1Weakening relationship between East Asian winter monsoon and ENSO after mid-1970s显示文摘The East Asian winter monsoon(EAWM) is characterized by the frequent cold surges and associated closely with the Siberia High,East Asian Trough,and high-level westerly jet stream.The ENSO cycle can modulate the EAWM since it has co-variability with the sea surface temperature over the Indo-Western-Pacific which can tune the land-sea thermal contrast for the EAWM.This paper,by analyzing the EAWM,ENSO,and associated atmosphere-ocean variability,documents the weakening of the EAWMENSO relationship after the 1970s.The significant out-of-phase inter-relationship is found to be diminished after the 1970s.Further study in this work suggests that the weakened co-variability of the tropical Indo-Western-Pacific climate associated with ENSO after the 1970s is partly responsible for the weakened inter-relationship.Meanwhile,the reduced EAWM interannual variability and northward retreat of the EAWM-associated climate variability are favorable to the weakened ENSO-EAWM connection.WANG HuiJun HE ShengPing 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,27:39
2Arctic Sea Ice and Eurasian Climate:A Review显示文摘The Arctic plays a fundamental role in the climate system and has shown significant climate change in recent decades,including the Arctic warming and decline of Arctic sea-ice extent and thickness. In contrast to the Arctic warming and reduction of Arctic sea ice, Europe, East Asia and North America have experienced anomalously cold conditions, with record snowfall during recent years. In this paper, we review current understanding of the sea-ice impacts on the Eurasian climate.Paleo, observational and modelling studies are covered to summarize several major themes, including: the variability of Arctic sea ice and its controls; the likely causes and apparent impacts of the Arctic sea-ice decline during the satellite era,as well as past and projected future impacts and trends; the links and feedback mechanisms between the Arctic sea ice and the Arctic Oscillation/North Atlantic Oscillation, the recent Eurasian cooling, winter atmospheric circulation, summer precipitation in East Asia, spring snowfall over Eurasia, East Asian winter monsoon, and midlatitude extreme weather; and the remote climate response(e.g., atmospheric circulation, air temperature) to changes in Arctic sea ice. 3Reduction of the East Asian winter monsoon interannual variability after the mid-1980s and possible cause显示文摘The East Asian winter monsoon (EAWM) consists of subsystems such as the Siberian high, Aleutian low, East Asian trough, low-level northerly wind and high-level East Asian jet stream. It is revealed that the interannual variation of the EAWM-related atmospheric circulation has exhibited an obvious weakening since the mid-1980s. During 1956-1980, significant negative correlations between the EAWM and sea surface temperature are observed in the oceans along the east coast of East Asia, accompanied by significant positive correlations in the western Warm Pool. However, the significant interannual relationship in the previous period is found to have been disrupted during 1986-2010. Further analysis reveals that the Arctic Oscillation after the mid-1980s tends to suppress the interannual variability of the EAWM. In addition, it was found that the large-scale warming after the mid-1980s is favorable to reduce the land-sea thermal contrast variability on both the interdecadal and interannual time scales.HE ShengPing 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,12:12
4Variational principles and governing equations in nano-dielectrics with the flexoelectric effect显示文摘The flexoelectric effect is very strong and coupled with large strain gradients for nanoscale dielectrics. At the nanoscale, the electrostatic force cannot be ignored. In this paper, we have established the electric enthalpy variational principle for nanosized dielectrics with the strain gradient and the polarization gradient effect, as well as the effect of the electrostatic force. The complete governing equations, which include the effect of the electrostatic force, are derived from this variational principle, and based on the principle the generalized electrostatic stress is obtained, the generalized electrostatic stress contains the Maxwell stress corresponding to the polarization and strain, and stress related to the polarization gradient and strain gradient. 