1Comparative analysis between endometrial proteomes of pregnant and non-pregnant ewes during the peri-implantation period显示文摘Background:Early pregnancy failure has a profound impact on both human reproductive health and animal production.2/3 pregnancy failures occur during the peri-implantation period;however,the underlying mechanism(s)remains unclear.Well-organized modification of the endometrium to a receptive state is critical to establish pregnancy.Aberrant endometrial modification during implantation is thought to be largely responsible for early pregnancy loss.Result:In this study,using well-managed recipient ewes that received embryo transfer as model,we compared the endometrial proteome between pregnant and non-pregnant ewes during implantation period.After embryo transfer,recipients were assigned as pregnant or non-pregnant ewes according to the presence or absence of an elongated conceptus at Day 17 of pregnancy.By comparing the endometrial proteomic profiles between pregnant and non-pregnant ewes,we identified 94 and 257 differentially expressed proteins(DEPs) in the endometrial caruncular and intercaruncular areas,respectively.Functional analysis showed that the DEPs were mainly associated with immune response,nutrient transport and utilization,as well as proteasome-mediated proteolysis.Conclusion:These analysis imply that dysfunction of these biological processes or pathways of DEP in the endometrium is highly associated with early pregnancy loss.In addition,many proteins that are essential for the establishment of pregnancy showed dysregulation in the endometrium of non-pregnant ewes.These proteins,as potential candidates,may contribute to early pregnancy loss.Haichao Zhao Linlin Sui Kai Miao Lei An Dong Wang Zhuocheng Hou Rui Wang Min Guo Zhilong Wang Jiqiang Xu Zhonghong Wu Jianhui Tian 2015Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2015,6,3:8
2NPRC deletion mitigated atherosclerosis by inhibiting oxidative stress, inflammation and apoptosis in ApoE knockout mice显示文摘Previous studies suggested a beneficial effect of natriuretic peptides in animal models of cardiovascular disease,but the role of natriuretic peptide receptor C(NPRC)in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis(AS)remains unknown.This study was designed to test the hypothesis that NPRC may promote AS lesion formation and instability by enhancing oxidative stress,inflammation,and apoptosis via protein kinase A(PKA)signaling.ApoE^(−/−)mice were fed chow or Western diet for 12 weeks and NPRC expression was significantly increased in the aortic tissues of Western diet-fed mice.Systemic NPRC knockout mice were crossed with ApoE^(−/−)mice to generate ApoE^(−/−)NPRC^(−/−)mice,and NPRC deletion resulted in a significant decrease in the size and instability of aortic atherosclerotic lesions in ApoE^(−/−)NPRC^(−/−)versus ApoE^(−/−)mice.In addition,endothelial cell-specific NPRC knockout attenuated atherosclerotic lesions in mice.In contrast,endothelial cell overexpression of NPRC aggravated the size and instability of atherosclerotic aortic lesions in mice.Experiments in vitro showed that NPRC knockdown in human aortic endothelial cells(HAECs)inhibited ROS production,pro-inflammatory cytokine expression and endothelial cell apoptosis,and increased eNOS expression.Furthermore,NPRC knockdown in HAECs suppressed macrophage migration,cytokine expression,and phagocytosis via its effects on endothelial cells.On the contrary,NPRC overexpression in endothelial cells resulted in opposite effects.Mechanistically,the anti-inflammation and anti-atherosclerosis effects of NPRC deletion involved activation of cAMP/PKA pathway,leading to downstream upregulated AKT1 pathway and downregulated NF-κB pathway.In conclusion,NPRC deletion reduced the size and instability of atherosclerotic lesions in ApoE^(−/−)mice via attenuating inflammation and endothelial cell apoptosis and increasing eNOS expression by modulating cAMP/PKA-AKT1 and NF-κB pathways.Thus,targeting NPRC may provide a promising approach to the prevention and treatment of atherosclerosis.Cheng Cheng Jie Zhang Xiaodong Li Fei Xue Lei Cao Linlin Meng Wenhai Sui Meng Zhang Yuxia Zhao Bo Xi Xiao Yu Feng Xu Jianmin Yang Yun Zhang Cheng Zhang 2023Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,9:0
