1Is transformational leadership always good for employee task performance?Examining curvilinear and moderated relationships显示文摘Transformational leadership,generally considered as a desirable leadership style,has positive effects on various performance outcomes of employees;however,its productivity has been called into question because of a relative neglect of its negative aspects.Addressing this gap,an attempt at rethinking the relationship between transformational leadership and employee performance is important.The paradoxical perspective indicates that conflicting positive and negative effects of transformational leadership can coexist,which provides possibility and rationality for thorough consideration of employees'task performance influenced by transformational leaders.Integrating the principle of diminishing marginal utility and the'Too-Much-of-a-Good-Thing(TMGF)'effect,this research explores an inverted U-shaped relationship between transformational leadership and employee task performance.Furthermore,applying social cognitive theory,we assume an employee's proactive personality moderates the curvilinear influence of transformational leadership on employees'task performance.As expected,results from a study of data from 209 supervisorsubordinate relationships from China showed that the inverted U-shaped relationship between transformational leadership and employees'task performance was moderated by employees'proactive personality.Theoretical and practical implications are discussed.Yashuo Chen Ranran Ning Tong Yang Shangjun Feng Chunjiang Yang 2018Frontiers of Business Research in China2018,12,4:2
2Inhibitory effect of parvovirus H-1 on the formation of colonies of human hepatoma cell line in vitro and its tumors in nude mice显示文摘The inhibitory effect of parvovirus H-1 on the colonyforming ability in vitro of QGY-7703, a cultured human hepatoma cell line, and on the formation and growth of its tumors in nude mice was studied. With higher multiplicity of infection (MOI) of H-1 given, survival of the QGY-7703 cells was found to be decreased. H-1 DNA amplification level at 30 h postinfection(p.i.) was detected to be 7.4 times higher than that at 2 h by dispersed cells assay, while the cells were delayed to enter into S phase.Plaques were formed in the indicator cells (new-born human kidney cell line, NBK) by progeny H-1 virus particles released from the infected QGY-7703 cells by infectious cell center assay. The formation of tumors in nude mice by QGY-7703 cells which were injected s c at 2 h postinfection was observed to be prevented in 2 groups with given MOI 25 and 50. The tumor growth of MOI 10 group occurred at a lower exponential rate than that of control,after a 20 d latent period. 4Ultrasound-assisted co-precipitation synthesis of mesoporous Co_(3)O_(4)–CeO_(2)composite oxides for highly selective catalytic oxidation of cyclohexane显示文摘The one-step highly selective oxidation of cyclohexane into cyclohexanone and cyclohexanol as the essential intermediates of nylon-6 and nylon-66 is considerably challenging.Therefore,an efficient and low-cost catalyst must be urgently developed to improve the efficiency of this process.In this study,a Co_(3)O_(4)–CeO2 composite oxide catalyst was successfully prepared through ultrasound-assisted co-precipitation.This catalyst exhibited a higher selectivity to KA-oil,which was benefited from the synergistic effects between Co^(3+))/Co^(2+))and Ce^(4+)/Ce^(3+)redox pairs,than bulk CeO2 and/or Co_(3)O_(4).Under the optimum reaction conditions,89.6%selectivity to KA-oil with a cyclohexane conversion of 5.8%was achieved over Co_(3)O_(4)–CeO2.Its catalytic performance remained unchanged after five runs.Using the synergistic effects between the redox pairs of different transition metals,this study provides a feasible strategy to design high-performance catalysts for the selective oxidation of alkanes.Shangjun Fu Kuiyi You Zhenpan Chen Taobo Liu Qiong Wang Fangfang Zhao Qiuhong Ai Pingle Liu He’an Luo 2022Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2022,16,8:1

