6Characteristics of change in water quality along reclaimed water intake area of the Chaobai River in Beijing, China显示文摘To reveal the basic characteristics and controlling factors of water quality change in the project Wenyu to Chaobai reclaimed water diversion, the water quality in the study area was monitored for one year at seven monitoring sites. Inverse geochemical models of the statistical groups were developed using PHREEQC to elucidate the hydrochemistry characteristics of reclaimed water and the factors. The monitoring results indicated that nitrogen and phosphorus contents were significantly reduced along the river mainly caused by seasonal and location variation. The pH ranged from 7.44 to 9.81. Photosynthesis of algae and denitrification in anaerobic microenvironment ultimately led to a sudden p H increase after the Jian River and the Chaobai River confluence. Mg^(2+)and SO_4^(2-) levels dropped obviously in the summer and increased in winter seasons after intersection. Na+and Cl-are relatively stable, and marked drop in the concentration only after the two rivers meet. And there is a decrease of Ca^(2+) and HCO^(3-) and increase in CO_3^(2-) during monitoring period. As a whole, the primary ions and nutrient components, including nitrogen and phosphorus, had high levels in winter. Algae's photosynthesis and respiration were observed to have an impact on the river water quality; there was precipitation–dissolution of minerals and denitrification from upstream to downstream. 7Overexpression of connective tissue growth factor WISP-1 in Chinese primary rectal cancer patients显示文摘AIM: To clarify the expression change of Wnt-induced secreted protein-1 (WISP-1) in human rectal cancer and to determine whether it is correlated with invasion and metastasis of human rectal cancer. METHODS: Eighty-six paired samples of rectal cancer and surgically resected distant normal rectal tissue were collected and allocated into cancer group and control group respectively. WISP-1 mRNA was detected by relative quantitative real-time RT-PCR and WISP-1 protein was examined by immunohistochemical staining. RESULTS: WISP-1 gene overexpression was found in 65% (56/86) primary rectal cancers, 2-30 times that of the level in normal matched rectal tissues (P = 0.001). The mRNA expression level was correlated with Duke's staging, histological differentiation grade and lymph node status. The WISP-1 protein expression was in accordance with mRNA expression level. The positive degree of immunohistochemical staining in the cancer group (1.40 ± 0.35) was different from that in control group (1.04 ± 0.08, P < 0.001). Moreover, in cancer group the positive staining degree in high-level mRNA cancers (1.46 ± 0.37, n = 56) was higher than that in low-level mRNA (1.28 ± 0.28, n = 30, P = 0.018). CONCLUSION: Aberrant levels of WISP-1 expressionmay play a role in rectal tumorigenesis. 8Is routine drainage necessary after pancreaticoduodenectomy?显示文摘With the development of imaging technology and surgical techniques, pancreatic resections to treat pancreatic tumors, ampulla tumors, and other pancreatic diseases have increased. Pancreaticoduodenectomy, one type of pancreatic resection, is a complex surgery with the loss of pancreatic integrity and various anastomoses. Complications after pancreaticoduodenectomy such as pancreatic fistulas and anastomosis leakage are common and significantly associated with patient outcomes. Pancreatic fistula is one of the most important postoperative complications; this condition can cause intraperitoneal hemorrhage, septic shock, or even death. An effective way has not yet been found to avoid the occurrence of pancreatic fistula. In most medical centers, the frequency of pancreatic fistula has remained between 9% and 13%. The early detection and routine drainage of anastomotic fistulas, pancreatic fistulas, bleeding, or other intra-abdominal fluid collections after pancreatic resections are considered as important and effective ways to reduce postoperative complications and the mortality rate. However, many recent studies have argued that routine drainage after abdominal operations, including pancreaticoduodenectomies, does not affect the incidence of postoperative complications. Although inserting drains after pancreatic resectionscontinues to be a routine procedure, its necessity remains controversial. 9Accuracy of routine multidetector computed tomography to identify arterial variants in patients scheduled for pancreaticoduodenectomy显示文摘AIM:To assess the efficacy of cross-sectional multidetector computed tomography(MDCT) imaging without arterialreconstruction to identify aberrant right hepatic artery(RHA) and celiac artery stenosis(CAS) in patients scheduled for pancreaticoduodenectomy.METHODS:Patients with peri-ampullary and pancreatic head tumors who underwent routine preoperative MDCT and subsequent computed tomography(CT) angiography(CTA),conventional angiography or pancreaticoduodenectomy between September 2007 and August 2013 were identified.Retrospective analysis of imaging data was undertaken using CTA,conventional angiographic and surgical findings as the reference standards.The accuracy,sensitivity,specificity,positive predictive value(PPV) and negative predictive value(NPV) of MDCT in evaluation of aberrant RHA and CAS were calculated.RESULTS:A group of 458 patients met the inclusion criteria of this study to detect aberrant RHA,and 181 cases were included to identify CAS.Fifty-four(11.8%) patients were confirmed to have aberrant RHA,while 12(6.6%) patients with CAS were demonstrated.MDCT yielded an accuracy of 98.5%,sensitivity of 96.3% and specificity of 98.8% in the detection of aberrant RHA.The sensitivity,specificity,PPV and NPV of MDCT for detecting CAS were 58.3%,98.2%,70% and 97.1%,respectively.CONCLUSION:Routine MDCT is recommended such that surgeons and radiologists be alerted to the importance of arterial variants on preoperative CT scans in patients scheduled for pancreaticoduodenectomy.Feng Yang Yang Di Ji Li Xiao-Yi Wang Lie Yao Si-Jie Hao Yong-Jian Jiang Chen Jin De-Liang Fu 2015World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,3:6
