2Effects of size variation and spatial structure on plastic response of plant height to light competition显示文摘Plants only interact with neighbors over restricted distances,so local conditions are of great significance for plants.In this study,a spatially-explicit,individual-based model was constructed to explore the effects of size variation and spatial structure on adaptive plasticity of plant height in response to light competition.In the model a plant maintains its height at an optimal value in order to maximize its growth rate,and this optimal height increases with the increase of the intensity of light competition experienced by the individual plant.When the spatial pattern of the population is non-uniform or there is size variation among individual plants,the height growth curves of individuals different from each other vary due to the differences in the local light environment,and there is also variation in the allocation of photosynthate to height growth among the individual plants.There is no ESS height or height growth strategy on which all plants will converge.Our results indicate that the plasticity of plants' height growth reactions to the light competition should be considered at the individual level and they argue strongly for the importance of the spatial pattern and neighborhood effects in generating the diversity of heights and height growth strategies in plant population.CHEN ShuYan ZHANG JiaLin JIA Peng XU Jin WANG Gang XIAO Sa 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,12:8
3Effects of traits,species identity and local environmental conditions on the assessment of interactions:insights from an alpine meadow community显示文摘Aims The prediction that facilitation is the dominant interaction in physically stressful conditions has been supported by many but not all field studies.In the present paper,we tested the effects of the identity of species,the local environmental conditions and the currencies of performance measurement on such variation.Methods Using contrasting two plots,six species,and up to five multiple traits,we comprehensively explored the effects of the above factors on the assessment of plant interactions in an alpine meadow of the QingHai Tibetan Plateau.Additionally,we attempted to figure out the possible mechanisms underlying the responses observed.The data were analysed by both standard ANOVAs and multivariate statistics.Important findings Our results demonstrated that the response to the removal of neighbours was both species and trait specific,and the effect of the ocal environmental conditions was dependent on the species involved.The contrast between plots had crucial influence on the net interactions of Kobresia macrantha,but little effect on Elymus nutans.Regarding the abiotic conditions,neighbours had significant impact on soil temperature,moist and solar radiation.The results contribute to advance our knowledge on the potential underlying factors influencing the assessment of facilitation.Chengjin Chu Youshi Wang Qi Li Luqiang Zhao Zhengwei Ren Sa Xiao Jianli Yuan Gang Wang 2009Journal of Plant Ecology2009,2,3:6

5Enhancing hydrogen evolution of MoS_(2) basal planes by combining single-boron catalyst and compressive strain显示文摘M0 S2 is a promising candidate for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER),while its active sites are mainly distributed on the edge sites rather than the basal plane sites.Herein,a strategy to overcome the inertness of the M0 S2 basal surface and achieve high HER activity by combining single-boron catalyst and compressive strain was reported through density functional theory(DFT)computations.The ab initio molecular dynamics(AIMD)simulation on B@MoS2 suggests high thermodynamic and kinetic stability.We found that the rather strong adsorption of hydrogen by B@MoS2 can be alleviated by stress engineering.The optimal stress of -7%can achieve a nearly zero value of △Gh(〜-0.084 eV),which is close to that of the ideal Pt-SACs for HER.The novel HER activity is attributed to(i)the Bdoping brings the active site to the basal plane of M0 S2 and reduces the band-gap,thereby increasing the conductivity;(ii)the compressive stress regulates the number of charge transfer between(H)-(B)-(MoS2),weakening the adsorption energy of hydrogen on B@MoS2.Moreover,we constructed a SiN/B@MoS2 heterojunction,which introduces an 8.6%compressive stress for B@MoS2 and yields an ideal AGh-This work provides an effective means to achieve high intrinsic HER activity for M0 S2.Zhitao Cui Wei Du Chengwei Xiao Qiaohong Li Rongjian Sa Chenghua Sun Zuju Ma 2020Frontiers of physics2020,15,6:4
6A modified multi-group model of angular and momentum distribution of cosmic ray muons for thickness measurement and material discrimination of slabs显示文摘Muon tomography is a capable imaging technique to measure the geometry of high-Z objects. However,most existed algorithms used in muon tomography have obscured the effects of angular distribution and momentum spectra of cosmic ray muons and reduced the spatial resolution. We present a modified multi-group model that takes into account these effects and calibrates the model by the material of lead. Performance tests establish that the model is capable of measuring the thickness of a Pb slab and identifying the material of an unknown slab on a reasonable exposure timescale, in both cases of complete and incomplete angular data. 7Identification of the unknown shielding parameters with gammaray spectrum using a derivative-free inverse radiation transport model显示文摘Identifying the unknown geometric and material information of a multi-shield object by analyzing the radiation signature measurements is always an important problem in national and global security. In order to identify the unknown shielding layer thicknesses of a source/shield system with gamma-ray spectra, we have developed a derivative-free inverse radiation transport model based on a differential evolution algorithm with global and local neighbourhoods(IRT-DEGL). In the present paper, the IRT-DEGL model is further extended for estimating the unknown thicknesses with random initial guesses and material mass densities of multi-shielding layers as well as their combinations. 8A Throughput-Aware Joint Vehicle Route and Access Network Selection Approach Based on SMDP显示文摘In intelligent transportation system(ITS), the interworking of vehicular networks(VN) and cellular networks(CN) is proposed to provide high-data-rate services to vehicles. As the network access quality for CN and VN is location related, mobile data offloading(MDO), which dynamically selects access networks for vehicles, should be considered with vehicle route planning to further improve the wireless data throughput of individual vehicles and to enhance the performance of the entire ITS. In this paper, we investigate joint MDO and route selection for an individual vehicle in a metropolitan scenario. We aim to improve the throughput of the target vehicle while guaranteeing its transportation efficiency requirements in terms of traveling time and distance. To achieve this objective, we first formulate the joint route and access network selection problem as a semi-Markov decision process(SMDP). Then we propose an optimal algorithm to calculate its optimal policy. To further reduce the computation complexity, we derive a suboptimal algorithm which reduces the action space. 9Pd/TiO2 Nanospheres with Three-dimensional Hyperstructure for Enhanced Photodegradation of Organic Dye显示文摘Pd/TiO2 nanospheres assembled from nanorods with three-dimensional hyperstructure for enlianced photodegradation of organic dye was prepared by a sample solvothemial method. Further, it was used for degradation of methyl orange(MO) under the illumination of visible-light(simulated).The results show that Pd/TiO2 with 2%(mass fraction) Pd exhibits the noticeable activity in photodegrading of MO.The detailed analysis shows that this enhancement is attributed to the reduction of the rate of electron-hole recombination and surface plasmon resonance of Pd.
