| 1 | Effects of interstitial H and/or C atoms on the magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of La(Fe, Si)_(13)-based compounds显示文摘La(Fe,Si)13-based compounds have been considered as promising candidates for magnetic refrigerants particularly near room temperature.Herein we review recent progress particularly in the study of the effects of interstitial H and/or C atoms on the magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of La(Fe,Si)13compounds.By introducing H and/or C atoms,the Curie temperature TC increases notably with the increase of lattice expansion which makes the Fe 3d band narrow and reduces the overlap of the Fe 3d wave functions.The first-order itinerant-electron metamagnetic transition is conserved and the MCE still remains high after hydrogen absorption.In contrast,the characteristic of magnetic transition varies from first-order to second-order with the increase of C concentration,which leads to remarkable reduction of thermal and magnetic hysteresis.In addition,the introduction of interstitial C atoms promotes the formation of NaZn13-type(1:13)phase in La(Fe,Si)13compounds,and thus reducing the annealing time significantly from 40 days for LaFe11.7Si1.3to a week for LaFe11.7Si1.3C0.2.The pre-occupied interstitial C atoms may depress the rate of hydrogen absorption and release,which is favorable to the accurate control of hydrogen content.It is found that the reduction of particle size would greatly depress the hysteresis loss and improve the hydrogenation process.By the incorporation of both H and C atoms,large MCE without hysteresis loss can be obtained in La(Fe,Si)13compounds around room temperature,for instance,La0.7Pr0.3Fe11.5Si1.5C0.2H1.2exhibits a large|SM|of 22.1 J/(kg·K)at TC=321 K without hysteresis loss for a field change of 0 5 T. | ZHANG Hu HU FengXia SUN JiRong SHEN BaoGen | 2013 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2013,56,12: | 6 |

It consists of two cavities that work on 2448 MHz: a re-entrant position cavity tuned to TM110 mode and a reference cavity tuned to TM010 mode. Cut-through waveguides are used as pickups to suppress the monopole signal. Simulations with different assumption of dimension change are performed to evaluate errors caused by mechanical error and give general tolerance. Design of electronics is given. | 4 | HLS bunch current measurement system显示文摘Bunch current is an important parameter for studying the injection fill-pattern in the storage ring and the instability threshold of the bunch, and the bunch current monitor also is an indispensable tool for the top-up injection. A bunch current measurement (BCM) system has been developed to meet the needs of the upgrade project of Hefei Light Source (HLS). This paper presents the layout of the BCM system. The system based on a high-speed digital oscilloscope can be used to measure the bunch current and synchronous phase shift. To obtain the absolute value of bunch-by-bunch current, the calibration coefficient is measured and analyzed. | 5 | Development and application of the new BPM system data processing program at Hefei light source显示文摘A data processing program has been applied for the new beam position monitor (BPM) system of the storage ring at Hefei Light Source (HLS). The new BPM system in the upgrade project will be equipped with Libera Brilliance BPM processors to replace the old Bergoz MX-BPM processors. The embedded Linux system on Libera has completed some important work, including instrument status check,data acquisition, position calculation, EPICS IOC data release,and so on. A new EPICS record type has been developed to recalculate the beam position with log-ratio method. The property of the new position data was analyzed in the time and frequency domain. The results show that the rms value of beam position measurement resolution can be up to submicron. | 6 | The measurement of electron beam transverse sizes by synchrotron radiation interferometry for HLS Ⅱ显示文摘In order to improve accuracy of electron beam transverse sizes measurement,the vertical and horizontal synchrotron radiation light interferometers have been designed to measure beam transverse sizes for the upgrade project of Hefei Light Source(HLS II).In this paper,the light intensity distributions of the interferogram are descussed,and parameters of the interferometers are optimized.The interferograms are simulated under MATLAB. Emittance optimization is an indispensable part in conditioning and operation of the facility. For a laser-driven high brightness injector, different time structure of the laser pulse has different effects on transverse emittance. In order to compare Gaussian and flat-top laser pulse, systematic simulations of 500 pC have been done. | 13 | Design and cold test of S-BAND cavity BPM for HLS显示文摘An S-band cavity BPM is designed for a new injector in National Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory. A re-entrant position cavity is tuned to the TM110 mode as position cavity. Cut-through waveguides are used as pickups to suppress the monopole signal. Theoretical resolution of this design is 31 nm. A prototype cavity BPM system is manufactured for off-line cold tests. The wire scanning method is used to calibrate the BPM and estimate the performance of the on-line BPM system. A cross-talk problem has been detected during the cold test. Racetrack cavity BPM design can be used to suppress the cross-talk. With the nonlinear effect being ignored, transform matrix can be used to correct cross-talk. | 19 | Magnetic Field Induced Entropy Change for La-Fe Based NaZn_(13)-Typed Compounds显示文摘Magnetic field induced entropy change was investigated for La-Fe based NaZn13-type compounds with magnetic first-order phase transition. In view of magnetic refrigeration at room temperature, the developing of the materials and the understanding of the entropy change were reviewed. For La-Fe-Si compounds, the entropy change about 29 J·kg-1·K-1 was obtained at 190 K under the magnetic field of 5 T. While a large entropy change of about 15 J·kg-1·K-1 near room temperature under 5 T can be obtained by the substitution of Co for Fe in the compounds. It is found that the entropy change is mainly composed of that contributed from magnetic ordering and crystal lattice.
