2Hydrothermal synthesis of calcium sulfate whisker from flue gas desulfurization gypsum显示文摘Plenty of flue gas desulfurization(FGD) gypsum generated from coal-fired power plants for sulfur dioxide sequestration caused many environmental issues. Preparing calcium sulfate whisker(CSW) from FGD gypsum by hydrothermal synthesis is considered to be a promising approach to solve this troublesome problem and utilize calcium sulfate in a high-value-added way. The effects of particle size of FGD gypsum, slurry concentration,and additives on CSW were investigated in this work. The results indicated that fine particle size of FGD gypsum and moderately high slurry concentration were beneficial for crystal nucleation and growth. Three additives of magnesium chloride, citric acid, and sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate(SDBS) were employed in this study. It was found that mean length and aspect ratio of CSW were both decreased by the usage of magnesium chloride,while a small quantity of citric acid or SDBS could improve the CSW morphology. When multi-additives of citric acid-SDBS were employed, the mean length and aspect ratio increased more than 20%. 3Yin Yang 1(YY1) synergizes with Smad7 to inhibit TGF-β signaling in the nucleus显示文摘As a prototype of the TGF-βsuperfamily cytokines,TGF-βis well known for its diverse roles in embryogenesis and adult tissue homeostasis.TGF-βevokes cellular responses by signaling mainly through cell membrane receptors and transcription factor R-Smads and Co-Smad(Smad4),while an inhibitory Smad,Smad7,acts as a critical negative regulator of TGF-βsignaling.Smad7 antagonizes TGF-βsignaling by regulating the stability or activity of the receptors or blocking the DNA binding of the functional R-Smad-Smad4 complex in the nucleus.However,the function of Smad7 in the nucleus is not fully understood.Yin Yang 1(YY1)is a ubiquitously expressed transcription factor with multiple functions.It has been reported that YY1 can inhibit Smad-dependent transcriptional responses and TGF-β/BMP-induced cell differentiation independently of its DNA binding ability.In this study,we found that Smad7 interacts with YY1 and the interaction is attenuated by TGF-βsignaling.Reporter assays and target gene expression analyses revealed that Smad7 and YY1 act in concert to inhibit TGF-β-induced transcription in the nucleus.Furthermore,Smad7 could enhance the interaction of YY1 with the histone deacetylase HDAC1.Consistently,YY1 and HDAC1 augmented the transcription repression activity of Smad7 in Gal4-luciferase reporter analysis.Therefore,our findings define a novel mechanism of Smad7 and YY1 to antagonize TGF-βsignaling.YAN XiaoHua PAN Jun XIONG WanWan CHENG MinZhang SUN YingYuan ZHANG SuPing CHEN YeGuang 2014Science China(Life Sciences)2014,57,1:10
4Effects of Injection Angles and Aperture Ratios on Film Cooling Performance of Sister Holes显示文摘In this paper,to analyze the influences of the injection angles and aperture ratios (AR) of the primary hole and the side hole on the film cooling performance of a flat plate model,pressure sensitive paint (PSP) technology was used to study the forward and backward jet of a single hole and four sister holes,and a numerical simulation was supplemented to explore the flow structure of the sister holes.The sister holes had a better film cooling performance than the cylindrical hole at all blowing ratios (BR).The backward jet of the primary hole or the side hole could increase the spanwise film coverage of the sister hole.In this study,with the primary hole featuring a backward jet and the side hole featuring a forward jet,the film cooling performance was the best,11.9 times higher than the areal mean film cooling efficiency of the cylindrical hole when AR=1 and BR=1.5.At a low blowing ratio,the counter-rotating vortex pair (CRVP) of the side hole could suppress the strength of the CRVP of the primary hole.At a high blowing ratio,when the primary hole featured a backward jet and the side hole featured a forward jet,the CRVP of the side hole had the optimal performance for suppressing the CRVP of the primary hole.LI Mingchun HE Yeguang LI Rundong YANG Tianhua 2021Journal of Thermal Science2021,30,2:1

8Evolution and deformability of inclusions in Al-killed steel with rare earth-alkali metals(Ca or Mg) combined treatment显示文摘The quality of stainless steel is closely related to the deformability of inclusions,which is significantly affected by their compositions.The present study first inve stigated the evolution of inclusion compositions in AI-killed steel with rare earth-alkali metals(Ca or Mg)combined treatme nt through four laboratory-scale experiments.The Ce contents in the final steel are 0.0080 wt%,0.015 wt%,0.016 wt%and 0.010 wt%,respectively.The Mg content is 0.0014 wt%in Ce-Mg combined treated steel,and the Ca content is0.0015 wt%in Ce-Ca combined treated steel.The deformability of inclusions in both Ce_(2)O_(3)-Al_(2)O_(3)-CaO and Ce_(2)O_(3)-Al_(2)O_(3)-MgO systems was subsequently evaluated by calculating their Young's modulus at low temperature.The results show that irregular Al_(2)O_(3)and MgAl_(2)O_(4)with poor deformability are modified to CeAlO_(3)and Ce_(2)O_(3)by Ce treatment,resulting in the decrease of Young's modulus of inclusions.The deformability of inclusions is further improved due to the transformation from lumped-like CeAlO_(3)to spherical CaO-Al_(2)O_(3)-Ce_(2)O_(3)caused by Ca treatment,and some of these inclusions are the ones with low liquidus temperature.Thermodynamic analysis was used to discuss the control condition of the formation and evolution of inclusions.Accordingly,the appropriate addition amounts of Al,Mg,Ce,and Ca are expected to control inclusion compositions and properties,including deformability and liquidus temperature,thereby improving the steel performance.Yeguang Wang Chengjun Liu 2023Journal of Rare Earths2023,41,9:1