10Stability Analysis on Rotor Systems Supported by Self-acting Tilting-pad Gas Bearings with Frequency Effects显示文摘The recent research on stability of gas bearing-rotor systems still mostly adopts the same method as in oil-lubricated bearing-rotor systems.The dynamic coefficients of gas bearings in the case that the perturbation frequencies are same as the rotating speed are used to carry out the stability analysis of rotor systems.This method does not contact the frequency characteristics of dynamic stiffness and damping coefficients of gas bearings with the dynamical behaviors of rotor systems.Furthermore,the effects of perturbation frequencies on the stability of systems are not taken into account.In this paper,the dynamic stiffness and damping coefficients of tilting-pad gas bearings are calculated by the partial derivative method.On the base of solution of dynamic coefficients,two computational models are produced for stability analysis on rotor systems supported by tilting-pad gas bearings according to whether the degrees of the freedom of pads tilting motions are included in the equations of motion or not.In the condition of considering the frequency effects of dynamic coefficients of tilting-pad gas bearings,the corresponding eigenvalues of the rigid and first five vibration modes of the system with the working speeds of 8-30 kr/min are computed through iteratively solving the equations of motion of rotor-system by using two computational models,respectively.According to the obtained eigenvalues,the stability of rotor system is analyzed.The results indicate that the eigenvalues and the stability of rotor system obtained by these two computational models are well agreement each other.They all can more accurately analyze the stability of rotor systems supported by tilting-pad gas bearings.This research has important meaning for perfecting the stability analysis method of rotor systems supported by gas bearings.YANG Lihua QI Shemiao GENG Haipeng YU Lie 2011Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2011,24,3:4
11Ca(NO3)2 canopy spraying during physiological fruit drop period has a better influence on the tree character and fruit quality of Newhall navel orange(Citrus sinensis Osbeck)显示文摘This study aimed to provide a theoretical basis for adopting suitable cultivation measures to tackle calcium(Ca) deficiency in citrus leaves. The Newhall navel orange(Citrus sinensis Osbeck) canopy was sprayed with 20.0 mmol L^(-1) of Ca(NO_3)_2 during physiological fruit drop period, fruit expanding period, and fruit maturing period on 30, 90, and 210 days after full bloom(DAFB), respectively, and its effects on leaf gas exchange parameters and leaf mineral nutrition and fruit quality were analyzed. The results showed that:(1) The photosynthetic rate(ACO_2) at 9:00 a.m. and 16:00 p.m. of fruit expanding period with 30 and 90 DAFB Ca(NO_3)_2 treatments slightly or significantly improved mainly by decreasing stomatal limitation and nonstomatal limitation, respectively.(2) Compared with control(CK), the Ca concentration in leaves with 30, 90, and 240 DAFB Ca(NO_3)_2 treatments increased by 127.16, 97.53, and 33.33%, respectively, and the leaf magnesium concentration also increased by more than 32.26%. However, Ca(NO_3)_2 canopy spraying on 30 DAFB significantly reduced the leaf potassium concentration, by 22.14% compared with CK.(3) Ca(NO_3)_2 canopy spraying on 30 DAFB decreased the second fruit drop rate by 30.55% and increased the weight per fruit by 25.04%, thus resulting in a significant increase in citrus yield.(4) Spraying Ca(NO3) on 30 DAFB mainly affected the metabolism of titratable acid(TA) to improve the maturity of citrus fruits. Whilst it improved the external quality and the coloring of citrus fruit significantly. 13Kruppel-like factor 10 protects against acute viral myocarditis by negatively regulating cardiac MCP-1 expression显示文摘Viral myocarditis(VMC)is a cardiac disease associated with myocardial inflammation and injury induced by virus infection.Cardiomyocytes have recently been regarded as key players in eliciting and modulating inflammation within the myocardium.Kruppel-like factor 10(KLF10)is a crucial regulator of various pathological processes and plays different roles in a variety of diseases.However,its role in VMC induced by coxsackievirus B3(CVB3)infection remains unknown.In this study,we report that cardiac KLF10 confers enhanced protection against viral myocarditis.We found that KLF10 expression was downregulated upon CVB3 infection.KLF10 deficiency enhanced cardiac viral replication and aggravated VMC progress.Bone marrow chimera experiments indicated that KLF10 expression in nonhematopoietic cells was involved in the pathogenesis of VMC.We further identified MCP-1 as a novel target of KLF10 in cardiomyocytes,and KLF10 cooperated with histone deacetylase 1(HDAC1)to negatively regulate MCP-1 expression by binding its promoter,leading to activation of MCP-1 transcription and recruitment of Ly6C^(high) monocytes/macrophages into the myocardium.This novel mechanism of MCP-1 regulation by KLF10 might provide new insights into the pathogenesis of VMC and a potential therapeutic target for VMC.Jie Yang Hongkai Zhang Xuelian Wang Jing Guo Lin Wei Yahui Song Yuan Luo YinXia Zhao Malayannan Subramaniam Thomas C.Spelsberg Lie Wang Wei Xu Min Li 2021Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,9:3
