1Effects of resveratrol in experimental and clinical non-alcoholic fatty liver disease显示文摘The prevalence of obesity and related conditions like non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) is increasing worldwide and therapeutic options are limited.Alternative treatment options are therefore intensively sought after.An interesting candidate is the natural polyphenol resveratrol(RSV) that activates adenosinmonophosphate-activated protein kinase(AMPK) and silent information regulation-2 homolog 1(SIRT1).In addition,RSV has known anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory effects.Here,we review the current evidence for RSVmediated effects on NAFLD and address the different aspects of NAFLD and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH) pathogenesis with respect to free fatty acid(FFA) flux from adipose tissue,hepatic de novo lipogenesis,inadequate FFA β-oxidation and additional intra- and extrahepatic inflammatory and oxidant hits.We review the in vivo evidence from animal studies and clinical trials.The abundance of animal studies reports a decrease in hepatic triglyceride accumulation,liver weight and a general improvement in histological fatty liver changes,along with a reduction in circulating insulin,glucose and lipid levels.Some studies document AMPK or SIRT1 activation,and modulation of relevant markers of hepatic lipogenesis,inflammation and oxidation status.However,AMPK/SIRT1-independent actions are also likely.Clinical trials are scarce and have primarily been performed with a focus on overweight/obese participants without a focus on NAFLD/NASH and histological liver changes.Future clinical studies with appropriate design are needed to clarify the true impact of RSV treatment in NAFLD/NASH patients.Sara Heebll Karen Louise Thomsen Steen B Pedersen Hendrik Vilstrup Jacob George Henning Grnbk 2014World Journal of Hepatology2014,6,4:11
2EVALUATION OF ADDED RESISTANCE OF KVLCC2 IN SHORT WAVES显示文摘The added resistance of KVLCC2 in short and regular head waves has been studied theoretically and experimentally. Model tests are performed to determine how well the asymptotic formula (Faltinsen et al. 1980) predicts the typical level of added resistance in short waves. Because the asymptotic formula neglects the effects of ship motions, it is combined with theoretical methods to calculate the added resistance in long waves using an function to predict the added resistance in the intermediate wavelength region where both ship motions and wave reflection are important. A unique feature of this experiment is that the ship model is divided into three segments to explore the added resistance distribution with respect to hull segment. This paper discusses the sensitivity of experimental results to the quality of the incident regular head waves. Moreover, a novel procedure for analyzing added resistance is described. Finally, the experimentally determined added resistance of KVLCC2 is compared with theoretical results. It is shown that the added resistance from the combined theoretical methods agrees well with experimental results in both the intermediate and short wave regions. 3乳猪深低温停循环不同流量选择性脑灌注微透析实验研究显示文摘目的运用微透析分析技术观察乳猪深低温停循环不同流量选择性脑灌注(antegrade selective cerebral perfusion,ASCP)中神经细胞间液各种物质变化情况。方法 20只健康幼猪麻醉成功后植入微透析针,随机分为对照组5只与实验组15只,对照组为单纯深低温停循环(DHCA组),实验组按不同ASCP流量分为3组各5只,ASCP30组灌注流量为30mL/(kg·min),ASCP50组灌注流量为50mL/(kg·min),ASCP80组灌注流量为80mL/(kg·min)。各组于体外循环前(T1)、降温40min时(T2)、深低温停循环时(T3)、复温40min时(T4)、体外循环后60min时(T5)、体外循环后120min时(T6)6个时间点采集微透析样本,检测氨基酸和能量代谢物质水平,观察变化趋势,评估不同ASCP流量的脑保护效果。结果 DHCA组T3、T4时间点、丙酮酸高于实验组,葡萄糖低于实验组(P<0.05),T3、T4、T5、T6时间点乳酸高于实验组(P均<0.05),T4时间点乳酸/丙酮酸比值、乳酸/葡萄糖比值、甘油高于实验组(P均<0.05);ASCP80组T2~T6时间点乳酸、丙酮酸、甘油、谷氨酸高于ASCP30组和ASCP50组,但差异无统计学意义(P均>0.05)。结论乳猪深低温停循环+ASCP模型深低温体外循环模型中,ASCP维持在较低流量(30~50mL/(kg·min))可起到脑保护作用。朱耀斌 李志强 范祥明 刘东海 张伟华 廖秋明 Steen Stig 李刚 刘扬 续玉林 张晶 乔晨晖 2014中华实用诊断与治疗杂志2014,28,3:9
