1Microwave propagation in air drilling显示文摘This paper examines the feasibility in air drilling of transmitting down-hole signals by using microwaves. Firstly the basic theory of microwave propagation in the drill-pipe or casing was studied, including power loss, cutoff wavelength, and dust scattering. Theoretical analysis indicates that the microwave propagation distance in a Ф214mm casing can easily reach 5,000 m. When the effect of dust particles is taken into account, the propagation distance decreases to 2,000 m. We conducted both laboratory experiments and field tests in casings commonly used in oilfields. The field tests show that the effective propagation distance of microwave in the casing is about 1,300 m. The experimental results do not match well with theoretical prediction, but are acceptable. In future commercial applications, by applying multiple relay amplifiers, the microwave propagation distance could be long enough for most drilling wells.Meng Xiaofeng Chen Yijian Zhou Jing Meng Yingfeng 2010Petroleum Science2010,7,3:4
2Wellbore stability analysis of layered shale based on the modified Mogi-Coulomb criterion显示文摘Borehole instability was frequently encountered during shale gas drilling.Most conventional models are not applicable to layered formation's wellbore stability analysis on account of anisotropic strength characteristic.In this study,an empirical equation for predicting anisotropic strength was implemented in the Mogi–Coulomb criterion to describe variations of cohesive strength and friction angle of shale formations.A collapse pressure model and its appropriate solution method for layered shale formations were proposed.The impact of different strength criteria and rock anisotropy type on rock strength and collapse pressure was investigated.The analysis indicated that the predicted strength of our modified criterion was usually higher than the weak plane failure criteria.The collapse pressure calculated by the modified Mogi–Coulomb criterion was lower than the weakplane failure criteria.Furthermore,it was more consistent with real mud weight.Additionally,the anisotropy type of rock notably influences wellbore stability.More significant anisotropy coefficients correspond to higher strengths,which results in smaller collapse pressure values.Improper anisotropy coefficients can over-or underpredict the collapse pressure.Reasonable estimates of collapse pressure of anisotropic rocks can be made through the modified Mogi–Coulomb criterion using limited experimental data and the anisotropy rock type.Xu Yang Xiangchao Shi Yingfeng Meng Xiaoyong Xie 2020Petroleum2020,6,3:1

4Confined compressive strength model of rock for drilling optimization显示文摘The confined compressive strength(CCS)plays a vital role in drilling optimization.On the basis of Jizba's experimental results,a new CCS model considering the effects of the porosity and nonlinear characteristics with increasing confining pressure has been developed.Because the confining pressure plays a fundamental role in determining the CCS of bottom-hole rock and because the theory of Terzaghi's effective stress principle is founded upon soil mechanics,which is not suitable for calculating the confining pressure in rock mechanics,the double effective stress theory,which treats the porosity as a weighting factor of the formation pore pressure,is adopted in this study.The new CCS model combined with the mechanical specific energy equation is employed to optimize the drilling parameters in two practical wells located in Sichuan basin,China,and the calculated results show that they can be used to identify the inefficient drilling situations of underbalanced drilling(UBD)and overbalanced drilling(OBD).Xiangchao Shi Yingfeng Meng Gao Li a Jiaxue Li Zuwen Tao Shandong Wei 2015Petroleum2015,1,1:1

8Attenuation of microwave transmission in a diameter-variable drill string bore显示文摘With the drill string hole being regarded as an ultra-long irregular lossy cylindrical waveguide, the optimal frequency point for microwave transmission was calculated according to the electromagnetic wave coupling theory, the attenuation law and efficient transmission distance of microwave channel were obtained and the microwave mode in the waveguide was analyzed. Furthermore, the channel model and signal attenuation model were established by the microwave transmission equivalent circuit method. The power attenuation coefficient per unit of length was proposed to simplify the analysis on effective transmission distance for the ultra-long drill string. The optimal frequency points of 139.7 mm(5.5 in) and 127 mm(5 in) API drill pipes are 2.04 GHz and 2.61 GHz, respectively, and there are several inner diameter varying sections and break points in the drill string hole along the axial direction. The microwave transmission suffers a lot of reflections. The channel impedance change is a key factor affecting the transmission quality. 9Development of the expressed immunoglobulinμchain repertoire during maturation of mice B cells显示文摘In the bone marrow and spleen,the developing B cell populations undergo both negative and positive selections to shape their B cell receptor repertoire.To gain insight into the shift of the immunoglobulin heavy(IgH)chain repertoire during B cell development,we undertook large scale Igμchain repertoire analysis of pre-B,immature B and spleen B cell populations.We found that the majority of VH gene segments,VH families,JH and D gene segments,were observed to have significantly different usage frequencies when three B cell populations were compared,but the usage profile of the VH,D,and JH genes between different B cell populations showed high correlations.In both productive and nonproductive rearrangements,the length of CDRH3 shortened significantly on average when B cells entered the periphery.However,the CDRH3 length distribution of nonproductive rearrangements did not follow a Gaussian distribution,but decreased successively in the order 3n–2,3n–1 and 3n,suggesting a direct correlation between mRNA stability and CDRH3 length patterns of nonproductive rearrangements.Further analysis of the individual components comprising CDRH3 of productive rearrangements indicated that the decrease in CDRH3 length was largely due to the reduction of N addition at the 5′and 3′junctions.Moreover,with development,the amino acid content of CDRH3 progressed toward fewer positively charged and nonpolar residues but more polar residues.All these data indicated that the expressed Igμchain repertoire,especially the repertoire of CDRH3,was fine-tuned when B cells passed through several checkpoints of selection during the process of maturation.Jingwen LIANG Yingfeng LUO Yi SUN Meng LEI Bing ZHANG Songnian HU Yaofeng ZHAO 2014Frontiers of Agricultural Science and Engineering2014,1,3:0
10Effect of Multi-Hydroxyl Polymer-Treated MUF Resin on the Mechanical Properties of Particleboard Manufactured with Reed Straw显示文摘The poor bonding performance between aqueous adhesives represented by melamine-urea formaldehyde(MUF)resins and reed straw hinders their applications in the field of non-wood-based panels.Multi-hydroxyl polymers are highly reactive and are often used as crosslinkers.This study fabricated a resin with a strengthened crosslinked structure by combining a multi-hydroxyl polymer and MUF resin prepolymer.The reed particleboard was prepared by using this resin as an adhesive and reed stalk as the matrix.The results show that neighboring molecules combined to form C–O–C bonds that strengthened the cross-linked structure of the resin.In addition,the viscosity of the resin was increased,and a continuous adhesive layer on the surface of reed particles was formed,which slowed the penetration of reed particles.The adhesive layer significantly improved the mechanical properties of the reed particleboard.The maximum modulus of rupture(MOR),modulus of elasticity(MOE),and internal bonding strength(IB)of the reed particleboard were 33.53,4126,and 0.79 MPa,respectively.The IB of the board was 3.3 times higher than that of the reed particleboard prepared with a conventional MUF resin.Reed straw is a non-wood biomass material that has the advantage of sustainable development and may replace woodbased materials to produce particleboard.This resin-prepared reed particleboard is expected to be used in areas such as custom furniture and engineering materials.Yuhui Huang Zhiyuan Yin Ming Liu Meng Li Yingfeng Zuo Yan Qing Yiqiang Wu 2023Journal of Renewable Materials2023,11,9:0