5The increase of snowfall in Northeast China after the mid-1980s显示文摘We studied long-term variation of winter snowfall in Northeast China (NEC) for 1951-2010. Results show that NEC snowfall increased about 20% during 1986-2010 relative to 1951-1985. Further investigation suggests that the snowfall increase is closely associated with weakening of the East Asian winter monsoon (EAWM). The physical processes were portrayed by this research. Weakening of EAWM led to weakened cold air flow from the north, thus resulted in the warming of the surface ocean along the Northeast Asia coast and more water vapor evaporated from the ocean surface to the atmosphere and further transported to NEC. Also, because of EAWM weakening, more water vapor from south, east and west of NEC was transported to NEC, increasing water vapor content and hence snowfall there. 6High Cr white cast iron/carbon steel bimetal liner by lost foam casting with liquid-liquid composite process显示文摘Liners in wet ball mill for mineral processing industry must bear abrasive wear and corrosive wear, and consequently,the service life of the liner made from traditional materials,such as Hadfield steel and alloyed steels,is typically less than ten months.Bimetal liner,made from high Cr white cast iron and carbon steel,has been successfully developed by using liquid-liquid composite lost foam casting process.The microstructure and interface of the composite were analyzed using optical microscope,SEM,EDX and XRD.Micrographs indicate that the boundary of bimetal combination regions is staggered like dogtooth,two liquid metals are not mixed,and the interface presents excellent metallurgical bonding state.After heat treatment,the composite liner specimens have shown excellent properties,including hardness>61 HRC,fracture toughnessα k >16.5 J·cm-2 and bending strength >1,600 MPa.Wear comparison was made between the bimetal composite liner and alloyed steel liner in an industrial hematite ball mill of WISCO,and the results of eight-month test in wet grinding environment have proved that the service life of the bimetal composite liner is three times as long as that of the alloyed steel liner.Xiao Xiaofeng Ye Shengping YinWeixin Zhou Xiaoguang Xue Qiong 2012China Foundry2012,9,2:10
7Impacts of the Autumn Arctic Sea Ice on the Intraseasonal Reversal of the Winter Siberian High显示文摘During 1979–2015, the intensity of the Siberian high(SH) in November and December–January(DJ) is frequently shown to have an out-of-phase relationship, which is accompanied by opposite surface air temperature and circulation anomalies.Further analyses indicate that the autumn Arctic sea ice is important for the phase reversal of the SH. There is a significantly positive(negative) correlation between the November(DJ) SH and the September sea ice area(SIA) anomalies. It is suggested that the reduction of autumn SIA induces anomalous upward surface turbulent heat flux(SHF), which can persist into November, especially over the Barents Sea. Consequently, the enhanced eddy energy and wave activity flux are transported to mid and high latitudes. This will then benefit the development of the storm track in northeastern Europe. Conversely, when downward SHF anomalies prevail in DJ, the decreased heat flux and suppressed eddy energy hinder the growth of the storm track during DJ over the Barents Sea and Europe. Through the eddy–mean flow interaction, the strengthened(weakened)storm track activities induce decreased(increased) Ural blockings and accelerated(decelerated) westerlies, which makes the cold air from the Arctic inhibited(transported) over the Siberian area. Therefore, a weaker(stronger) SH in November(DJ) occurs downstream. Moreover, anomalously large snowfall may intensify the SH in DJ rather than in November. The ensemble-mean results from the CMIP5 historical simulations further confirm these connections. 