4The importance of aboveground and belowground interspecific interactions in determining crop growth and advantages of peanut/maize intercropping显示文摘Intercropping of maize(Zea mays L.) and peanut(Arachis hypogaea L.) often results in greater yields than the respective sole crops. However, there is limited knowledge of aboveground and belowground interspecific interactions between maize and peanut in field. A two-year field experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of interspecific interactions on plant growth and grain yield for a peanut/maize intercropping system under different nitrogen(N) and phosphorus(P) levels. The method of root separation was employed to differentiate belowground from aboveground interspecific interactions. We observed that the global interspecific interaction effect on the shoot biomass of the intercropping system decreased with the coexistence period, and belowground interaction contributed more than aboveground interaction to advantages of the intercropping in terms of shoot biomass and grain yield. There was a positive effect from aboveground and belowground interspecific interactions on crop plant growth in the intercropping system, except that aboveground interaction had a negative effect on peanut during the late coexistence period. The advantage of intercropping on grain came mainly from increased maize yield(means 95%) due to aboveground interspecific competition for light and belowground interaction(61%–72% vs. 28%–39% in fertilizer treatments). There was a negative effect on grain yield from aboveground interaction for peanut, but belowground interspecific interaction positively affected peanut grain yield.The supply of N, P, or N + P increased grain yield of intercropped maize and the contribution from aboveground interspecific interaction. Our study suggests that the advantages of peanut/maize intercropping for yield mainly comes from aboveground interspecific competition for maize and belowground interspecific facilitation for peanut, and their respective yield can be enhanced by N and P. 5Use of models in large-area forest surveys: comparing model-assisted, model-based and hybrid estimation显示文摘This paper focuses on the use of models for increasing the precision of estimators in large-area forest surveys.It is motivated by the increasing availability of remotely sensed data,which facilitates the development of models predicting the variables of interest in forest surveys.We present,review and compare three different estimation frameworks where models play a core role:model-assisted,model-based,and hybrid estimation.The first two are well known,whereas the third has only recently been introduced in forest surveys.Hybrid inference mixes designbased and model-based inference,since it relies on a probability sample of auxiliary data and a model predicting the target variable from the auxiliary data.We review studies on large-area forest surveys based on model-assisted,modelbased,and hybrid estimation,and discuss advantages and disadvantages of the approaches.We conclude that no general recommendations can be made about whether model-assisted,model-based,or hybrid estimation should be preferred.The choice depends on the objective of the survey and the possibilities to acquire appropriate field and remotely sensed data.We also conclude that modelling approaches can only be successfully applied for estimating target variables such as growing stock volume or biomass,which are adequately related to commonly available remotely sensed data,and thus purely field based surveys remain important for several important forest parameters.Goran Stahl Svetlana Saarela Sebastian Schnell Soren Holm Johannes Breidenbach Sean P. 7Genetic algorithms for computational materials discovery accelerated by machine learning显示文摘Materials discovery is increasingly being impelled by machine learning methods that rely on pre-existing datasets.Where datasets are lacking,unbiased data generation can be achieved with genetic algorithms.Here a machine learning model is trained on-the-fly as a computationally inexpensive energy predictor before analyzing how to augment convergence in genetic algorithm-based approaches by using the model as a surrogate.This leads to a machine learning accelerated genetic algorithm combining robust qualities of the genetic algorithm with rapid machine learning.The approach is used to search for stable,compositionally variant,geometrically similar nanoparticle alloys to illustrate its capability for accelerated materials discovery,e.g.,nanoalloy catalysts.The machine learning accelerated approach,in this case,yields a 50-fold reduction in the number of required energy calculations compared to a traditional“brute force”genetic algorithm.This makes searching through the space of all homotops and compositions of a binary alloy particle in a given structure feasible,using density functional theory calculations.Paul C.Jennings Steen Lysgaard Jens Strabo Hummelshøj Tejs Vegge Thomas Bligaard 2019npj Computational Materials2019,,1:5