3A straight-forward seed production technology system for foxtail millet(Setaria italica)显示文摘For autogamous crops, a precondition for using heterosis is to produce sufficient pure male-sterile female parents that can be used to produce hybrid seeds. To date, cytoplasmic male sterility(CMS)and environment-sensitive genic male sterility(EGMS) have been used commercially to exploit heterosis for autogamous species. However, neither CMS nor EGMS has been established for foxtail millet(Setaria italica). Here, we report on the establishment and application of a seed production technology(SPT) system for this crop.First, we established a Ds Red-based SPT system,but found that it was unsuitable because it required the use of a fluorescent device for seed sorting. Instead, we constructed an SPT system with de novo betalain biosynthesis as the selection marker. This allowed us to distinguish transgenic seeds with the naked eye, thereby facilitating the identification of SPT maintainer line seeds. In this system, a seed sorter was not required to obtain sufficient seeds. The key point of the strategy is that the seed pool of the SPT maintainer line is propagated by artificial identification and harvesting of male-fertile individuals in the field, and the male-sterile line seed pool for hybrid production is produced and propagated by free pollination of male-sterile plants with the SPT maintainer line. In a field experiment, we obtained 423.96 kg male-sterile line seeds per acre,which is sufficient to plant 700.18 acres of farmland for hybrid seed production or male-sterile line reproduction. 5Hydrophobic and Magnetic Reduced Graphene Oxide Nanocomposite for Emulsified Oil Removal显示文摘Magnetic reduced graphene oxide(MRGO) nanocomposite was prepared by the chemical coprecipitation method and applied as adsorbent for removing emulsified oil from oily wastewater. SEM, TEM, XRD, FT-IR, VSM and other analytical methods were utilized to characterize the prepared MRGO. The adsorption performance of MRGO was evaluated under different initial adsorbate concentration, MRGO dosage, temperature, and pH value of the solution. The adsorption kinetics and isotherms were investigated. In addition, the MRGO repeatability was also tested. It was found that almost 65%of emulsified oil were removed by MRGO in the first 15 min. The MRGO adsorption capacity and efficiency for removal of adsorbate reached 335.85 mg/g and 92.52% within 60 min, respectively. The adsorption capacity reduced with an increasing MRGO dosage, while increased with the increase of emulsified oil concentration. The adsorption performance of MRGO in the alkaline environment was lower than that in the acidic environment. The adsorption data could well fit to the pseudosecondorder model. The Langmuir model could well describe the isotherm data. 6Fabrication of three dimensional SiC@C hybrid for efficient direct dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene to styrene显示文摘Synthesis of hybrid carbon materials with core-shell structure and robust catalytic performance is of great research interest,and remains a great challenge in catalytic dehydrogenation of hydrocarbons reaction.In this paper,few-layer sp^(2) carbon decorated SiC nanocrystals with core-shell structure(SiC@C)were fabricated through a dual-confined magnesiothermic method by employing glucose and SiO_(2) as precursors.The SiC@C nanocrystals were further crosslinked to be a three dimensional(3D)mesoporous hybrid by the in situ generated carbon as binders and exhibiting a 410.30 m^(2) g^(−1) large surface area.The as-prepared SiC@C hybrid materials as metal-free catalysts were evaluated in the steam-free direct dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene to styrene.Benefiting from the abundant surface carbonyl groups on the graphite carbon layers,the optimized yield rate of styrene normalized by carbon mass was as high as 11.58 mmol g^(−1) carbon h^(−1),nearly 4 times that of nanodiamonds.Considering the low cost and excellent catalytic activity,the hybrid 3D SiC@C material may be a promising candidate for direct dehydrogenation of hydrocarbons.Jiashun Wang Linlin Wang Jiangyong Diao Xi Xie Guoming Lin Qing Jia Hongyang Liu Guoxin Sui 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,8:0
