| 1 | Incidence,mortality and survival of female breast cancer during 2003-2011 in Jiangsu province,China显示文摘Objective: To assess the incidence, mortality and survival status of female breast cancer in Jiangsu province of China.Methods: Population-based cancer registry data in Jiangsu province were collected during 2003-2011. Crude rates, age-specific rates, age-standardized rates and annual percent changes of incidence and mortality were calculated to describe the epidemiologic characteristics and time trends. Patients diagnosed from 2003 to 2005 were chosen for analyzing the survival status of breast cancer.Results: From 2003 to 2011, 17,605 females were diagnosed with breast cancer and 4,883 died in selected registry areas in Jiangsu province. The crude incidence rate was 25.18/100,000, and the age-standardized rates by Chinese population(ASRC) and by world population(ASRW) were 19.03/100,000 and 17.92/100,000, respectively. During the same period, the crude mortality rate was 6.98/100,000 and the ASRC and ASRW were 4.93/100,000 and 4.80/100,000, respectively. From 2003 to 2011, the incidence and mortality increased with annual percent change of 11.37% and 5.78%, respectively. For survival analysis, 1,392 patients in 7 areas were identified in 2003-2005 and finished 5 years of follow-up. Survival rates were found to decrease with survival years, the 5-year observed survival rate was 45.9% and the relative survival rate was 52.0%. We also found that the survival rate varied across the province, which was lower in the north and higher in the south of Jiangsu province.Conclusions: Breast cancer has become a significant public health problem in Jiangsu province and China. | 4 | Wind tunnel experiments on dust emissions from different landform types显示文摘The measurement and assessment of dust emissions from different landforms are important to understand the atmospheric loading of PM10(particulate matter ≤10 μm aerodynamic diameter) and to assess natural sources of dust; however, the methodology and technique for determining the dust still present significant research challenges. In the past, specialized field observation and field wind tunnel studies have been used to understand the dust emission. A series of wind tunnel tests were carried out to identify natural sources of dust and measure the magnitudes of dust emissions from different landforms. The method used in this study allowed the measurement of the PM10 emission rate using a laboratory based environmental boundary layer wind tunnel. Results indicated that PM10 emissions demonstrated strong temporal variation and were primarily driven by aerodynamic entrainment. Sand dunes, playa, and alluvial fans had the largest dust emission rates(0.8–5.4 mg/(m^2·s)) while sandy gravel, Gobi desert and abandoned lands had the lowest emission rates(0.003–0.126 mg/(m^2·s)). Dust emissions were heavily dependent on the surface conditions, especially the availability of loose surface dust. High dust emissions were a result of the availability of dustparticle materials for entrainment while low dust emissions were a result of surface crusts and gravel cover. Soil surface property(surface crusts and gravel cover) plays an important role in controlling the availability of dust-sized particles for entrainment. The dust emission rate depended not only on the surface conditions but also on the friction velocity. The emission rate of PM10 varies as a power function of the friction velocity. Although dynamic abrasion processes have a strong influence on the amount of dust entrainment, aerodynamic entrainment may provide an important mechanism for dust emissions. Large volumes of dust entrained by aerodynamic entrainment cannot only occur at low shear velocity without saltation, but may dominate the entrainment process in many arid and semi-arid environments. So it may also be responsible for large magnitude dust storms. | 9 | Enhancement of electro-strain performance of KTaO_(3)modified 0.94Bi_(0.5)Na_(0.5)TiO_(3)-0.06BaTiO_(3)ceramics显示文摘The(1−x)(0.94Bi_(0.5)Na_(0.5)TiO_(3)-0.06BaTiO_(3))-xKTaO_(3)(BNBT-xKT)lead-free ferroelectric ceramics were produced using the traditional solid-state sintering technique,and the phase structure,surface morphology,electrical properties were all thoroughly examined.Every ceramic has a single perovskite structure and there is no second phase,as shown by the XRD patterns and Raman spectra.Scanning electron microscopy revealed that all samples displayed dense microstructure and cubic grain.In addition,KT encourages grain growth due to the oxygen vacancies induced by doping or volatilization of ions at high temperatures.The Tm of the ceramics decreases with increasing doping levels due to oxygen vacancies acting as dipoles upon the addition of KT,and the dielectric loss of all samples is low at ambient temperature.In comparison to the pure BNBT ceramic’s bipolar strain value of 0.12%,the BNBT-2KT ceramic achieved a maximum bipolar strain of~0.506%and unipolar strain of~0.430%with the corresponding d33*up to 538 pm/V under 80 kV/cm field.Performance significantly improved as a result of this.A test of the correlation between temperature and ferroelectric properties shows that the largest strain value of the BNBT-2KT ceramic occurs at ambient temperature and that the phase change from ferroelectric to relaxor is complete.Additionally,it is discovered that the BNBT-3KT ceramic can sustain a stable strain across a broad temperature range,suggesting that it has good temperature stability.The aforementioned findings demonstrate that lead-based ceramics may be replaced with BNBT-xKT ceramics. | Xinran Wang Huanghui Nie Yan Yan Gang Liu | 2022 | Journal of Advanced Dielectrics2022,12,5: | 0 |
| 10 | Urine biomarkers discovery by metabolomics and machine learning for Parkinson’s disease diagnoses显示文摘Parkinson’s disease(PD)is a complex neurological disorder that typically worsens with age.A wide range of pathologies makes PD a very heterogeneous condition,and there are currently no reliable diagnostic tests for this disease.The application of metabolomics to the study of PD has the potential to identify disease biomarkers through the systematic evaluation of metabolites.In this study,urine metabolic profiles of 215 urine samples from 104 PD patients and 111 healthy individuals were assessed based on liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry.The urine metabolic profile was first evaluated with partial leastsquares discriminant analysis,and then we integrated the metabolomic data with ensemble machine learning techniques using the voting strategy to achieve better predictive performance.A combination of 8-metabolite predictive panel performed well with an accuracy of over 90.7%.Compared to control subjects,PD patients had higher levels of 3-methoxytyramine,N-acetyl-l-tyrosine,orotic acid,uric acid,vanillic acid,and xanthine,and lower levels of 3,3-dimethylglutaric acid and imidazolelactic acid in their urine.The multi-metabolite prediction model developed in this study can serve as an initial point for future clinical studies. | Xiaoxiao Wang Xinran Hao Jie Yan Ji Xu Dandan Hu Fenfen Ji Ting Zeng Fuyue Wang Bolun Wang Jiacheng Fang Jing Ji Hemi Luan Yanjun Hong Yanhao Zhang Jinyao Chen Min Li Zhu Yang Doudou Zhang Wenlan Liu Xiaodong Cai Zongwei Cai | 2023 | Chinese Chemical Letters2023,34,10: | 0 |

| 12 | A subpopulation of CD146^(+) macrophages enhances antitumor immunity by activating the NLRP3 inflammasome显示文摘As one of the main tumor-infiltrating immune cell types, tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) determine the efficacy of immunotherapy. However, limited knowledge about their phenotypically and functionally heterogeneous nature restricts their application in tumor immunotherapy. In this study, we identified a subpopulation of CD146+ TAMs that exerted antitumor activity in both human samples and animal models. CD146 expression in TAMs was negatively controlled by STAT3 signaling. Reducing this population of TAMs promoted tumor development by facilitating myeloid-derived suppressor cell recruitment via activation of JNK signaling. Interestingly, CD146 was involved in the NLRP3 inflammasome-mediated activation of macrophages in the tumor microenvironment, partially by inhibiting transmembrane protein 176B (TMEM176B), an immunoregulatory cation channel.
