1Paleogene-Neogene stratigraphic realm and sedimentary sequence of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and their response to uplift of the plateau显示文摘Based on the data of 1:250000 geological mapping completed by CGS and the previous literature of the Cenozoic strata, 98 remnant basins and 5 stratigraphic realms with 13 stratigraphic subrealms have been recognized on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and its adjacent area. 2Ten cities cross-sectional questionnaire survey of children asthma and other allergies in China显示文摘Asthma,rhinitis and eczema(allergic or non-allergic)have increased throughout the world during the last decades,especially among children.Changes in the indoor environment are suspected to be important causes.China has experienced a dramatic change in indoor environmental exposures during the past two decades.However,such changes and their associations with children’s asthma and other health aspects have not been thoroughly studied.China,Children,Homes,Health(CCHH),Phase I,was a cross-sectional questionnaire survey of 48219 children 1–8 years old in 10 Chinese cities during 2010–2012.The questionnaire includes the International Study of Asthma and Allergies in Childhood(ISAAC)core health questions and additional questions regarding housing,life habits and outdoor environment.In health analyses,children aged 3–6 years old were included.The prevalences of doctor diagnosed asthma varied from 1.7%to 9.8%(mean 6.8%),a large increase from 0.91%in 1999 and 1.50%in2000.The prevalence of wheeze,rhinitis and atopic eczema(last 12 months)varied from 13.9%to 23.7%,24.0%to 50.8%and4.8%to 15.8%,respectively.Taiyuan had the lowest prevalences of all illnesses and Shanghai the highest,except for wheezewhere the highest value was for Urumqi.We found(1)no obvious association between disease prevalences and ambient PM10concentrations and(2)higher prevalences of disease in humid climates with hot summers and cold winters,but with no centrally heated buildings.Associations between the diseases and economic status as indexed by Gross Domestic Product(GDP)requires further study.ZHANG YinPing LI BaiZhan HUANG Chen YANG Xu QIAN Hua DENG QiHong ZHAO ZhuoHui LI AnGui ZHAO JiaNing ZHANG Xin QU Fang HU Yu YANG Qin WANG Juan ZHANG Ming WANG Fang ZHENG XiaoHong LU Chan LIU ZhiJian SUN YueXia MO JinHan ZHAO YiLi LIU Wei WANG TingTing NORBCK Dan BORNEHAG Carl-Gustaf SUNDELL Jan 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,34:22

5Chlorobenzenes and organochlorinated pesticides in vegetable soils from an industrial site, China显示文摘Organochlorinated compounds are ubiquitous contaminants in the environment, especially in industrial sites. The objective of the work was to investigate whether a vegetable field near an industrial site is safe for vegetable production. The residues of chlorobenzenes (CBs), hexachlorocyclohexanes (HCHs) and dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethanes (DDTs) in a vegetable field which was near a chemical plant in China were characterized. Point estimate quotient was used for ecological risk assessment of the investigated site. The results showed that all CBs except monochlorobenzene (MCB) were detected in soils. The total concentrations of ∑ CBs ranged from 71.06 to 716.57 ng/g, with a mean concentration of 434.93 ng/g. The main components of CBs in soil samples were dichlorobenzenes (DCBs), trichlorobenzenes (TCBs) and tetrachlorobenzenes (TeCBs), while for single congeners, 1,2,4-TCB had the highest concentration, which ranged from 13.21 to 210.35 ng/g with a mean concentration of 111.89 ng/g. Residues of hexachlorobenzene (HCB) in soil samples ranged from 0.9 to 11.79 ng/g, significantly lower than ∑ DCB, ∑ TCB and ∑ TeCB. Concentrations of ∑ HCHs and ∑ DDTs in soils ranged from 11.32 to 55.24 ng/g and from 195.63 to 465.58 ng/g, respectively, of which the main components were α-HCH and p,p'-dichlorodiphenyldichloroethylene (p,p'-DDE). Ecological risk assessment for the investigated site showed that the most potential risks were from TCBs and TeCBs, based on the hazard quotients. 