| 1 | Clinical application of specific antibody against glypican-3 for hepatocellular carcinoma diagnosis显示文摘Glypican-3(GPC3) is a promising tumor marker for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) diagnosis with high sensitivity and specificity.The aim of this study was to establish an immunohistochemical detection method for GPC3 using the 7D11 monoclonal antibody(7D11 mAb) and evaluate its application for HCC diagnosis.The feasibility of the 7D11 mAb was evaluated by immunohistochemistry performed on adjacent normal liver and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma(ICC) samples,Furthermore,the serum GPC3 levels were evaluated in 40 HCC patients,7 ICC patients and 50 healthy donors.The results showed that GPC3 was expressed in 85% of HCC tissues(34/40),but was undetectable in ICC tissues and adjacent normal tissues.GPC3 was significantly increased in the serum of HCC patients(17/40,42.5%) but was undetectable in the serum of ICC patients(0/7,0%) and healthy donors(0/50,0%).This prospective study evaluated the clinical usefulness of 7D11 mAb for GPC3 detection in HCC patients.In conclusion,the use of 7D11 mAb might be good for GPC3 large-scale applications for clinical diagnosis of HCC. | YU JuanPing MA Qiang ZHANG Bin MA RuiJuan XU XiGuang LI MingSong XU WeiWen LI Ming | 2013 | Science China(Life Sciences)2013,56,3: | 18 |
| 2 | Petrology and ^(40)Ar/^(39)Ar iso-topic ages of blueschists in Gangmar, central Qiangtang, northern Tibet显示文摘The petrology and mineral assemblages of blueschists in the Gangmar, central Qiangtang, northern Tibet were examined, which indicates that the metamorphic condition is high-pressure low-temperature. In this note, we reported the 40Ar/39Ar dating results of glaucophane from two blueschist samples. Their apparent ages are (275.0±1.3) Ma and (287.6±2.3) Ma and similar isochron ages are (275.0±0.9) Ma and (282.4±0.8) Ma, respectively. These iso-topic datings show the high-pressure metamorphism occurring in Lower Permian. | 5 | Recent Progress on Engineering Highly Efficient Porous Semiconductor Photocatalysts Derived from Metal–Organic Frameworks显示文摘Porous structures o er highly accessible surfaces and rich pores, which facilitate the exposure of numerous active sites for photocatalytic reactions, leading to excellent performances. Recently, metal–organic frameworks(MOFs) have been considered ideal precursors for well-designed semiconductors with porous structures and/or heterostructures, which have shown enhanced photocatalytic activities. In this review, we summarize the recent development of porous structures, such as metal oxides and metal sulfides, and their heterostructures, derived from MOF-based materials as catalysts for various light-driven energy-/environment-related reactions, including water splitting, CO_2 reduction, organic redox reaction, and pollution degradation. | 6 | Preparation and Charaterization of Self-assembled Nanoparticles Based on Linolenic-acid Modified Chitosan显示文摘Chitosan was modified by conjugating coupling with linolenic acid through the l-ethyl-3-( 3-dimethylami-nopropyyl) carbodiimmide (EDC)-mediated reaction. The degree of substitution 1.8% (i.e. 1.8 linolenic acid group per 100anhydroglucose units) was measured by 1H NMR. The critical aggregation concentration (CAC) of the self-aggregate of hy-drophobically modified chitosan was determined by measuring the fluorescence intensity of the pyrene as a fluorescent probe.The CAC value in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) solution (pH7.4) was 5 × 10-2 mg mL-1. The average particle size of self-aggregates of hydrophobically modified chitosan in PBS solution (pH7.4) was 210.8 nm with a unimodal size distributionranging from 100 to 500 nm. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) study showed that the formation of near sphericalshape nanoparticles has enough structural integrity. The loading ability of hydrophibically modified chitosan (LA-chitosan)was investigated by using bovine serum albumin (BSA) as the model. | 7 | Design and Synthesis of Cu@CuS Yolk–Shell Structures with Enhanced Photocatalytic Activity显示文摘Non-spherical Cu@Cu S yolk–shell structures are successfully obtained using Cu_2 O cube templates in a process combining rapid surface sulfidation followed by disproportionation of the Cu_2 O core upon treatment with a hydrochloric acid solution. By employing the above method,Cu@Cu S yolk–shell structures with different morphologies,including octahedral, truncated octahedral, and cuboctahedral shapes, can be synthesized. The void space within the hollow structures provides a unique confined space, where the metallic copper present in the core of a shell can be protected from agglomeration and oxidation. Furthermore,the presence of metal copper in these hollow structurescontributes to improvement in the photocatalytic properties of these materials. | 8 | Symmetry energy dependence of the pygmy and giant dipole resonances in an isospin dependent quantum molecular dynamics model显示文摘Isospin-dependent Quantum Molecular Dynamics model (IQMD) has been applied to investigate the Pygmy Dipole Resonance (PDR) and Giant Dipole Resonance (GDR) in Ni isotopes by Coulomb excitation. By Gaussian fitting to the photon emission spectra, the peak energies and strengths of PDR and GDR are