2Movement and strain conditions of active blocks in the Chinese mainland显示文摘The definition of active block is given from the angles of crustal deformation and strain. The movement and strain parameters of active blocks are estimated according to the unified velocity field composed of the velocities at 1598 GPS stations obtained from GPS measurements carried out in the past years in the Chinese mainland and the surrounding areas. The movement and strain conditions of the blocks are analyzed. The active blocks in the Chinese mainland have a consistent E-trending movement component, but its N and S components are not consistent. The blocks in the western part have a consistent N-trending movement and the blocks in the eastern part have a consistent S-trending movement. In the area to the east of 90°E, that is the area from Himalayas block towards NE, the movement direction of the blocks rotates clockwisely and the movement rates of the blocks are different. Generally, the movement rate is large in the west and south and small in the east and north with a difference of 3 to 4 times between the rates in the west and east. The distributions of principal compressive strain directions of the blocks are also different. The principal strain of the blocks located to the west of 90oE is basically in the SN direction, the principal compressive strain of the blocks in the northeastern part of Qingzang plateau is roughly in the NE direction and the direction of principal compressive strain of the blocks in the southeastern part of Qingzang plateau rounds clockwisely the east end of Himalayas structure. In addition, the principal strain and shear strain rates of the blocks are also different. The Himalayas and Tianshan blocks have the largest principal compressive strain and the maximum shear strain rate. Then, Lhasa, Qiangtang, Southwest Yunnan (SW Yunnan), Qilian and Sichuan-Yunan (Chuan-Dian) blocks followed. The strain rate of the blocks in the eastern part is smaller. The estimation based on the stain condition indicates that Himalayas block is still the area with the most intensive tectonic activity and it shortens in the NS direction at the rate of 15.2±1.5 mm/a. Tianshan block ranks the second and it shortens in the NS direction at the rate of 10.1±0.9 mm/a. At present, the two blocks are still uprising. It can be seen from superficial strain that the Chinese mainland is predominated by superficial expansion. Almost the total area in the eastern part of the Chinese mainland is expanded, while in the western part, the superficial compression and expansion are alternatively distributed from the south to the north. In the Chinese mainland, most EW-trending or proximate EW-trending faults have the left-lateral or left-lateral strike-slip relative movements along both sides, and most NS-trending faults have the right-lateral or right-lateral strike-slip relative movements along both sides. According to the data from GPS measurements the left-lateral strike-slip rate is 4.8±1.3 mm/a in the central part of Altun fault and 9.8±2.2 mm/a on Xianshuihe fault. The movement of the fault along the block boundary has provided the condition for block movement, so the movements of the block and its boundary are consistent, but the movement levels of the blocks are different. The statistic results indicate that the relative movement between most blocks is quite significant, which proves that active blocks exist. Himalayas, Tianshan, Qiangtang and SW Yunnan blocks have the most intensive movement; China-Mongolia, China-Korea (China-Korea), Alxa and South China blocks are rather stable. The mutual action of India, Pacific and Philippine Sea plates versus Eurasia plate is the principal driving force to the block movement in the Chinese mainland. Under the NNE-trending intensive press from India plate, the crustal matter of Qingzang plateau moves to the NNE and NE directions, then is hindered by the blocks located in the northern, northeastern and eastern parts. 4Deregulation of brain insulin signaling in Alzheimer's disease显示文摘Contrary to the previous belief that insulin does not act in the brain, studies in the last three decades have demonstrated important roles of insulin and insulin signal transduction in various functions of the central nervous system. Deregulated brain insulin signaling and its role in molecular pathogenesis have recently been reported in Alzheimer's disease(AD). In this article, we review the roles of brain insulin signaling in memory and cognition, the metabolism of amyloid β precursor protein, and tau phosphorylation. We further discuss defi ciencies of brain insulin signaling and glucose metabolism, their roles in the development of AD, and recent studies that target the brain insulin signaling pathway for the treatment of AD. It is clear now that deregulation of brain insulin signaling plays an important role in the development of sporadic AD. 5Deep-learning-based phase control method for tiled aperture coherent beam combining systems显示文摘We incorporate deep learning(DL)into tiled aperture coherent beam combining(CBC)systems for the first time,to the best of our knowledge.By using a well-trained convolutional neural network DL model,which has been constructed at a non-focal-plane to avoid the data collision problem,the relative phase of each beamlet could be accurately estimated,and then the phase error in the CBC system could be compensated directly by a servo phase control system.The feasibility and extensibility of the phase control method have been demonstrated by simulating the coherent combining of different hexagonal arrays.This DL-based phase control method offers a new way of eliminating dynamic phase noise in tiled aperture CBC systems,and it could provide a valuable reference on alleviating the long-standing problem that the phase control bandwidth decreases as the number of array elements increases.Tianyue Hou Yi An Qi Chang Pengfei Ma Jun Li Dong Zhi Liangjin Huang Rongtao Su Jian Wu Yanxing Ma Pu Zhou 2019High Power Laser Science and Engineering2019,7,4:10
