| 1 | Efficacy of ankaferd blood stopper application on nonvariceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding显示文摘AIM:To prospectively assess the hemostatic efficacy of the endoscopic topical use of ankaferd blood stopper(ABS) in active non-variceal upper gastrointestinal system(GIS) bleeding.METHODS:Endoscopy was performed on 220 patients under suspiciency of GIS bleeding.Patients with active non-variceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding(NVUGIB) with a spurting or oozing type were included.Firstly,8-10 cc of isotonic saline was sprayed to bleeding lesions.Then,8 cc of ABS was applied on lesions in which bleeding continued after isotonic saline application.The other endoscopic therapeutic methods were applied on the lesions in which the bleeding did not stop after ABS.RESULTS:Twenty-seven patients had an active NVUGIB with a spurting or oozing type and 193 patients were excluded from the study since they did not have non-variceal active bleeding.8 cc of ABS was sprayed on to the lesions of 26 patients whose bleeding continued after isotonic saline and in 19 of them,bleeding stopped after ABS.Other endoscopic treatment methods were applied to the remaining patients and the bleeding was stopped with these interventions in 6 of 7 patients.CONCLUSION:ABS is an effective method on NVUGIB,particularly on young patients with no coagulopathy.ABS may be considered as part of a combination treatment with other endoscopic methods. | Gokhan Gungor M Hakan Goktepe Murat Biyik Ilker Polat Tuncer Tuna Huseyin Ataseven Ali Demir | 2012 | World Journal of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy2012，4，12： | 5 |

| 3 | Lamivudine resistance mutations in patients infected with hepatitis B virus genotype D显示文摘AIM: To determine the distribution of viral genotypes for primary or acquired lamivudine resistance. METHODS: A total of 283 patients with chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection (245 patients with chronic hepatitis B and 38 inactive hepatitis B surface antigen carriers) were included in the study. The HBV geno-type was determined by using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction and sequence analysis, and tyrosine-methionine-aspartate-aspartate (YMDD) motif mutations were determined using the reverse transcriptase hybridization method. RESULTS: Lamivudine resistance was determined in a total of 25 (10.7%) chronic hepatitis B patients. Eight subjects (4%) had primary resistance to lamivudine, and 17 (53.1%) had secondary resistance to lamivudine. Genotype D, which was isolated from 267 of the patients with chronic HBV infection, was the dominant genotype in Turkey. | 7 | Performance of GPS slant total electron content and IRI-Plas-STEC for days with ionospheric disturbance显示文摘Total Electron Content(TEC) is an important observable parameter of the ionosphere which forms the main source of error for space based navigation and positioning systems.Since the deployment of Global Navigation Satellite Systems(GNSS),cost-effective estimation of TEC between the earth based receiver and Global Positioning System(GPS) satellites became the major means of investigation of local and regional disturbance for earthquake precursor and augmentation system studies.International Reference Ionosphere(IRI) extended to plasmasphere(IRI-Plas) is the most developed ionospheric and plasmaspheric climatic model that provides hourly,monthly median of electron density distribution globally.Recently,IONOLAB group(www.ionolab.org) has presented a new online space weather service that can compute slant TEC(STEC) on a desired ray path for a given date and time using IRI-Plas model(IRI-Plas-STEC).In this study,the performance of the model based STEC is compared with GPS-STEC computed according to the estimation method developed by the IONOLAB group and includes the receiver bias as IONOLAB-BIAS(IONOLAB-STEC).Using Symmetric Kullback-Leibler Distance(SKLD),Cross Correlation(CC) coefficient and the metric norm(L2N) to compare IRI-Plas-STEC and IONOLAB-STEC for the month of October 2011 over the Turkish National Permanent GPS Network(TNPGNActive),it has been observed that SKLD provides a good indicator of disturbance for both earthquakes and geomagnetic storms. | Feza Arikan Seymur Shukurov Hakan Tuna Orhan Arikan T.L.
