3Long-term thermal regimes of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway embankments in plateau permafrost regions显示文摘Ten years of ground temperature data(2003–2013) indicate that the long-term thermal regimes within embankments of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway(QTR) vary significantly with different embankment structures. Obvious asymmetries exist in the ground temperature fields within the traditional embankment(TE) and the crushed-rock basement embankment(CRBE). Measurements indicate that the TE and CRBE are not conducive to maintaining thermal stability. In contrast, the ground temperature fields of both the crushed-rock sloped embankment(CRSE) and the U-shaped crushed-rock embankment(UCRE) were symmetrical. However, the UCRE gave better thermal stability than the CRSE because slow warming of deep permafrost was observed under the CRSE. Therefore, the UCRE has the best long-term effect of decreasing ground temperature and improving the symmetry of the temperature field. More generally, it is concluded that construction using the cooling-roadbed principle meets the design requirements for long-term stability of the railway and for train transport speeds of 100 km h?1. 4Hepatocellular carcinoma: Review of disease and tumor biomarkers显示文摘Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) is a common malignancy and now the second commonest global cause of cancer death. HCC tumorigenesis is relatively silent and patients experience late symptomatic presentation. As the option for curative treatments is limited to early stage cancers, diagnosis in non-symptomatic individuals is crucial. International guidelines advise regular surveillance of high-risk populations but the current tools lack sufficient sensitivity for early stage tumors on the background of a cirrhotic nodular liver. A number of novel biomarkers have now been suggested in the literature, which may reinforce the current surveillance methods. In addition, recent metabonomic and proteomic discoveries have established specific metabolite expressions in HCC, according to Warburg's phenomenon of altered energy metabolism. 5AN APPROACH IN MODELING TWO-DIMENSIONAL PARTIALLY CAVITATING FLOW显示文摘An approach of modeling viscosity, unsteady partially cavitating flows around lifting bodies is presented. By em ploying an one-fluid Navier-Stokers solver, the algorithm is proved to be able to handle two-dimensional laminar cavitating flows at moderate Reynolds numbe r. Based on the state equation of water-vapor mixture, the constructive relatio ns of densities and pressures are established. To numerically simulate the cavi ty wall, different pseudo transition of density models are presumed. 6烧伤内毒素血症显示文摘1985年7月~1987年11月,对收治于美国约翰·霍普金斯大学巴尔的摩烧伤中心的68例烧伤病人,采用基质显色法鲎试验进行了407次血浆内毒素的定量检测,经多次验证,该试剂稳定可靠,但也发现两个问题:(1)目前广泛用加热+稀释的方法企图移除血浆中干扰内毒素检出的因素(我们用70℃,10min)尚无法全部移除该干扰因素。通过对204个血浆标本(包括部分正常对照的人血浆)加入已知量标准内毒素的检测,平均检出率只达54.2%。在未能全部解决这一难题前,应对各个样品另加已知量的内毒素求其检出率,再行换算,才能获得血浆内真正的内毒素值。(2)肝素可明显抑制内毒素的检出,采全血5ml,抗凝用的肝素应不超过20U,否则,内毒素检出值将相应下降。对一组39例不同烧伤面积的病人,在伤后5天内连续进行血浆内毒素的检测,血循环中总内毒素的平均量与烧伤面积相关,伤后3~4天有一峰值。另对29例烧伤面积20~75%病人,进行伤后两周内定期抽血检查、内毒素阳性者17例(占58.6%)。提示烧伤后内毒素血症比较常见。本组内毒素血症与革兰氏阴性杆菌菌血症或创面脓毒症的相关率为71%。其他来源,尚待探索。肖光夏 Winchurch RA Thupari UN Munster AM 1989解放军医学杂志1989,14,2:10
7Diffusion-weighted imaging of biliopancreatic disorders:Correlation with conventional magnetic resonance imaging显示文摘Diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging(DWI)is a well established method for the evaluation of intracranial diseases,such as acute stroke.DWI for extracranial application is more difficult due to physiological motion artifacts and the heterogeneous composition of the organs.However,thanks to the newer technical development of DWI,DWI has become increasingly used over the past few years in extracranial organs including the abdomen and pelvis.Most previous studies of DWI have been limited to the evaluation of diffuse parenchymal abnormalities and focal lesions in abdominal organs,whereas there are few studies about DWI for the evaluation of the biliopancreatic tract.Although further studies are needed to determine its performance in evaluating bile duct,gallbladder and pancreas diseases,DWI has potential in the assessment of the functional information on the biliopancreatic tract concerning the status of tissue cellularity,because increased cellularity is associated with impeded diffusion,as indicated by a reduction in the apparent diffusion coefficient.The detection of malignant lesions and their differentiation from benign tumor-like lesions in the biliopancreatic tract could be improved using DWI in conjunction with findings obtained with conventional magnetic resonance cholagiopancreatography.Additionally,DWI can be useful for the assessment of the biliopancreatic tract in patients with renal impairment because contrast-enhanced computed tomography or magnetic resonance scans should be avoided in these patients.Nam Kyung Lee Suk Kim Gwang Ha Kim Dong Uk Kim Hyung Il Seo Tae Un Kim Dae Hwan Kang Ho Jin Jang 2012World Journal of Gastroenterology2012,18,31:8