6High power all-fiberized and narrow-bandwidth MOPA system by tandem pumping strategy for thermally induced mode instability suppression显示文摘An all-fiberized and narrow-bandwidth master oscillator power amplification(MOPA) system with record output power of 4 kW level and slope efficiency of 78% is demonstrated. Tandem pumping strategy is tentatively introduced into the narrow-bandwidth MOPA system for thermally induced mode instability(TMI) suppression. The stimulated Brillouin scattering(SBS) effect is balanced by simply using one-stage phase modulation technique. With different phase modulation signals, SBS limited output powers of 336 W, 1.2 kW and 3.94 kW are respectively achieved with spectral bandwidths accounting for 90% power of ~0.025, 0.17 and ~0.89 nm. Compared with our previous 976 nm pumping system, TMI threshold is overall boosted to be >5 times in which tandem pumping increases the TMI threshold of >3times. The beam quality(M~2 factor) of the output laser is well within 1.5 below the TMI threshold while it is ultimately saturated to be 1.86 with the influence of TMI at maximal output power. Except for SBS and TMI, stimulated Raman scattering(SRS) effect will be another challenge for further power scaling. 7Deep-learning-assisted, two-stage phase control method for high-power mode-programmable orbital angular momentum beam generation显示文摘High-power mode-programmable orbital angular momentum(OAM)beams have received substantial attention in recent years.They are widely used in optical communication,nonlinear frequency conversion,and laser processing.To overcome the power limitation of a single beam,coherent beam combining(CBC)of laser arrays is used.However,in specific CBC systems used to generate structured light with a complex wavefront,eliminating phase noise and realizing flexible phase modulation proved to be difficult challenges.In this paper,we propose and demonstrate a two-stage phase control method that can generate OAM beams with different topological charges from a CBC system.During the phase control process,the phase errors are preliminarily compensated by a deep-learning(DL)network,and further eliminated by an optimization algorithm.Moreover,by modulating the expected relative phase vector and cost function,all-electronic flexible programmable switching of the OAM mode is realized.Results indicate that the proposed method combines the characteristics of DL for undesired convergent phase avoidance and the advantages of the optimization algorithm for accuracy improvement,thereby ensuring the high mode purity of the generated OAM beams.This work could provide a valuable reference for future implementation of high-power,fast switchable structured light generation and manipulation.TIANYUE HOU YI AN QI CHANG PENGFEI MA JUN LI LIANGJIN HUANG DONG ZHI JIAN WU RONGTAO SU YANXING MA PU ZHOU 2020Photonics Research2020,8,5:8
8A highly potent and stable pan-coronavirus fusion inhibitor as a candidate prophylactic and therapeutic for COVID-19 and other coronavirus diseases显示文摘The development of broad-spectrum antivirals against human coronaviruses(HCoVs)is critical to combat the current coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)and its variants,as well as future outbreaks of emerging CoVs.We have previously identified a polyethylene glycol-conjugated(PEGylated)lipopeptide,EK1C4,with potent pan-CoV fusion inhibitory activity.However,PEG linkers in peptide or protein drugs may reduce stability or induce anti-PEG antibodies in vivo.Therefore,we herein report the design and synthesis of a series of dePEGylated lipopeptide-based pan-CoV fusion inhibitors featuring the replacement of the PEG linker with amino acids in the heptad repeat 2 C-terminal fragment(HR2-CF)of HCoV-OC43.Among these lipopeptides,EKL1C showed the most potent inhibitory activity against infection by SARS-CoV-2 and its spike(S)mutants,as well as other HCoVs and some bat SARS-related coronaviruses(SARSr-CoVs)tested.The dePEGylated lipopeptide EKL1C exhibited significantly stronger resistance to proteolytic enzymes,better metabolic stability in mouse serum,higher thermostability than the PEGylated lipopeptide EK1C4,suggesting that EKL1C could be further developed as a candidate prophylactic and therapeutic for COVID-19 and other coronavirus diseases.Jie Zhou Wei Xu Zezhong Liu Chao Wang Shuai Xia Qiaoshuai Lan Yanxing Cai Shan Su Jing Pu Lixiao Xing Youhua Xie Lu Lu Shibo Jiang Qian Wang 2022Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,4:5

