1CRISPR-Cas13a mediated nanosystem for attomolar detection of canine parvovirus type 2显示文摘Canine parvovirus type 2(CPV-2) infection is the most lethal disease of dogs with higher mortality in puppies worldwide.In today’s world,dogs are an integral part of our communities as well as dogs breeding and rearing has become a lucrative business.Therefore,a fast,accurate,portable,and costeffective CPV-2 detection method with the ability for on-site detection is highly desired.In this study,we for the first time proposed a nanosystem for CPV-2 DNA detection with RNA-guided RNA endonuclease Cas13 a,which upon activation results in collateral RNA degradation.We expressed LwCasl3 a in prokaryotic expression system and purified it through nickel column.Activity of Cas13 a was verified by RNA-bound fluorescent group while using a quenched fluorescent probe as signals.Further Cas13 a was combined with Recombinase polymerase amplification(RPA) and T7 transcription to establish molecular detection system termed specific high-sensitivity enzymatic reporter un-locking(SHERLOCK) for sensitive detection of CPV-2 DNA.This nanosystem can detect 100 amol/L CPV-2 DNA within 30 min.The proposed nanosystem exhibited high specificity when tested for CPV-2 and other dog viruses.This CRISPR-Cas13 a mediated sensitive detection approach can be of formidable advantage during CPV-2 outbreaks because it is time-efficient,less laborious and does not involve the use of sophisticated instruments.Haroon Khan Adeel Khan Yufeng Liu Su Wang Sumaira Bibi Hongpan Xu Yuan Liu Samran Durrani Lian Jin Nongyue He Tao Xiong 2019Chinese Chemical Letters2019,30,12:8
2Radiological Aspect of Klippel-Trénaunay Syndrome:A Case Series With Review of Literature显示文摘Klippel-Trénaunay syndrome (KTS)is arare angio-osteo-hypertrophic syndrome characterized by vascular malformations,soft tissue and/or bone hypertrophy, and varicose veins.For the purpose of describing the imaging findings and elucidating the role of medical imaging in the diagnosis and assessment of patient with KTS,we have reviewed the imaging data of 14 KTS patients.The imaging features on different imaging modalities were analyzed.Unilateral lower limb involvement was evident in 71% of cases (n=10)and bilateral but asymmetric lower limb involvement in the remaining 29% of cases (n=4).The most commonly depicted imaging features were varicosities in 93% (n=13),muscle hypertrophy in 79%(n=11)and venous anomalies in 64%(n=9).Other less common imaging findings included lymphedema in 29%(n=4),arterial malformations 29%(n=4),soft tissue hemangiomas 21%(n=3),pelvic and thigh phleboliths 21%(n=3), venous aneurysrns 21%(n=3),bone abnormalities 14%(n=2)and lymphadenopathy 14%(n=2).A severe unilateral lower limb deformity resulting in contractures and muscle atrophy of the whole limb was depicted in 1 case.The pathognomonic marginal vein of Servelle was identified in 2 cases.AV shunt was highly suspected in 4 cases and was confirmed by DSA in 1 case,making Klippel-Trénaunay-Weber syndrome a more apt diagnosis.Associated ipsilateral duplicated renal artery:was found in 1 case.We have concluded that medical imaging is the cornerstone in the.diagnosis and assessment of severity and complications,follow-up and differentiation of KTS from other similar conditions.Different imaging modalities play complementary roles in the evaluation of KTS patients.Osamah Alwalid Joyman Makamure Qi-guang CHENG Wen-jun WU Chao YANG Elham Samran Ping HAN Hui-min LIANG 2018Current Medical Science2018,38,5:4

9Dual Band Switched Beam Textile Antenna for 5G Wireless Communications显示文摘This paper presents the single element dual band switched beam textile antenna.The antenna can operate at frequencies of 0.7 and 2.6 GHz using for 5G wireless communication applications.Textile fabric is considered to be used for substrate layer at the parts of a microstrip antenna for wireless body area network.The beam pattern of antenna can be switched into two directions by changing the position of shorted-circuit points at each edge of antenna.The main beam direction is 45°/225°when corner A is shorted while it steers at 135°/315°when corner B is shorted circuit.The advantage of the proposed antenna is the decrease of the problems like interference,light weight,flexibility and ability to switch beam easily.In addition,the results of the fabricated antenna are compared with the simulated ones.Moreover,the antenna is bent with curvature radius of 6 mm in forward direction.The effects of the bent antenna are studied.The results can confirm that radiation patterns of the bending antenna can be pointed into two directions when changing the positions of shorted circuit.Therefore,the proposed antenna can switch beam patterns,it is flexible,and it can operate at dual-band frequency on textile.Pichaya Chaipanya Supachai Kaewuam Jiraphan Hirunruang Wichaya Suntara Nuchanart Santalunai Samran Santalunai 2022Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,10:0