8Teleconnection between Sea Ice in the Barents Sea in June and the Silk Road,Pacific–Japan and East Asian Rainfall Patterns in August显示文摘In contrast to previous studies that have tended to focus on the influence of the total Arctic sea-ice cover on the East Asian summer tripole rainfall pattern, the present study identifies the Barents Sea as the key region where the June sea-ice variability exerts the most significant impacts on the East Asian August tripole rainfall pattern, and explores the teleconnection mechanisms involved. The results reveal that a reduction in June sea ice excites anomalous upward air motion due to strong near-surface thermal forcing, which further triggers a meridional overturning wave-like pattern extending to midlatitudes.Anomalous downward motion therefore forms over the Caspian Sea, which in turn induces zonally oriented overturning circulation along the subtropical jet stream, exhibiting the east–west Rossby wave train known as the Silk Road pattern. It is suggested that the Bonin high, a subtropical anticyclone predominant near South Korea, shows a significant anomaly due to the eastward extension of the Silk Road pattern to East Asia. As a possible descending branch of the Hadley cell, the Bonin high anomaly ultimately triggers a meridional overturning, establishing the Pacific–Japan pattern. This in turn induces an anomalous anticyclone and cyclone pair over East Asia, and a tripole vertical convection anomaly meridionally oriented over East Asia. Consequently, a tripole rainfall anomaly pattern is observed over East Asia. 10Effect of quercetin-containing preservatives and modified atmospheric packaging on the production of biogenic amines in Pacific white shrimp(Litopenaeus vannamei)显示文摘To investigate the productions of biogenic amines(BAs)in Pacific white shrimp treated by compound preservatives(P,0.05 g/L quercetin,0.025 g/L 4-hexylresorcinol,and 0.025 g/L cinnamic acid)in combination with modified atmosphere packaging(M,80% CO_(2)/10% O_(2)/10% N_(2)),four groups of samples treated with or without preservatives and alone or in combination with modified atmosphere packaging(A,A+P,M,M+P)during storage at 4℃for 12 days were analyzed.Most BAs increased in all samples,especially,putrescine and cadaverine.MAP inhibited the increase of most BAs(except for tyramine)and psychrotrophic bacterial counts.The inhibitory effect of the compound preservatives on bacterial growth and BAs was limited in aerobically-and MAP-stored samples,but they retarded the production of tyramine,which accumulated more rapidly in MAP.Lowest total BAs and bacterial counts were found in sample M+P(78.3 mg/kg and 5.82 log cfu/g,day 12),indicating that the combined treatment of the preservatives and MAP could reduce the risk of disorders caused by BAs.Yunfang Qian Shengping Yang Jing-xin Ye Jing Xie 2018Aquaculture and Fisheries2018,3,6:7

12Application of biological dural graft made by meninges from porkers显示文摘BACKGROUND: Presently, over 40 kinds of dural grafts have been successively used in clinic. Among them, lyophilized human dura mater with good histocompatibility and less complications is applied most widely. But there are a few reports on cases of infected spongiform encephalopathy following application of lyodura. More ideal repair materials deserve to be further investigated. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the efficiency and safety of biological dural graft made by meninges from porkers to repair meningeal injury. DESIGN: A self-control observation. SETTING: Wuhan General Hospital of Guangzhou Military Area Command of Chinese PLA. MATERIALS: Sixteen New Zealand Rabbits, of either gender, weighing from 2 to 3 kg, of clean grade Ⅱ, with the age of 0.5–1 year, were involved in this experiment. The involved rabbits were provided by the Animal Experimental Center of the First Military Medical University of Chinese PLA. Biological surgical patch (dural graft) was developed by Guangdong Guanhao Biotechnological Co.,Ltd. It was processed by using meninges from porkers by tissue engineering technology. METHODS: This experiment was carried out in the Experimental Center of the 157 Hospital of Chinese PLA between December 2003 and June 2004. ① The experimental rabbits were anesthetized. Dura mater was exposed from two sides of postmedial line of coronal suture. A rectangular dura mater about 8 mm×8 mm in size was cut off. Then a biological surgical patch (dural graft) was sheared into insert with 8 mm diameter and sutured. The left dura mater was untouched and used as control. Scalp was sutured, and postoperative wound healing and recovery were observed. ②The anesthetized rabbits were sacrificed at postoperative 3, 14, 30 and 90 days, 4 rabbits once. The whole head was cut off, and its scalp was removed. Afterwards, the head was fixed by formalin. Tissues in operative site were obtained, performed routine paraffin embedding, sliced and conducted HE staining, finally, the sections were observed. White blood cells in venous blood were counted before operation and execution, separately. The obtained data were statistically analyzed. