girls(χ~2=6.358, P=0.012). Compared with children of low age, the prevalence of older children was significantly higher(χ~2=1,386.404, P<0.001). For the combination of UCVA and NCAR, the best cutoff point was UCVA less than or equal to 0.2 logarithm of minimum angle of resolution(MAR)(20/30) and NCAR spherical equivalent refraction(SER) less than or equal to -0.75 diopters(D), with associated sensitivity and specificity of 75.0% and 85.0%, respectively, which were higher than those of UCVA and NCAR alone. After stratified by age, the best cutof points were varied among children. The accuracy for children aged between 9 and 12 was higher than that for other ages.Conclusions: The best screening measure of myopia was the combination of UCVA and NCAR. | 14 | Rational synthetic combination genetic devices boosting high temperature ethanol fermentation显示文摘The growth and production of yeast in the industrial fermentation are seriously restrained by heat stress and exacerbated by heat induced oxidative stress.In this study,a novel synthetic biology approach was developed to globally boost the viability and production ability of S.cerevisiae at high temperature through rationally designing and combing heat shock protein(HSP)and superoxide dismutase(SOD)genetic devices to ultimately synergistically alleviate both heat stress and oxidative stress.HSP and SOD from extremophiles were constructed to be different genetic devices and they were preliminary screened by heat resistant experiments and anti-oxidative experiments,respectively.Then in order to customize and further improve thermotolerance of S.cerevisiae,the HSP genetic device and SOD genetic device were rationally combined.The results show the simply assemble of the same function genetic devices to solve heat stress or oxidative stress could not enhance the thermotolerance considerably.Only S.cerevisiae with the combination genetic device(FBA1p-sod-MB4-FBA1p-shsp-HB8)solving both stress showed 250%better thermotolerance than the control and displayed further 55%enhanced cell density compared with the strains with single FBA1p-sod-MB4 or FBA1p-shsp-HB8 at 42C.Then the most excellent combination genetic device was introduced into lab S.cerevisiae and industrial S.cerevisiae for ethanol fermentation.The ethanol yields of the two strains were increased by 20.6%and 26.3%compared with the control under high temperature,respectively.These results indicate synergistically defensing both heat stress and oxidative stress is absolutely necessary to enhance the thermotolerance and production of S.cerevisiae. | Huan Sun Haiyang Jia Jun Li Xudong Feng Yueqin Liu Xiaohong Zhou Chun Li | 2017 | Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology2017,2,2: | 3 |

| 16 | Relationship between suspended sediments from the Changjiang Estuary and the evolution of the embayed muddy coast of Zhejiang Province显示文摘South of Hangzhou Bay, Zhejiang Province, exhibits an embayed muddy coastline, with the muddy beaches of embayments extending continuously seaward.The source of sediments on this coast presents an interesting problem to marine geologists and geomorphologists .The total annual load of sediments from the rivers of Zhejiang is only 12×106t.These materials affect only the area near the river mouths. The paper showed that the sediment along the coast of Zhejiang mainly comes from the Changjiang Estuary through analysing the time and space variations of suspended sediment, the features of sediment and the sedimentary transport.The Changjiang River is the largest river system in China, its sediment to the sea amounting to 468×106t. | 17 | Optimum Operating and Regeneration Parameters of ZnI2 Catalyst for Converting Methanol to Triptane:An Ideal Component of Unleaded Aviation Gasoline显示文摘Conversion of methanol(MeOH) to 2,2,3-trimethylbutane(triptane) over zinc iodide(ZnI_2)catalyst was investigated in a closed batch reactor.Optimum operating parameters were searched and catalyst deactivation and regeneration behaviors were discussed.The fresh,spent and regenerated catalysts were characterized by XRD,TG and XRF measurements to elucidate the related mechanism.The experimental results showed that the triptane yield reached up to 12.2% under the process conditions,including a reaction temperature of 200℃,an initial pressure of 0.35 MPa,a reaction time of 2 h,and a Me OH to ZnI_2 molar ratio of 2.The catalyst was gradually deactivated after several run cycles.A small amount of iodine was lost and a certain amount of ZnO was formed on the deactivated ZnI_2 catalyst.Deactivation of the catalyst could be attributed to the reduction of ZnI_2 amount,resulted from iodine loss and formation of Zn O.It was firstly pointed out from our work that the deactivated catalyst could be well regenerated by the hydrogen iodide(HI) and the tert-butanol compensation method,wherein the latter was added as an initiator into the reaction system.The activity recovery of the deactivated(spent) catalyst might be related to the reformation of ZnI_2 and acceleration of the initiation step of this reaction. | Chen Weiwei Song Yueqin Zong Rui Du Changfei Zhou Xiaolong Li Chenglie | 2018 | China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2018,20,2: | 3 |
| 18 | Towards understanding the brittle–ductile transition in the extreme manufacturing显示文摘The brittle–ductile transition(BDT) widely exists in the manufacturing with extremely small deformation scale, thermally assisted machining, and high-speed machining. This paper reviews the BDT in extreme manufacturing. The factors affecting the BDT in extreme manufacturing are analyzed, including the deformation scale and deformation temperature induced brittle-to-ductile transition, and the reverse transition induced by grain size and strain rate. A discussion is arranged to explore the mechanisms of BDT and how to improve the machinability based on the BDT. It is proposed that the mutual transition between brittleness and ductility results from the competition between the occurrence of plastic deformation and the propagation of cracks. | 20 | Similarity assessment for scientific workflow clustering and recommendation显示文摘This article proposes to identify and recommend scientific workflows for reuse and repurposing.Specifically, a scientific workflow is represented as a layer hierarchy that specifies the hierarchical relations between this workflow, its sub-workflows, and activities. Semantic similarity is calculated between layer hierarchies of workflows.
