| 6 | HyDeploy:The UK’s First Hydrogen Blending Deployment Project显示文摘The HyDeploy project is the UK’s first practical project to demonstrate that hydrogen can be safely blended into the natural-gas distribution system without requiring changes to appliances and the associated disruption.The project is funded under Ofgem’s Network Innovation Competition and is a collaboration between Cadent Gas,Northern Gas Networks,Progressive Energy Ltd,Keele University(Keele),Health&Safety Laboratory and ITM Power.Cadent and Northern Gas Networks are the Gas Distribution Network sponsors of the project.Keele University is the host site,providing the gas-distribution network,which will receive the hydrogen blend.Keele University is the largest campus university in the UK.Health&Safety Laboratory provides the scientific laboratories and experimental expertise.ITM Power provides the electrolyser that produces the hydrogen.Progressive Energy Ltd is the project developer and project manager.HyDeploy is structured into three distinct phases.The first is an extensive technical programme to establish the necessary detailed evidence base in support of an application to the Health&Safety Executive for Exemption to Schedule 3 of the Gas Safety(Management)Regulations(GS(M)R)to permit the injection of hydrogen at 20 mol%.This is required to allow hydrogen to be blended into a natural-gas supply above the current British limit of 0.1 mol%.The second phase comprises the construction of the electrolyser and grid entry unit,along with the necessary piping and valves,to allow hydrogen to be mixed and injected into the Keele University gas-distribution network and to ensure all necessary training of operatives is conducted before injection.The third phase is the trial itself,which is due to start in the summer of 2019 and last around 10 months.The trial phase also provides an opportunity to undertake further experimental activities related to the operational network to support the pathway to full deployment of blended gas.The outcome of HyDeploy is principally developing the initial evidence base that hydrogen can be blended into a UK operational natural-gas network without disruption to customers and without prejudicing the safety of end users.If deployed at scale,hydrogen blending at 20 mol%would unlock 29 TWh pa of decarbonized heat and provide a route map for deeper savings.The equivalent carbon savings of a national roll-out of a 20-mol%hydrogen blend would be to remove 2.5 million cars from the road.HyDeploy is a seminal UK project for the decarbonization of the gas grid via hydrogen deployment and will provide the first stepping stone for setting technical,operational and regulatory precedents of the hydrogen vector. | Tommy Isaac | 2019 | Clean Energy2019,3,2: | 10 |
| 7 | Prevention and management of hepatitis B virus reactivation in patients with hematological malignancies treated with anticancer therapy显示文摘Hepatitis due to hepatitis B virus(HBV) reactivation can be severe and potentially fatal, but is preventable. HBV reactivation is most commonly reported in patients receiving cancer chemotherapy, especially rituximabcontaining therapy for hematological malignancies and those receiving stem cell transplantation. All patients with hematological malignancies receiving anticancer therapy should be screened for active or resolved HBV infection by blood tests for hepatitis B surface antigen(HBs Ag) and antibody to hepatitis B core antigen(antiHBc). Patients found to be positive for HBs Ag should be given prophylactic antiviral therapy to prevent HBV reactivation. For patients with resolved HBV infection, no standard strategy has yet been established to prevent HBV reactivation. There are usually two options. One is pre-emptive therapy guided by serial HBV DNA monitoring, whereby antiviral therapy is given as soon as HBV DNA becomes detectable. However, there is little evidence regarding the optimal interval and period of monitoring. An alternative approach is prophylactic antiviral therapy, especially for patients receiving highrisk therapy such as rituximab, newer generation of anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody, obinutuzumab or hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. This strategy may effectively prevent HBV reactivation and avoid the inconvenience of repeated HBV DNA monitoring. Entecavir or tenofovir are preferred over lamivudine as prophylactic therapy. Although there is no well-defined guideline on the optimal duration of prophylactic therapy, there is growing evidence to recommend continuing prophylactic antiviral therapy for at least 12 mo after cessation of chemotherapy, and even longer for those who receive rituximab or who had high serum HBV DNA levels before the start of immunosuppressive therapy. Many novel agents have recently become available for the treatment of hematological malignancies, and these agents may be associated with HBV reactivation. Although there is currently limited evidence to guide the optimal preventive measures, we recommend antiviral prophylaxis in HBs Ag-positive patients receiving novel treatments, especially the Bruton tyrosine kinase inhibitors and the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase inhibitors, which are B-cell receptor signaling modulators and reduce proliferation of malignant B-cells. | 10 | Nitrite,a novel method to decrease ischemia/reperfusion injury in the rat liver显示文摘AIM:To investigate whether nitrite administered prior to ischemia/reperfusion(I/R)reduces liver injury.METHODS:Thirty-six male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomized to 3 groups,including sham operated(n=8),45-min segmental ischemia of the left liver lobe(IR,n=14)and ischemia/reperfusion(I/R)preceded by the administration of 480 nmol of nitrite(n=14).Serum transaminases were measured after 4 h of reperfusion.Liver microdialysate(MD)was sampled in 30-min intervals and analyzed for glucose,lactate,pyruvate and glycerol as well as the total nitrite and nitrate(NOx).The NOx was measured in serum.RESULTS:Aspartate aminotransferase(AST)at the end of reperfusion was higher in the IR group than in the nitrite group(40±6.8μkat/L vs 22±2.6μkat/L,P=0.022).Similarly,alanine aminotransferase(ALT)was also higher in the I/R group than in the nitrite group(34±6μkat vs 14±1.5μkat,P=0.0045).The NOx in MD was significantly higher in the nitrite group than in the I/R group(10.1±2.9μmol/L vs 3.2±0.9μmol/L,P=0.031)after the administration of nitrite.During ischemia,the levels decreased in both groups and then increased again during reperfusion.At the end of reperfusion,there was a tendency towards a higher NOx in the I/R group than in the nitrite group(11.6±0.7μmol/L vs 9.2±1.1μmol/L,P=0.067).Lactate in MD was significantly higher in the IR group than in the nitrite group(3.37±0.18 mmol/L vs 2.8±0.12 mmol/L,P=0.01)during ischemia and the first 30 min of reperfusion.During the same period,glycerol was also higher in the IRI group than in the nitrite group(464±38μmol/L vs 367±31μmol/L,P=0.049).With respect to histology,there were more signs of tissue damage in the I/R group than in the nitrite group,and29%of the animals in the I/R group exhibited necrosis compared with none in the nitrite group.Inducible nitric oxide synthase transcription increased between early ischemia(t=15)and the end of reperfusion in both groups.CONCLUSION:Nitrite administered before liver ischemia in the rat liver reduces anaerobic metabolism and cell necrosis,which could be important in the clinical setting. | Bergthor Bjrnsson Linda Bojmar Hans Olsson Tommy Sundqvist Per Sandstrm | 2015 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,6: | 8 |

Through the proposed power allocation game algorithm, the users' SINR can reach the Nash equilibrium, making it feasible to reduce the co-frequency interference by decreasing the transmitted power. | 15 | Resource pooling for frameless network architecture with adaptive resource allocation显示文摘The system capacity for future mobile communication needs to be increased to fulfill the emerging requirements of mobile services and innumerable applications. The cellular topology has for long been regarded as the most promising way to provide the required increase in capacity. However with the emerging densification of cell deployments, the traditional cellular structure limits the efficiency of the resource, and the coordination between different types of base stations is more complicated and entails heavy cost. Consequently, this study proposes frameless network architecture (FNA) to release the cell boundaries, enabling the topology needed to implement the FNA resource allocation strategy. This strategy is based on resource pooling incorporating a new resource dimension-antenna/antenna array. Within this architecture, an adaptive resource allocation method based on genetic algorithm is proposed to find the optimal solution for the multi-dimensional resource allocation problem. Maximum throughput and proportional fair resource allocation criteria are considered. | 16 | Conventional, but not remote ischemic preconditioning, reduces iNOS transcription in liver ischemia/reperfusion显示文摘AIM:To study the effects of preconditioning on inducible nitric oxide synthase(iNOS)and interleukin 1(IL-1)receptor transcription in rat liver ischemia/reperfusion injury(IRI).METHODS:Seventy-two male rats were randomized into 3 groups:the one-hour segmental ischemia(IRI,n=24)group,the ischemic preconditioning(IPC,n=24)group or the remote ischemic preconditioning(RIPC,n=24)group.The IPC and R-IPC were performed as 10 min of ischemia and 10 min of reperfusion.The iNOS and the IL-1 receptor mRNA in the liver tissue was analyzed with real time PCR.The total Nitrite and Nitrate(NOx)in continuously sampled microdialysate(MD)from the liver was analyzed.In addition,the NOx levels in the serum were analyzed.RESULTS:After 4 h of reperfusion,the iNOS mRNA was significantly higher in the R-IPC(ΔCt:3.44±0.57)group than in the IPC(ΔCt:5.86±0.82)group(P=0.025).The IL-1 receptor transcription activity was reduced in the IPC group(ΔCt:1.88±0.53 to 4.81±0.21),but not in the R-IPC group,during reperfusion(P=0.027).In the MD,a significant drop in the NOx levels was noted in the R-IPC group(12.3±2.2 to 4.7±1.2μmol/L)at the end of ischemia compared with the levels in early ischemia(P=0.008).A similar trend was observed in the IPC group(11.8±2.1 to 6.4±1.5μmol/L),although this difference was not statistically significant.The levels of NOx rose quickly during reperfusion in both groups.CONCLUSION:IPC,but not R-IPC,reduces iNOS and IL-1 receptor transcription during early reperfusion,indicating a lower inflammatory reaction.NOx is consumed in the ischemic liver lobe. | Bergthor Bjornsson Anders Winbladh Linda Bojmar Tommy Sundqvist Per Gullstrand Per Sandstrom | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,28: | 5 |