6Unleash electron transfer in C–H functionalization by mesoporous carbon-supported palladium interstitial catalysts显示文摘The functionalization of otherwise unreactive C–H bonds adds a new dimension to synthetic chemistry,yielding useful molecules for a range of applications.Arylation has emerged as an increasingly viable strategy for functionalization of heteroarenes which constitute an important class of structural moieties for organic materials.However,direct bisarylation of heteroarenes to enable aryl-heteroaryl-aryl bond formation remains a formidable challenge,due to the strong coordination between heteroatom of N or S and transitional metals.Here we report Pd interstitial nanocatalysts supported on ordered mesoporous carbon as catalysts for a direct and highly efficient bisarylation method for five-membered heteroarenes that allows for green and mild reaction conditions.Notably,in the absence of any base,ligands and phase transfer agents,high activity(turn-over frequency,TOF,up to 107 h-1)and selectivity(>99%)for the 2,5-bisarylation of five-membered heteroarenes are achieved in water.A combination of characterization reveals that the remarkable catalytic reactivity here is attributable to the parallel adsorption of heteroarene over Pd clusters,which breaks the barrier to electron transfer in traditional homogenous catalysis and creates dual electrophilic sites for aryl radicals and adsorbate at C2 and C5 positions.The d-band filling at Pd sites shows a linear relationship with activation entropy and catalytic activity.The ordered mesopores facilitate the absence of a mass transfer effect.These findings suggest alternative synthesis pathways for the design,synthesis and understanding of a large number of organic chemicals by ordered mesoporous carbon supported palladium catalysts.Xiaorui Zhao Yueqiang Cao Linlin Duan Ruoou Yang Zheng Jiang Chao Tian Shangjun Chen Xuezhi Duan De Chen Ying Wan 2021National Science Review2021,8,4:0
7The self-assembly of gold nanoparticles in large-pore ordered mesoporous carbons显示文摘Simple encapsulation of 3 nm gold nanoparticles in ordered mesoporous carbon with large pores of 17 nm and thick pore walls of 16 nm was achieved by a metal–ligand coordination assisted-selfassembly approach.Polystyrene-block-polyethylene-oxide(PS-b-PEO)diblock copolymer with a large molecular weight of the PS chain and mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane were used as the template and the metal ligand,respectively.Small-angle X-ray scattering,X-ray diffraction,transmission electron microscopy,and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy showed that monodispersed aggregation-free gold nanoparticles approximately 3 nm in size were partially embedded in the large open pore structure of the ordered mesoporous carbon.The strong coordination between the gold species and the mercapto groups and the thick porous walls increased the dispersion of the gold nanoparticles and essentially inhibited particle aggregation at 600℃.The gold nanoparticles in the ordered mesoporous carbon are active and stable in the reduction of nitroarenes involving bulky molecules using sodium borohydride as a reducing agent under ambient conditions(30℃)in water.The large interconnected pore structure facilitates the mass transfer of bulky molecules.Chun Pei Shangjun Chen Rongrong Song Fei Lv Ying Wan 2022Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,35,1:0
8Simulation of the Production Performances of Horizontal Wells with a Fractured Shale Gas Reservoir显示文摘The production performances of a well with a shale gas reservoir displaying a complex fracture network are simulated.In particular,a micro-seismic cloud diagram is used to describe the fracture network,and accordingly,a production model is introduced based on a multi-scale flow mechanism.A finite volume method is then exploited for the integration of the model equations.The effects of apparent permeability,conductivity,Langmuir volume,and bottom hole pressure on gas well production are studied accordingly.The simulation results show that ignoring the micro-scale flow mechanism of the shale gas leads to underestimating the well gas production.It is shown that after ten years of production,the cumulative gas production difference between the two scenarios with and without considering the micro-scale flow mechanisms is 19.5%.The greater the fracture conductivity,the higher the initial gas production of the gas well and the cumulative gas production.The larger the Langmuir volume,the higher the gas production rate and the cumulative gas production.With the reduction of the bottom hole pressure,the cumulative gas production increases,but the growth rate gradually decreases.Hongsha Xiao Ruihan Zhang Man Chen Cui Jing Shangjun Gao Chao Chen Huiyan Zhao Xin Huang Bo Kang 2023Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing2023,19,7:0
