| 1 | China's Engagement with the Sixteen Countries of Central, East and Southeast Europe under the Belt and Road Initiative显示文摘This paper provides an overview of China's burgeoning relationship with Central, Eastand Southeast Europe (CESEE) in the context of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).China has rapidly expanded the extent of its interactions with CESEE since 2012,and this region has subsequently become one of the focal points of the BRI. The keyfeature of China's engagement with CESEE is the devising of an experimental andinnovative approach, demonstrated in the establishment of an institutional mechanismfor cooperation with a particular group of16 CESEE countries (16+1). | 2 | Co-regulation of indole glucosinolates and camalexin biosynthesis by CPK5/CPK6 and MPK3/MPK6 signaling pathways^°°显示文摘Secondary plant metabolites,represented by indole glucosinolates(IGS)and camalexin,play important roles in Arabidopsis immunity.Previously,we demonstrated the importance of MPK3 and MPK6,two closely related MAPKs,in regulating Botrytis cinerea(Bc)-induced IGS and camalexin biosynthesis.Here we report that CPK5 and CPK6,two redundant calcium-dependent protein kinases(CPKs),are also involved in regulating the biosynthesis of these secondary metabolites.The loss-of-function of both CPK5 and CPK6 compromises plant resistance to Be.Expression profiling of CPK5-VK transgenic plants,in which a truncated constitutively active CPK5 is driven by a steroidinducible promoter,revealed that biosynthetic genes of both IGS and camalexin pathways are coordinately upregulated after the induction of CPK5-VK,leading to high-level accumulation of camalexin and 4-methoxyindole-3-ylmethylglucosinolate(4MI3G).Induction of camalexin and 4MI3G,as well as the genes in their biosynthesis pathways,is greatly compromised in cpks cpk6 mutant in response to Be.In a conditional cpk5 cpk6 mpk3 mpk6 quadruple mutant,Be resistance and induction of IGS and camalexin are further reduced in comparison to either cpks cpk6 or conditional mpk3 mpk6 double mutant,suggesting that both CPK5/CPK6 and MPK3/MPK6 signaling pathways contribute to promote the biosynthesis of 4MI3G and camalexin in defense against Be. | Liuyi Vang Yan Zhang Rongxia Guan Sen Li Xuwen Xu Shuqun Zhang Juan Xu | 2020 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2020，62，11： | 6 |

| 6 | Hepatitis C virus recurrence after liver transplantation:A 10-year evaluation显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the predictors of 10-year survival of patients with hepatitis C recurrence. METHODS: Data from 358 patients transplanted between 1989 and 2010 in two Italian transplant centers and with evidence of hepatitis C recurrence were analyzed. A χ2, Fisher's exact test and Kruskal Wallis' test were used for categorical and continuous variables, respectively. Survival analysis was performed at 10 years after transplant using the Kaplan-Meier method, and a log-rank test was used to compare groups. A P level less than 0.05 was considered significant for all tests. Multivariate analysis of the predictive role of different variables on 10-year survival was performed by a stepwise Cox logistic regression.RESULTS: The ten-year survival of the entire population was 61.2%. Five groups of patients were identified according to the virological response or lack of a response to antiviral treatment and, among those who were not treated, according to the clinical status(mild hepatitis C recurrence, 'too sick to be treated' and patients with comorbidities contraindicating the treatment). While the 10-year survival of treated and untreated patients was not different(59.1% vs 64.7%, P = 0.192), patients with a sustained virological response had a higher 10-year survival rate than both the 'non-responders'(84.7% vs 39.8%, P < 0.0001) and too sick to be treated(84.7% vs 0%, P < 0.0001). Sustained virological responders had a survival rate comparable to patients untreated with mild recurrence(84.7% vs 89.3%). A sustained virological response and young donor age were independent predictors of 10-year survival. CONCLUSION: Sustained virological response significantly increased long-term survival.
