| 1 | Orange G degradation by heterogeneous peroxymonosulfate activation based on magnetic MnFe_(2)O_(4)/α-MnO_(2) hybrid显示文摘Wastewater containing an azo dye Orange G(OG)causes massive environmental pollution, thus it is critical to develop a highly effective,environmental-friendly,and reusable catalyst in peroxymonosulfate(PMS)activation for OG degradation. In this work,we successfully applied a magnetic MnFe_(2)O_(4)/α-MnO_(2) hybrid fabricated by a simple hydrothermal method for OG removal in water. The characteristics of the hybrid were investigated by Xray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy,energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,Brunauer–Emmett–Teller method, vibrating sample magnetometry, electron paramagnetic resonance, thermogravimetric analysis, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The effects of operational parameters(i.e.,catalytic system, catalytic dose, solution pH,and temperature)were investigated. The results exhibited that 96.8% of OG degradation was obtained with MnFe_(2)O_(4)/α-MnO2(1:9)/PMS system in 30 min regardless of solution pH changes.Furthermore, the possible reaction mechanism of the coupling system was proposed, and the degradation intermediates of OG were identified by mass spectroscopy. The radical quenching experiments and EPR tests demonstrated that SO_(4)•̶,O_(2)•̶,and 1O2 were the primary reactive oxygen species responsible for the OG degradation. The hybrid also displayed unusual stability with less than 30%loss in the OG removal after four sequential cycles.Overall, magnetic MnFe2O4/α-MnO2 hybrid could be used as a high potential activator of PMS to remove orange G and maybe other dyes from wastewater. | Le Thi Thao To Van Nguyen Van Quy Nguyen Ngoc Man Phan Ki Jae Kim Nguyen Nhat Huy Nguyen Trung Dung | 2023 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,2: | 3 |

| 4 | Combining Entropy Optimization and Sobel Operator for Medical Image Fusion显示文摘Fusing medical images is a topic of interest in processing medical images. This is achieved to through fusing information from multimodality images for the purpose of increasing the clinical diagnosis accuracy. This fusion aims to improve the image quality and preserve the specific features. The methods of medical image fusion generally use knowledge in many differentfields such as clinical medicine, computer vision, digital imaging, machine learning, pattern recognition to fuse different medical images. There are two main approaches in fusing image, including spatial domain approach and transform domain approachs. This paper proposes a new algorithm to fusion multimodal images. This algorithm is based on Entropy optimization and the Sobel operator.Wavelet transform is used to split the input images into components over the low and high frequency domains. Then, two fusion rules are used for obtaining the fusing images.Thefirst rule, based on the Sobel operator,is used for high frequency components. The second rule, based on Entropy optimization by using Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO)algorithm,is used for low frequency components.Proposed algorithm is implemented on the images related to central nervous system diseases. The experimental results of the paper show that the proposed algorithm is better than some recent methods in term of brightness level, the contrast, the entropy, the gradient and visual informationfidelity for fusion(VIFF),Feature Mutual Information(FMI)indices. | Nguyen Tu Trung Tran Thi Ngan Tran Manh Tuan To Huu Nguyen | 2023 | Computer Systems Science & Engineering2023,44,1: | 0 |
| 5 | The Effect of ENSO on Hydrological Structure and Environment in the South Central Coast-Vietnam显示文摘ENSO(El Niño-Southern Oscillation)phenomena have impacted on the hydrodynamic regime and environmental factors of the tropical ocean in general. In case of Vietnamese South-Central Waters, impacts of ENSO only focused on issues of changing seasonal wind, seawater temperature anomalies, changing of water masses as the air-sea interaction.Based on several data sets collecting in the period of 2003-2017,new finding of seawater temperature, salinity and environmental factors was identified in the water masses of Vietnamese South-Central Waters. The highest salinity was 35.4‰.During the El Nino event, increasing water temperature and salinity caused to move the deeper water masses to be closer to the sea surface than that initial depth in the neutral period.During the La Nina event, the temperature of most water masses reduced by 0.1-3.0℃,and then these water masses could be affected to the deeper layer.During the phase from strong ENSO event towards the neutral time, nutrient salts of the 4 water masses were lower concentration in the neutral year, causing the lack of phosphorus in sea surface water masses. | Pham Xuan Duong Hoang Trung Du Vo Tran Tuan Linh To Duy Thai Phan Minh Thu | 2020 | Journal of Marine Science2020,2,1: | 0 |
| 6 | A study implementing real-time PCR to identify Strongyloides species of third-stage larvae in human stool samples from Southern Vietnam显示文摘Background:Strongyloidiasis,a neglected disease caused by intestinal nematodes of the genus,is endemic to tropical and subtropical areas such as Vietnam.Morphological methods only identify the genus, while DNA-molecular techniques are susceptible in Strongyloides spp.detection.The study aims to determine the prevalence of dominant Strongyloides species among the population in Duc Hoa district,Long An,Vietnam. Methods:A cross-sectional study used 1190 stool specimens collected from July 2017 to November 2018.All samples were transported within 2 h,stored at 2-8℃,and processed within 48 h for microscopy smear and culture at the Laboratory of Medical Parasitology,Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine(PNT).Then all positive samples with the above 2 methods were verified by real-time PCR technique.Real-time PCR amplification was conducted at the Laboratory of Molecular Biology,PNT.Results:Direct microscopy and modified Harada-Mori culture detected Strongyloides spp.larvae in 79/1190 sam-ples(6.6%).About 94.2%of the DNA samples were Strongyloides stercoralis,2.9%were co-infections with Strongy-loides ratti and S.stercoralis, and 2.9%were patients with S.ratti.The identity of 12/14 sequences was confirmed as S.stercoralis with a high level of similarity(91.3%-100%)and over 98%for S.ratti.Conclusion:DNA-molecular techniques and sequence analysis are highly suitable for identifying Strongyloides species isolated from stool samples. It is remarkable evidence of the presence of zoonosis S.ratti disease in human, not just the known S.stercoralis.It is likely to result in a certain proportion of people being infected by this animal-borne infectious pathogen. | Le Duc Vinh Nguyen Kim Thach Huynh Hong Quang Do Nhu Binh Tran Thi Duc Hanh Nguyen Minh Toàn Nguyen Trung Tuyen Nguyen Thu Huong | 2023 | Infectious Medicine2023,2,3: | 0 |
