| 1 | Chinese consensus guidelines for diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal stromal tumor显示文摘In order to further promote the standardization of diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal stromal tumor(GIST) in China, the members of Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology(CSCO) Expert Committee on GIST thoroughly discussed the key contents of the consensus guidelines, and voted on the controversial issue. In final, the Chinese consensus guidelines for the diagnosis and management of GIST(2017 edition) was formed on the basis of 2013 edition consensus guidelines, which is hereby announced. | 2 | Advanced treatment of wet-spun acrylic fiber manufacturing wastewater using three-dimensional electrochemical oxidation显示文摘A three-dimensional electrochemical oxidation(3D-EC) reactor with introduction of activated carbon(AC) as particle micro-electrodes was applied for the advanced treatment of secondary wastewater effluent of a wet-spun acrylic fiber manufacturing plant. Under the optimized conditions(current density of 500 A/m^2, circulation rate of 5 mL/min, AC dosage of 50 g, and chloride concentration of 1.0 g/L), the average removal efficiencies of chemical oxygen demand(COD_(cr)), NH3–N, total organic carbon(TOC), and ultraviolet absorption at 254 nm(UV_(254)) of the 3D-EC reactor were 64.5%, 60.8%, 46.4%, and 64.8%, respectively; while the corresponding effluent concentrations of COD_(cr), NH_3–N, TOC, and UV_(254) were 76.6, 20.1, and42.5 mg/L, and 0.08 Abs/cm, respectively. The effluent concentration of COD_(cr) was less than 100 mg/L, which showed that the treated wastewater satisfied the demand of the integrated wastewater discharge standard(GB 8978-1996). The 3D-EC process remarkably improved the treatment efficiencies with synergistic effects for COD_(cr), NH_3–N, TOC, and UV_(254) during the stable stage of 44.5%, 38.8%, 27.2%, and 10.9%, respectively, as compared with the sum of the efficiencies of a two-dimensional electrochemical oxidation(2D-EC) reactor and an AC adsorption process, which was ascribed to the numerous micro-electrodes of AC in the 3D-EC reactor. | 4 | Pilot-scale experiments on multilevel contact oxidation treatment of poultry farm wastewater using saran lock carriers under different operation model显示文摘A pilot-scale multilevel contact oxidation reactors system, coupled with saran lock carriers,was applied for the treatment of poultry farm wastewater. The removal efficiencies of CODcr, ammonia, and the total nitrogen as well as the elimination performance of CODcr and total nitrogen along the three-level contact oxidation tanks under six designed operational models were investigated. Based on the performance of the nitrogen removal of the saran lock carriers and the distribution of anoxic–aerobic interspace under the suitable operation model, the mechanism of nitrogen removal of the system was also explored. The results revealed that the intermittent aeration under parallel model is the most suitable operation model, while the removal efficiencies of CODcr, ammonia, and the total nitrogen were 86.86%, 84.04%, and 80.96%, respectively. The effluent concentration of CODcr,ammonia, and the total nitrogen were 55.6 mg/L, 8.3 mg/L, and 12.0 mg/L, which satisfy both the discharge standard of pollutants for livestock and poultry breeding industry(GB18596–2001) and the first grade of the integrated wastewater discharge standard(GB 8978–1996). Moreover, the mechanism for the nitrogen removal should be attributed to the plenty of anoxic–aerobic interspaces of the biofilm and the three-dimensional spiral structure of the saran lock carriers, where the oxygen-deficient distribution was suitable for the happening of the simultaneous nitrification and denitrification process. | 6 | Enhanced antibacterial activity of silica nanorattles with ZnO combination nanoparticles against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus显示文摘Silica nanorattles(SNs) with zinc oxide(ZnO) combination nanoparticles are reported to inhibit methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA) for the first time. SNs loaded with ZnO nanoparticles,which can produce free radicals, can cause severe damage to bacteria. ZnO nanoparticles not only provide free radicals in the combined nanostructures, which can inhibit the growth of bacteria, but also form nanorough surfaces with an irregular distribution of spikes on the SNs, which can enhance their adhesion to bacteria. Nanorough silica shell surfaces maintain the high activity and stability of small-sized ZnO nanoparticles