6Indoor SVOC pollution in China:A review显示文摘Epidemiological and toxicological studies have proved that semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOCs) may have significant adverse effects on human health.For example,phthalic acid esters (PAEs),polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) may harm the endocrine,reproductive and respiratory systems of humans.Moreover,some SVOCs are carcinogenic.This paper summarizes the source emission characteristics for typical SVOCs observed indoors,evaluates the gas-phase and particle-phase concentrations of indoor di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP) under the steady-state condition,estimates the exposure of PAEs and the health risk of PAHs,and then proposes some solutions to some urgent problems for indoor SVOC pollution.The results show that the production and consumption quantities of plasticizers,coal and cigarettes in China are the highest in the world,and that the consumption of flame retardants and pesticides are also very high.As estimated,indoor plasticizer and flame retardant concentrations are higher in China than that of the developed countries such as the USA,which implies that indoor SVOC pollution may be more serious in China.According to the model analysis,DEHP remains mainly in the particle-phase under the steady-state condition;the particle-phase concentration of DEHP increases with increasing particle concentration.The exposure of DEHP is higher for children than it is for adults.It is estimated that 260 thousand people are diagnosed with cancer resulting from exposure to PAHs every year.A multidisciplinary approach to the further study of indoor SVOC pollution is necessary.WANG LiXin ZHAO Bin LIU Cong LIN Hui YANG Xu ZHANG YinPing 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,15:13
7A novel mechanism of inhibiting in-stent restenosis with arsenic trioxide drug-eluting stent: Enhancing contractile phenotype of vascular smooth muscle cells via YAP pathway显示文摘Objective:Arsenic trioxide(ATO or As2O3)has beneficial effects on suppressing neointimal hyperplasia and restenosis,but the mechanism is still unclear.The goal of this study is to further understand the mechanism of ATO's inhibitory effect on vascular smooth muscle cells(VSMCs).Methods and results:Through in vitro cell culture and in vivo stent implanting into the carotid arteries of rabbit,a synthetic-to-contractile phenotypic transition was induced and the proliferation of VSMCs was inhibited by ATO.F-actin filaments were clustered and the elasticity modulus was increased within the phenotypic modulation of VSMCs induced by ATO in vitro.Meanwhile,Yes-associated protein(YAP)nuclear translocation was inhibited by ATO both in vivo and in vitro.It was found that ROCK inhibitor or YAP inactivator could partially mask the phenotype modulation of ATO on VSMCs.Conclusions:The interaction of YAP with the ROCK pathway through ATO seems to mediate the contractile phenotype of VSMCs.This provides an indication of the clinical therapeutic mechanism for the beneficial bioactive effect of ATO-drug eluting stent(AES)on in-stent restenosis(ISR).Yinping Zhao Guangchao Zang Tieying Yin Xiaoyi Ma Lifeng Zhou Lingjuan Wu Richard Daniel Yunbing Wang Juhui Qiu Guixue Wang 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,2:13

9A review on application of composite truss bridges composed of hollow structural section members显示文摘Composite truss with hollow structural section(HSS) members is deemed as the structure applicable to large-span and heavily-loaded bridges. To promote the application of composite truss bridge with HSS members in China, this paper described its structural characteristics and technology in details. Besides, not only were 32 typical design cases of composite truss bridges with HSS members collected, but also the corresponding historical development was summed up. Comparisons on structural components, characteristics and engineering applications were made among composite truss bridges with HSS members in different structural forms. Then, the analysis on the characteristics of composite truss bridges with concrete-filled steel tubular(CFST) chords was conducted, and the challenges on the aspects of complicated joints and interfacial debonding were pointed out. To address these problems, the concrete-filled rectangular hollow section(CFRHS)stiffened with PBLs(Perfobond Ribs) was proposed to improve the reliability of confinement effect in CFST member and force transfer in joints. The advantages on the mechanical properties of CFRHS structure stiffened using PBLs were systematically expounded with respect to the behaviors of steel plate, interface, member and joint. 10Effects of extreme soil water stress on photosynthetic efficiency and water consumption characteristics of Tamarix chinensis in China's Yellow River Delta显示文摘Soil moisture is a major limiting factor for plant growth on shell ridge islands in the Yellow River Delta.However, it is difficult to carry out situ experiment to study dominant plant photosynthesis physiological on the shell ridge islands under extreme soil water stress. To evaluate the adaptability of plants to light and moisture variations under extreme soil moisture conditions present on these islands, we measured photosynthetic gas exchange process,chlorophyll fluorescence, and stem sap flow variables for3-year-old trees of Tamarix chinensis Lour, a restoration species on these islands, subjected to