| 1 | Petrology and mineral chemistry of new ureilites found in Grove Mountains,Antarctica显示文摘Petrography and mineral chemistry of two new ureilites, GRV 021512 and 022931, from the Grove Mountains, Antarctica, are reported in this paper. GRV 021512 exhibits a typical ureilite texture, and consists of 48.3% olivine, 9.4% pigeonite and 38.1% carbo- naceous interstitial material and/or reduction product. GRV 022931 has a cataclastic porphyritic texture, and consists of 19.1% olivine and 14.1% pigeonite embedded in 66.3% carbonaceous interstitial material and/or reduction product. The coarse-grained olivine and pigeonite in both meteorites have homogeneous cores, and they are FeO-rich within the range of the ferroan subgroup (subgroup I) of olivine-pigeonite ureilites. All olivine grains of the meteorites show reduction zones along boundaries and cracks. Abundant diamond coexists with graphite as graphite-rich patches and veins in the carbonaceous interstitial material. | 2 | Cosmic-ray exposure and gas retention ages of the Guang-mingshan(H5) chondrite显示文摘Isotopic compositions of noble gases from the Guangmingshan chondrite were analyzed. Based on the analyses of cosmogenic nuclei, cosmic-ray exposure age of the meteorite is (65±10.0) Ma (3He), (80±12) Ma (21Ne) and (65±10.0) Ma (38Ar), with an average of 70 Ma. This is the highest exposure age of H-group ordinary chondrites. Gas retention ages of K-Ar and U, Th-4He are (4230±100) Ma and (3300±60) Ma, respectively. The smaller ages of 3He than 21Ne and 4He than Ar suggest that both 3He and 4He lost together. | 3 | Noble gas and cosmic-ray exposure age of Juancheng chondrite显示文摘The analytical results of noble gase in recently fallen Juancheng chondrite indicate that cosmic-ray ages of cosmogenic nuclei of 3He, 21Ne and 38Ar are 5.1, 5.0 and 5.8 Ma, respectively, averaging 5.3 Ma. The gas retention ages radiogenic nuclei of 4He and 40Ar are 3200 and 4 200 Ma, respectively. | 4 | Reduced salinity interacts with ultraviolet radiation to alter photosystem Ⅱ function in diatom Skeletonema costatum显示文摘To investigate the effect of reduced salinity on diatoms’ capacity to cope with changing ultraviolet radiation(U VR) and photosynthetically active radiation(PAR),Skeletonema costatum was grown in a range of salinity(15,25,and 35).The photo system Ⅱ(PSⅡ) function was analyzed by increasing PAR and UVR to mimic a mixing event in turbulent waters.The re sults show that high UVR exposure significantly reduced PSII activity,especially in cells grown at low salinity.UVR,but not salinity,stimulated the ’removal’ rate of PSII protein PsbA.Salinity alone,in the range of 15 to 35,did not regulate PSⅡ acceptor region;however,the low salinity+UVR treatment decreased the energy flux for electron transport per PSⅡ reaction center in S.costatum.It showed that low salinity exacerbated the damaging effect of UVR on PSⅡ function in S.costatum by suppressing Psb A protein synthe sis and modifying the photochemistry of PSⅡ.Although higher catalase(CAT) activity and NPQs were induced,they were unable to prevent the combined damage effect of low salinity+UVR.Our findings indicate that reduced salinity and increased UVR potentially affect the abundance and distribution of S.costatum with the escalation of climate disturbances. | Shasha ZANG Fang YAN Daode YU Jingjing SONG Lei WANG Zhiguang XU Hongyan WU | 2022 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2022,40,4: | 1 |
| 5 | Rapid identification of spinal ventral and dorsal roots using a quartz crystal microbalance显示文摘The fast and accurate identification of nerve tracts is critical for successful nerve anastomosis.Taking advantage of differences in acetylcholinesterase content between the spinal ventral and dorsal roots,we developed a novel quartz crystal microbalance method to distinguish between these nerves based on acetylcholinesterase antibody reactivity.The acetylcholinesterase antibody was immobilized on the electrode surface of a quartz crystal microbalance and reacted with the acetylcholinesterase in sample solution.The formed antigen and antibody complexes added to the mass of the electrode inducing a change in frequency of the electrode.The spinal ventral and dorsal roots were distinguished by the change in frequency.The ventral and dorsal roots were cut into 1 to 2-mm long segments and then soaked in 250 μL PBS.Acetylcholinesterase antibody was immobilized on the quartz crystal microbalance gold electrode surface.The results revealed that in 10 minutes,both spinal ventral and dorsal roots induced a frequency change;however,the frequency change induced by the ventral roots was notably higher than that induced by the dorsal roots.No change was induced by bovine serum albumin or PBS.These results clearly demonstrate that a quartz crystal microbalance sensor can be used as a rapid,highly sensitive and accurate detection tool for the quick identification of spinal nerve roots intraoperatively. | Tao Sui Jun Que Dechao Kong Hao Xie Daode Wang Kun Shi Xiaojian Cao Xiang Li | 2013 | Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,8: | 1 |
