1Selective electrochemical production of hydrogen peroxide at zigzag edges of exfoliated molybdenum telluride nanoflakes显示文摘The two-electron reduction of molecular oxygen represents an effective strategy to enable the green,mild and on-demand synthesis of hydrogen peroxide.Its practical viability,however,hinges on the development of advanced electrocatalysts,preferably composed of non-precious elements,to selectively expedite this reaction,particularly in acidic medium.Our study here introduces 2H-MoTe2 for the first time as the efficient non-precious-metal-based electrocatalyst for the electrochemical production ofhydrogen peroxide in acids.We show that exfoliated 2H-MoTe2 nanoflakes have high activity(onset overpotential〜140 mV and large mass activity of 27 A g^-1 at 0.4 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode),great selectivity(H2O2 percentage up to 93%)and decent stability in 0.5 M H2SO4.Theoretical simulations evidence that the high activity and selectivity of 2H-MoTe2 arise from the proper binding energies of HOO*and O*at its zigzag edges that jointly favor the two-electron reduction instead of the four-electron reduction of molecular oxygen.Xuan Zhao Yu Wang Yunli Da Xinxia Wang Tingting Wang Mingquan Xu Xiaoyun He Wu Zhou Yafei Li Jonathan NColeman Yanguang Li 2020National Science Review2020,7,8:3

3Microelectrode arrays for monitoring neural activity in neural stem cells with modulation by glutamate in vitro显示文摘In this study, a 60-channel microelectrode array(MEA) was fabricated and used to monitor the neural spikes and local field potentials(LFPs) of neurons differentiated from rat neural stem cells in vitro. The neurons were grown on the MEA surface to detect neural signals. Glutamate(Glu) was used to modulate neural activity during experiments. To enhance detection performance, platinum nanoparticles were modified onto the microelectrode site surface. Glutamate stimulated neural spikes and LFPs were recorded using the MEA. The average spike amplitude was approximately 70 μV in the normal state. The spike amplitude increased by 29% from 70 μV to 90 μV with Glu modulation. The firing rate increased by 69% from 4.01 Hz to 6.8 Hz with Glu modulation. The LFP power increased from 326 μW in the normal state to 617 μW with Glu modulation in the 0–10 Hz frequency band. Data analysis shows that neural activity stimulated by Glu modulation was recorded experimentally at high temporal-spatial resolution. 4Anthraquinone Covalently Modified Carbon Nanotubes for Efficient and Steady Electrocatalytic H2O2 Generation显示文摘Anthraquinone(AQ)modified carbon materials could be endowed with significantly improved oxygen re-duction reaction(ORR)activity.However,the application of these materials in the generation of hydrogen peroxide(H2O2)has been rarely investigated.For this motivation,AQ covalently modified carbon nanotube(AQ-CNT)was pur-posely synthesized for H2O2 generation.It was found that the cumulative H2O2 concentration reached up to 187.18 mg(Lh)over AQ(40)-CNT catalyst,nearly 2.0 times higher than that over CNT,and being superior to those over most carbon materials reported.The enhanced activity stemmed from the improved mass transfer fficiency of oxygen and the enhanced electrocatalytic activity.Noteworthily,the AQ(40)-CNT material exhibited satisfactory stability for H2O2 generation,which was ascribed to the strong interaction force of C-N covalent bond.The present work could provide a vital idea for designing electrode material with simultancously improved activity and stability for H2O2 gencration.YU Fangyuan WANG Kai WANG Chuan HE Xinxia LIAO Yang ZHAO Shilin MAO Hui LI Xiaoting MA Jun 2020Chemical Research in Chinese Universities2020,36,6:1
5Micro EEG/ECG signal's chopper-stabilization amplifying chip for novel drycontact electrode显示文摘Facing the body's EEG(electroencephalograph, 0.5–100 Hz, 5–100 μV) and ECG's(electrocardiogram,< 100 Hz, 0.01–5 mV) micro signal detection requirement, this paper develops a pervasive application micro signal detection ASIC chip with the chopping modulation/demodulation method. The chopper-stabilization circuit with the RRL(ripple reduction loop) circuit is to suppress the ripple voltage, which locates at the single-stage amplifier's outputting terminal. The single-stage chopping core's noise has been suppressed too, and it is beneficial for suppressing noises of post-circuit. The chopping core circuit uses the PFB(positive feedback loop) to increase the inputting resistance, and the NFB(negative feedback loop) to stabilize the 40 dB intermediate frequency gain. The cascaded switch-capacitor sample/hold circuit has been used for deleting spike noises caused by non-ideal MOS switches, and the VGA/BPF(voltage gain amplifier/band pass filter) circuit is used to tune the chopper system's gain/bandwidth digitally. Assisted with the designed novel dry-electrode, the real test result of the chopping amplifying circuit gives some critical parameters: 8.1 μW/channel, 0.8 μVrms(@band-widthD100 Hz), 4216–11220 times digitally tuning gain range, etc. The data capture system uses the NI CO's data capturing DAQmx interface,and the captured micro EEG/ECG's waves are real-time displayed with the PC-Labview. 