three types of soilwater levels: waterlogging stress(WS), alternating dry–wet(WD), and severe drought stress(SS) to inform decisions on its planting and management on shell ridge islands. Gas exchange, chlorophyll fluorescence, and stem sap flow in T.chinensis were then measured. Net photosynthetic rate(PN), transpiration rate(E), and water use efficiency(WUE)were similar under WS and alternating dry–wet conditions,but their mean E and WUEdiffered significantly(P \ 0.05).Under SS, the PN, E and WUEof T. chinensis leaves varied slightly, and mean PN, E and WUEwere all low. Apparent quantum efficiency(AQY), light compensation point(LCP),light saturation point(LSP), and maximum net photosynthetic rate(PNmax) of leaves were not significantly different(P [ 0.05) under WS and dry–wet conditions; however,under extreme drought stress, compared with the dry–wet conditions, LCPwas higher, LSPwas lower, and AQYand PNmaxwere both at the lowest level. Therefore, drought stress weakened light adaptability of leaves, and the efficiency of light transformation was poorer.(3) Maximum photochemical efficiency(Fv/Fm) and the actual photochemical efficiency(UPSII) were similar under waterlogged stress and dry–wet conditions, indicating a similar healthy photosynthetic apparatus and photosynthetic reaction center activity, respectively. Under SS, Fv/Fmwas 0.631, and the coefficient of non-photochemical quenching(NPQ) was0.814, which indicated that while the photosynthetic mechanism was damaged, the absorbed light energy was mainly dissipated in the form of heat, and the potential photosynthetic productivity was significantly reduced. The daily cumulants of sap flow of T. chinensis under dry–wet alternation and severe drought stress were 22.25 and63.97% higher, respectively, than under waterlogging stress. Daily changes in sap flow velocity for T. chinensis differed under the three soil water levels. Stem sap flow was weak at night under severe drought stress. Under dry–wet alternation, daytime average stem sap flow velocity was the highest, and night stem flow accounted for 10.26%of the day cumulants, while under waterlogged stress, the average nightly stem flow velocity was the highest,accounting for 31.82% of the day cumulants. 11Indoor decorating and refurbishing materials and furniture volatile organic compounds emission labeling systems:A review显示文摘The volatile organic compounds (VOC) emitted from indoor decorating and refurbishing materials and furniture is recognized as one of the main causes of bad indoor air quality,which has resulted in serious economic losses.In European countries and the U.S.,labeling systems for indoor decorating and refurbishing materials and furniture were established to address this issue with good effect.This paper is a review of these existing labeling systems.The basic principle of the labeling systems is introduced.The technical,policy and operational parts of the labeling systems are then discussed.The research concentrates on target pollutants,their threshold values and the testing methods employed.Some problems were uncovered in these labeling systems:too many VOCs were targeted;the method to determine the threshold values was not very rigorous;the testing time was too long (7-28 d).Some China's special features in developing such system are stated.Therefore,as the world's largest national producer and consumer of wood based panels and furniture,China should learn from foreign experience of establishing labeling systems as much as it can.However China should not simply copy the foreign approaches but develop its own scientific labeling system for indoor decorating and refurbishing materials and furniture.LIU WeiWei ZHANG YinPing YAO Yuan LI JingGuang 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,20:7
12Distinctive effects of CD34- and CD133-specific antibody-coated stents on re-endothelialization and in-stent restenosis at the early phase of vascular injury显示文摘It is not clear what effects of CD34-and CD133-specific antibody-coated stents have on reendothelialization and in-stent restenosis(ISR)at the early phase of vascular injury.This study aims at determining the capabilities of different coatings on stents(e.g.gelatin,anti-CD133 and anti-CD34 antibodies)to promote adhesion and proliferation of endothelial progenitor cells(EPCs).The in vitro study revealed that the adhesion force enabled the EPCs coated on glass slides to withstand flow-induced shear stress,so that allowing for the growth of the cells on the slides for 48 h.The in vivo experiment using a rabbit model in which the coated stents with different substrates were implanted showed that anti-CD34 and anti-CD133 antibody-coated stents markedly reduced the intima area and restenosis than bare mental stents(BMS)and gelatin-coated stents.Compared with the anti-CD34 antibody-coated stents,the time of cells adhesion was longer and earlier present in the anti-CD133 antibody-coated stents and anti-CD133 antibody-coated stents have superiority in re-endothelialization and inhibition of ISR.In conclusion,this study demonstrated that anti-CD133 antibody as a stent coating for capturing EPCs is better than anti-CD34 antibody in promoting endothelialization and reducing ISR.Xue Wu Tieying Yin Jie Tian Chaojun Tang Junli Huang Yinping Zhao Xiaojuan Zhang Xiaoyan Deng Yubo Fan Donghong Yu Guixue Wang 2015Regenerative Biomaterials2015,2,2:7