8低温HP100XD保存液对离体猪冠状动脉内皮依赖性舒张反应的影响显示文摘目的:评价新型保存液HP100XD对猪离体冠状动脉内皮的保护作用。方法:健康瑞典家猪7头,取出冠状动脉前降支远端血管,外径1.0~1.5mm,并截成1mm长的血管环。将所取的血管环随机分配到以下3组,每组7段。新鲜对照组,将血管环直接置入器官浴槽内行内皮依赖性舒张反应(EDR)测定;24h保存组和48h保存组,分别将血管环保存于4℃的HP100XD溶液中24h和48h,再行EDR测定。血栓烷A2受体激动剂U-46619和罂粟碱分别用来诱导平滑肌的收缩和舒张。通过蓄积方式在器官浴槽内加入浓度递增的P物质(10^-15~10^-7mol/L)测定血管EDR。结果:与新鲜对照组最大舒张反应值(97.6±0.3)%比较,24h保存组血管环的(95.6±0.7)%无变化(P〉0.05),48h保存组则下降为(87.2±3.8)%(P〈0.05)。与新鲜对照组的50%最大舒张时P物质的浓度对数(pEC50)(9.93±0.17)比较,24h保存组的pEC50(9.64±0.05)无变化(P〉0.05),48h保存组则下降为(9.54±0.04)(P〈0.05)。结论:在4℃条件下,HP100XD溶液可以有效地保存离体猪冠状动脉内皮功能达24h.是一种较好的心脏保存溶液。张伟华 乔晨晖 廖秋明 Steen Stig 2006郑州大学学报(医学版)2006,41,1:4

11低温停搏液灌注压力对猪冠状动脉内皮及平滑肌功能的影响显示文摘目的 探讨心脏停搏液灌注压力高低对猪冠状动脉血管平滑肌功能及内皮依赖性舒张反应的影响。方法 用改良的St.Thomas’hospital液分别在40、60、80mmHg的灌注压下灌注猪冠状动脉后,取2cm长的猪冠状动脉前降支(left anterior descending branch,LAD)远端血管,外径1.0—1.5mm,截成1mm长的血管环。将所取血管环直接置入器官浴槽内测定内皮及平滑肌功能。通过蓄积方式加入浓度增递的P物质测定血管内皮依赖性舒张(endothelium dependent relaxation,EDR)功能。结果 在本实验灌注压力下,冠状动脉平滑肌的舒缩功能均不受影响(P>0.05)。与新鲜对照组血管[(98.0±1.2)%]相比,40mmHg和60mmHg组冠状动脉的最大EDR值无显著下降[分别为(96.7±1.5)%、(96.6±1.9)%、(P>0.05)],80mmHg组血管的最大EDR值则显著降低[(90.8±2.2)%,(P<0.01)]。在血管内皮对P物质的敏感性(用50%最大舒张时的浓度值表示,pEC50)方面,与新鲜对照组对比,40mmHg组血管环pEC50值无显著降低(P>0.05),60mmHg组和80mmHg组血管环的pEC50值则显著降低(P<0.05)、(P<0.01)。结论 用改良的St.Thomas’hospital溶液灌注猪心时,60mmHg的压力即可以造成冠状动脉内皮功能的损害,而且灌注压力越高,损伤越重。张新 乔晨晖 张伟华 廖秋明 Steen Stig 2006第三军医大学学报2006,28,20:4
12Gelatin degradation assay reveals MMP-9 inhibitors and function of O-glycosylated domain显示文摘AIM: To establish a novel, sensitive and high-throughput gelatinolytic assay to define new inhibitors and compare domain deletion mutants of gelatinase B/matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-9. METHODS: Fluorogenic Dye-quenched (DQ)TM-gelatin was used as a substrate and biochemical parameters (substrate and enzyme concentrations, DMSO solvent concentrations) were optimized to establish a highthroughput assay system. Various small-sized libraries (ChemDiv, InterBioScreen and ChemBridge) of hetero-cyclic, drug-like substances were tested and compared with prototypic inhibitors. RESULTS: First, we designed a test system with gelatin as a natural substrate. Second, the assay was validated by selecting a novel pyrimidine-2,4,6-trione (barbitu- rate) inhibitor. Third, and in line with present structural data on collagenolysis, it was found that deletion of the O-glycosylated region significantly decreased gelatinolytic activity (kcat/kM ± 40% less than full-length MMP-9). CONCLUSION: The DQTM-gelatin assay is useful in high-throughput drug screening and exosite targeting. 13远隔缺血后处理对猪心肌急性缺血/再灌注损伤的保护作用显示文摘目的:探讨下肢远隔缺血后处理对猪心肌急性缺血/再灌注损伤的保护作用。方法:将10头猪随机分为对照组(C组)和处理组(R组)2组,每组5头。2组都接受冠状动脉左前降支闭塞30min然后再灌注6h的处理。R组在冠状动脉开始再灌注的同时对双侧股动脉实施4次缺血5min再灌注5min的远隔缺血后处理。实验过程中,连续监测猪的心率(fH)、平均动脉压(MAP)、心输出量(CO)、冠状动脉左前降支血流(LADF)和心电图(对室性心律失常进行评分)。分别在缺血开始前后和再灌注后3和6h获取血浆标本,用于检测肌钙蛋白(cTnT)。利用cTnT总释放量曲线下面积量化评估心肌梗死面积。结果:2组间的血流动力学指标比较差异均无统计学意义(FfH=1.777,P=0.219;FMAP=1.118,P=0.321;FLADF=0.838,P=0.387;FCO=0.320,P=0.587);2组间缺血期和再灌注期室性心律失常评分差值比较,差异无统计学意义(t=0.548,P=0.599)。与C组相比R组的心肌梗死面积减少29.5%;R组血浆cTnT水平较C组下降(F组间=6.213,F组间=173.657,F交互=5.900,P均<0.05)。结论:下肢远隔缺血后处理是一种简单、安全和有效地减轻心肌缺血/再灌注损伤的方法。宋书波 张伟华 乔晨晖 廖秋明 Stig Steen 2011郑州大学学报(医学版)2011,46,3:3
14干旱气候区的可持续发展:地中海地区显示文摘本文以地中海地区为例,讨论了在干旱气候条件下实现可持续发展目标的主要困难。土壤肥力的耗竭与耕地的盐碱化,对早期文化的衰落起着重要影响。可持续性包括了食物的可靠供给,其生物量生产力应大于当前水平的2~3倍。古老的技术不能实现这一目标,只有采用一些新的技术,包括在比原来的、局地性的社会更大尺度上进行物质循环,才能实现这一目标。新技术重点应是地下水与地表水的有效利用,并应促使植物营养物质的有效利用。那种基于当地资源的低水平上可持续的生物量生产系统的不切实际的想法,应当被包括新技术和新知识在内的现代发展模式所取代。Eliel Steen 闵庆文 1999AMBIO-人类环境杂志1999,28,4:3