10High-peak-power temporally shaped nanosecond fiber laser immune to SPM-induced spectral broadening显示文摘High-peak-power transform-limited narrow-linewidth nanosecond all-fiber lasers are desired in a range of applications.However,their linewidths will be broadened by self-phase modulation(SPM).We propose a novel concept that generates transform-limited laser pulses by temporally shaping the pulse seed.The impact of the pulse shape on SPM-induced spectral broadening was studied numerically and experimentally.It was found theoretically that the square-shape pulsed laser is immune to SPM-induced spectral broadening.Based on this principle,we built a high-peak-power,linearly polarized,square-shape nanosecond all-fiber laser in a master oscillator power amplifier(MOPA)configuration.Stimulated Brillouin scattering(SBS)limited peak powers of 4.02 kW,5.06 kW,6.52 kW and 9.30 kW were obtained at pulse widths of 8 ns,7 ns,6 ns and 5 ns.Thanks to the square-shape pulsed seed,the linewidths at maximum peak power remained at 129.5 MHz,137.6 MHz,156.2 MHz and 200.1 MHz,respectively,close to the transform-limited values of110.8 MHz,126.6 MHz,147.7 MHz and 177.3 MHz.Rongtao Su Pengfei Ma Pu Zhou Zilun Chen Xiaolin Wang Yanxing Ma Jian Wu Xiaojun Xu 2019High Power Laser Science and Engineering2019,7,2:4
11Selective adsorption of silver ions from aqueous solution using polystyrene-supported trimercaptotriazine resin显示文摘Trimercaptotriazine-functionalized polystyrene chelating resin was prepared and employed for the adsorption of Ag(I)from aqueous solution.The adsorbent was characterized according to the following techniques:Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,elemental analysis,scanning electron microscopy and the Brunauer-Emmet-Teller method.The effects of initial Ag(I)concentration,contact time,solution pH and coexisting ions on the adsorption capacity of Ag(I)were systematically investigated.The maximum adsorption capacity of Ag(I)was up to 187.1 mg/g resin at pH 0.0 and room temperature.The kinetic experiments indicated that the adsorption rate of Ag(I)onto the chelating resin was quite fast in the first 60 min and reached adsorption equilibrium after 360min.The adsorption process can be well described by the pseudo second-order kinetic model and the equilibrium adsorption isotherm was closely fitted by the Langmuir model.Moreover,the chelating resin could selectively adsorb more Ag(I)ions than other heavy metal ions including:Cu(II),Zn(II),Ni(II),Pb(II)and Cr(III)during competitive adsorption in the binary metal species systems,which indicated that it was a highly selective adsorbent of Ag(I)from aqueous solution.Shiming Wang Hongling Li Xiaoya Chen Min Yang Yanxing Qi 2012Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,12:4

13Comprehensive investigation on producing high-power orbital angular momentum beams by coherent combining technology显示文摘High-power orbital angular momentum(OAM)beams have distinct advantages in improving capacity and data receiving for free-space optical communication systems at long distances.Utilizing the coherent combination of a beam array technique and helical phase approximation by a piston phase array,we have proposed a generating system for a novel high-power beam carrying OAM,which could overcome the power limitations of a common vortex phase modulator and a single beam.The characteristics of this generating method and the orthogonality of the generated OAM beams with different eigenstates have been theoretically analyzed and verified.Also a high-power OAM beam produced by coherent beam combination(CBC)of a six-element hexagonal fiber amplifier array has been experimentally implemented.Results show that the CBC technique utilized to control the piston phase differences among the array beams has a high efficiency of 96.3%.On the premise of CBC,we have obtained novel vortex beams carrying OAM of±1 by applying an additional piston phase array modulation on the corresponding beam array.The experimental results agree approximately with the theoretical analysis.This work could be beneficial to areas that need high-power OAM beams,such as ultra-long distance free-space optical communications,biomedical treatments,and powerful trapping and manipulation under deep potential wells.Dong Zhi Tianyue Hou Pengfei Ma Yanxing Ma Pu Zhou Rumao Tao Xiaolin Wang Lei Si 2019High Power Laser Science and Engineering2019,7,2:3
14Nonlinear photoresponse of metallic graphene-like VSe2 ultrathin nanosheets for pulse laser generation显示文摘Vanadium diselenide(VSe2), a typical metallic behaviour material among transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDCs) family, exhibits excellent photoelectric characteristics with a zero band gap, missing applicaiotn in pulse generation. In this work, a high-quality VSe2 saturable absorber(SA) was synthesized through a liquid-phase exfoliation method. The saturable absorption of obtained VSe2-SA was characterized systematically. The measured modulation depth was 9.9%, and the saturated intensity was 533.8 μJ/cm2. By incorporating this optical modulator into a ytterbium-doped fiber laser cavity, a stable passively Q-switched laser could be achieved. The pulse had the central wavelength of 1064.03 nm. As the pump power was increased, the repetition rate increased from 24.3 k Hz to 35.6 k Hz, and the pulse duration decreased from7.21 μs to 5.27 μs. The output power had the maximum value of 28.55 m W. 17Monolithic high-average-power linearly polarized nanosecond pulsed fiber laser with near-diffraction-limited beam quality显示文摘An all-fiberized high-average-power narrow linewidth ns pulsed laser with linear polarization is demonstrated. The laser system utilizes a typical master oscillator power amplifier(MOPA) configuration. The stimulated Brillouin scattering(SBS) is effectively suppressed due to the short fiber length and large mode area in the main amplifier, combined with the narrow pulse duration smaller than the phonon lifetime of SBS effect. A maximal output power of 466 W is obtained with a narrow linewidth of ~203.6 MHz, and the corresponding slope efficiency is ~80.3%. The pulse duration is condensed to be ~4 ns after the amplification, corresponding to the peak power of 8.8 kW and the pulse energy of 46.6 μJ. Neardiffraction-limited beam quality with an M2 factor of 1.32 is obtained at the output power of 442 W and the mode instability(MI) is observed at the maximal output power. 