| 7 | Ground movement patterns and shallow foundation performance in Iskenderun coastline during the 2023 Kahramanmaras earthquake sequence显示文摘This study focuses on the field reconnaissance efforts for investigating ground deformation behavior and building foundation performance in Iskenderun.Many structures experienced significant damage or collapsed due to strong ground shaking in the coastal Iskenderun district of Hatay during the 2023 Kahramanmaras earthquake sequence.Many buildings were also impacted by ground failure due to liquefaction of deposits in the area.Preliminary information regarding the general subsurface profile and post-earthquake data collected during the reconnaissance was used to perform simplified liquefaction and lateral spreading analyses.The empirical methods provide first order estimations of settlements and lateral spreading but are not sufficient when the nature of the structure-soil-structure interaction and earthquake sequence is considered.Measurements of vertical displacements and building tilt,liquefaction manifestations,and structural and foundation parameters potentially affecting foundation settlements including foundation geometry,building contact pressure,and building elastic period were used to evaluate seismic response of the ground and the structures through empirical procedures.Most of the buildings exhibited poor to mediocre foundation performance due to liquefaction-prone subsurface profiles,especially on the coastline.Ongoing field and numerical research will reveal the cause of significant ground failure in the area as well as refined estimates for the seismic deformations. | Tugce Baser Kamran Nawaz Albert Chung Seikh Faysal Ozgun Alp Numanoglu | 2023 | Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2023,22,4: | 0 |
| 8 | Developing the criteria for evaluating quality of individualization in homeopathic clinical trial reporting:a preliminary study显示文摘OBJECTIVE:This study describes the development of a preliminary version of an instrument that attempts to assess the quality of reports of individualized homeopathic prescriptions in clinical trials and observational studies.METHODS:A multidisciplinary panel of 15 judges produced an initial version of the instrument through iterative Delphi rounds and pilot-tested the instrument on five clinical trials.Later they assessed,under blind conditions,the individualization quality of 40 randomly-selected research reports.The final version of the instrument included six criteria.These items were scored consistently by all the raters regardless of background.RESULTS:The instrument appeared to have adequate face and content validity,acceptable internal consistency or reliability(Cronbach's a 0.606- 0.725),significant discriminant validity(F = 398.7;P < 0.000 1),moderate interrater reliability(Fleiss k 0.533),agreeable test-retest reliability(Cohen's k 0.765- 0.934),moderate sensitivity(0.4;95%confidence interval 0.253-0.566),and high specificity(1.0;95%confidence interval 0.891-1.000).CONCLUSION:The initial data suggest that this instrument may be a promising systematic tool amendable for further development. | Subhranil Saha Munmun Koley Subhasish Ganguly Prasanta Rath Pulak Roy Chowdhury Seikh Intaj Hossain | 2014 | Journal of Integrative Medicine2014,12,1: | 0 |
| 9 | LaNiO_(3)/g-C_(3)N_(4) nanocomposite:An efficient Z-scheme photocatalyst for wastewater treatment using direct sunlight显示文摘The major findings in this report are(ⅰ)development of nanocomposite photocatalyst working through Z-scheme charge transfer pathway across the heterojunction,(ⅱ)utilization of direct sunlight as the photo-source,and(ⅲ)prospect of ligand-hole in photocatalysis through enhanced sub-band gap absorption,The photocatalysts,namely LaNiO_(3),g-C_(3)N_(4) and LaNiO_(3)/g-C_(3)N_(4) nanocomposites were synthesized via facile route and were characterized for their structure,morphology,microstructure,texture,elemental mapping and surface oxidation states by using several physicochemical techniques.The photocatalytic performance of the nanocomposite was tested through the degradation of hazardous azo dye pollutants,namely reactive black 5 and methylene blue as well as the colorless antibiotic-pollutant tetracycline hydrochloride in aqueous solution in presence of natural sunlight with excellent recycling activity.The 10%LaNiO_(3)/g-C_(3)N_(4) nanocomposite sample shows the best catalytic activity,degrading respectively 94%,98.6%and 88.1%of reactive black 5,methylene blue and tetracycline hydrochloride in60,180 and 120 min.The photocatalytic activity of the nanocomposite phase is several times superior to that of the pure phases.The improvements of photocatalytic activity of g-C_(3)N_(4) in the nanocomposite have been rationalized through the construction of direct Z-scheme heterojunction and suppression of electron-hole pair recombination efficiency.The enhanced photo-absorption of the nanocomposite can possibly be related to sub-bandgap absorption,which is associated to the midgap state originating from ligand-hole formation or defects in the structure.The photodegradation process is mediated through the formation of super oxide radical(O_(2))and hole(h^(+))as the main responsible species. | Kalyan Ghorai Atanu Panda Akbar Hossain Monotosh Bhattacharjee Malay Chakraborty Swapan Kumar Bhattacharya Bibhutibhushan Show Abhimanyu Sarkar Parthasarathi Bera Hansang Kim Md.Motin Seikh Arup Gayen | 2022 | Journal of Rare Earths2022,40,5: | 0 |