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ① Wound healing and recovery following implantation of dural graft. ②The amount of white blood cells in venous blood from rabbits at each time point before operation and before execution. ③ Histological examination results of operative site. RESULTS: Sixteen experimental rabbits were involved in the final analysis. ① The experimental rabbits of each group had no local infection, effusion and abnormal appearance. They had good wound healing and were normal to access to food. ② There were no significant differences in amount of white blood cells in venous blood from experimental rabbits between at each time point after modeling and before operation (P > 0.05). ③Pathological observation of operative site : At postoperative 3 days, local acute inflammation repair reaction appeared; At postoperative 2 weeks, chronic inflammatory reaction appeared, endodermis in artificial dural graft formed, and artificial dural graft and host dura mater healed; In postoperative 1 month, wound began to chronically recover; In postoperative 3 months, host blood capillary began to form in artificial dural graft based on chronic repair. In all the control sides, fibroplasia was found, and a few neutrophils were found at postoperative 2 weeks. CONCLUSION: Biological surgical patch has high stability and good histocompatibility. 13RuCl_3 anchored onto post-synthetic modification MIL-101(Cr)-NH_2 as heterogeneous catalyst for hydrogenation of CO_2 to formic acid显示文摘A series of efficient ruthenium chloride (RuCl_3)-anchored MOF catalysts,such as RuCl_3@MIL-101 (Cr)-Sal,and RuCl_3@MIL-101 (Cr)-DPPB, have been successfully synthesized by post-synthetic modification (PSM)of the terminal amino of MIL-101(Cr)-NH_2 with salicylaldehyde, 2-diphenylphosphinobenzaldehyde (DPPBde) and anchoring of Ru (Ⅲ) ions. The stronger coordination electron donor interaction between Ru (Ⅲ) ions and chelating groups in the RuCl_3@MIL-101 (Cr)-DPPB enhances its catalytic performance for CO_2 hydrogenation to formic acid. 14Interface tuning of Cu+/CuO by zirconia for dimethyl oxalate hydrogenation to ethylene glycol over Cu/SiO2 catalyst显示文摘An efficient ZrO2-doped Cu/SiO2 catalyst was fabricated through hydrolysis precipitation method(HP)and used to produce ethylene glycol(EG)through dimethyl oxalate(DMO)hydrogenation.The states for zirconia on copper catalyst and roles in DMO hydrogenation were investigated through various characterization tools,including N2 physical adsorption,XRD,H2-TPR,Methyl glycolate-TPD-MS,XPS,XAES as well.Compared with common ammonia evaporation and co-precipitation methods used in catalyst preparation,this HP method is found to effectively suppress the agglomeration and further size growth of copper nanoparticles by enhancing the interactions between copper and zirconia species.More importantly,uniform distribution of ZrO2 dopant is achieved due to the pseudo-homogeneous reactions in the mixing step of catalyst preparation.A proper amount of zirconium dopant helps achieve the desirable proportion of Cu+/(Cu++CuO)for surface copper species,especially promotes the production of Cu+species originated from Cu-ZrO2 species at the interface of copper and zirconia particles.In comparison with Cu+species formed from copper phyllosilicates reduction,the Cu+sites derived from Cu-ZrO2 species show higher adsorption ability of MG,an important intermediate species in ethylene glycol production.These adsorbed MG molecules further react with atomic hydrogen shifted from adjacent metallic copper surface,leading to a higher catalytic behavior.For the EG production via DMO hydrogenation,the turnover frequency(TOF)normalized by CuO species on CuZr/SiO2 catalyst is 1.8 times than that of traditional Cu/SiO2 counterpart.Due to the enhanced synergy effect between Cu+and Cuo active sites,a lower activation energy of ester hydrogenation on this ZrO2-doped Cu/SiO2 catalyst is believed to be responsible for the significant improvement.Yujun Zhao Huanhuan Zhang Yuxi Xu Shengnian Wang Yan Xu Shengping Wang Xinbin Ma 2020Journal of Energy Chemistry2020,29,10:5