14Sperm function tests after vasovasostomy显示文摘Aim: To evaluate the sperm function after vasovasostomy. Methods: Semen samples from 42 subjects after vasovasostomy (Group A: 1 -6 months, Group B: 6 - 12 months; Group C: 12 - 18 months after vasectomy reversal) were investigated. Semen from 34 normal fertile men was used as controls. Sperm function tests, including hyposmotic swelling test (HOST), acridine orange (AO) fluorescence, acrosome reaction (triple-stain), cervical mucus penetration test (CMPT), etc were done. Results: After vasectomy reversal, the percentage of HOST was significantly lower than that of the normal fertile men. In regard to AO, there were no significant differences between the three vasovasostomy groups and between these 3 groups and the controls. With triple-stain, the percentage of normal acrosome reaction was significantly lower in Group A as compared with the controls, but not in Groups B and C. There were no significant differences in the results of CMPT between the vasovasostomy groups and the controls. However, the number of 'poor' type was significantly higher in Groups A and C than in the controls; the percentage of 'negafive' type were higher in Groups A and B than in the controls. Conclusion: After vasovasostomy a lower level of HOST remained for one year and gradually recovered after one year. Six months after vasectomy reversal, the percentage of acrosome reaction could be changed from lower level to normal range. The data of AO indicated that the genetic material (double-stranded DNA) in spermatozoa was not affected by vasovasostomy. 18Color-preserving passive radiative cooling for an actively temperature-regulated enclosure显示文摘Active temperature control devices are widely used for the thermal management of enclosures,including vehicles and buildings.Passive radiative cooling has been extensively studied;however,its integration with existing actively temperature regulated and decorative enclosures has slipped out of the research at status quo.Here,we present a photonic-engineered dual-side thermal management strategy for reducing the active power consumption of the existing temperature-regulated enclosure without sacrificing its aesthetics.By coating the exterior and interior of the enclosure roof with two visible-transparent films with distinctive wavelength-selectivity,simultaneous control over the energy exchange among the enclosure with the hot sun,the cold outer space,the atmosphere,and the active cooler can be implemented.A power-saving of up to 63%for active coolers of the enclosure is experimentally demonstrated by measuring the heat flux compared to the ordinary enclosure when the set temperature is around 26℃.This photonic-engineered dual-side thermal management strategy offers facile integration with the existing enclosures and represents a new paradigm toward carbon neutrality.Yining Zhu Hao Luo Chenying Yang Bing Qin Pintu Ghosh Sandeep Kaur Weidong Shen Min Qiu Pavel Belov Qiang Lie 2022Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,6:2
19An Organic Solvent-free Approach towards PDI/Carbon Cloth Composites as Flexible Lithium Ion Battery Cathodes显示文摘An acidic solution based method towards flexible lithium ion battery(LIB)cathodes is developed in this work with perylene diimide(PDI)as the electroactive component and carbon cloth(CC)as the current collector.In this approach,PDI is firstly dispersed in concentrated sulfuric acid(H2S04)and then deposited on CC substrate after the dilution of H2S04,which provides an organic solvent-free strategy to construct integrated LIB cathodes.The acdic solution based fabrication process also allows the facile adjusting of loading amounts of PDI in the cathodes,which can effectively influence the battery performances of the PDI/CC cathodes.As the result,the acidic solution processed PDI/CC cathode can deliver a high specific capacity of-36 mAh·g^-1 at the current density of 50 mA·g^-1 in both half cell with lithium foil as anode and full cell with pre-lithiated CC as anode.In both types of the batteries,the PDI/CC cathodes show good cycling stabilities by retaining^84%of the initial capacities after 300 charge-discharge cycles at 500 mA·g^-1.Additionally,the excellent mechanical stability of the PDI/CC cathode enables the LIBs in pouch cell to maintain the electrochemical performances under various bending states,demonstrating their potentials for flexible LIBs.Dong-Qing Wu Deng Lu Peng Yang Lie Ma Biao Jiang Xin Xi Fan-Cheng Meng Wen-Bei Zhang Fan Zhang Qian-Qian Zhong Rui-Li Liu 2020Chinese Journal of Polymer Science2020,38,5:1