and gather ZnO nanoparticles together to enhance production, which improves the efficiency of free radicals against the cytomembranes of bacterial cells. The enhanced adhesion of ZnO@SN nanoparticles to MRSA cells shortens the effective touching distance between free radicals and MRSA, which also improves antibacterial activity. As we expected, the ZnO@SN nanoparticles exhibit a better antibacterial effect than free ZnO nanoparticles against MRSA in vitro and in vivo. We also demonstrate that SNs loaded with ZnO nanoparticles can accelerate wound healing in MRSA skin inflammation models. | 10 | Ecological and evolutionary constraints on regional avifauna of passerines in China显示文摘Strong correlations between species diversity and climate have been widely observed,but the mechanism underlying this relationship is unclear.Here,we explored the causes of the richness-climate relationships among passerine birds in China by integrating tropical conservatism and diversification rate hypotheses using path models.We found that assemblages with higher species richness southwest of the Salween-Mekong-Pearl River Divide are phylogenetically overdispersed and have shorter mean root distances(MRDs),while species-rich regions northeast of this divide(e.g.,north Hengduan Mountains-south Qinling Mountains)are phylogenetically clustered and have longer MRDs.The results of the path analyses showed that the direct effect of climatic factors on species richness was stronger than their indirect effects on species richness via phylogenetic relatedness,indicating that neither tropical conservatism nor diversification rate hypotheses can well explain the richness-climate relationship among passerines in China.However,when path analyses were conducted within subregions separately,we found that the tropical conservatism hypothesis was well supported in the southwestern Salween-Mekong-Pearl River Divide,while the diversification rate hypothesis could explain the richness-climate relationship well in the northeastern divide.We conclude that the diversity patterns of passerines in different subregions of the Eastern Himalayas-Mountains of Southwest China may be shaped by different evolutionary processes related to geological and climatic histories,which explains why the tropical conservatism or diversification rate hypothesis alone cannot fully explain the richness-climate relationships. | Tianlong Cai Qing Quan Gang Song Yongjie Wu Zhixin Wen Chunlan Zhang Yanhua Qu Gexia Qiao Fumin Lei | 2021 | Current Zoology2021,67,4: | 0 |
| 11 | Top priority current path between SiC particles during ultra-high temperature flash sintering: Presence of PyC “bridges”显示文摘Flash sintering(FS)is a novel technique for rapidly densifying silicon carbide(SiC)ceramics.This work achieved a rapid sintering of SiC ceramics by the utilization of ultra-high temperature flash sintering within 60 s.Pyrolysis carbon(PyC)“bridges”were constructed between SiC particles through the carbonisation of phenolic resin,providing a large number of current channels.The incubation time of the flash sintering process was significantly reduced,and the sintering difference between the centre and the edge regions of the ceramics was minimized,with an average particle size of the centre region and edge region being 12.31 and 9.02μm,respectively.The results showed that the porosity of the SiC ceramics after the flash sintering was reduced to 14.79% with PyC“bridges”introduced,and the Vickers hardness reached 19.62 GPa.PyC“bridges”gradually evolved from amorphous eddy current carbon to oriented graphite carbon,indicating that the ultra-high temperature environment in which the sample was located during the flash sintering was successfully constructed.Ultra-high temperature flash sintering of SiC is expected to be applied to the local repair of matrix damage in SiC ceramic matrix composites. | Le Lu Tianlong Liu Zhaofeng Chen Fei Wang Mengmeng Yang Qiong Wu Lixia Yang Huanyong Li | 2024 | Journal of Advanced Ceramics2024,13,2: | 0 |

