| 1 | Neglected Rural Public Health Issue:The Case of Intestinal Roundworms显示文摘Despite increasing institutional and financial support,certain public health issues are still neglected by the Chinese Government.The present paper examines the soil-transmitted helminth(STH)infection and reinfection rates by conducting a survey on 1724 children in Guizhou Province,China.Our results indicate that 37.5 percent of children had been infected with one or more of the three types of tested STH.However,only 50.4 percent of children reported having taken deworming medicine during the 18-month period before the survey.Of those who reported being dewormed,34.6 percent tested positive for STH infections.Poverty and number of siblings are significantly and positively correlated with infection and reinfection,and parental education is significantly and negatively correlated with infection and reinfection.Given the ineffectiveness of treatment in these areas to date,for anthelmintic campaigns to actually succeed,China must pay more attention to locallevel incentives to improve children's health. | Linxiu Zhang Yingping Cai Xiaobing Wang Xiaochen Ma Alexis Medina D.Scott Smith Scott Rozelle | 2013 | China & World Economy2013,21,3: | 2 |

| 4 | Diflurobenzothiadiazole core-based noncovalently fused small molecule acceptor exhibiting over 12% efficiency and high fill factor显示文摘The versatility and flexibility of organic photoelectric materials endow organic photovoltaic cells fine function modulation and huge commercial potential. In this work, a new noncovalent fused-ring small molecule acceptor(SMA) BID-4 F has been synthesized for high-efficient organic solar cells(OSCs). BID-4 F consists of a diflurobenzothiadiazole(DFBT) core, ladder-like indacenodithiophene(IDT) spacers, and dicyanoindanone electron-withdrawing end groups, which are supposed to be conformationally interlocked by noncovalent interactions, leading to good molecular planarity. In addition, compact solid state stacking was revealed by UV–vis–NIR absorption spectrum. The optimized PM6:BID-4 F based device delivers an eminent power conversion efficiency(PCE) of 12.30% with a high open-circuit voltage(Voc) of 0.92 V and a high fill factor(FF) of 74.3%. Most importantly, the PCE and FF are among one of the highest values reported for the OSCs based on the unfused-ring SMAs. | 5 | Sodium butyrate alleviates fructose-induced non-alcoholic fatty liver disease by remodeling gut microbiota to promoteγ-amino butyric acid production显示文摘Sodium butyrate(NaB)can regulate lipid metabolism and inhibit hepatic steatosis.This study aimed to investigate whether NaB can alleviate fructose-induced hepat ic steatosis via remodeling the gut microbiota and evaluate the anti-fatty liver mechanisms.The results showed that NaB and NaB-remodeled gut microbiota significantly alleviated fructose-induced hepatic steatosis and increased plasma uric acid and fructose levels.Furthermore,both NaB and NaB-remodeled gut microbiota increased the abundance of Lactobacillus and altered the levels of plasma amino acids(upregulating gamma-amino butyric acid(GABA)and downregulating L-glutamic acid and L-arginine)in fructose-exposed mice.The correlation analysis showed that GABA levels positively correlated with Lactobacillus abundance,and increased GABA levels might promote the reduction of the hepatic triglyceride content.Further studies confirmed that GABA significantly reduced lipid deposition in mouse hepatocytes induced via fructose pretreatment in vitro.These findings suggested that NaB could ameliorate fructose-induced hepatic steatosis by regulating gut microbiota. | Qu Chen Lei Wu Aijia Zhang Chen Wu Liuping Cai Yingping Xiao Yingdong Ni | 2024 | Food Science and Human Wellness2024,13,2: | 0 |
