Effects of natural covers on soil evaporation of the shelterbelt along the Tarim Desert Highway显示文摘The control of soil evaporation is one of important approaches to save water. The artificially simulated evaporation experiments have been conducted in the hinterland of the Taklimakan Desert to reveal the effects of the natural covers on the soil evaporation of the Tarim Desert Highway shelterbelt as well as provide some insights in the efficient utilization of water resources and optimization of irrigation systems. The results showed that (1) All the covers, including the sand deposit, the salt crust, the litter, the sand-litter mixed layer and so on, can significantly inhibit the soil water evaporation. Specifically, the daily evaporation, the total evaporation, and the evaporation rate in covered sands were much smaller than that of sands without cover. The cover inhibition effects increased with the cover thickness. Particularly, the soil evaporation of the covered sands was less affected by external and internal factors than that of the bare sands. Moreover, the variation of daily evaporation of covered sands was smaller than that of bare sands. The cumulative evaporation varied linearly with time in the covered sands whereas it varied logarithmically in the bare sands. In addition, the soil evaporation in the bare sands showed significantly different characteristics in the early and late stages of the evaporation. (2) All the covers exhibited the significant inhibiting effect on the soil evaporation, and the inhibition efficiency increased logarithmically with the cover thickness. However, as the cover thickness was above a certain value, the increase in the inhibition efficiency was slow. Particularly, at a cover thickness of 2 cm, there was no obvious difference in the inhibition efficiency among all kinds of covers. The maximum inhibition efficiency as calculated from the daily evaporation on the first day of irrigation was: sand-litter mixed layer (79.92%) > litter layer (78.96%) > salt crust (75.58%) > sand bed (74.11%), whereas the average inhibiting efficiency as calculated from the cumulative soil evaporation at the end of an irrigation cycle (the fourth day) was: salt crust (67.78%) > sand-litter mixed layer (66.72%) > sand deposit (63.28%) > litter layer (61.74%). | ZHOU HongWei LI ShengYu SUN ShuGuo XU XinWen LEI JiaQiang LIU Shang DU WenYi YAN Zeng WANG YongChang | 2008 | Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,S2: | 11
The salt accumulation at the shifting aeolian sandy soil surface with high salinity groundwater drip irrigation in the hinterland of the Taklimakan Desert显示文摘The EC analysis and water serial sampling was performed in the Tarim Desert Highway shelterbelt to explore the water and salt dynamics of the shallow aeolian sandy soil ( 0-30cm) under high salinity groundwater drip irrigation. It was found that in one irrigation cycle, the EC of the shallow shifting aeolian sandy soil ( 0-30cm) increased while the water content decreased. The EC of the surface aeolian sandy soil at the wetting front was far greater than that of the wetting area or the outside of the wetting area. During the irrigation cycle, the EC of the wetting front and the wetting area changed at a significant magnitude, whereas the EC of the outside of the wetting area remained largely steady. The horizontal influence distance of drip irrigation on the salt accumulation at the soil surface was about 100 cm, and the vertical influence depth was 5 cm. The three most abundant ions in the accumulated salt at the aeolian sandy soil surface were Na+, Cl- and SO42-. The salt accumulation at the soil surface was influenced by air temperature, wind speed, mineralization of irrigation water, sand burial thickness, soil texture, and litter content. | ZHANG JianGuo XU XinWen LEI JiaQiang SUN ShuGuo FAN JingLong LI ShengYu GU Feng QIU YongZhi XU Bo | 2008 | Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,S2: | 10
Effect of the shelterbelt along the Tarim Desert Highway on air temperature and humidity显示文摘The temperature and humidity of the shelterbelt micro-climate on both horizontal and vertical scales in the extremely drought area were measured with multiple HOBO temperature and humidity automatic observation equipments in the hinterland of the Taklimakan Desert. The results show that the shelterbelt ecosystem of the desert highway plays typical micro-climate adjustment rolesin stabilizing surface air temperature and increasing air humidity, and so on. Solar radiation significantly affects both temperature and humidity of surface layers, and it has a positive correlation with the temperature but a negative correlation with the air humidity. When it is cloudy, the weather has a great impact on keeping temperature and humidity in the shelterbelt. The shelterbelt also significantly influences the environment, and the micro-climate in the belt has an obvious characteristic of cooling and humidification: compared with the original sand area, the temperature in the shelterbelt is always lower and the humidity is always higher. Moreover, the temperature range at the shelterbelt edge is greater than that in the sand area, but the humidity is always higher. Our conclusion is that the vertical-effect range of temperature of the shelterbelts is 4 -10 m, and the humidity range is 6 to 8 m; the horizontal-effect range of temperature is 16 m and the humidity range is about 24 m. | WANG HaiFeng LEI JiaQiang LI ShengYu FAN JingLong LI YingGang SUN ShuGuo CHANG Qing | 2008 | Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,S2: | 4