| 13 | Human endoderm stem cells reverse inflammation-related acute liver failure through cystatin SN-mediated inhibition of interferon signaling显示文摘Acute liver failure(ALF)is a life-threatening disease that occurs secondary to drug toxicity,infection or a devastating immune response.Orthotopic liver transplantation is an effective treatment but limited by the shortage of donor organs,the requirement for life-long immune suppression and surgical challenges.Stem cell transplantation is a promising alternative therapy for fulminant liver failure owing to the immunomodulatory abilities of stem cells.Here,we report that when transplanted into the liver,human endoderm stem cells(hEnSCs)that are germ layer-specific and nontumorigenic cells derived from pluripotent stem cells are able to effectively ameliorate hepatic injury in multiple rodent and swine drug-induced ALF models.We demonstrate that hEnSCs tune the local immune microenvironment by skewing macrophages/Kupffer cells towards an anti-inflammatory state and by reducing the infiltrating monocytes/macrophages and inflammatory T helper cells.Single-cell transcriptomic analyses of infiltrating and resident monocytes/macrophages isolated from animal livers revealed dramatic changes,including changes in gene expression that correlated with the change of activation states,and dynamic population heterogeneity among these cells after hEnSC transplantation.We further demonstrate that hEnSCs modulate the activation state of macrophages/Kupffer cells via cystatin SN(CST1)-mediated inhibition of interferon signaling and therefore highlight CST1 as a candidate therapeutic agent for diseases that involve over-activation of interferons.We propose that hEnSC transplantation represents a novel and powerful cell therapeutic treatment for ALF. | Yilin Xu Jinglin Wang Haozhen Ren Hao Dai Ying Zhou Xiongzhao Ren Yang Wang Sisi Feng Xiaogang Deng Jiaying Wu Tianlong Fu Tengfei Nie Haifeng He Tongkun Wei Bing Zhu Lijian Hui Bin Li Jing Wang Hongyan Wang Luonan Chen Xiaolei Shi Xin Cheng | 2023 | Cell Research2023,33,2: | 0 |

| 17 | Ramet population ecology of Panicum virgatum in the field–Competitively random growth of ramets and foraging behavior of ramet populations显示文摘The authors investigated the heterogeneous size patterns and dynamic growth of the ramet population of Panicum virgatum, a clonal caespitose plant, limited to the space occupied by a ramet bunch and the time of the ramet yearly life cycle, to understand the ecology of clonal caespitose plants in the field, where the ramet bunch generally consisted of more than one genet. Dynamic life tables for ramet populations were established by the replacement of living ramets at the present time with 'dead' ones in past time. These tables revealed stable coexisting patterns of isometric and allometric growing processes of ramets in mass and height respectively, which approximately followed the historic trajectory of a density-independent population. The ecology of clonal caespitose plants is further discussed based on the competitively random growth of ramet individuals, including the scale of foraging behavior. In the field, the ramet population ecol- ogy of switchgrass may be a statistical result of competitively random growth of ramet individuals. | 19 | Quantitative Analysis of Methanol in Methanol Gasoline by Calibration Transfer Strategy Based on Kernel Domain Adaptive Partial Least Squares(kda-PLS)显示文摘The application of near-infrared(NIR)spectroscopy combined with multivariate calibration methods can achieve the rapid analysis of methanol gasoline.However,instrumental or environmental differences found for spectra make it impossible to continuously apply the previously developed calibration model.Therefore,the calibration transfer technique would be required to solve the time-consuming and laborious problem of reestablishing a new model.In this work,a calibration transfer method named kernel domain adaptive partial least squares(kda-PLS)was applied to the calibration transfer from the primary instrument to the secondary ones.Firstly,wavelet transform(WT)and variable importance in projection(VIP)were employed to enhance the predictive performance of the kda-PLS transfer model.Then,the results found for the calibration transfer by piecewise direct standardization(PDS)and domain adaptive partial least squares(da-PLS)were compared to verify the calibration transfer(CT)effect of kda-PLS.The results point that the kda-PLS method can transfer the PLS model developed on the primary instrument to the secondary ones,and achieve results comparable to the those of reestablishing a new PLS model on the secondary instrument,with R_(P)^(2)=0.9979(R_(P)^(2):coefficients of determination of the prediction set),RMSEP=0.0040(RMSEP:root mean square error of the prediction set),and MREP=3.03%(MREP:mean relative error of the prediction set).Therefore,kda-PLS will provide a new method for quantitative analysis of methanol content in methanol gasoline. | XU Yanyan LI Maogang FENG Ting JIAO Long WU Fengtian ZHANG Tianlong TANG Hongsheng LI Hua | 2022 | Chemical Research in Chinese Universities2022,38,4: | 0 |
