1Relocation of the mainshock and aftershock sequences of M_S7.0 Sichuan Lushan earthquake显示文摘The mainshock of April 20,2013 Sichuan Lushan MS7.0 earthquake was relocated using a 3-D velocity model.Double difference algorithm was applied to relocate aftershock sequences of Lushan earthquake.The locations of 2405 aftershocks were determined.The location errors in E-W,N-S and U-D direction were 0.30,0.29 and 0.59 km on average,respectively.The location of the mainshock is 102.983°E,30.291°N and the focal depth is 17.6 km.The relocation results show that the aftershocks spread approximately 35 km in length and 16 km in width.The dominant distribution of the focal depth ranges from 10 to 20 km.A few earthquakes occurred in the shallow crust.Focal depth profiles show fault planes dip to the northwest,manifested itself as a listric thrust fault.The dip angle is steep in the shallow crust and gentle in the deep crust.Although the epicenters of aftershocks distributed mainly along both sides of the Shuangshi-Dachuan fault,the seismogenic fault may be a blind thrust fault on the eastern side of the Shuangshi-Dachuan fault.Earthquake relocation results reveal that there is a southeastward tilt aftershock belt intersecting with the seismogenic fault with y-shape.We speculate it is a back thrust fault that often appears in a thrust fault system.Lushan earthquake triggered the seismic activity of the back thrust fault.FANG LiHua WU JianPing WANG WeiLai Lü ZuoYong WANG ChangZai YANG Ting CAI Yan 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,28:74

3Superior grains determined by grain weight are not fully correlated with the flowering order in rice显示文摘Rice panicles are composed of many branches with two types of extreme grains,the superior and the inferior.Traditionally,it has been well accepted that earlier flowers result in superior grains and late flowers generate inferior grains.However,these correlations have never been strictly examined in practice.In order to determine the accurate relationship between superior and inferior grains and the flowering order,we localized all the seeds in a panicle in four distinct rice species and systematically documented the rice flowering order,flower locations and the final grain weight for their relationships.Our results demonstrated that the grain weight is more heavily determined by the position of the seeds than by the flowering order.Despite earlier flowering has a positive correlation with the grain weight in general,grains from flowers blooming on the second day after anthesis generally gained the highest weight.This suggests earlier flowers may not result in superior grains.Therefore,we concluded that superior and inferior grains,commonly determined by grain weight,are not fully correlated with the flowering order in rice.Following the order of the grain weight,the superior grains are generally localized at the middle parts of the primary branches,whereas inferior grains were mainly on the last two secondary branches of the lower half part of the panicle.In addition,the weight of inferior grains were affected by spikelet thinning and spraying with exogenous plant growth regulators,indicating that physiological incompetence might be the major reason for the occurrence of the inferior grains.PENG Ting L Qiang ZHAO Ya-fan SUN Hong-zheng HAN Ying-chun DU Yan-xiu ZHANG Jing LI Jun-zhou WANG Lin-lin ZHAO Quan-zhi 2015Journal of Integrative Agriculture2015,14,5:7

5Development and characterization of an inducible Dicer conditional knockout mouse model of Parkinson’s disease:validation of the antiparkinsonian effects of a sigma-1 receptor agonist and dihydromyricetin显示文摘Parkinson’s disease(PD)is a common neurodegenerative disease characterized by motor impairment and progressive loss of dopamine(DA)neurons.At present,the acute application of neurotoxic drugs such as 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine(MPTP)and 6-hydroxydopamine(6-OHDA)are commonly used to simulate the pathology of PD;however,it is dif?cult to induce the progressive pathogenesis of PD with these models.In this study,we employed DAT promoter-mediated Cre transgenic mice to establish tamoxifen-inducible Dicer conditional knockout(cKO)mice in an effort to mimic the progressive loss of DA neurons and the development of PD-like behavioral phenotypes.The results showed that Dicer cKO mice exhibited progressive loss of DA neurons in the substantia nigra(SN)following tamoxifen administration.Signi?cant DA loss was observed 6 weeks after tamoxifen administration;accordingly,progressive motor function impairment was also observed.We also found that a signi?cant neuroin?ammatory response,as evidenced by microglial proliferation,another hallmark of PD pathogenesis,accompanied the loss of DA neurons.The acute application of levo-DOPA(L-DOPA)relieved the PD-like motor impairments in Dicer cKO mice to exert its antiparkinsonian action,indicating that the model can be used to evaluate the antiparkinsonian ef?cacy of PD drugs.To further elucidate the potential application of this novel PD animal model for PD drug development,we employed the powerful neuroprotective agent dihydromyricetin(DHM)(10 mg/kg)and the selective sigma-1 receptor agonist PRE-084(1 mg/kg),both of which were previously shown to produce antiparkinsonian effects.The results indicated that the chronic administration of either DHM or PRE-084 attenuated the Dicer cKO-induced loss of DA neurons and motor impairments,although the two drugs acted through different mechanisms.These data indicate that the Dicer cKO mouse model may be a useful model for investigating the pathological development of PD and intervention-mediated changes.In conclusion,this transgenic mouse model appears to simulate the progressive pathogenesis of PD and may be a potentially useful model for PD drug discovery.Chen-hong Guo Ting Cao Long-tai Zheng John L Waddington Xue-chu Zhen 2020Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2020,41,4:5

8Numerical Simulation of Enhanced Oil-Water Separation in a Three-Stage Double-Stirring Extraction Tank显示文摘Numerical simulation of enhanced fluid flow characteristics in a three-stage double-stirring extraction tank was conducted with the coupling of an Eulerian multiphase flow model and a Morsi-Alexander interphase drag force model. Results show that the addition of a stirring device into the settler can efficiently reduce the volume fraction of out-of-phase impurity in the outlet, and accelerate the settling separation of oil-water mixture. Such addition can also effectively break down the oil-water-wrapped liquid droplets coming from the mixer, inhibit reflux from the outlet, and improve the oil-water separation. 9Silicon saturation coefficient changes in hydrogarnets during the Bayer process with lime addition显示文摘The relationship between the silicon saturation coefficient of hydrogarnets and Bayer reaction parameters was studied. The peak position, crystal plane spacing, and cell edge length of typical hydrogarnet patterns were calculated to find the key factors influencing the relationship. The results showed that the crystal face(420) is the optimal garnet growth direction during hydration and crystal growth along the faces(521) and(611) were not affected significantly by the varying experimental conditions. The reaction temperature significantly influenced the silicon saturation coefficient of hydrogarnets. The silicon saturation coefficient of hydrogarnets increased from 0.2 to about 1.0 in the temperature range of 30–270 °C and a rapid expansion process was observed in the temperature range of 120–150 °C. Moreover, the reaction time, alumina concentration, and C/S were shown to be less important factors. Averaging the results obtained by the 3 methods was shown suitable for calculating the SiO2 saturation coefficient of hydrogarnets. The calculated results of the Al2O3 and SiO2 contents matched the actual ones.
