| 1 | Multi-Objective Optimization of Surface-Mounted and Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Based on Taguchi Method and Response Surface Method显示文摘The surface-mounted and interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(SIPMSM)has the characteristics of multiple variables,strong coupling and nonlinearity.In order to improve the performance of SIPMSM,this paper presents a multi-objective optimal design process using Taguchi and response surface methodology(RSM).The peak value of cogging torque(PVCT),ratio value of average torque and permanent magnet weight(RTW),torque ripple and back-EMF total harmonics distortion(ETHD)are selected as optimization goals.The experiment matrix is established by Taguchi method,and analyzed the tendency and proportion of the effect of the optimization parameters on SIPMSM performance.The rules of choosing multi-objective optimization parameters are obtained.The least-squares method is used to establish the optimal objective function,and RSM is used to obtain the resolutions of the optimization objective function.Comparing the initial performance with optimized performance verifies the effectiveness of the proposed method. | Jikai Si Suzhen Zhao Haichao Feng Ruiwu Cao Yihua Hu | 2018 | Chinese Journal of Electrical Engineering2018,4,1: | 11 |
| 2 | Varying coefficient analysis for indeterminate species interactions with non-parametric estimation, exemplifying with a fig-fig wasp system显示文摘Research on species interactions has generally assumed that species have a fixed interaction and therefore linear or non-linear parametric regression models (e.g. exponential, logistic) have been widely used to describe the species interaction. However, these models that describe the relationship between interacting species as a specific functional response might not be appropriate for real biological communities, for instance, in a chaotic system, when the species relationship varies among different situations. To allow a more accurate description of the relationship, we developed a species correlation model with varying coefficient analysis, in which a non-parametric estimation is applied to identify, as a function of related factors, variation in the correlation coefficient. This was applied to a fig-fig wasp model system. When the effect of the factors on the relationship can be described with parameters, the new method reduces to traditional parametric correlation analysis. In this way, the new method is more general and flexible for empirical data analyses, but different by allowing investigation of whether a species interaction varies with respect to factors, and of the factors that maintain or change the species interaction. | 5 | Elevated neutrophil extracellular traps by HBV-mediated S100A9-TLR4/RAGE-ROS cascade facilitate the growth and metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘Background:Neutrophil extracellular traps(NETs)are considered significant contributors to cancer progression,especially metastasis.However,it is still unclear whether NETs are involved in hepatitis B virus(HBV)-related hepatocarcinogenesis and have potential clinical significance during evaluation and management for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).In this study,we aimed to investigate the functional mechanism of NETs in HBV-related hepatocarcinogenesis and their clinical significance.Methods:A total of 175 HCC patients with and without HBV infection and 58 healthy controls were enrolled in this study.NETs weremeasured in tissue specimens,freshly isolated neutrophils and blood serum from these patients,and the correlation of circulating serum NETs levels with malignancy was evaluated.The mechanism by which HBV modulates NETs formation was explored using cell-based studies.In addition,in vitro and in vivo experiments were further performed to clarify the functional mechanism of NETs on the growth and metastasis of HCC.Results:We observed an elevated level of NETs in blood serum and tissue specimens from HCC patients,especially those infected with HBV.NETs facilitated the growth and metastasis of HCC both in vitro and in vivo,which were mainly dominated by increased angiogenesis,epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT)-related cell migration,matrix metalloproteinases(MMPs)-induced extracellular matrix(ECM)degradation and NETs-mediated cell trapping.Inhibition of NETs generation by DNase 1 effectively abrogated the NETs-aroused HCC growth and metastasis.In addition,HBV-induced S100A9 accelerated the generation of NETs,which was mediated by activation of toll-like receptor(TLR4)/receptor for advanced glycation end products(RAGE)-reactive oxygen species(ROS)signaling.Further,circulatory NETs were found to correlate with viral load,TNM stage and metastasis status in HBV-related HCC,and the identified NETs could predict extrahepatic metastasis,with an area under the ROC curve(AUC)of 0.83 and 90.3%sensitivity and 62.8%specificity at a cutoff value of 0.32.Conclusions:Our findings indicated that activation of RAGE/TLR4-ROS signaling by HBV-induced S100A9 resulted in abundant NETs formation,which subsequently facilitated the growth and metastasis of HCC cells.More importantly,the identified circulatory NETs exhibited potential as an alternative biomarker for predicting extrahepatic metastasis in HBV-related HCC. | Xi Zhan RuiWu Xue-Hua Kong Yan You Kun He Xiao-Yu Sun Yong Huang Wei-Xian Chen Liang Duan | 2023 | Cancer Communications2023,43,2: | 3 |