8Removal of primary iron rich phase from aluminum-silicon melt by centrifugal separation显示文摘Recycling is a major consideration in continued aluminum use due to the enormous demand for high quality products. Some impurity elements gradually accumulate through the repetitive reuse of aluminum alloy scrap. Of them, the iron content should be suppressed under the allowed limit. In the present research, a novel separation method was introduced to remove primary iron-rich intermetallic compounds by centrifugation during solidification of Al-Si-Fe alloys. This method does not use the density difference between two phases as in other centrifugal methods, but uses the order of solidification in Al-Si-Fe alloys, because iron promotes the formation of intermetallic compounds with other alloying elements as a primary phase. Two Al-Si-Fe alloys which have different iron contents were chosen as the starting materials. The iron-rich phase could be efficiently removed by centrifuging under a centrifugal force of 40 g. Coarse intermetallic compounds were found in the sample inside the crucible, while rather fine intermetallic compounds were found in the sample outside the crucible. Primary intermetallic compounds were linked to each other via aluminum-rich matrix, and formed like a network. The highest iron removal fraction is 67% and the lowest one is 7% for Al-12Si-1.7Fe alloy. 9Dynamic recrystallization behavior and microstructural evolution of Mg alloy AZ31 through high-speed rolling显示文摘High-speed rolling(HSR) is known to improve the workability of Mg alloys significantly, which makes it possible to impose a large reduction in a single pass without fracture. In the present study, dynamic recrystallization(DRX) behavior and microstructural and textural variations of Mg alloy AZ31 during a HSR process were investigated by conducting rolling with different imposed reductions in the range of 20%–80% at a high rolling speed of 470 m/min and 400?C. High-strain-rate deformation during HSR suppresses dislocation slips but promotes twinning, which results in the formation of numerous twins of several types, i.e., {10–12} extension twins, {10–11} and {10–13} contraction twins,and {10–11}–{10–12} double twins. After twinning, high strain energy is accumulated in twin bands because their crystallographic orientations are favorable for basal slips, leading to subsequent DRX at the twin bands. Accordingly, twinning activation and twinning-induced DRX behavior play crucial roles in accommodating plastic deformation during HSR and in varying microstructure and texture of the highspeed-rolled(HSRed) sheets. Area fraction of fine DRXed grains formed at the twin bands increases with increasing rolling reduction, which is attributed to the combined effects of increased strain, strain rate,and deformation temperature and a decreased critical strain for DRX. Size, internal strain, and texture intensity of the DRXed grains are smaller than those of unDRXed grains. 11THREE DIMENSIONAL MATHEMATICAL MODEL OF SEDIMENT TRANSPORT IN ESTUARINE REGIONS-A CASE STUDY OF THE HAIHE RIVER MOUTH显示文摘A 3-D numerical model for simulating tidal flow and sediment transport in the estuarine regions is presented in this paper. The model adopts -coordinate system and carries out -coordinate transformation to the basic equations, which ensure that all horizontal area has equal numbers of calculation points in vertical direction, this method provides higher distinguishable rate to the flow and sediment transport. Under the -coordinate system, the Galerkin finite-element method is applied for horizontal domain by using a new specially interpolating shape functions, while a finite difference approximation is employed over depth. The model can be used even in the situations with a considerable variety in the water depth in the computational domain. The model is verified by a test for which analytical solutions are available and then applied to simulate the tidal current and sediment transport of the Haihe River Mouth. A modeling system of sediment transport is established for applying to muddy estuary of North China. 13Accelerated precipitation behavior of cast Mg-Al-Zn alloy by grain refinement显示文摘This study demonstrates that the precipitation behavior of ?-Mg17 Al12 phase during aging and the resultant variation in hardness and mechanical properties of cast Mg-Al-Zn alloy are strongly dependent on initial grain size. Grain size reduction accelerates discontinuous precipitation at the early stage of aging treatment by increasing the area fraction of grain boundaries that can act as nucleation sites for discontinuous precipitates(DP), but it does not influence DP growth rate. Grain refinement also prematurely terminates continuous precipitation because the formation of a large number of DP reduces the amount of Al dissolved in the matrix, which is required for the formation of continuous precipitates(CP). This promotion of DP formation and early termination of CP formation significantly decrease the peak-aging time to one-third. The enhanced precipitation behavior also leads to an additional hardness improvement in the aged alloy, along with an increase in hardness owing to grain boundary strengthening by grain refinement. The amount of increase in hardness changes with aging time, which is determined by the variation of three variables with aging time: DP fraction difference between refined and nonrefined alloys, hardness difference between DP and matrix, and matrix hardness difference between the two alloys. Grain refinement improves both tensile strength and ductility of the homogenized alloy owing to grain boundary strengthening and suppression of twinning activation, respectively. 