| 1 | Combining Ridge with No-Tillage in Lowland Rice-Based Cropping System: Long-Term Effect on Soil and Rice Yield显示文摘A tillage method of combining ridge with no-tillage (RNT) was employed in lowland rice-based cropping system to study the long-term effects of RNT on soil profile pattern, soil water stable aggregate distribution, nutrients stratification and yields of rice and post-rice crops. After flooded paddy field (FPF) was practiced with RNT for a long time, soil profile changed from G to A-P-G, and horizon G was shifted to a deeper position in the profile. Also the proportion of macroaggregate (> 2 mm) increased, whereas the proportion of silt and clay (< 0.053 mm) decreased under RNT, indicating a better soil structure that will prevent erosion. RNT helped to control leaching and significantly improved total N, P, K and organic matter in soil. The highest crop yields were found under RNT system every year, and total crop yields were higher under conventional paddy-upland rotation tillage (CR) than under FPF, except in 2003 and 2006 when serious drought occurred. | 3 | Closed-loop drip irrigation control using a hybrid wireless sensor and actuator network显示文摘In this research, a closed-loop drip irrigation control hybrid wireless sensor and actuator network (HWSAN) prototype were developed and deployed in a crop field for soil property precise measurement and precision irrigation in accordance with the measured soil property. The HWSAN was composed of a wireless sensor and actuator network (WSAN) used for in-field soil property monitoring and irrigation control and a laboratory supervising system. The WSAN included ten sensor nodes, five irrigation control nodes, a central node, a gateway and a cellular modem. The laboratory supervising system was formed by a web-server. The system could automatically sample soil properties including soil moisture, electrical conductivity, and nearsurface temperature at four different depths underground and transmit field data through cellular network to the web-server. Closed-loop control was achieved through the control nodes listening uploading packets from its paired sensor nodes to control drip irrigation. | 4 | Melatonin enhances radiofrequency-induced NK antitumor immunity,causing cancer metabolism reprogramming and inhibition of multiple pulmonary tumor development显示文摘Surgery is the comm on treatme nt for early lung cancer with multiple pulm onary no dules,but it is often accompanied by the problem of significant malignancy of other nodules in non-therapeutic areas.In this study,we found that a combined treatment of local rad iofreq ue ncy ablati on(RFA)and melatonin(MLT)greatly improved clinical outcomes for early lung cancer patie nts with multiple pulmonary nodules by minimizing lung function injury and reducing the probability of malignant transformation or enlargement of nodules in non-ablated areas.Mechanically,as demonstrated in an associated mouse lung tumor model,RFA not only effectively remove treated tumors but also stimulate antitumor immunity,which could inhibit tumor growth in non-ablated areas.MLT enhanced RFA-stimulated NK activity and exerted synergistic antitumor effects with RFA.Transcriptomics and proteomics analyses of residual tumor tissues revealed enhanced oxidative phosphorylation and reduced acidification as well as hypoxia in the tumor microenvironment,which suggests reprogrammed tumor metabolism after combined treatment with RFA and MLT.Analysis of residual tumor further revealed the depressed activity of MAPK,NF-kappa B,Wnt,and Hedgehog pathways and upregulated P53 pathway in tumors,which was in line with the inhibited tumor growth.Combined RFA and MLT treatment also reversed the Warburg effect and decreased tumor malignancy.These findings thus demonstrated that combined treatment of RFA and MLT effectively inhibited the malignancy of non-ablated nodules and provided an innovative non-invasive strategy for treating early lung tumors with multiple pulmonary nodules.Trial registration:www.chictr.org.cn,identifier ChiCTR2100042695,http://gffzz62a03ee25e6f4a77h5nxquxxv9w556kn6.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/showproj.aspx?proj=120931. | Ming Li Bingjie Hao Menghuan Zhang Russel J.Reiter Shumeng Lin Tiansheng Zheng Xiangyun Chen Yanbei Ren Liduo Yue Baigenzhin Abay Guojie Chen Xiao Xu Yufeng Shi Lihong Fan | 2021 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,10: | 6 |
| 5 | An expert consensus on the evaluation and treatment of acute thoracolumbar spine and spinal cord injury in China显示文摘This is an expert consensus on the evaluation and treatment of thoracolumbar spinal injury,established from February 2009 to July 2010.The expert consensus consists mainly of six parts with a total of 54 recommendations including the overview(one item);pre-hospital care(one item);evaluation and diagnosis(13 items);treatment(23 items);prevention and treatment of major complications(12 items);and rehabilitation(four items).This is the first time that Chinese experts have published a consensus on spine and spinal cord injury.The expert consensus was established based on Delphi methods,literature analysis,and clinical experiences.Each recommendation is supported by and was interpreted using multi-level evidences.The level of agreement with the recommendation among the panel members was assessed as either low,moderate,or strong.Each panel member was asked to indicate his or her level of agreement on a 5-point scale,with '1' corresponding to neutrality and '5' representing maximum agreement.Scores were aggregated across the panel members and an arithmetic mean was calculated.This mean score was then translated into low,moderate,or strong.After all of the votes were collected and calculated,the results showed no low-level recommendations,10 moderate-level recommendations,and 44 strong-level recommendations.An expert consensus was reached and was recognized by Chinese spine surgeons.Wide-scale adoption of these recommendations is urgent in the management of acute thoracolumbar spine and spinal cord injury in a broader attempt to create a standard evaluation and treatment strategy for acute thoracolumbar spine and spinal cord injury in China. | Zhicheng Zhang Fang Li Tiansheng Sun | 2013 | Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,33: | 6 |