extracted. Their sensitivities to impact parameter, incident energy and the symmetry energy are discussed. By the comparison of energy-weighted sum rule (EWSR) with the data and other calculations for 68 Ni, the parameters of density-dependence of symmetry energy in the IQMD are constrained. | 9 | Tensile and fracture properties of Ti-62A alloy plate with different microstructures显示文摘Ti-62A alloy plates with three different types of microstructure, fully equiaxed, bimodal, and Widmanst tten, were obtained by various heat treatments to investigate the effects of microstructure on the tensile and fracture properties at room temperature. The results reveal that Widmanst tten microstructure exhibits good damage tolerance behavior considering strength, fracture toughness, and fatigue crack growth behavior, while the bimodal microstructure shows good comprehensive properties considering the plasticity synthetically. The ingesting selectivity rate varied with the UV-B radiation enhancement when it was fed with 5 species micro-algal mixture. We focus on a novel energy-efficient cooperative strategy in a Radio frequency(RF) energy harvesting cognitive radio network, where the Secondary user(SU) provides energy supply and relaying assist for the Primary user(PU) in exchange for the transmission opportunities. On the basis of energy and information cooperation, an Energy efficiency(EE)maximization non-convex problem for SU is formulated under the PU's Quality of service(QoS) requirement and energy-causality constraint. With the aid of Dinkebalch's method and convex optimization technique, a joint time and power allocation scheme is proposed. | 14 | Effect of UV-B radiation on the feeding behavior of the rotifer Brachionus plicatilis显示文摘Effect of UV-B radiation on the feeding behaviour of marine zooplankton is important to assessing the health harm of marine ecosystem due to the gradually enhanced UV-B radiation in air. However, there are a few studies on this topic. The feeding behavior of the rotifer, Brachionus plicatilis, under the treatment of UV-B radiation on five species of microalgae, i.e., Chlorella sp., Tetraselmis chuii, Isochrysis galbana Park 8701, Chaetoceros muelleri Lermumerman, and Nitzschia clostertum, was studied. The results showed that the filtering and feeding rates of the rotifer decreased significantly with the dose increase of UV-B radiation when fed with five species of microalgae respectively (P<0.05) which indicates UV-B radiation inhibits the feeding activities of the rotifer on microalage. The mixed culture experiments shows the rotifer preferred to feed Chlorella sp., then C. muelleri,I. galbana, N. clostertum and T. chuii in turn if without UV-B radiation. Under the highest dose of UV-B radiation treatment (2.70 kJ/m2), the rotifer preferred to feed C. muelleri, then Chlorella sp., N. clostertum, I. galbana and T. chuii in turn. Chlorella sp., I. galbana and C. muelleri became the more favorite foods of the rotifer while T. chuii and N. clostertum became less favorite foods. | 16 | NUMERICAL STUDY ON THE UNSTEADY INTERACTION FLOW IN A CENTRIFUGAL COMPRESSOR STAGE显示文摘Numerical simulation on the unsteady flow in a centrifugal compressor is performed, and compared with the experimental data. The influence of the impeller-diffuser interaction on the flowfields is discussed, and the reasons for the losses are also explored. Results show that qualitative and quite fair quantitative agreements are achieved between the predicted and measured flowfields. The influence of the impeller wake on the convexity surface of diffuser is great. The potential repercussion of the diffuser on the suction surface of the impeller is much larger than on the pressure surface. Effect of the unsteady interaction is strongest in the radial gap. | 19 | Anaerobic digestion of food wastes for biogas production显示文摘Five types of food wastes were investigated as feedstock for a potential centralized anaerobic digester system in the area of Sacramento,California to produce biogas energy.The wastes were from a soup processing plant,a cafeteria,a commercial kitchen,a fish farm,and grease trap collection service.Digestibilities of the food wastes,individually and in mixtures,were conducted at mesophilic(35℃)and thermophilic(50℃)temperatures and at two food to microorganism ratios(F/M)of 0.5 and 1.0,for 28 days.A continuously fed mesophilic single-stage anaerobic digester was evaluated using a mixture of the five food wastes at organic loading rates of 0.5 to 1.0 g VS/L/d.In the batch digestion tests,fish and grease trap wastes required longer time to complete the digestion and had higher biogas yields than the other wastes.The continuously-fed digester required the addition of sodium hydroxide to maintain pH at proper levels in the digester.Alkalinity of about 2,500 mg CaCO3/L and pH above 7 was maintained by adding 0.2 g NaOH/g VS.The results of this study indicated that it was necessary to use the chemicals,such as NaOH,to control the pH of the single-stage anaerobic digester treating the food waste.For commercial applications,the cost of chemicals and proper management of additional salts in the digester effluent need to be carefully considered. | Xiguang Chen Rowena TRomano Ruihong Zhang | 2010 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2010,3,4: | 3 |