| 6 | Bioactive extracellular matrix scaffolds engineered with proangiogenic proteoglycan mimetics and loaded with endothelial progenitor cells promote neovascularization and diabetic wound healing显示文摘Diabetic ischemic wound treatment remains a critical clinical challenge.Neovascularization plays a significant role in wound healing during all stages of the tissue repair process.Strategies that enhance angiogenesis and neovascularization and improve ischemic pathology may promote the healing of poor wounds,particularly diabetic wounds in highly ischemic conditions.We previously identified a cyclic peptide LXW7 that specifically binds to integrinαvβ3 on endothelial progenitor cells(EPCs)and endothelial cells(ECs),activates vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)receptors,and promotes EC growth and maturation.In this study,we designed and synthesized a multi-functional pro-angiogenic molecule by grafting LXW7 and collagen-binding peptides(SILY)to a dermatan sulfate(DS)glycosaminoglycan backbone,named LXW7-DS-SILY,and further employed this multi-functional molecule to functionalize collagen-based extracellular matrix(ECM)scaffolds.We confirmed that LXW7-DS-SILY modification significantly promoted EPC attachment and growth on the ECM scaffolds in vitro and supported EPC survival in vivo in the ischemic environment.When applied in an established Zucker Diabetic Fatty(ZDF)rat ischemic skin flap model,LXW7-DS-SILY-functionalized ECM scaffolds loaded with EPCs significantly improved wound healing,enhanced neovascularization and modulated collagen fibrillogenesis in the ischemic environment.Altogether,this study provides a promising novel treatment to accelerate diabetic ischemic wound healing,thereby reducing limb amputation and mortality of diabetic patients. | Siqi He Tanaya Walimbe Hongyuan Chen Kewa Gao Priyadarsini Kumar Yifan Wei Dake Hao Ruiwu Liu Diana L.Farmer Kit S.Lam Jianda Zhou Alyssa Panitch Aijun Wang | 2022 | Bioactive Materials2022,7,4: | 2 |
| 7 | Spatial games and the maintenance of cooperation in an asymmetric Hawk-Dove game显示文摘Classical theories explaining the evolution of cooperation often rely on the assumption that the involved players are symmetrically interacted.However,in reality almost all well-documented cooperation systems show that cooperative players are in fact asymmetrically interacted and that this dynamic may greatly affect the cooperative behavior of the involved players.Here,we developed several models based on the most well known spatial game of the Hawk-Dove game,while also considering the effects of asymmetric interaction.Such asymmetric games possess four kinds of strategies:cooperation or defection of strong player and cooperation or defection of weak player.Computer simulations showed that the probability of defection of the strong player decreases with decreasing the benefit to cost ratio,and that all kinds of strategy will be substituted by cooperation on behalf of the strong player if the benefit to cost ratio is sufficiently small.Moreover,weak players find it difficult to survive and the surviving weak players are mostly defectors,similar to the Boxed Pigs game.Interestingly,the patterns of kinds of strategies are chaotic or oscillate in some conditions with the related factors. | HE JunZhou ZHAO Yue CAI HengJin WANG RuiWu | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,17: | 2 |
| 8 | Cooperation in an asymmetric volunteer's dilemma game with relatedness显示文摘What motivates some members of a social group to voluntarily incur costs in order to provide for the common good? This question lies at the heart of theoretical and empirical studies of cooperative behavior. This is also the question that underlies the classic volunteer's dilemma model, which has been previously explored in scenarios where group members are related or interact asym- metrically. Here we present a model that combines asymmetry and relatedness, showing that the probability of volunteerism in such systems depends closely on both the degree of asymmetry and level of relatedness between interacting individuals. As has been shown in previous volunteer's dilemma models, the payoff ratio and overall group size also influence the probability of volunteerism. The probability of volunteerism decreases with increasing group size or decreasing cost-to-benefit ratio of the coplayers; in the presence of asymmetrical interactions, subordinate players were more likely to offer public goods than the dominant player. | 14 | Spatial heterogeneity and host repression in fig-fig wasp mutualism显示文摘It is generally believed that physical heterogeneity in common resource or evolutionary restraint can sufficiently prevent direct conflict between host and symbionts in mutualism systems. Our data on fig/fig wasp reciprocal mutualism(Ficus racemosa), however, show that structural barriers of female flowers or genetic constraints of pollinators previously hypothesized exist, but cannot sufficiently maintain the mutualism stability. The results show that a positive relationship between seed and wasp production could be maintained in warm season, which might be because of density dependence restraint among foundresses and their low oviposition and pollination efficiency, keeping common resource(female flowers) utilization unsaturated. Whilst, a negative correlation between wasp offspring and viable seed production was also observed in cold season, which might be that the increased oviposition and pollination efficiency maximized the common resource utilization. The fitness trade-off between fig and pollinator wasps is greatly affected by environmental or ecological variations. The local stability might result from temporal low exploitation efficiency of pollinators together with interference competition among pollinators. We suggest that host repression through the active regulation of bract closure, which can create interference competition among the foundresses and prevent extra more foundresses sequential entry in fruit cavities, would help the figs avoiding the cost of over-exploitation.