18Measurement for coordinated development of"four modernizations" and its efficiency ofprefecture level cities or above in China显示文摘The efficient and coordinated development of industrialization, urbanization, informatization and agricultural modernization(so called 'Sihua Tongbu' in China, and hereinafter referred to as 'four modernizations') is not only a practical need but also an important strategic direction of integrating urban-rural development and regional development in recent China. This paper evaluated the comprehensive, coupling and coordinated developmental indices of 'four modernizations' of China's 343 prefecture-level administrative units, and calculated their efficiency of 'four modernizations' in 2001 and 2011. The efficiency evaluation index system was established. The efficiencies and their changing trend during the period 2001–2011 were investigated using the data envelopment analysis(DEA) model. Spatial-temporal pattern of the efficiency of China's prefecture-level units was explored by using exploratory spatial data analysis(ESDA). Finally, the main influencing factors were revealed with the aid of geographically weighted regression(GWR) model. Results indicate that the comprehensive, coupling and coordinated developmental indices and efficiency of 'four modernizations' of China's prefecture-level administrative units have obvious spatial differences and show diverse regional patterns. Overall, the efficiency is relatively low, and only few units with small urban populations and economic scale are in DEA efficiencies. The efficiency changing trends were decreasing during 2001–2011, with a transfer of high efficiency areas from inland to eastern coastal areas. 19Early changes to the extracellular space in the hippocampus under simulated microgravity conditions显示文摘The smooth transportation of substances through the brain extracellular space(ECS)is crucial to maintaining brain function;however,the way this occurs under simulated microgravity remains unclear.In this study,tracer-based magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)and DECS-mapping techniques were used to image the drainage of brain interstitial fluid(ISF)from the ECS of the hippocampus in a tail-suspended hindlimb-unloading rat model at day 3(HU-3)and 7(HU-7).The results indicated that drainage of the ISF was accelerated in the HU-3 group but slowed markedly in the HU-7 group.The tortuosity of the ECS decreased in the HU-3 group but increased in the HU-7 group,while the volume fraction of the ECS increased in both groups.The diffusion rate within the ECS increased in the HU-3 group and decreased in the HU-7 group.The alterations to ISF drainage and diffusion in the ECS were recoverable in the HU-3 group,but neither parameter was restored in the HU-7 group.Our findings suggest that early changes to the hippocampal ECS and ISF drainage under simulated microgravity can be detected by tracer-based MRI,providing a new perspective for studying microgravity-induced nano-scale structure abnormities and developing neuroprotective approaches involving the brain ECS.Yajuan Gao Hongbin Han Jichen Du Qingyuan He Yanxing Jia Junhao Yan Hui Dai Bin Cui Jing Yang Xunbin Wei Liu Yang Rui Wang Ren Long Qiushi Ren Xing Yang Jiabin Lu 2022Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,3:2
20Auditory deprivation modifies the expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor and tropomyosin receptor kinase B in the rat auditory cortex显示文摘The development and plasticity of central auditory system can be influenced by the change of peripheral neuronal activity. However, the molecular mechanism participating in the process remains elusive. Brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF) binding with its functional receptor tropomyosin receptor kinase B(TrkB) has multiple effects on neurons. Here we used a rat model of auditory deprivation by bilateral cochlear ablation, to investigate the changes in expression of BDNF and Trk B in the auditory cortex after auditory deprivation that occurred during the critical period for the development of central auditory system. Reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RTqPCR) and immunohistochemistry methods were adopted to detect the m RNA and protein expression levels of BDNF and TrkB in the auditory cortex at 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks after surgery, respectively. The change in the expression of BDNF and TrkB mRNAs and proteins followed similar trend. In the bilateral cochlear ablation groups, the BDNF-TrkB expression level initially decreased at 2 weeks but increased at 4 weeks followed by the reduction at 6 and 8 weeks after cochlear removal, as compared to the age-matched sham control groups.
