Tri(4-methoxybenzyloxyl)(pentamethylcyclopentadienyl)titanium/Modified MAO Catalyzed Polymerization of 1-Butene显示文摘Tri(4-methoxy-1-benzyloxyl)(pentamethylcyclopentadienyl)titanium(Cp*Ti(OBzOCH3)3) in conjunction with modified methylalumoxane(mMAO) was an efficient catalyst for the living polymerization of butene-1. The steric and highly electron-releasing nature of the catalyst was probably responsible for the resulting polymers with high molecular weight and narrow molecular weight distribution(Mw/Mn=1.25 to 1.36). The effects of polymerization conditions on the catalytic activity, molecular weight and stereo-regularity of the products were investigated in detail. Especially, the content of TMA in MAO used in polymerization of butene-1 had a profound influence on polymer microstructure. The structural properties of the polybutene-1 product were characterized by 13 C NMR, GPC, DSC and WAXD. The results indicated that the polybutene-1 was isotacticity-rich(at 0 ℃, [mmmm] reached up to 60.3%) and the relative content of methylene pentad sequences [mmmm] of the polymer increased with a decreasing temperature. | Wang Jing Zhou Lu Jiang Wanhe Huang Qigu | 2014 | China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2014,16,3: | 3
Recent advances in application of moving bed bioreactors for wastewater treatment from recirculating aquaculture systems: A review显示文摘In recent years, government investments in implementing restrictive public policies on the treatment and discharge of effluents from the aquaculture industry have increased.Hence, efficient and cleaner methods for aquaculture production are needed.Recirculating aquaculture systems(RAS)offers water conservation by recycling the treated aquaculture water for reuse.RAS wastewater treatment using a moving bed bioreactors(MBBRs)process has been considered well suited for maintaining good water quality, thereby making fish farming more sustainable.Currently, improvements were achieved in tackling the influence of salinity, organic matter, disinfectant, and bioreactor start-up process on the MBBR performance efficiency. This review highlights an updated overview of recent development made using MBBR to treat the residual water from RAS.Precisely, nitrification and simultaneous nitrification-denitrification(SND),and other hybrid processes for nitrogen removal were elucidated. Finally, future challenges and prospects of MBBRs in RAS facilities that need to be considered were also proposed. | Abubakar Shitu Gang Liu Aliyu Idris Muhammad Yadong Zhang Musa Abubakar Tadda Wanhe Qi Dezhao Liu Zhangying Ye Songming Zhu | 2022 | Aquaculture and Fisheries2022,7,3: | 3
Inhibition of the CDK9-cyclin T1 protein-protein interaction as a new approach against triple-negative breast cancer显示文摘Cyclin-dependent kinase 9(CDK9) activity is correlated with worse outcomes of triplenegative breast cancer(TNBC) patients. The heterodimer between CDK9 with cyclin T1 is essential for maintaining the active state of the kinase and targeting this protein-protein interaction(PPI) may offer promising avenues for selective CDK9 inhibition. Herein, we designed and generated a library of metal complexes bearing the 7-chloro-2-phenylquinoline CN ligand and tested their activity against the CDK9cyclin T1 PPI. Complex 1 bound to CDK9 via an enthalpically-driven binding mode, leading to disruption of the CDK9-cyclin T1 interaction in vitro and in cellulo. Importantly, complex 1 showed promising anti-metastatic activity against TNBC allografts in mice and was comparably active compared to cisplatin. To our knowledge, 1 is the first CDK9-cyclin T1 PPI inhibitor with anti-metastatic activity against TNBC. Complex 1 could serve as a new platform for the future design of more efficacious kinase inhibitors against cancer, including TNBC. | Sha-Sha Cheng Yuan-Qing Qu Jia Wu Guan-Jun Yang Hao Liu Wanhe Wang Qi Huang Feng Chen Guodong Li Chun-Yuen Wong Vincent Kam Wai Wong Dik-Lung Ma Chung-Hang Leung | 2022 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,3: | 2