13Impact Increment Based Hybrid Reliability Assessment Method for Transmission Systems显示文摘This paper proposes an impact-increment-based hybrid(IIHybrid)reliability assessment approach for power transmission systems.The proposed approach integrates the advantages of the impact-increment-based state enumeration method(IISE)and impact-increment-based Monte Carlo simulation(IIMC)to improve computational efficiency and accuracy.The IISE can efficiently assess the impacts of low-order contingencies.The accuracy is,however,sacrificed as highorder contingencies are usually neglected.The IIMC is more suitable for large-scale contingency spaces compared with IISE,although the calculation process is time-consuming.In this paper,the proposed IIHybrid takes advantage of its strengths while avoiding its shortcomings.The IISE and the IIMC are applied to lower and higher contingency spaces respectively.The high-order contingencies elimination technique proposed in our previous studies is still applicable to the IIHybrid.In addition,efficiency can be controlled by modifying the preset parameters to adapt to various scenarios.Case studies are performed on the IEEE 118-bus test system and PEGASE System.The results show that the proposed approach is more efficient and practicable than traditional methods.Yunkai Lei Yeguang Sun Kai Hou Pei Zhang Lewei Zhu Xiaoxi Yang Xiaonan Liu 2022CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2022,8,1:1
14Cognitive function of 320 people over 65 years from longevous areas in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region: Feasibility of the mini-mental state examination显示文摘BACKGROUND: Mini-mental state examination (MMSE) of Chinese version has been widely used to survey cognitive function of elder people; especially, it shows a good reliability and validity for elder people in city. However, whether it is beneficial to measure cognitive function of elder people in countries in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region should be further studied. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the feasibility, reliability and validity of the cognitive function among the elderly people aged over 65 years from Jiazhuan in Bama County of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region by using the MMSE of Chinese version. DESIGN: Prevalence survey. SETTING: Department of Psychology, Nanjing Municipal Social Welfare Hospital; Department of Psychology, Yizhou Municipal Jiulong Railroad Hospital; Long Life's Institute of Bama County. PARTICIPANTS: A total of 320 old persons over 65 years old were sampled on the basis of the unit of village of Jiazhuan in Bama County of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region from the 12th to 28th, March 2004. All the subjects provided the confirmed consents. METHODS: ① Mental Health Questionnaire of long life's old man was adopted including demographic data and international standardized MMSE in Chinese. The survey of MMSE was divided into two phases: In the first phase, every case was examined by MMSE. The positive result was decided by the education level. Illiterate group, who was educated less than one year, then his MMSE scores must be less than 17; primary school group, who was educated from 1 to 6 years, then his MMSE must be less than 20; middle school group, who was educated more than 7 years, then his MMSE must be less than 24. In the second phase, these cases with positive MMSE score were given the neuro-psycho and mental health examination to confirm the dementia types after diagnosis. The content of the questionnaire was revised properly without changing the meaning of the questionnaire. The interclass correlation coefficient of MMSE was 0.89. ② Descriptive statistics, Chi-square test, t test, multiple stepwise regression analysis was used in the study. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ① Comparisons of total scores of MMSE based on various educational degrees, sexes and ages; ② sensitivity and specificity of MMSE; ③ effect of Logistic multiple regression analysis on MMSE. RESULTS: A total of 320 questionnaires were sent out, and 318 qualified ones were retrieved after eliminating 2 not fully filled with efficient rate of 99.4%. There were 126 males and 192 females with the mean age of (86±8) years. In addition, there were 259 (81%) cases of illiteracy, 51 (16%) cases with primary school education and 8 (2%) cases with middle school education. ① Total scores of MMSE based on various educational degrees, sexes and ages: The scores of the illiteracy group were (19.37±4.28), primary school group (24.82±3.84), middle school group (25.13±5.19); the positive rates of the illiteracy group were the highest, the middle school group the higher, and the primary school group the lowest. The total scores of male MMSE were obviously higher than the female, which had significant differences [(22.33±5.61), (19.12±3.53), P < 0.01]. There was no significant difference in the total scores of MMSE among the 65-74, 75-79 and 80-84 years old groups (P > 0.05); the total scores were gradually decreased with the age over 85 years. ② There were only 2 examinees were diagnosed as dementia after investigation, and 80 ones with positive scores, inducing the sensitivity of MMSE was 100%, while its specificity was 75.32%. ③ The regression equation: Y (age) =91.204+4.196 ×(often doing exercise or not) -1.827 ×(education level) -3.357×(self-mental impression) + 1.527 ×(frequency of visiting neighbors) was obtained from the Logistic multiple stepwise regression analysis influenced the cognitive function, indicating that the age of the old people in that area was positively related to the frequency of visiting their neighbor, but was negatively related to the education level and self-mental impression.