| 6 | Grove Mountains (GRV) 024237: A new ureilite from Antarctica显示文摘Ureilites share the characteristics of differentiated meteorites and of primary chondrites. GRV 024237 is a ureilite, which was found in the 19th Chinese National Antarctic Research Expedition (CHINARE), at the No. 4 moraine, Grove Mountains, Antarctica. GRV 024237 consists mainly of coarse-grained olivine (60 vol%), pigeonite (30 vol%) and opaque minerals (10 vol%). Tri-junction texture between olivine and pigeonite is common. Carbonaceous materials with minor amounts of troilite and nickel-iron metal were observed as interstitial phases. The Fa value of olivine composition varies from 6.2 to 16.8 from rim to core, but pyroxene is homogeneous in composition, with Fs 14.0 to 15.5. Both olivine and pyroxene have normal extinctions. Net-like iron or limonite veins filled in the fractures of olivine and pyroxene, and no diamond was observed. | 7 | A New Species of the Genus Protobothrops(Squamata: Viperidae) from Southern Tibet, China and Sikkim, India显示文摘A new species of the genus Protobothrops Hoge & Romano-Hoge, 1983, was described from Jilong County, southern Tibet, China, and Chungthang, northern Sikkim, India. It differs from congeners by the following characters: 1) relatively large body size(total length up to 1510 mm); 2) dorsal scale rows 25–25–19; 3) except for the smooth outermost row, dorsal scales are weakly keeled; 4) relatively high number of ventral(198–216) and subcaudal(65–76 pairs) scales; 5) 7–8 supralabials; 6) 11 to 13 infralabials; 7) dorsal head uniform dark brown, laterally a reddish-brown obscure postocular streak; 8) dorsum of trunk and tail olive, with distinct black edged red brown transverse bands across the body and tail; and 9) eye from bright brown and reddish brown to mildly brown. | 8 | Neutron capture effects and pre-atmospheric sizes of meteoroids显示文摘Excesses of 80Kr and 82Kr, produced by secondary neutron capture effects of 79Br and 81Br, were observed in meteorites. Epithermal neutron flux, Jn (30—300 eV), and fast neutron flux, Jn( > 5 MeV), were determined according to reactions of 79Br(n, gb)80Kr, 81Br(n, gb)82Kr, and 24Mg(n, a)21Ne, respectively. Cosmogenic noble gases of several ordinary chondrites fell in China indicate a positive relationship between Jn (30—300 eV)/Jn ( > 5 MeV) ratio and Jn (30—300 eV). This suggests large pre-atmospheric sizes of the meteorites, and a considerable fraction of the secondary neutrons were slowed down to epithermal energy. | 10 | Metallic phases of Dong Ujimqin mesosiderite:A field emission scanning electron microscope study显示文摘The microstructure of Fe-Ni metallic phases in Dong Ujimqin mesosiderite was studied using the field emission SEM. Taenite is characterized by a zoned structure, consisting of outer clear taenite and inner cloudy zone (CZ). CZ has a typical 'island-honeycomb' microstructure. The average size of the island phase is about 358 nm, suggesting a cooling rate of~0.5℃/Ma at low temperature (<400℃). The Ni concentration profiles across kamacite and zoned taenite were also measured by electron probe microscope analysis (EPMA). | 12 | Observation and analysis of morphology abnormalities in development of Oryzias melastigma embryos显示文摘Fish embryos are widely used as models in toxicology,drug development,and human disease research because of their high sensitivity,observability,and operability,providing the basis for an in-depth understanding of the embryogenesis.Increasing studies have indicated that birth defects are hereditary.In this study,we used Oryzias melastigma as a model to conduct a study of 185-day embryogenesis and observed self-induced non-pathological abnormal embryogenesis.O.melastigma experienced pre-puberty stage,adolescence stage,and senescence stage,and individuals produced up to 102 eggs per day.However,the fecundity was markedly reduced during the senescent stage.During the active egg and blastodisc stages,pseudo-fertilization and pseudo-blastocysts were observed.During cleavage at the 4-to 32-cell stages,we observed blastomeres separation or dislocation.Excessively separated blastomeres formed double blastoderms,eventually resulting in conjoined twins.During the blastula stage,we observed abnormally increased cell volume,narrowed and elongated blastocysts,and abnormally coated blastoderms.At the organogenesis stage,we observed abnormal numbers of Kupff er’s vesicles and conjoined twins.Abnormality in the location and number of oil droplets were observed in various development stages.Abnormal development was more commonly observed in fertilized eggs produced by broodstock in pre-puberty or senescence stages,which is probably related to the age of fish and the egg quality.This study can provide the materials for comparative analysis in toxicological and molecular studies of O.melastigma,and may provide evidence for other economic fish that produce sticky eggs. | Jingjing SONG Haiyi WU Kaikai LIU Wendan CHI Shanshan GE Zhipeng ZHANG Mingqi WANG Yi YU Daode YU | 2021 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2021,39,4: | 0 |