The impact of social isolation on health and behavior in Drosophila melanogaster and beyond显示文摘Many organisms, including humans, have evolved dynamic social behaviors to promote survival.Public health studies show that isolation from social groups is a major risk factor for adverse health outcomes in humans, but these studies lack mechanistic understanding.Animal models can provide insight into the molecular and neural mechanisms underlying how social isolation impacts health through investigations using genetic, genomic, molecular, and neuroscience methods. In this review,we discuss Drosophila melanogaster as a robust genetic model for studying the effects of social isolation and for developing a mechanistic understanding of the perception of social isolation and how it impacts health. | Aabha Vora Andrew DNguyen Carmen Spicer Wanhe Li | 2022 | Brain Science Advances2022,8,3: | 1

Development of a dual targeting scaffold of SET7/MLL inhibitor for castration-resistant prostate cancer treatment显示文摘Histone methyltransferase enzyme SET7 and mixed-lineage leukemia protein(MLL)complex are crucial co-activators of androgen receptor(AR)and have recently emerged as potential therapeutic targets for advanced castration-resistant prostate cancer(CRPC).In this study,we described the identification of a rhodium-based hybrid complex(SM_1)as a potent blocker of AR activity via simultaneously inhibiting SET7 and MLL complex activity, which makes it a potential lead scaffold for CPRC drug development. | Guodong Li Qi Huang Vincent Kam Wai Wong Wanhe Wang Chung-Hang Leung | 2023 | Genes & Diseases2023,10,6: | 0
A pyrene-based ratiometric fluorescent probe with a large Stokes shift for selective detection of hydrogen peroxide in living cells显示文摘Hydrogen peroxide(H2O2)plays a significant role in regulating a variety of biological processes.Dysregulation of H2O2 can lead to various diseases.Although numerous fluorescent imaging probes for H2O2 have been reported, the development of H2O2 ratiometric fluorescent probe with large Stokes shift remains rather limited.Such probes have shown distinct advantages, such as minimized interference from environment and improved signal-to noise ratio. In this work,we reported a new pyrene-based compound Py-VPB as H2O2 fluorescent probe in vitro. The probe demonstrated ratiometric detection behavior, large Stokes shift and large emission shift. In addition, the probe showed high sensitivity and selectivity towards H2O2 in vitro.Based on these excellent properties,we successfully applied Py-VPB to the visualization of exogenous and endogenous H2O2 in living cells.Cell imaging study also showed that our probe was localized in the mitochondria. We envision that the probe can provide a useful tool for unmasking the biological roles of mitochondrial H2O2 in living systems. | Qingxin Chen Ke Cheng Wanhe Wang Liu Yang Yusheng Xie Ling Feng Jie Zhang Huatang Zhang Hongyan Sun | 2020 | Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2020,10,5: | 0
A robust luminescent assay for screening alkyladenine DNA glycosylase inhibitors to overcome DNA repair and temozolomide drug resistance显示文摘Temozolomide(TMZ)is an anticancer agent used to treat glioblastoma, typically following radiation therapy and/or surgical resection. However, despite its effectiveness,at least 50%of patients do not respond to TMZ,which is associated with repair and/or tolerance of TMZ-induced DNA lesions.Studies have demonstrated that alkyladenine DNA glycosylase(AAG),an enzyme that triggers the base excision repair(BER)pathway by excising TMZ-induced N3-methyladenine(3meA)and N7-methylguanine lesions,is overexpressed in glioblastoma tissues compared to normal tissues. Therefore,it is essential to develop a rapid and efficient screening method for AAG inhibitors to overcome TMZ resistance in glioblastomas.Herein,we report a robust time-resolved photoluminescence platform for identifying AAG inhibitors with improved sensitivity compared to conventional steady-state spectroscopic methods. As a proof-of-concept,this assay was used to screen 1440 food and drug administration-approved drugs against AAG,resulting in the repurposing of sunitinib as a potential AAG inhibitor.Sunitinib restored glioblastoma(GBM)cancer cell sensitivity to TMZ,inhibited GBM cell proliferation and stem cell characteristics, and induced GBM cell cycle arrest.Overall, this strategy offers a new method for the rapid identification of small-molecule inhibitors of BER enzyme activities that can prevent false negatives due to a fluorescent background. | Ying-Qi Song Guo-Dong Li Dou Niu Feng Chen Shaozhen Jing Vincent Kam Wai Wong Wanhe Wang Chung-Hang Leung | 2023 | Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2023,13,5: | 0
