| 1 | Characterization of the receptor-binding domain(RBD)of 2019 novel coronavirus:implication for development of RBD protein as a viral attachment inhibitor and vaccine显示文摘The outbreak of Coronavirus Disease 2019(COVID-19)has posed a serious threat to global public health,calling for the development of safe and effective prophylactics and therapeutics against infection of its causative agent,severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2),also known as 2019 novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV).The CoV spike(S)protein plays the most important roles in viral attachment,fusion and entry,and serves as a target for development of antibodies,entry inhibitors and vaccines.Here,we identified the receptor-binding domain(RBD)in SARS-CoV-2 S protein and found that the RBD protein bound strongly to human and bat angiotensin-converting enzyme 2(ACE2)receptors.SARS-CoV-2 RBD exhibited significantly higher binding affinity to ACE2 receptor than SARS-CoV RBD and could block the binding and,hence,attachment of SARS-CoV-2 RBD and SARS-CoV RBD to ACE2-expressing cells,thus inhibiting their infection to host cells.SARS-CoV RBD-specific antibodies could crossreact with SARS-CoV-2 RBD protein,and SARS-CoV RBD-induced antisera could cross-neutralize SARS-CoV-2,suggesting the potential to develop SARS-CoV RBD-based vaccines for prevention of SARS-CoV-2 and SARS-CoV infection. | Wanbo Tai Lei He Xiujuan Zhang Jing Pu Denis Voronin Shibo Jiang Yusen Zhou Lanying Du | 2020 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2020,17,6: | 35 |
| 2 | Unmanned air vehicle flow separation control using dielectric barrier discharge plasma at high wind speed显示文摘The present paper described an experimental investigation of separation control of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV)at high wind speeds.The plasma actuator was based on Dielectric Barrier Discharge(DBD)and operated in a steady manner.The flow over a wing of UAV was performed with smoke flow visualization in theΦ0.75 m low speed wind tunnel to reveal the flow structure over the wing so that the locations of plasma actuators could be optimized.A full model of the UAV was experimentally investigated in theΦ3.2 m low speed wind tunnel using a six-component internal strain gauge balance.The effects of the key parameters,including the locations of the plasma actuators,the applied voltage amplitude and the operating frequency,were obtained.The whole test model was made of aluminium and acted as a cathode of the actuator.The results showed that the plasma acting on the surface of UAV could obviously suppress the boundary layer separation and reduce the model vibration at the high wind speeds.It was found that the maximum lift coefficient of the UAV was increased by 2.5%and the lift/drag ratio was increased by about 80%at the wind speed of 100 m/s.The control mechanism of the plasma actuator at the test configuration was also analyzed. | ZHANG Xin HUANG Yong WANG WanBo WANG XunNian LI HuaXing | 2014 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2014,57,6: | 8 |
| 3 | Leading-edge flow separation control over an airfoil using a symmetrical dielectric barrier discharge plasma actuator显示文摘In order to promote an in-depth understanding of the mechanism of leading-edge flow separation control over an airfoil using a symmetrical Dielectric Barrier Discharge(DBD) plasma actuator excited by a steady-mode excitation, an experimental investigation of an SC(2)-0714 supercritical airfoil with a symmetrical DBD plasma actuator was performed in a closed chamber and a low-speed wind tunnel. The plasma actuator was mounted at the leading edge of the airfoil.Time-resolved Particle Image Velocimetry(PIV) results of the near-wall region in quiescent air suggested that the symmetrical DBD plasma actuator could induce some coherent structures in the separated shear layer, and these structures were linked to a dominant frequency of f0= 39 Hz when the peak-to-peak voltage of the plasma actuator was 9.8 kV. In addition, an analysis of flow structures without and with plasma actuation around the upper side of the airfoil at an angle of attack of18° for a wind speed of 3 m/s(Reynolds number Re = 20000) indicated that the dynamic process of leading-edge flow separation control over an airfoil could be divided into three stages. Initially, this plasma actuator could reinforce the shedding vortices in the separated shear layer. Then, these vortical structures could deflect the separated flow towards the wall by promoting the mixing between the outside flow with a high kinetic energy and the flow near the surface. | 5 | Comparison of Modified Mohr-Coulomb Model and Bai-Wierzbicki Model for Constructing 3D Ductile Fracture Envelope of AA6063显示文摘Ductile fracture of metal often occurs in the plastic forming process of parts.The establishment of ductile fracture criterion can effectively guide the selection of process parameters and avoid ductile fracture of parts during machining.The 3D ductile fracture envelope of AA6063-T6 was developed to predict and prevent its fracture.Smooth round bar tension tests were performed to characterize the flow stress,and a series of experiments were conducted to characterize the ductile fracture firstly,such as notched round bar tension tests,compression tests and torsion tests.These tests cover a wide range of stress triaxiality(ST)and Lode parameter(LP)to calibrate the ductile fracture criterion.Plasticity modeling was performed,and the predicted results were compared with corresponding experimental data to verify the plasticity model after these experiments.Then the relationship between ductile fracture strain and ST with LP was constructed using the modified Mohr-Coulomb(MMC)model and Bai-Wierzbicki(BW)model to develop the 3D ductile fracture envelope.Finally,two ductile damage models were proposed based on the 3D fracture envelope of AA6063.Through the comparison of the two models,it was found that BW model had better fitting effect,and the sum of squares of residual error of BW model was 0.9901.The two models had relatively large errors in predicting the fracture strain of SRB tensile test and torsion test,but both of the predicting error of both two models were within the acceptable range of 15%.In the process of finite element simulation,the evolution process of ductile fracture can be well simulated by the two models.However,BW model can predict the location of fracture more accurately than MMC model. | Jianye Gao Tao He Yuanming Huo Miao Song Tingting Yao Wanbo Yang | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2021,34,2: | 6 |

| 7 | Mapping and analysis of a spatiotemporal H3K27ac and gene expression spectrum in pigs显示文摘The limited knowledge of genomic noncoding and regulatory regions has restricted our ability to decipher the genetic mechanisms underlying complex traits in pigs. In this study, we characterized the spatiotemporal landscape of putative enhancers and promoters and their target genes by combining H3K27ac-targeted Ch IP-Seq and RNA-Seq in fetal(prenatal days 74–75) and adult(postnatal days 132–150) tissues(brain, liver, heart, muscle and small intestine) sampled from Asian aboriginal Bama Xiang and European highly selected Large White pigs of both sexes. We identified 101,290 H3K27ac peaks, marking 18,521promoters and 82,769 enhancers, including peaks that were active across all tissues and developmental stages(which could indicate safe harbor locus for exogenous gene insertion) and tissue-and developmental stage-specific peaks(which regulate gene pathways matching tissue-and developmental stage-specific physiological functions). We found that H3K27ac and DNA methylation in the promoter region of the XIST gene may be involved in X chromosome inactivation and demonstrated the utility of the present resource for revealing the regulatory patterns of known causal genes and prioritizing candidate causal variants for complex traits in pigs. In addition, we identified an average of 1,124 super-enhancers per sample and found that they were more likely to show tissue-specific activity than ordinary peaks.
