| 6 | Ab initio investigation of the cyclodehydrogenation process for polyanthrylene transformation to graphene nanoribbons显示文摘Graphene nanoribbons(GNRs)can be synthesized from molecular precursors with atomic precision.A prominent case is the 7-atom-wide armchair GNR made from 10,10′-dibromo-9,9′-bianthryl(DBBA)precursors on metal substrates through dehalogenation/polymerization followed by cyclodehydrogenation.We investigate the key aspects of the cyclodehydrogenation process by evaluating the energy profiles of various reaction pathways using density functional theory and the nudged elastic band method.The metal substrate plays a critical catalytic role by providing stronger adsorption for products and facilitating H desorption.For polyanthrylene on an extra layer of GNR on Au,the underlying GNR insulates it from the Au substrate and increases the reaction barriers,rendering the polyanthrylene“quasi-freestanding”.However,positive charge injection can induce localized cyclodehydrogenation.We find that this is due to the stabilization of an intermediate state through an arenium ion mechanism and favorable orbital symmetries.These results provide mechanistic insight into the effects of the metal substrate and charge injection on cyclodehydrogenation during GNR synthesis and offer guidance for the design and growth of new graphitic structures. | Zhongcan Xiao Chuanxu Ma Wenchang Lu Jingsong Huang Liangbo Liang Kunlun Hong An-Ping Li Bobby G.Sumpter Jerzy Bernholc | 2019 | npj Computational Materials2019,,1: | 0 |
| 7 | Probiotic Escherichia coli Nissle 1917 protect chicks from damage caused by Salmonella enterica serovar Enteritidis colonization显示文摘As a foodborne pathogen of global importance,Salmonella enterica serovar Enteritidis(S.Enteritidis)is a threat to public health that is mainly spread by poultry products.Intestinal Enterobacteriaceae can inhibit the colonization of S.Enteritidis and are regarded as a potential antibiotic substitute.We investigated,in chicks,the anti-S.Enteritidis effects of Escherichia coli(E.coli)Nissle 1917,the most wellknown probiotic member of Enterobacteriaceae.Eighty 1-d-old healthy female AA broilers were randomly divided into 4 groups,with 20 in each group,namely the negative control(group P),the E.coli Nissle 1917-treated group(group N),the S.Enteritidis-infected group(group S)and the E.coli Nissle1917-treated and S.Enteritidis-infected group(group NS).From d 5 to 7,chicks in groups N and NS were orally gavaged once a day with E.coli Nissle 1917 and in groups P and S were administered the same volume of sterile PBS.At d 8,the chicks in groups S and NS were orally gavaged with S.Enteritidis and in groups P and N were administered the same volume of sterile PBS.Sampling was conducted 24 h after challenge.Results showed that gavage of E.coli Nissle 1917 reduced the spleen index,Salmonella loads,and inflammation(P<0.05).It improved intestinal morphology and intestinal barrier function(P<0.05).S.Enteritidis infection significantly reduced mRNA expression of angiotensin-converting enzyme 2(ACE2)and solute carrier family 6-member 19(SLC6A19)in the cecum and the content of Gly,Ser,Gln,and Trp in the serum(P<0.05).Pretreatment with E.coli Nissle 1917 yielded mRNA expression of ACE2and SLC6A19 in the cecum and levels of Gly,Ser,Gln,and Trp in the serum similar to that of uninfected chicks(P<0.05).Additionally,E.coli Nissle 1917 altered cecum microbiota composition and enriched the abundance of E.coli,Lactobacillales,and Lachnospiraceae.These findings reveal that the probiotic E.coli Nissle 1917 reduced S.Enteritidis infection and shows enormous potential as an alternative to antibiotics. | Shu Wu Qianyun Zhang Guanglei Cong Yunqi Xiao Yiru Shen Shan Zhang Wenchang Zhao Shourong Shi | 2023 | Animal Nutrition2023,,3: | 0 |
| 8 | Nip promotes autophagy through facilitating the interaction of Rab7 and FYCO1显示文摘Autophagy is the main degradation pathway to eliminate long-lived and aggregated proteins,aged or malfunctioning organelles,which is essential for the intracellular homeostasis and prevention of malignant transformation.Although the processes of autophagosome biogenesis have been well illuminated,the mechanism of autophagosome transport remains largely unclear.In this study,we demonstrated that the ninein-like protein(Nip),a well-characterized centrosomal associated protein,was able to modulate autophagosome transport and facilitate autophagy.During autophagy,Nip colocalized with autophagosomes and physically interacted with autophagosome marker LC3,autophagosome sorting protein Rab7 and its downstream effector FYCOl.Interestingly,Nip enhanced the interaction between Rab7 and FYC01,thus accelerated autophagic flux and the formation of autophagolysosomes.Furthermore,compared to the wild-type mice,NLP deficient mice treated with chemical agent DMBA were prone to increased incidence of hepatomegaly and liver cancer,which were tight associated with the hepatic autophagic defect.Taken together,our findings provide a new insight for the first time that the well-known centrosomal protein Nip is also a new regulator of autophagy,which promotes the interaction of Rab7 and FYC01 and facilitates the formation of autophagolysosome. | Wenchang Xiao Danna Yeerken Jia Li Zhangfu Li Lanfang Jiang Dan Li Ming Fu Liying Ma Yongmei Song Weimin Zhang Qimin Zhan | 2021 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,5: | 0 |