Though accumulation of hepatic fat is not associated with a significant increase in mortality rates, hepatic inflammation is, as this augments the risk of terminal liver disease, i.e.,cirrhosis, hepatic decompensation(liver failure) and/or hepatocellular carcinoma. In most cases, NAFLD overlaps with overweight, obesity,cardiovascular disease and the metabolic syndrome with numerous contributing parameters including a dysregulation of adipose tissue, insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, changes in the gut microbiome, neuronal and hormonal dysregulation and metabolic stress. NAFLD is diagnosed incidentally, despite its high prevalence. Non-invasive imaging techniques have emerged, making it possible to determine degree of steatosis as well asfibrosis. Despite this,the benefit of routine diagnostics remains uncertain. A better understanding of the(molecular) pathogenesis of NAFLD is needed combined with long-term studies where benefits of treatment can be assessed to determine costbenefit ratios. | 18 | Utility-based bandwidth allocation algorithm for heterogeneous wireless networks显示文摘In next generation wireless network (NGWN), mobile users are capable of connecting to the core network through various heterogeneous wireless access networks, such as cellular network, wireless metropolitan area network (WMAN), wireless local area network (WLAN), and ad hoc network. NGWN is expected to provide high-bandwidth connectivity with guaranteed quality-of-service to mobile users in a seamless manner; however, this desired function demands seamless coordination of the heterogeneous radio access network (RAN) technologies. In recent years, some researches have been conducted to design radio resource management (RRM) architectures and algorithms for NGWN; however, few studies stress the problem of joint network performance optimization, which is an essential goal for a cooperative service providing scenario. Furthermore, while some authors consider the competition among the service providers, the QoS requirements of users and the resource competition within access networks are not fully considered. In this paper, we present an interworking integrated network architecture, which is responsible for monitoring the status information of different radio access technologies (RATs) and executing the resource allocation algorithm. Within this architecture, the problem of joint bandwidth allocation for heterogeneous integrated networks is formulated based on utility function theory and bankruptcy game theory. The proposed bandwidth allocation scheme comprises two successive stages, i.e., service bandwidth allocation and user bandwidth allocation. At the service bandwidth allocation stage, the optimal amount of bandwidth for different types of services in each network is allocated based on the criterion of joint utility maximization. At the user bandwidth allocation stage, the service bandwidth in each network is optimally allocated among users in the network according to bankruptcy game theory. | 20 | Intelligent modelling of clay compressibility using hybrid meta-heuristic and machine learning algorithms显示文摘Compression index Ccis an essential parameter in geotechnical design for which the effectiveness of correlation is still a challenge.This paper suggests a novel modelling approach using machine learning(ML)technique.The performance of five commonly used machine learning(ML)algorithms,i.e.back-propagation neural network(BPNN),extreme learning machine(ELM),support vector machine(SVM),random forest(RF)and evolutionary polynomial regression(EPR)in predicting Cc is comprehensively investigated.A database with a total number of 311 datasets including three input variables,i.e.initial void ratio e0,liquid limit water content wL,plasticity index Ip,and one output variable Cc is first established.Genetic algorithm(GA)is used to optimize the hyper-parameters in five ML algorithms,and the average prediction error for the 10-fold cross-validation(CV)sets is set as thefitness function in the GA for enhancing the robustness of ML models.The results indicate that ML models outperform empirical prediction formulations with lower prediction error.RF yields the lowest error followed by BPNN,ELM,EPR and SVM.If the ranges of input variables in the database are large enough,BPNN and RF models are recommended to predict Cc.Furthermore,if the distribution of input variables is continuous,RF model is the best one.Otherwise,EPR model is recommended if the ranges of input variables are small.The predicted correlations between input and output variables using five ML models show great agreement with the physical explanation. | Pin Zhang Zhen-Yu Yin Yin-Fu Jin Tommy HTChan Fu-Ping Gao | 2021 | Geoscience Frontiers2021,12,1: | 3 |