| 6 | Effect of preparation methods on the structure and catalytic performance of Fe–Zn/K catalysts for CO2 hydrogenation to light olefins显示文摘Potassium promoted iron–zinc catalysts prepared by co-precipitation method(C–Fe–Zn/K),solvothermal method(S–Fe–Zn/K)and hydrothermal method(H–Fe–Zn/K)could selectively convert CO_2to light olefins,respectively.The physicochemical properties of the obtained catalysts were determined by SEM,N_2physisorption,XRD,H_2-TPR,CO_2-TPD and XPS measurements.The results demonstrated that preparation methods had great influences on the morphology,phase structures,reduction and adsorption behavior,and hence the catalytic performance of the catalysts.The samples prepared by hydrothermal and co-precipitation method generated small uniform particles and led to lower specific surface area.In contrast,microspheres with larger specific surface area were formed by self-assembly of nanosheets using solvothermal method.ZnFe_2O_4was the only detectable phase in the fresh C–2Fe–1Zn/K,S–3Fe–1Zn/K and S–2Fe–1Zn/K samples.ZnFe_2O_4and ZnO co-existed with increasing Zncontent in S–1Fe–1Zn/K sample,while ZnO and Fe_2O_3could be observed over H–2Fe–1Zn/K sample.All the used samples contained Fe_3O_4,ZnO and Fe_5C_2.The peak intensity of ZnO was strong in the AR-H–2Fe–1Zn/K sample while it was the lowest in the AR-C–2Fe–1Zn/K sample after reaction.The formation of ZnFe_2O_4increased the interaction between iron and zinc for C–2Fe–1Zn/K and S–Fe–Zn/K samples,causing easier reduction of Fe_2O_3to Fe_3O_4.The surface basicity of the sample prepared by co-precipitation method was much more than that of the other two methods.During CO_2hydrogenation,all the catalysts showed good activity and olefin selectivity.The CO selectivity was increased with increasing Zncontent over S–Fe–Zn/K samples.H–2Fe–1Zn/K catalyst preferred to the production of C_5^+hydrocarbons.CO_2conversion of 54.76%and C_2~=–C_4~=contents of 57.38%were obtained on C–2Fe–1Zn/K sample,respectively. | Xu Wang Jianli Zhang Jingyu Chen Qingxiang Ma Subing Fan Tiansheng Zhao | 2018 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2018,26,4: | 6 |
| 7 | Ecological risk assessment of Cd and other heavy metals in soil-rice system in the karst areas with high geochemical background of Guangxi,China显示文摘Karst areas are widely distributed in China,and the soil derived in these areas is enriched with trace elements and has the typical characteristics of high geochemical background.Therefore,soil ecological risk has gradually attracted extensive attention.In this study,1090 sets of rice grains and paired rhizosphere soils were collected as research objects from the outcropped karst areas of carbonate rocks in Guangxi,and the concentration characteristics and influencing factors of heavy metals,such as Cd and As,in rice grains and the corresponding soils were studied.According to the Chinese Soil Environmental Quality Standard(GB 15618-2018),the proportion of karstic soil samples in Guangxi with heavy metal(As,Cd,Cr,Cu,Hg,Ni,Pb and Zn)concentrations that exceed the standard risk screening values was generally greater than that of surface soils in China or non-karstic soils in Guangxi.Notably,Cd and As were the most prominently enriched heavy metals in soils.According to the Chinese Food Safety Standard(GB 2762-2017),Pb in rice grains from the studied area did not exceed the standard;the exceedance rates of Cr,Hg,and inorganic As were only about 1%;and the exceedance rate of Cd was 12.5%.Soil Cd concentration increased gradually whereas the concentration and exceedance rate of Cd in rice grains decreased gradually with the increase of soil pH.Specifically,the exceedance rate of Cd in rice grains was only 4%when soil pH>6.5.The results indicated that the risk screening values of Cd element in the Chinese Soil Environmental Quality Standard are not satisfactorily applicable to the ecological risk assessment of Cd in karstic soils.Therefore,the recommended threshold values for the safe utilization and risk control of Cd in karstic soils was proposed so as to provide a basis for soil environmental quality hierarchization,pollution risk control and land safety zoning of agricultural land in karst areas in China. | Qiong YANG Zhongfang YANG Qizuan ZHANG Xu LIU Xiaoxiong ZHUO Tiansheng WU Lei WANG Xueji WEI Junfeng JI | 2021 | Science China Earth Sciences2021,64,7: | 5 |

| 9 | Treadmill step training promotes spinal cord neural plasticity after incomplete spinal cord injury显示文摘A large body of evidence shows that spinal circuits are significantly affected by training,and that intrinsic circuits that drive locomotor tasks are located in lumbosacral spinal segments in rats with complete spinal cord transection.However,after incomplete lesions,the effect of treadmill training has been debated,which is likely because of the difficulty of separating spontaneous stepping from specific training-induced effects.In this study,rats with moderate spinal cord contusion were subjected to either step training on a treadmill or used in the model(control) group.The treadmill training began at day 7 post-injury and lasted 20 ± 10 minutes per day,5 days per week for 10 weeks.The speed of the treadmill was set to 3 m/min and was increased on a daily basis according to the tolerance of each rat.After 3 weeks of step training,the step training group exhibited a significantly greater improvement in the Basso,Beattie and Bresnahan score than the model group.The expression of growth-associated protein-43 in the spinal cord lesion site and the number of tyrosine hydroxylase-positive ventral neurons in the second lumbar spinal segment were greater in the step training group than in the model group at 11 weeks post-injury,while the levels of brain-derived neurotrophic factor protein in the spinal cord lesion site showed no difference between the two groups.These results suggest that treadmill training significantly improves functional recovery and neural plasticity after incomplete spinal cord injury. | Tiansheng Sun Chaoqun Ye Jun Wu Zhicheng Zhang Yanhua Cai Feng Yue | 2013 | Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,27: | 5 |
