| 2 | Annual cost of illness of stomach and esophageal cancer patientsin urban and rural areas in China: A multi-center study显示文摘Objective: Stomach and esophageal cancer are imposing huge threats to the health of Chinese people whereas there were few studies on the financial burden of the two cancers.Methods: Costs per hospitalization of all patients with stomach or esophageal cancer discharged between September 2015 and August 2016 in seven cities/counties in China were collected, together with their demographic information and clinical details. Former patients in the same hospitals were sampled to collect information on annual direct non-medical cost, indirect costs and annual number of hospitalization. Annual direct medical cost was obtained by multiplying cost per hospitalization by annual number of hospitalization. Annual cost of illness(ACI)was obtained by adding the average value of annual direct medical cost, direct non-medical cost and indirect cost,stratified by sex, age, clinical stage, therapy and pathologic type in urban and rural areas. Costs per hospitalization were itemized into eight parts to calculate the proportion of each part. All costs were converted to 2016 US dollars(1 USD=6.6423 RMB).Results: Totally 19,986 cases were included, predominately male. Mean ages of stomach cancer and urban patients were lower than that of esophageal cancer and rural patients. ACI of stomach and esophageal cancer patients were $10,449 and $13,029 in urban areas, and $2,927 and $3,504 in rural areas, respectively. Greater ACI was associated with male, non-elderly patients as well as those who were in stage I and underwent surgeries.Western medicine fee took the largest proportion of cost per hospitalization.Conclusions: The ACI of stomach and esophageal cancer was tremendous and varied substantially among the population in China. | 5 | ORDER-PICKING OPTIMIZATION FOR AUTOMATED PICKING SYSTEM WITH PARALLEL DISPENSERS显示文摘Based on the characteristics of parallel dispensers in automated picking system,an order-picking optimization problem is presented.Firstly,the working principle of parallel dispensers is introduced,which implies the time cost of picking each order is influenced by the order-picking sequence.So the order-picking optimization problem can be classified as a dynamic traveling salesman problem (TSP).Then a mathematical model of the problem is established and an improved max-rain ant system (MMAS) is adopted to solve the model.The improvement includes two aspects. | 7 | Influencing factors on efficacy of summer acupoint application treatment for allergic rhinitis:a retrospective study显示文摘OBJECTIVE:Allergic rhinitis(AR) is a common health problem.Summer acupoint application treatment(SAAT) is reported to effectively treat and prevent AR from seasonal onset.In the present study,we aimed to evaluate its effects,especially on the course of AR,through a retrospective study.METHOD:A cross-sectional multicenter study was performed based on patients treated between 2008 and 2009 in 13 clinical centers in China.A total of 1058 outpatients aged ≥2 years with documented AR and ≥1 year SAAT were eligible for enrollment.A case report form(CRF) was completed by both patient and doctor.The CRF was designed to collect data on the patient's history of SAAT,AR condition,and self-reported health condition.The outcomes(dependent variables) were incidence and intensity of AR and concomitant medications used.Data were analyzed with ordinal logistic regression(OLR).RESULTS:Treatment course and seasonal pattern of AR were related to all dependent variables positively.After controlling for sample bias and confounding factors,the findings suggested that a 3-year treatment course had better efficacy(OR/incidence of AR:2.57,95%CI:1.76-3.76;OR/intensity of AR:2.17,95%CI:1.50-3.17;OR/concomitant medications:2.20,95% CI:1.50-3.23) compared with a 2-year or less treatment course.CONCLUSION:The results showed that:1)the length of treatment course was positively associated with the efficacy of SAAT(the longer the treatment course,the better the efficacy);and 2)SAAT was more efficacious in treating seasonal AR than non-seasonal AR. | Jin Peng Xiaqiu Wu Jingqing Hu Yigong Fang Mingjie Zi Baoyan Liu | 2012 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2012,32,3: | 7 |

| 13 | Structures of the human pre-catalytic spliceosome and its precursor spliceosome显示文摘The pre-catalytic spliceosome (B complex) is preceded by its precursor spliceosome (pre-B complex) and followed by the activated spliceosome (Bact complex). The pre-B-to-B and B-to-Bact transitions are driven by the ATPase/helicases Prp28 and Brr2,respectively. In this study,we report the cryo-electron microscopy structures of the human pre-B complex and the human B complex at an average resolution of 5.7 and 3.8 A,respectively. In the pre-B complex,U1 and U2 small nuclear ribonucleoproteins (snRNPs) associate with two edges of the tetrahedron-shaped U4/U6.U5 tri-snRNP. The pre-mRNA is yet to be recognized by U5 or U6 small nuclear RNA (snRNA),and loop I of U5 snRNA remains unengaged. In the B complex,U1 snRNP and Prp28 are dissociated,the 5’-exon is anchored to loop I of U5 snRNA,and the 5’-splice site is recognized by U6 snRNA through duplex formation. In sharp contrast to S. cerevisiae,most components of U2 snRNP and tri-snRNP,exemplified by Brr2,undergo pronounced rearrangements in the human pre-B-to-B transition. | 15 | Recombinant scFv Antibodies against E Protein and N Protein of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Virus显示文摘Three single chain antibodies (scFv) against the proteins of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV) were isolated by phage display from an scFv antibody library. Bio-panning was carried out against immobilized purified envelope (E) and nucleocapsid (N) proteins of SARS-CoV. Their binding activity and specificity to E or N protein of SARS-CoV were characterized by phage-ELISA. Two of them, B10 and C20, could recognize non-overlapping epitopes of the E protein according to the two-site binding test result. Clone A17 could recognize N protein. The sequence of the epitope or overlapping epitope of scFv antibody A17 was PTDSTDNNQNGGRNGARPKQRRPQ. The affinity (equilibrium dissociation constant, Kd) of SARS-CoV E protein was 5.7×10–8 M for B10 and 8.9×10–8 M for C20. The affinity of A17 for N protein was 2.1×10–6 M.
