1An improved method of absolute calibration to satellite altimeter: A case study in the Yellow Sea, China显示文摘An improved absolute calibration technology based on indirect measurements was developed through two probative experiments, the performance of which was evaluated by applying the approach to in situ sea surface height(SSH) at the Tianheng Island(tidal gauge) and the satellite nadir(GPS buoy). Using Geoid/MSS(mean sea surface) data, which accounted for a constant offset between nadir and onshore tidal gauge water levels, and TMD(tidal model driver), which canceled out the time-varying offsets, nadir SSH(sea surface height) could be indirectly acquired at an onshore tidal gauge instead of from direct offshore observation. The approach extrapolated the onshore SSH out to the offshore nadir with an accuracy of(1.88±0.20) cm and a standard deviation of 3.3 cm, which suggested that the approach presented was feasible in absolute altimeter calibration/validation(Cal/Val), and the approach enormously facilitated the obtaining SSH from the offshore nadir.LIU Yalong TANG Junwu ZHU Jianhua LIN Mingsen ZHAI Wanlin CHEN Chuntao 2014Acta Oceanologica Sinica2014,33,5:3

5A spike-trimer protein-based tetravalent COVID-19 vaccine elicits enhanced breadth of neutralization against SARS-CoV-2 Omicron subvariants and other variants显示文摘Multivalent vaccines combining crucial mutations from phylogenetically divergent variants could be an effective approach to defend against existing and future SARS-Co V-2 variants.In this study,we developed a tetravalent COVID-19 vaccine SCTV01E,based on the trimeric Spike protein of SARS-Co V-2 variants Alpha,Beta,Delta,and Omicron BA.1,with a squalenebased oil-in-water adjuvant SCT-VA02B.In the immunogenicity studies in na?ve BALB/c and C57BL/6J mice,SCTV01E exhibited the most favorable immunogenic characteristics to induce balanced and broad-spectrum neutralizing potencies against pre-Omicron variants(D614G,Alpha,Beta,and Delta)and newly emerging Omicron subvariants(BA.1,BA.1.1,BA.2,BA.3,and BA.4/5).Booster studies in C57BL/6J mice previously immunized with D614G monovalent vaccine demonstrated superior neutralizing capacities of SCTV01E against Omicron subvariants,compared with the D614G booster regimen.Furthermore,SCTV01E vaccination elicited na?ve and central memory T cell responses to SARS-Co V-2 ancestral strain and Omicron spike peptides.Together,our comprehensive immunogenicity evaluation results indicate that SCTV01E could become an important COVID-19 vaccine platform to combat surging infections caused by the highly immune evasive BA.4/5 variants.SCTV01E is currently being studied in a head-to-head immunogenicity comparison phase 3 clinical study with inactivated and m RNA vaccines(NCT05323461).Rui Wang Hongpeng Huang Chulin Yu Chunyun Sun Juan Ma Desheng Kong Yalong Lin Dandan Zhao Shaozheng Zhou Jianbo Lu Sai Cao Yanjing Zhang Chunxia Luo Xuefeng Li Yang Wang Liangzhi Xie 2023Science China(Life Sciences)2023,66,8:1

7Directly imaging of the atomic structure of luminescent centers in CaYAlO_(4):Ce^(3+)显示文摘Lanthanides(Ln^(3+))doped luminescent materials play critical roles in lighting and display techniques.While increasing experimental and theoretical research have been carried out on aluminate-based phosphors for white light-emitting diodes(WLEDs)over the past decades,most investigation was mainly focused on their luminescent properties;therefore,the local structure of the light emission center remains unclear.Especially,doping-induced local composition and structure modification around the luminescent centers have yet to be unveiled.In this study,we use advanced electron microscopy techniques including electron diffraction(ED),high-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM),high-angle annular dark-field scanning transmission electron microscopy(HAADF-STEM),in combination with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDX)and electron energy loss spectroscopy(EELS),to reveal atomically resolved crystalline and chemical structure of Ce^(3+)doped CaYAlO4.The microscopic results prove substantial microstructural and compositional inhomogeneities in Ce^(3+)doped CaYAlO_(4),especially the appearance of Ce dopant clustering and Ce^(3+)/Ce^(4+)valence variation.Our research provides a new understanding the structure of Ln^(3+)doped luminescent materials and will facilitate the materials design for next-generation WLEDs luminescent materials.Yalong Zhai Xuewei Yang Shu-Na Zhao Pei Liu Jun Lin Yang Zhang 2023Nano Research2023,16,2:0