13Uncompromised NK cell activation is essential for virus-specific CTL activity during acute influenza virus infection显示文摘Natural killer (NK) cells are indispensable components of both the innate and adaptive immune response. However,their precise roles in the cross-talk between innate and adaptive immunity during influenza virus infection remaincontroversial. By comparing NK cell dynamics and activity under a sub-lethal dose and high dose of influenza virusinfection, we showed that influenza virus PR8 directly infected NK cells during natural infection, which wasconsistent with our previous findings obtained from an in vitro investigation of human NK cells. The impairments incytotoxicity and IFN-γ production by spleen NK cells following high-dose infection were accompanied by decreasedvirus-specific killing mediated by cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs). Importantly, the weakened CTL activity could bereversed by adoptive transfer of spleen NK cells harvested from low-dose-infected mice but not healthy donors.Taken together, our data provide direct evidence supporting the contribution of NK cells to antiviral T-cellresponses. 14Quaternary transgressive and regressive depositional sequences in the East China Sea显示文摘Based on the interpretation more than 4000 km sparker single channel seismic profiles and the comparison with Borehole DZQ4 on the outer shelf of the East China Sea (ECS),the seismic sequences,sedimentary facies and paleo-sedimentary environment are studied to establish the chronology framework and discuss the Quaternary transgressive and regressive sequences of the ECS shelf as well as their response to glacio-eustatic sea-level changes.The sea level of the ECS fluctuated with global climate changes in the Quaternary.During the sea level rise,the pacific tidal wave impacted actively on the ECS continental shelf and the reciprocating tidal currents in NW-SE direction formed tidal sand ridges,which represent large transgressive deposits visible on the seismic profiles.In response to sea level fall,the Yangtze River deltas prograded seaward and built massive subaqueous deltas to form regressive sequences on the seismic profiles.Alternative transgression and regression sequences were vertically distributed on the ECS shelf with the frequent eustacy in the Quaternary.The gentle slope of the ECS shelf makes it possible for the coastline to migrate hundreds of kilometers forth and back on the shelf because of tens of meters sea level changes,in the meanwhile,the Yangtze River discharged large amounts of sediments into the ECS resulting in large-scale subaqueous deltas and tidal sand ridges.There have developed 3 stages of tidal sand ridges and 4 stages of deltas on the ECS shelf since oxygen isotope stage 8.LIUZhenxia YINPing XIONGYingqian S.Beme A.Trentesaux LIChaoxin 2003Chinese Science Bulletin2003,48,B06:6

16Study on characteristics of double surface VOC emissions from dry fiat-plate building materials显示文摘This paper sets up an analytic model of double surface emission of volatile organic com- pound (VOC) from dry,flat-plate building materials. Based on it,the influence of factors including air change rate,loading factor of materials in the room,mass diffusion coefficient,partition coefficient,con- vective mass transfer coefficient,thickness of mate- rials,asymmetric convective flow and initial VOC concentration distribution in the building material on emission is discussed. The conditions for simplifying double surface emission into single surface emission are also discussed. 