Is oral microbiome of children able to maintain resistance and functional stability in response to short-term interference of ingesta?显示文摘Dear Editor,A series of studies had focused on the ecological stability of human microbiome(Lozupone et al.,2012;Faith et al.,2013;Moya and Ferrer,2016).Despite the continuous perturbation and the highly personalized composition within the human microbiome(Human Microbiome Project,2012),healthy adults stably maintain their microbial communities in terms of space and time(Faith et al.,2013;Moya and Ferrer,2016;Oh et al.,2016).This stability is proved to be critical for the well-being of human body(Lozupone et al.,2012).On the contrary, major shifts in microbial community composition are often related to diseases(Lynch and Pedersen,2016). | Fangqiao Wei Xiangyu Sun Yufeng Gao Haoyu Dou Yang Liu Lili Su Haofei Luo Ce Zhu Qian Zhang Peiyuan Tong Wen Ren Zhe Xun Ruochun Guo Yuanlin Guan Shenghui Li Yijun Qi Junjie Qin Feng Chen Shuguo Zheng | 2021 | Protein & Cell2021,12,6: | 1
Anomaly Detection and Pattern Differentiation in Monitoring Data from Power Transformers显示文摘Aiming at the problem of abnormal data generated by a power transformer on-line monitoring system due to the influences of transformer operation state change, external environmental interference, communication interruption, and other factors,a method of anomaly recognition and differentiation for monitoring data was proposed.Firstly, the empirical wavelet transform(EWT)and the autoregressive integrated moving average(ARIMA)model were used for time series modelling of monitoring data to obtain the residual sequence reflecting the anomaly monitoring data value, and then the isolation forest algorithm was used to identify the abnormal information, and the monitoring sequence was segmented according to the recognition results.Secondly, the segmented sequence was symbolised by the improved multi-dimensional SAX vector representation method, and the assessment of the anomaly pattern was made by calculating the similarity score of the adjacent symbol vectors, and the monitoring sequence correlation was further used to verify the assessment. Finally, the case study result shows that the proposed method can reliably recognise abnormal data and accurately distinguish between invalid and valid anomaly patterns. | Jun Zhao Shuguo Gao Yunpeng Liu QuanWang Ziqiang Xu Yuan Tian Lu Sun | 2022 | Energy Engineering2022,119,5: | 0
Experimental clearance rate and intraguild predation of jellyfish Cyanea nozakii显示文摘Cyanea nozakii,a common jellyfish distributed in offshore China, has a complex trophic relationship with other zooplankton groups. However, few studies have reported the predation rates and prey selection patterns of C.nozakii medusae on different prey items.Research is also lacking on the intraguild predation of Aurelia coerulea(another common bloom jellyfish in offshore China)by C.nozakii.To address the knowledge gaps, the clearance rates of C.nozakii for different prey items, including copepods(small<1000μm and large>1000μm),fish larvae, and gelatinous prey(hydromedusae,A.coerulea ephyrae, and chaetognaths),were measured. The influence of predator size on the clearance rate was also determined.Additionally,we examined the intraguild predation of C.nozakii on A.coerulea medusae. The clearance rates of C.nozakii varied widely with prey organisms, being independent of prey concentrations.Gelatinous organisms, except for chaetognaths, were captured with considerably high efficiency, followed by fish larvae and copepods, indicating the preferential prey selection of gelatinous organisms by C.nozakii.The clearance rate increased linearly with the cross-sectional area of C.nozakii.Body size in medusae may,to some extents, underpin their capacity to capture more prey by increasing the encounter rate and capture success through ontogeny.C.nozakii preyed voraciously on A.coerulea in high feeding efficiency, but the clearance rate decreased with increasing A.coerulea(as prey)size. This phenomenon of intraguild predation suggests a speculative hypothesis of potential population regulation of A.coerulea by C.nozakii.The information regarding the feeding ecology of C.nozakii reported in this study is important for understanding plankton dynamics in marine ecosystems with extensive occurrences of this jellyfish. | Pengpeng WANG Fang ZHANG Song SUN Shuguo LÜ | 2024 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2024,42,1: | 0