6Nanoliposome-encapsulated caged-GABA for modulating neural electrophysiological activity with simultaneous detection by microelectrode arrays显示文摘Effective and precise neural modulation with real-time detection in the brain is of great importance and represents a significant challenge.Nanoliposome-encapsulated light-sensitive compounds have excellent characteristics such as high temporal and spatial resolution,delayed drug clearance,and restricted drug biodistribution for neural modulation.In this study,we developed a nanoliposome-based delivery system for ruthenium-based caged GABA compounds(Nanolipo-Ru)to modulate neural activity and allow for real-time monitoring using the microelectrode arrays(MEAs).The Nanolipo-Ru nanoparticles had an average size of 134.10±4.30 nm and exhibited excellent stability for seven weeks.For the in vivo experiment in the rat,release of GABA by Nanolipo-Ru under blue light illumination resulted in an average firing rate reduction in interneurons and pyramidal neurons in the same brain region of 79.4%and 81.6%,respectively.Simultaneously,the average power of local field potentials in the 0–15 Hz range degraded from 4.34 to 0.85 mW.In addition,the Nanolipo-Ru nanoparticles have the potential to provide more flexible timing of modulation than unencapsulated RuBi-GABA in the experiments.These results indicated that Nanolipo-Ru could be an effective platform for regulating neuronal electrophysiology.Furthermore,nanoliposomes with appropriate modifications would render promising utilities for targeting of specific types of neurons in the future.Jingyu Xie Yilin Song Yuchuan Dai Ziyue Li Fei Gao Xuanyu Li Guihua Xiao Yu Zhang Hao Wang Zeying Lu Xingyu Jiang Wenfu Zheng Xinxia Cai 2020Nano Research2020,13,6:0

8Bacillus amyloliquefaciens 40 regulates piglet performance,antioxidant capacity,immune status and gut microbiota显示文摘Probiotics can improve animal growth performance and intestinal health.Bacillus species,Lactobacillus species,Bifidobacterium species,yeast etc.are the common types of probiotics.However,understanding the effects of probiotics on the immune status and gut microbiota of weaning piglets and how the probiotics exert their impact are still limited.This study aimed to investigate the effects of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens 40(BA40)on the performance,immune status and gut microbiota of piglets.A total of 12 litters of newborn piglets were randomly divided into 3 groups.Piglets in control group were orally dosed with phosphate buffered saline;BA40 group and probiotics group were orally gavaged with resuspension BA40 and a probiotics product,respectively.The results showed that BA40 treatment significantly decreased(P<0.05)the diarrhea incidence(from d 5 to 40),diamine oxidase,D-lactate,interleukin(IL)-1βand interferon-γconcentrations compared with control group and probiotics group.Meanwhile BA40 dramatically increased the total antioxidant capacity,IL-10 and secretory immunoglobulin-A concentrations in contrast to control group.For the microbial composition,BA40 modulated the microbiota by improving the abundance of Bacteroides,Phascolarctobacterium(producing short-chain fatty acids)and Desulfovibrio and reducing the proliferation of pathogens(Streptococcus,Tyzzerella,Vellionella and paraeggerthella).Meanwhile,a metabolic function prediction explained that carbohydrate metabolism and amino acid metabolism enriched in BA40 group in contrast to control group and probiotics group.For correlation analysis,the results demonstrated that BA40-enriched Phascolarctobacterium and Desulfovibrio provide insights into strategies for elevating the health status and performance of weaned piglets.Altogether,BA40 exerted stronger ability in decreasing diarrhea incidence and improved antioxidant activity,gut barrier function and immune status of piglets than the other treatments.Our study provided the experimental and theoretical basis for the application of BA40 in pig production.Zipeng Jiang Weifa Su Wentao Li Chaoyue Wen Shuai Du Huan He Yu Zhang Tao Gong Xinxia Wang Yizhen Wang Mingliang Jin Zeqing Lu 2023Animal Nutrition2023,,1:0
9Preparation of reverse osmosis membrane with high permselectivity and anti-biofouling properties for desalination显示文摘High performance is essential for the polyamide(PA)reverse osmosis(RO)membranes during the desalination process.Herein,RO membranes with high permselectivity and anti-biofouling properties were fabricated by nanoparticles incorporation and anti-biofouling grafting.Hydrotalcite(HT)incorporation was performed with a dual role,enhancing water flux and acting as grafting sites.The HT incorporation increased the water flux without sacrificing the salt rejection,compensating for the loss caused by the following grafting reaction.The exposed surface of HT acted as grafting sites for anti-biofouling agent dimethyloctadecyl[3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl]ammonium chloride(DMOTPAC).The combination of HT incorporation and DMOTPAC grafting endowed RO membranes with high permselectivity and anti-biofouling properties.The water flux of the modified membrane PA-HT-0.06 was 49.8 L/m^(2)·h,which was 16.4%higher than that of the pristine membrane.The salt rejection of PA-HT-0.06 was 99.1%,which was comparable to that of the pristine membrane.As to the fouling of negatively charged lysozyme,the modified membrane’s water flux recovery was superior to that of the pristine membrane(e.g.86.8%of PA-HT-0.06 compared to 78.2%of PA-pristine).The sterilization rates of PA-HT-0.06 for E.coli and B.subtilis were 97.3%and 98.7%,much higher than those of the pristine membrane(24.0%for E.coli and 26.7%for B.subtilis).Xinxia Tian Hui Yu Jun Yang Xiaotai Zhang Man Zhao Yang Yang Wei Sun Yangyang Wei Yin Zhang Jian Wang Zhun Ma 2022Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2022,16,7:0
