2Tensile and Fracture Properties of 15 vol% SiC_p/2009Al Composites Fabricated by Hot Isostatic Pressing and Hot Extrusion Processes显示文摘15 vol% silicon carbide particle(Si Cp)-reinforced 2009 Al matrix(15 vol% Si Cp/2009Al) composites were fabricated by hot isostatic pressing(HIP) and hot extrusion processes. The tensile and fracture properties of 15 vol% Si Cp/2009 Al were studied. The results showed that hot extrusion increased the ultimate tensile strength(UTS), yield strength(YS), elongation(EL), reduction in area(RA), and fracture toughness of the composites. The heat treatment resulted in the increase in UTS, YS, and fracture toughness, but a decrease in EL and RA. Both hot extrusion and heat treatment had negligible effects on elastic modulus(E). With the increase of Si Cpsize, the UTS, YS, and E decreased, but the EL and RA increased. 4Nb2C MXene-Functionalized Scaffolds Enables Osteosarcoma Phototherapy and Angiogenesis/Osteogenesis of Bone Defects显示文摘Early surgical resection and chemotherapy of bone cancer are commonly used in the treatment of bone tumor,but it is still highly challenging to prevent recurrence and fill the bone defect caused by the resection site.In this work,we report a rational integration of photonic-responsive two-dimensional(2D)ultrathin niobium carbide(Nb2C)MXene nanosheets(NSs)into the 3D-printed bone-mimetic scaffolds(NBGS)for osteosarcoma treatment.The integrated 2D Nb2C-MXene NSs feature specific photonic response in the second near-infrared(NIR-II)biowindow with high tissue-penetrating depth,making it highly efficient in killing bone cancer cells.Importantly,Nb-based species released by the biodegradation of Nb2C MXene can obviously promote the neogenesis and migration of blood vessels in the defect site,which can transport more oxygen,vitamins and energy around the bone defect for the reparative process,and gather more immune cells around the defect site to accelerate the degradation of NBGS.The degradation of NBGS provides sufficient space for the bone remodeling.Besides,calcium and phosphate released during the degradation of the scaffold can promote the mineralization of new bone tissue.The intrinsic multifunctionality of killing bone tumor cell and promoting angiogenesis and bone regeneration makes the engineered Nb2C MXeneintegrated composite scaffolds a distinctive implanting biomaterial on the efficient treatment of bone tumor.Junhui Yin Shanshan Pan Xiang Guo Youshui Gao Daoyu Zhu Qianhao Yang Junjie Gao Changqing Zhang Yu Chen 2021Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,2:5
5Formation of uniform reduced graphene oxide films on modified PET substrates using drop-casting method显示文摘In this work,uniform reduced graphene oxide(RGO) films were formed on poly-(ethylene terephthalate)(PET) substrates using a simple drop-casting method.We investigated four types of substrates:unmodified PET,polydopamine-coated PET.carboxyl-group-modified PET,and alkyl-group-modified PET.Upon water evaporation,the surface of the polydopamine-modified PET substrates can interact with the reduced graphene oxide sheets to form flattened and continuous RGO films,which exhibit a sheet resistance of 21.75 kΩ/sq at 82%transmittance.The result indicates that the properties of the surface groups determined whether uniform and flattened RGO films could be formed on the substrates.Hence,we proposed a simple and effective way to produce transparent and conductive films in which the catechol unit exhibits a great effect on the deposition of uniform RGO films on PET substrates.Chunlin Zhao Li Xing Junhui Xiang Lijie Cui JianbinJiao Huazheng Sai Zhenyou Li Fei Li 2014Particuology2014,12,6:4
6Phosphor-free single chip GaN-based white light emitting diodes with a moderate color rendering index and significantly enhanced communications bandwidth显示文摘To achieve high quality lighting and visible light communication(VLC)simultaneously,Ga N based white light emitting diodes(WLEDs)oriented for lighting in VLC has attracted great interest.However,the overall bandwidth of conventional phosphor converted WLEDs is limited by the long lifetime of phosphor,the slow Stokes transfer process,the resistance-capacitance(RC)time delay,and the quantum-confined Stark effect(QCSE).Here by adopting a self-assembled In Ga N quantum dots(QDs)structure,we have fabricated phosphor-free single chip WLEDs with tunable correlated color temperature(CCT,from 1600 K to 6000 K),a broadband spectrum,a moderate color rendering index(CRI)of 75,and a significantly improved modulation bandwidth(maximum of150 MHz)at a low current density of 72 A∕cm^2.The broadband spectrum and high modulation bandwidth are ascribed to the capture of carriers by different localized states of In Ga N QDs with alleviative QCSE as compared to the traditional In Ga N/Ga N quantum well(QW)structures.We believe the approach reported in this work will find its potential application in Ga N WLEDs and advance the development of semiconductor lighting-communication integration.Rongqiao Wan Xiang Gao Liancheng Wang Shuo Zhang Xiongbin Chen Zhiqiang Liu Xiaoyan Yi Junxi Wang Junhui Li Wenhui Zhu Jinmin Li 2020Photonics Research2020,8,7:3
