| 1 | Relationship between vascular endothelium and periodontal disease in atherosclerotic lesions: Review article显示文摘Inflammation and endothelial dysfunction are linked to the pathogenesis of atherosclerotic disease. Recent studies suggest that periodontal infection and the ensuing increase in the levels of inflammatory markers may be associated with myocardial infarction, peripheral vascular disease and cerebrovascular disease. | 2 | 通过手术导致的重量损失由胃绕过在疾病的肥胖的病人改进非含酒精的脂肪肝疾病显示文摘 AIM:To evaluate the effects of surgical weight loss(Roux-en-Y gastric bypass with a modified Fobi-Capella technique) on non alcoholic fatty liver disease in obese patients.METHODS:A group of 26 morbidly obese patients aged 45 ± 2 years and with a body mass index > 40 kg/m 2 who underwent open surgical weight loss operations had paired liver biopsies,the first at surgery and the second after 16 ± 3 mo of weight loss.Biopsies were evaluated and compared in a blinded fashion.The presence of metabolic syndrome,anthropometric and biochemical variables were also assessed at baseline and at the time of the second biopsy.RESULTS:Percentage of excess weight loss was 72.1% ± 6.6%.There was a reduction in prevalence of metabolic syndrome from 57.7%(15 patients) to 7.7%(2 patients)(P < 0.001).Any significance difference was observed in aspartate aminotransferase or alanine aminotransferase between pre and postsurgery.There were improvements in steatosis(P < 0.001),lobular(P < 0.001) and portal(P < 0.05) inflammation and fibrosis(P < 0.001) at the second biopsy.There were 25(96.1%) patients with non alcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH) in their index biopsy and only four(15.3%) of the repeat biopsies fulfilled the criteria for NASH.The persistence of fibrosis(F > 1) was present in five patients at second biopsy.Steatosis and fibrosis at surgery were predictors of significant fibrosis postsurgery.CONCLUSION:Restrictive mildly malabsorptive surgery provides significant weight loss,resolution of metabolic syndrome and associated abnormal liver histological features in most obese patients. | Víctor Vargas Helena Allende Albert Lecube Maria Teresa Salcedo Juan A Baena-Fustegueras José M Fort Joaquín Rivero Roser Ferrer Roberto Catalán Eva Pardina Santiago Ramón y Cajal Jaime Guardia Julia Peinado-Onsurbe | 2012 | World Journal of Hepatology2012，4，12： | 6 |
| 3 | Numerical and safety considerations about the Daguangbao landslide induced by the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake显示文摘The 2008 Wenchuan earthquake resulted in a large number of fatalities and caused significant economic losses.Thousands of landslides,many of which are very large,were triggered by the earthquake.A majority of catastrophic landslides were distributed along the central Longmenshan fault system,at the eastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau.Some of the landslides resulted in sudden damming of rivers causing flooding,which in turn induced secondary sliding disasters.Among the most significant landslides,the Daguangbao landslide was the largest in volume with the maximum thickness.For this,a numerical model of the Daguangbao landslide,using the material point method(MPM),was developed to simulate the interaction of the seismic loads imposed on the slope.The numerical results then are compared with the post-earthquake profile.As a consequence of the landslide,a nearly vertical head scarp with a maximum height of about 700 m was generated.This is considered as a high risk situation that requires constant monitoring and evaluation.Finally,we propose a methodology based on Bayesian networks(BNs)to manage the risk associated with the stability of the rockwall at the Daguangbao landslide site. | Manchao He L.Ribeiro e Sousa AndréMüller Eurípedes Vargas Jr. R.L.Sousa C.Sousa Oliveira Weili Gong | 2019 | Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2019，11，5： | 4 |

| 5 | Interaction of the major inflammatory bowel disease susceptibility alleles in Crohn’s disease patients显示文摘AIM:To investigate the interaction of interleukin-23 receptor(IL23R)(rs1004819 and rs2201841),autophagy-related 16-like 1(ATG16L1)(rs2241880), caspase recruitment domain-containing protein 15 (CARD15)genes,and IBD5 locus in Crohn's disease(CD) patients. METHODS:A total of 315 unrelated subjects with CD and 314 healthy controls were genotyped.Interactions and specific genotype combinations of a total of eight variants were tested.The variants of IBD5locus(IGR2198a_1 rs11739135 and IGR2096a_1 rs12521868),CARD15(R702W rs2066845 and L1007fs rs2066847),ATG16L1(rs2241880)and IL23R (rs1004819,rs2201841)genes were genotyped by PCR-RFLP,the G908R(rs2066844)in CARD15 was determined by direct sequencing. RESULTS:The association of ATG16L1 T300A with CD was confirmed[P=0.004,odds ratio(OR)=1.69, 95%CI:1.19-2.41],and both IL23R variants were found to represent significant risk for the disease(P= 0.008,OR=2.05,95%CI:1.20-3.50 for rs1004819 AA;P<0.001,OR=2.97,95%CI:1.65-5.33 for rs2201841 CC).Logistic regression analysis of pairwise interaction of the inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)loci indicated that IL23R,ATG16L1,CARD15 and IBD5(IGR2198a_1)contribute independently to disease risk.We also analysed the specific combina- tions by pair of individual ATG16L1,IL23R rs1004819, rs2201841,IGR2198a_1,IGR2096a_1 and CARD15 genotypes for disease risk influence.In almost all cases,the combined risk of susceptibility pairs was higher in patients carrying two different risk-associated gene variants together than individuals with just one polymorphism.The highest OR was found for IL23R rs2201841 homozygous genotype with combination of positive CARD15 status(P<0.001,OR=9.15,95% CI:2.05-40.74).