17CD40-activated B cells are more potent than immature dendritic cells to induce and expand CD41 regulatory T cells显示文摘CD4^(+)regulatory T cells(Tregs)play an important role in maintaining immune tolerance by suppressing pathologic immune responses.,The generation of large numbers of antigen-specific Tregs ex vivo is critical for the development of clinical immunotherapy based on the adoptive transfer of Tregs.Both CD40-activated B cells(CD40-B)and immature dendritic cells(imDCs)have been used as professional antigen-presenting cells(APCs)to generate antigen-specific Tregs.However,the efficiencies of CD40-B and imDCs to generate CD4^(+)Tregs have not been compared directly and the mechanism driving the generation of these Tregs remains largely unknown.In this study,we found that CD40-B exhibited mature phenotypes and were more able to induce and expand CD4^(high)'CD25^(+)Tregs than imDCs.Moreover,Tregs induced by CD40-B had greater suppressive capacity than those induced by imDCs.The generation of CD4^(high)CD25^(+)Tregs by CD40-B and imDCs is cell-cell contact dependent and partially relies on the expression of human leukocyte antigen(HLA)-DR and CD80/86.Differences in CD4^(high)CD25^(+)Treg generation efficiency were largely explained by the production of endogenous IL-2 by CD40-B.Our results suggest that CD40-B is better able to generate large numbers of antigen-specific Tregs than imDCs.Additionally,using CD40-B to generate Tregs may accelerate the clinical use of Treg-based immunotherapy in the treatment of allograft rejection,graft versus host disease(GVHD)and autoimmune diseases.Jian Zheng Yinping Liu Yu-Lung Lau Wenwei Tu 2010Cellular & Molecular Immunology2010,7,1:5
18Inverse Problem and Variation Method to Optimize Cascade Heat Exchange Network in Central Heating System显示文摘Urban heating in northern China accounts for 40% of total building energy usage. In central heating systems, heat is often transferred from heat source to users by the heat network where several heat exchangers are installed at heat source, substations and terminals respectively. For given overall heating capacity and heat source temperature, increasing the terminal fluid temperature is an effective way to improve the thermal performance of such cascade heat exchange network for energy saving. In this paper, the mathematical optimization model of the cascade heat exchange network with three-stage heat exchangers in series is established. Aim at maximizing the cold fluid temperature for given hot fluid temperature and overall heating capacity, the optimal heat exchange area distribution and the medium fluids' flow rates are determined through inverse problem and variation method. The preliminary results show that the heat exchange areas should be distributed equally for each heat exchanger. It also indicates that in order to improve the thermal performance of the whole system, more heat exchange areas should be allocated to the heat exchanger where flow rate difference between two fluids is relatively small. 19Avian influenza virus directly infects human natural killer cells and inhibits cell activity显示文摘Natural killer(NK) cell is a key component of innate immunity and plays an important role in host defense against virus infection by directly destroying infected cells. Influenza is a respiratory disease transmitted in the early phase of virus infection. Evasion of host innate immunity including NK cells is critical for the virus to expand and establish a successful acute infection. Previously,we showed that human influenza H1N1 virus infects NK cells and induces cell apoptosis, as well as inhibits NK cell activity. In this study, we further demonstrated that avian influenza virus also directly targeted NK cells as an immunoevasion strategy. The avian virus infected human NK cells and induced cell apoptosis. In addition, avian influenza virion and HA protein inhibited NK cell cytotoxicity. This novel strategy has obvious advantages for avian influenza virus, allowing the virus sufficient time to expand and subsequent spread before the onset of the specific immune response. 20Simulation of microwave’s heating effect on coal seam permeability enhancement显示文摘As hydraulic fracturing was forbidden in some countries due to possible negative environmental impacts and enhanced coalbed methane(ECBM)was restricted by in-situ conditions,microwave heating was proposed to enhance coalbed permeability.One of the mechanisms of improving coal permeability with microwave irradiation is that thermal expansion caused by microwave heating.To study the influence of microwave’s heating effect of coal samples,the simulations were conducted using a coupled electromagnetic,thermal and mechanical model in this paper.The temperature,Von-Mises stress and strain distribution of coal sample are recorded every 10 s.The permeability distribution is also obtained based on the relationship between strain and permeability from articles.It was found that volume average temperature,stress,strain and permeability increase almost linearly with time.The average permeability increased from 1.65 10×16 m^2 to 3.63 10×16 m^2 under 2.45 GHz and 500Wmicrowave radiation after 300 s.The significant increase proved microwave to be effective in coal seam permeability enhancement.Huang Jinxin Xu Guang Chen Yinping Chen Zhongwei 2019International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2019,29,5:4