17Inactivation of TFEB and NF-kB by marchantin M alleviates the chemotherapy-driven pro-tumorigenic senescent secretion显示文摘It is critical to regulate the senescence-associated secretory phenotype(SASP) due to its effect on promoting malignant phenotypes and limiting the efficiency of cancer therapy. In this study, we demonstrated that marchantin M(Mar-M, a naturally occurring bisbibenzyl) suppressed proinflammatory SASP components which were elevated in chemotherapy-resistant cells. Mar-M treatment attenuated the pro-tumorigenic effects of SASP and enhanced survival in drug-resistant mouse models.No toxicity was detected on normal fibroblast cells or in animals following this treatment. Inactivation of transcription factor EB(TFEB) and nuclear factor-k B(NF-k B) by Mar-M significantly accounted for its suppression on the components of SASP. Furthermore, inhibition of SASP by Mar-M contributed to a synergistic effect during co-treatment with doxorubicin to lower toxicity and enhance antitumor efficacy. Thus, chemotherapy-driven pro-inflammatory activity, seen to contribute to drug-resistance, is an important target for Mar-M. 18Co-infection of SENV-D among chronic hepatitis C patients treated with combination therapy with high-dose interferon-alfa and ribavirin显示文摘AIM: The clinical significance of co-infection of SENV-D among patients with chronic hepatitis C (CHC) and response of both viruses to combination therapy with high-dose interferon-alfa (IFN) plus ribavirin remain uncertain and are being investigated.METHODS: Total 164 (97 males and 67 females, the mean age 48.1±11.4 years, range: 20-73 years, 128histologically proved) naive CHC patients were enrolled in this study. SENV-D DNA was tested by PCR method.Detection of serum HCV RNA was performed using a standardized automated qualitative RT-PCR assay (COBAS AMPLICOR HCV Test, version 2.0). HCV genotypes 1a,1b, 2a, 2b, and 3a were determined by using genotypespecific primers. Pretreatment HCV RNA levels were determined by using the branched DNA assay (Quantiplex HCV RNA 3.0). There are 156 patients receiving combination therapy with IFN 6 MU plus ribavirin for 24 wk and the response to therapy is determined.RESULTS: Sixty-one (37.2%) patients were positive for SENV-D DNA and had higher mean age than those who were negative (50.7±10.6 years vs46.6±11.6 years,P = 0.026). The rate of sustained viral response (SVR)for HCV and SENV-D were 67.3% (105/156) and 56.3%(27/48), respectively. By univariate analysis, the higher rate of SVR was significantly related to HCV genotype non-1b (P<0.001), younger ages (P = 0.014), lower pretreatment levels of HCV RNA (P = 0.019) and higher histological activity index (HAI) score for intralobular regeneration and focal necrosis (P = 0.037). By multivariate analyses, HCV genotype non-1b, younger age and lower pretreatment HCV RNA levels were significantly associated with HCV SVR (odds ratio (OR)/95% confidence interval (CI): 12.098/0.02-0.19, 0.936/0.890-0.998, and 3.131/1.080-9.077, respectively). The SVR of SENV-D was higher among patients clearing SENV-D than those who had viremia at the end of therapy (P = 0.04).CONCLUSION: Coexistent SENV-D infection, apparently associated with higher ages, is found in more than onethird Taiwan Residents CHC patients. Both HCV and SENV-D are highly susceptible to combination therapy with high-dose IFN and ribavirin and SENV-D co-infection does not affect the HCV response. 20Garcinia Cambogia attenuates diet-induced adiposity but exacerbates hepatic collagen accumulation and inflammation显示文摘AIM: To investigate long-term effects of Garcinia Cambogia (GC), weight-loss supplement, on adiposity and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in obese mice. METHODS: Obesity-prone C57BL/6J mice were fed a high-fat diet (HFD, 45 kcal% fat) with or without GC (1%, w/w) for 16 wk. The HFD contained 45 kcal% fat, 20 kcal% protein and 35 kcal% carbohydrate. They were given free access to food and distilled water, and food consumption and body weight were measured daily and weekly, respectively. Data were expressed as the mean ± SE. Statistical analyses were performed using the statistical package for the social science software program. Student's t test was used to assess the differences between the groups. Statistical significance was considered at P < 0.05. RESULTS: There were no significant changes in body weight and food intake between the groups. However, the supplementation of GC significantly lowered visceral fat accumulation and adipocyte size via inhibition of fatty acid synthase activity and its mRNA expression in visceral adipose tissue, along with enhanced enzymatic activity and gene expression involved in adipose fatty acid β-oxidation. Moreover, GC supplementation resulted in significant reductions in glucose intolerance and the plasma resistin level in the HFD-fed mice. However, we first demonstrated that it increased hepatic collagen accumulation, lipid peroxidation and mRNA levels of genes related to oxidative stress (superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase) and inflammatory responses (tumor necrosis factor-α and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1) as well as plasma alanine transaminase and aspartate transaminase levels, although HFD-induced hepatic steatosis was not altered.