7High surface area, high catalytic activity titanium dioxide aerogels prepared by solvothermal crystallization显示文摘Titanium dioxide has been considered to be one of the most effective and environmental friendly photocatalytic material.It has been widely used in photocatalytic degradation of various pollutants.As we known,an anatase crystal form typically obtained by high temperature heat treatment(>600℃),usually shows higher catalytic activity.In order to further improve the catalytic efficiency,we prepared TiO2 with a non-supercritical drying method to form a high specific surface area aerogel structure,along with an increased active contact site.However,with the inevitable of internal pores collapse in the process of high temperature crystallization,a large amount of porous structure and specific surface area is reduced.Here,to enhance the photocatalytic activity of titania,we propose a synergistic strategy to fabricate a porous titania structure with a high specific surface area.It was crystallized at a lower temperature(120℃) in a low-boiling solvent(ethanol,acetone,etc.).The lattice structure was identified by X-ray diffractometry;specific surface area(over 300 m2/g) of our sample was also measured through BET test;in the subsequent photocatalytic degradation test,the photocatalytic degradation efficiency of fabricated TiO2 is proved to be more excellent than P25 powder.By a freeze-drying/mild crystallization method,a high-specific surface area and high catalytic activity TiO2 aerogel was synthetized.This study provides some insights in the combining of crystallization and high specific surface area of titanium dioxide photocatalysis.Xian Yue Junhui Xiang Junyong Chen Huaxin Li Yunsheng Qiu Xianbo Yu 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,47,12:2
8Nanohole array structured GaN-based white LEDs with improved modulation bandwidth via plasmon resonance and non-radiative energy transfer显示文摘Commercial white LEDs (WLEDs) are generally limited in modulation bandwidth due to a slow Stokes process,long lifetime of phosphors,and the quantum-confined Stark effect. Here we report what we believe is a novel plasmonic WLED by infiltrating a nanohole LED (H-LED) with quantum dots (QDs) and Ag nanoparticles(NPs) together (M-LED). This decreased distance between quantum wells and QDs would open an extra non-radiative energy transfer channel and thus enhance Stokes transfer efficiency. The presence of Ag NPs enhances the spontaneous emission rate significantly. Compared to an H-LED filled with QDs (QD-LED),the optimized M-LED demonstrates a maximum color rendering index of 91.2,a 43% increase in optical power at 60 m A,and a lowered correlated color temperature. Simultaneously,the M-LED exhibits a data rate of 2.21 Gb/s at low current density of 96 A∕cm2(60 m A),which is 77% higher than that of a QD-LED. 19Hetero-bivalent nanobodies provide broad-spectrum protection against SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern including Omicron显示文摘SARS-CoV-2 variants with adaptive mutations have continued to emerge,causing fresh waves of infection even amongst vaccinated population.The development of broad-spectrum antivirals is thus urgently needed.We previously developed two hetero-bivalent nanobodies(Nbs),aRBD-2-5 and aRBD-2-7,with potent neutralization activity against the wild-type(WT)Wuhan isolated SARS-CoV-2,by fusing aRBD-2 with aRBD-5 and aRBD-7,respectively.Here,we resolved the crystal structures of these Nbs in complex with the receptor-binding domain(RBD)of the spike protein,and found that aRBD-2 contacts with highly conserved RBD residues and retains binding to the RBD of the Alpha,Beta,Gamma,Delta,Delta plus,Kappa,Lambda,Omicron BA.1,and BA.2 variants.In contrast,aRBD-5 and aRBD-7 bind to less conserved RBD epitopes non overlapping with the epitope of aRBD 2,and do not show apparent binding to the RBD of some variants.However,when fused with aRBD-2,they effectively enhance the overal binding affinity.Consistently,aRBD-2-5-Fc and aRBD-2-7 Fc potently neutralized all of the tested authentic or pseudotyped viruses,incuding WT,Alpha,Beta,Gamma,Delta,and Omicron BA.1,BA.1.1 and BA.2.Furthermore,aRBD-2-5-FC provided prophylactic protection against the WT and mouse-adapted SARS CoV-2 in mice,and conferred protection against the Omicron BA.1 variant in hamsters prophylatically and therapeutically,indicating that aRBD-2-5-Fc could potentially beneft the prevention and treatment of COVID-19 caused by the emerging variants of concern.Our strategy provides new solutions in the development of broad-spectrum therapeutic antibodies for COVID-19.Huan Ma Xinghai Zhang Peiyi Zheng Peter H.Dube Weihong Zeng Shaohong Chen Qingyu Cheng Yunru Yang Yan Wu Junhui Zhou Xiaowen Hu Yan Xiang Huajun Zhang Sandra Chiu Tengchuan Jin 2022Cell Research2022,32,9:1
