1Injury of cortical neurons is caused by the advanced glycation end products-mediated pathway显示文摘Advanced glycation end products lead to cell apoptosis, and cause cell death by increasing endoplasmic reticulum stress. Advanced glycation end products alone may also directly cause damage to tissues and cells, but the precise mechanism remains unknown. This study used primary cultures of rat cerebral cortex neurons, and treated cells with different concentrations of glycation end products (50, 100, 200, 400 mg/L), and with an antibody for the receptor of advanced glycation end products before and after treatment with advanced glycation end products. The results showed that with increasing concentrations of glycation end products, free radical content increased in neurons, and the number of apoptotic cells increased in a dose-dependent manner. Before and after treatment of advanced glycation end products, the addition of the antibody against advanced glycation end-products markedly reduced hydroxyl free radicals, malondialdehyde levels, and inhibited cell apoptosis. This result indicated that the antibody for receptor of advanced glycation end-products in neurons from the rat cerebral cortex can reduce glycation end product-induced oxidative stress damage by suppressing glycation end product receptors. 2A green,efficient and precise hydrogen therapy of cancer based on in vivo electrochemistry显示文摘By combined use of traditional Chinese acupuncture Fe needle electrode and in vivo electrochemistry,we achieved in vivo H2 generation in tumors in a controllable manner and exploited it for effective and green therapy of tumors for the first time.The cathodic acupuncture electrodes working under an applied voltage of~3 V(with minimal damage to the living body)undergo effective electrochemical reactions in the acidic tumor area that produce sufficient H2 locally to cause cancer cells to burst and die.Due to puncture positioning,the acidic tumor microenvironment and gas diffusion effect,the developed H2 generation electrochemotherapy(H2-ECT)strategy enables precise and large-scale tumor therapy,as demonstrated by in vivo treatment of diseased mice(glioma and breast cancers).Such green H2-ECT is simple,highly efficient and minimally invasive,requiring no expensive medical equipment or nano materials and medication,and is therefore very promising for potential clinical applications.Guohua Qi Bo Wang Xiangfu Song Haijuan Li Yongdong Jin 2020National Science Review2020,7,3:2
3Cetus:an efficient symmetric searchable encryption against file-injection attack with SGX显示文摘Symmetric searchable encryption(SSE)allows the users to store and query their private data in the encrypted database.Many SSE schemes for different scenarios have been proposed in the past few years,however,most of these schemes still face more or fewer security issues.Using these security leakages,many attacks against the SSE scheme have been proposed,and especially the non-adaptive file injection attack is the most serious.Non-adaptive file injection attack(NAFA)can effectively recover some extremely important private information such as keyword plaintext.As of now,there is no scheme that can effectively defend against such attacks.We first propose the new security attribute called toward privacy to resist nonadaptive file injection attacks.We then present an efficient SSE construction called Cetus to achieve toward privacy.By setting up a buffer and designing the efficient oblivious reading algorithm based on software guard extensions(SGX),we propose the efficient one-time oblivious writing mechanism.Oblivious writing protects the update pattern and allows search operations to be performed directly on the data.The experiment results show that Cetus achieves O(aw)search time and O(1)update communication.The practical search time,communication,and computation overheads incurred by Cetus are lower than those of state-of-the-art.Yanyu HUANG Siyi LV Zheli LIU Xiangfu SONG Jin LI Yali YUAN Changyu Dong 2021Science China(Information Sciences)2021,64,8:2

6An in vivo Study of Basic Fibroblast Growth Factor on Activation and Proliferation of Retinal Progenitor Cells in RCS Rat显示文摘Purpose: To investigate the effect of intravitreal injection of basic fibroblast growth factor(bFGF) on activation and proliferation of endogenous retinal progenitor cells in the Royal College of Surgeons(RCS) rat. Methods: Twenty-four rats were studied after the 30th postnatal day(≥30). Eighteen RCS-p+/LAV rats were divided into 3 groups: bFGF-treated, vehicle-treated and untreated groups randomly, and 6 RCS-ray+p+/Lav respectively rats were used as normal controls. 6 μl of bFGF (5 μg/10 μl) or vehicle was injected into the vitreous on day 31, 33 and 35 after birth (P31, P33, P35) in the bFGF group and vehicle group respectively, and no injections were administered in the untreated and control groups. All the rats were euthanized, and their eyes were enucleated, hemisected and fixed at 50 d ays after birth for immunohistochemistry and measurement of outer nuclear layer thickness. Results:Nestin and Chx10 were positive in all retinal layers, intravitreal injection of bFGF in retina-dystrophic RCS(RCS-p+/Lav) rats induced intense labeling for the retinal progenitor cell markers Chx10 and Nestin, which were highly colocalized. Fluorescence intensity for both labels was somewhat less in the control rats, and much less in the vehicle-injected rats as well as in the untreated RCS rats. The outer nuclear layer(ONL) was significantly thicker in bFGF group than that in vehicle-treated or untreated group(P<0.01), but thinner than that of the control group(P<0.01). No significant difference was observed in the ONL thickness between the vehicle group and untreated group(P>0.05). 7Community Characteristics of Phytoplankton in Ecological Restoration of Rural Polluted Rivers显示文摘The T-type submerged dam based on zeolite and ecological floating bed was set up in Zhujiabang River, a tributary of the Zhihugang River(north of the Taihu Lake), together with ecological restoration measures such as aeration and slope wetland. From the perspective of phytoplankton community, the restorative effect of ecological restoration project on rural contaminated rivers was investigated. The results showed that(i) ecological restoration changed the community structure and succession tendency of phytoplankton, the dominant state of Cyanophyta and Cryptophyta was replaced by some species of Bacillariophyta, Chlorophyta and Pyrrophyta;(ii) ecological engineering restrained the standing stock of phytoplankton community greatly, total biomass of phytoplankton during the restoration period was less than 6 mg/L;(iii) biodiversity of phytoplankton during the ecological restoration maintained at a higher level(mean Shannon-Weiner index was 2.32).