18ZnO-based micromotors fueled by CO_(2):the first example of self-reorientation-induced biomimetic chemotaxis显示文摘Synthetic chemotactic micro/nanomotors are envisioned to actively‘seek out’targets by following specific chemicals,but they are mainly powered by bioincompatible fuels and only show pseudochemotaxis(or advanced chemokinesis)due to their weak self-reorientation capabilities.Here we demonstrate that synthetic ZnO-based Janus micromotors can be powered by the alternative biocompatible fuel of C0_(2);and further provide the first example of self-reorientation-induced biomimetic chemotaxis using them.The ZnO-based micromotors are highly sensitive to dissolved C0_(2) in water,which enables the corrosion of ZnO to continuously occur by providing H+through hydration.Thus,they can autonomously move even in water exposed to air based on self-diffusiophoresis.Furthermore,they can sense the local C0_(2) gradient and perform positive chemotaxis by self-reorientations under the phoretic torque.Our discovery opens a gate to developing intelligent micro/nanomotors powered by,and sensitive to,biocompatible atmospheric or endogenous gaseous chemicals for biomedical and environmental applications.Fangzhi Mou Qi Xie Jianfeng Liu Shengping Che Lamya Bahmane Ming You Jianguo Guan 2021National Science Review2021,8,11:3
19Feasibility analysis of the angular momentum reversal trajectory via hodograph method for high performance solar sails显示文摘In this paper a new phase space of hodograph method is adopted to investigate and better understand the two-dimensional angular momentum reversal(H-reversal) trajectories for high performance solar sails within a fixed cone angle.As the hodograph method and the H-reversal trajectory are not very common,both of them are briefly introduced.The relationship between them are constructed and addressed with a sample trajectory.How the phase space varies according to the sail quality and the fixed sail cone angle is also studied.Through variation of the phase space,the minimum sail lightness number can be obtained by solving a set of algebraic equations instead of a parameter optimization problem.For a given sail lightness number,there are three types of the two-dimensional possible heliocentric motion,including the spiral inward trajectories towards the Sun,the H-reversal trajectories and the directly outward escape trajectories.The boundaries that separate these different groups are easily determined by using the phase space.Finally,the method and procedures to achieve the feasible region of the H-reversal trajectory with required perihelion distance are presented in detail.ZENG XiangYuan BAOYIN HeXi LI JunFeng GONG ShengPing 2011Science China(Technological Sciences)2011,54,11:3
20Distribution of soil aggregates and organic carbon in deep soil under long-term conservation tillage with residual retention in dryland显示文摘To ascertain the effects of long-term conservation tillage and residue retention on soil organic carbon(SOC) content and aggregate distribution in a deep soil(>20-cm depth) in a dryland environment,this paper analyzed the SOC and aggregate distribution in soil, and the aggregate-associated organic carbon(OC) and SOC physical fractions. Conservation tillage(reduced tillage with residue incorporated(RT) and no-tillage with residue mulch(NT)) significantly increased SOC sequestration and soil aggregation in deep soil compared with conventional tillage with residue removal(CT). Compared with CT, RT significantly increased the proportion of small macroaggregates by 23%–81% in the 10–80 cm layer, and the OC content in small macroaggregates by 1%–58% in the 0–80 cm layer. RT significantly increased(by 24%–90%) the OC content in mineral-SOC within small macroaggregates in the 0–60 cm layer, while there was a 23%–80% increase in the 0–40 cm layer with NT. These results indicated that:(1) conservation tillage treatments are beneficial for soil aggregation and SOC sequestration in a deep soil in a dryland environment; and(2)the SOC in mineral-associated OC plays important roles in soil aggregation and SOC sequestration.