10Retinal thickness and vascular parameters using optical coherence tomography in Alzheimer's disease:a meta-analysis显示文摘Examining the retinal tissue has the potential to provide a unique method and technique to quantify Alzheimer’s disease-related changes in participants at various stages of the disease.In this metaanalysis,we aimed to investigate the association of various optical coherence tomography parameters with Alzheimer’s disease and whether retinal measurements can be used to diffe rentiate between Alzheimer’s disease and control subjects.Scientific databases including Google Schola r,Web of Science,and PubMed were systematically searched for published articles that evaluated retinal nerve fiber layer thickness and retinal microvascular network in Alzheimer’s disease and control subjects.Seventy-three studies(5850 participants,including 2249 Alzheimer’s disease patients and 3601controls) were included in this meta-analysis.Relative to controls,Alzheimer’s disease patients had a significantly lower global retinal nerve fiber layer thickness(standardized mean difference [SMD]=-0.79,95% confidence intervals [CI]:-1.03 to-0.54,P <0.00001) as well as each quadrant being thinner in Alzheimer’s disease versus controls.Regarding macular paramete rs,values measured by optical coherence tomography were significantly lower in Alzheimer’s disease than controls for macular thickness(pooled SMD:-0.44,95% CI:-0.67 to-0.20,P=0.0003),foveal thickness(pooled SMD=-0.39,95% CI:-0.58 to-0.19,P <0.0001),ganglion cell inner plexiform layer(SMD=-1.26,95% CI:-2.24 to-0.27,P=0.01) and macular volume(pooled SMD=-0.41,95% CI-0.76 to-0.07,P=0.02).Analysis using optical coherence tomography angiography parameters revealed mixed results between Alzheimer’s disease and controls.Superficial vessel density(pooled SMD=-0.42,95% CI:-0.68 to-0.17,P=0.0001) and deep vessel density(pooled SMD=-0.46,95% CI:-0.75 to-0.18,P=0.001) were found to be thinner in Alzheimer’s disease patients whereas the foveal avascular zone(SMD=0.84,95% CI:0.17-1.51,P=0.01) was larger in controls.Vascular density and thickness of various retinal laye rs were decreased in Alzheimer’s disease patients compared to controls.Our results provide evidence for optical coherence tomography technology having the potential to detect retinal and microvascular changes in patients diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and aid in monito ring and early diagnosis methods.Samran Sheriff Ting Shen Sandra Abdal Danit Saks Mehdi Mirzaei Veer Gupta Nitin Chitranshi Yuyi You Angela Schultz Stuart L.Graham Vivek Gupta 2023Neural Regeneration Research2023,18,11:0

12The effect of reforestation on stream flow in Upper Nan river basin using Soil and Water Assessment Tool(SWAT)model显示文摘Forests are an important natural resource,vital to all life.Forests are an important source of food,clothing,and medicines,as well as a place to live.Water released from forests drains into the soil causing groundwater to emerge as stream flow throughout the year.In Thailand,most forests have been encroached by logging,paper production,and housing construction.Population growth and the need for farming area for crop and livestock production have also caused forest encroachment.Technical tools are needed to support the decision makers and planners if they are to achieve objectives of water conservation,and development.These technical tools are needed for assistance in the engineering,socio-economic,and environmental planning.The Soil and Water Assessment Tool(SWAT)was used in the hydrological modeling in this study of the complex and dynamic problems of The Upper Nan river basin.This was a case study to evaluate the impact of changing conditions in the river basin affected by the stream flow due to reforestation.The watershed area was delineated into 5 sub-watersheds based on surface topography provided by the Digital Elevation Model(DEM)and the parameters of each of these watersheds were calculated.The land use data was processed and reclassified to match with the SWAT model land use code.Ten different categories of land use in the study area were used for SWAT processing.Types of land use consist of:mixed forest(33.7%),disturbed forest(30.2%),evergreen forest(17.7%),paddy field(7.1%),orchard(3.7%),range brush(2.7%),field crop(1.7%),planted forest(1.7%),urban(1.4%)and water resources(0.4%).Twenty-two types of soil were found in the basin.The initial curve number values were assigned based on the land use type and soil hydrologic group for the average antecedent moisture condition of the curve number method.The potential evapotranspiration was computed using the Penman-Monteith method.The simulation was performed using three reforestation scenarios to assess stream flow:(1)improved disturbed forest,(2)field crops and range grass,and(3)both disturbed forest and field crops.The results of reforestation from scenarios 1 and 3 can increase stream flow in the drought season and can also reduce the flow in the wet season in the main stream and its tributaries.For scenario 2 Reforestation had no significant effect on the main stream.Winai Wangpimool Kobkiat Pongput Chinnapat Sukvibool Samran Sombatpanit Philip W.Gassman 2013International Soil and Water Conservation Research2013,1,2:0