15Favorable lifestyle before diagnosis associated with lower risk of screen-detected advanced colorectal neoplasia显示文摘AIM: To investigate the association between adherence to health recommendations and detection of advanced colorectal neoplasia(ACN) in colorectal cancer(CRC) screening.METHODS: A total of 14832 women and men were invited to CRC screening, 6959 in the fecal immunochemical test arm and 7873 in the flexible sigmoidoscopy arm. These were also sent a self-reported lifestyle questionnaire to be completed prior to their first CRC screening. A lifestyle score was created to reflect current adherence to healthy behaviors in regard to smoking, body mass index, physical activity, alcohol consumption and food consumption, and ranged from zero(poorest) to six(best). Odds ratios(ORs) and 95%CIs were calculated using multivariable logistic regression to evaluate the association between the single lifestyle variables and the lifestyle score and the probability of detecting ACN.RESULTS: In all 6315 women and men completed the lifestyle questionnaire, 3323(53%) in the FIT arm and 2992(47%) in the FS arm. This was 89% of those who participated in screening. ACN was diagnosed in 311(5%) participants of which 25(8%) were diagnosed with CRC. For individuals with a lifestyle score of two, three, four, and five-six, the ORs(95%CI) for the probability of ACN detection were 0.82(0.45-1.16), 0.43(0.28-0.73), 0.41(0.23-0.64), and 0.41(0.22-0.73), respectively compared to individuals with a lifestyle score of zero-one. Of the single lifestyle factors, adherence to non-smoking and moderate alcohol intake were associated with a decreased probability of ACN detection compared to being a smoker or having a high alcohol intake 0.53(0.42-0.68) and 0.63(0.43-0.93) respectively.CONCLUSION: Adopted healthy behaviors were inversely associated with the probability of ACN detection. 16Review on modelling of corrosion under droplet electrolyte for predicting atmospheric corrosion rate显示文摘Atmospheric corrosion of metals is the most common type of corrosion which has a significant impact on the environment and operational safety in various situations of everyday life.Some of the common examples can be observed in land,water and air transportation systems,electronic circuit boards,urban and offshore infrastructures.The dew drops formed on metal surface due to condensation of atmospheric moisture facilitates corrosion as an electrolyte.The corrosion mechanisms under these droplets are different from classically known bulk electrolyte corrosion.Due to thin and non-uniform geometric thickness of the droplet electrolyte,the atmospheric oxygen requires a shorter diffusion path to reach the metal surface.The corrosion under a droplet is driven by the depletion of oxygen in the center of the droplet compared to the edge,known as differential aeration.In case of a larger droplet,differential aeration leads to preferential cathodic activity at the edge and is controlled by the droplet geometry.Whereas,for a smaller droplet,the oxygen concentration remains uniform and hence cathodic activity is not controlled by droplet geometry.The geometry of condensed droplets varies dynamically with changing environmental parameters,influencing corrosion mechanisms as the droplets evolve in size.In this review,various modelling approaches used to simulate the corrosion under droplet electrolytes are presented.In the efforts of developing a comprehensive model to estimate corrosion rates,it has been noted from this review that the influence of geometric evolution of the droplet due to condensation/evaporation processes on corrosion mechanisms are yet to be modelled.Dynamically varying external factors like environmental temperature,relative humidity,presence of hygroscopic salts and pollutants influence the evolution of droplet electrolyte,making it a complex phenomenon to investigate.Therefore,an overview of available dropwise condensation and evaporation models which describes the formation and the evolution of droplet geometry are also presented from an atmo s pheric corrosion viewpoint.Bangalore Gangadharacharya Koushik Nils Van den Steen Mesfin Haile Mamme Yves Van Ingelgem Herman Terryn 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,3:3
