1Assessing the relationship between the rumen microbiota and feed efficiency in Nellore steers显示文摘Background:Ruminants rely upon a complex community of microbes in their rumen to convert host-indigestible feed into nutrients.However,little is known about the association between the rumen microbiota and feed efficiency traits in Nellore(Bos indicus)cattle,a breed of major economic importance to the global beef market.Here,we compare the composition of the bacterial,archaeal and fungal communities in the rumen of Nellore steers with high and low feed efficiency(FE)phenotypes,as measured by residual feed intake(RFI).Results:The Firmicutes to Bacteroidetes ratio was significantly higher(P<0.05)in positive-RFI steers(p-RFI,low feed efficiency)than in negative-RFI(n-RFI,high feed efficiency)steers.The differences in bacterial composition from steers with high and low FE were mainly associated with members of the families Lachnospiraceae,Ruminococcaceae and Christensenellaceae,as well as the genus Prevotella.Archaeal community richness was lower(P<0.05)in p-RFI than in n-RFI steers and the genus Methanobrevibacter was either increased or exclusive of p-RFI steers.The fungal genus Buwchfawromyces was more abundant in the rumen solid fraction of n-RFI steers(P<0.05)and a highly abundant OTU belonging to the genus Piromyces was also increased in the rumen microbiota of highefficiency steers.However,analysis of rumen fermentation variables and functional predictions indicated similar metabolic outputs for the microbiota of distinct FE groups.Conclusions:Our results demonstrate that differences in the ruminal microbiota of high and low FE Nellore steers comprise specific taxa from the bacterial,archaeal and fungal communities.Biomarker OTUs belonging to the genus Piromyces were identified in animals showing high feed efficiency,whereas among archaea,Methanobrevibacter was associated with steers classified as p-RFI.The identification of specific RFI-associated microorganisms in Nellore steers could guide further studies targeting the isolation and functional characterization of rumen microbes potentially important for the energy-harvesting efficiency of ruminants.Déborah Romaskevis Gomes Lopes Márcio de Souza Duarte Alex J.La Reau Ibrahim Zuniga Chaves Tiago Antônio de Oliveira Mendes Edenio Detmann Cláudia Braga Pereira Bento Maria Eugênia Zerlotti Mercadante Sarah Figueiredo Martins Bonilha Garret Suen Hilário Cuquetto Mantovani 2021Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2021,12,4:3
2Al_2O_3负载Cu,Fe或Ni掺杂氧化钼催化乙苯氧化脱氢(英文)显示文摘Molybdenum-based catalysts supported on Al_2O_3 doped with Ni, Cu, or Fe oxide were synthesized and used in ethylbenzene dehydrogenation to produce styrene. The molybdenum oxide was supported using an unconventional route that combined the polymeric precursor method(Pechini) and wet impregnation on commercial alumina. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), N_2 adsorption-desorption isotherms, temperature-programmed reduction of H_2(H_2-TPR),and thermogravimetric(TG) analysis. XRD results showed that the added metals were well dispersed on the alumina support. The addition of the metal oxide(Ni, Cu, or Fe) of 2 wt% by wet impregnation did not affect the texture of the support. TPR results indicated a synergistic effect between the dopant and molybdenum oxide. The catalytic tests showed ethylbenzene conversion of 28%–53% and styrene selectivity of 94%–97%, indicating that the addition of the dopant improved the catalytic performance, which was related to the redox mechanism. Molybdenum oxides play a fundamental role in the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene to styrene by its redox and acid–base properties. The sample containing Cu showed an atypical result with increasing conversion during the reaction, which was due to metal reduction. 7Direct-acting antivirals for chronic hepatitis C treatment: The experience of two tertiary university centers in Brazil显示文摘BACKGROUND Hepatitis C virus(HCV)treatment has undergone major changes in recent years.Previous interferon-based therapies have been replaced by oral direct-acting antivirals(DAA)regimens,with high sustained virologic response(SVR)rates,and a lower incidence of adverse events(AEs).AIM To evaluate the efficacy and safety of DAAs for HCV treatment in subjects from two tertiary university centers in Brazil.METHODS This is a multicenter retrospective cohort study of 532 patients with chronic hepatitis C(CHC),undergoing treatment with interferon-free regimens from November 2015 to November 2019.The therapeutic regimen was defined by the current Brazilian guidelines for HCV management at the time of treatment.Demographic,anthropometric,clinical,and laboratory variables were evaluated.SVRs were assessed at 12 to 24 wk after therapy by intention-to-treat(ITT),and modified ITT(m-ITT)analysis.AEs and serious adverse events(SAEs)were registered.In the statistical analysis,a P value of<0.05 was considered significant.RESULTS The mean age was 56.88 years,with 415(78.5%)being HCV genotype 1,followed by genotype 3(20.1%).Moreover,306(57.5%)subjects had cirrhosis,and a third of them had decompensated cirrhosis.Sofosbuvir(SOF)plus daclatasvir±ribavirin was the most frequently used treatment(66.9%),followed by SOF plus simeprevir(21.2%).The overall ITT SVR was 92.6%(493/532),while the m-ITT SVR was 96.8%(493/509).Variables associated with treatment failure via ITT evaluation were hepatic encephalopathy(OR:4.320;95%CI:1.920-9.721,P=0.0004),presence of esophageal varices(OR:2.381;95%CI:1.137-4.988,P=0.0215),previous portal hypertensive bleeding(OR:2.756;95%CI:1.173-6.471,P=0.02),higher model for end-stage liver disease scores(OR:1.143,95%CI:1.060–1.233,P=0.0005),lower serum albumin levels(OR:0.528,95%CI:0.322-0.867,P=0.0115),higher serum creatinine(OR:1.117,95%CI:1.056-1.312,P=0.0033),and international normalized ratio(INR)levels(OR:5.542,95%CI:2.023-15.182,P=0.0009).AEs were reported in 41.1%(211/514)of patients,and SAEs in 3.7%.The female gender,higher body mass index,esophageal varices,higher INR values,and longer treatment duration were independently associated with AE occurrence.CONCLUSION Treatment with oral DAAs attains a high SVR rate,with fewer SAEs in a real-life cohort of subjects with CHC,from two tertiary university centers in Brazil.Mariana Sandoval Lourenço Patricia Momoyo Y Zitelli Marlone Cunha-Silva Arthur Ivan N Oliveira Cláudia P Oliveira Tiago Sevá-Pereira Flair JoséCarrilho Mario G Pessoa Daniel F Mazo 2022World Journal of Hepatology2022,14,1:1
8Synthesis and structure of a praseodymium (Ⅲ) complex with carboxylate ligand:A thermal and spectroscopic study显示文摘One Pr(Ⅲ) lanthanide ion complex was initially synthesized and characterized by TGA-DSC in air atmosphere, as well as characterized by CHN elemental analysis, defining the stoichiometric ratio as Pr(DMBz)_3. The gaseous products evolved during the thermal decomposition were also monitored in N_2 atmosphere employing TGA/FT-IR system. A crystal structure is obtained by state-of-the-art powder X-rays diffraction methods measured in conventional laboratory equipment and refined by the Rietveld method, which defined it as a monoclinic system of the space group P2_1/C with a polymeric crystal structure, [Pr(DMB_Z)_3]_n. FT-IR theoretical spectrum and time-dependent density functional theory(TD-DFT) were calculated from TGA-DSC and crystalline system data.
