1Kallistatin,a new and reliable biomarker for the diagnosis of liver cirrhosis显示文摘Kallistatin,which protects organs and cells against inflammation,fibrosis and oxidative stress,is mainly synthesized and secreted in liver.However,its relationship to human liver disease remains unclear.The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between serum kallistatin and clinical evidence of both cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),and to determine if serum kallistatin levels could be used as a diagnostic indicator of hepatic health status,especially human liver cirrhosis(LC).Our cohort consisted of 115 patients with clinically proven liver fibrosis(LF),LC,or HCC by liver biopsies,and 31 healthy controls(CON).Serum kallistatin levels were quantified by ELISA.Results of the present study demonstrated that irrespective of the underlying etiology,serum kallistatin levels were significantly lower in the LF/LC group when compared with the CON group.A decrease in serum kallistatin levels appeared to reflect the extent of cirrhosis,with the lowest levels associated with higher grades of cirrhosis.Patients with LC had a noticeable correlation between serum kallistatin levels and other serum biochemical indicators.The area under the curve(AUC) for LC,viral liver cirrhosis(VLC)and alcoholic liver cirrhosis(ALC) was 0.845,0.757 and 0.931,respectively.In conclusion,our findingsdemonstrated that kallistatin,a plasma protein produced by the liver,can be a useful and reliable diagnostic indicator of hepatic health status,especially for LC.Zhiyun Cheng Yinghui Lv Suqiu Pang Ruyu Bai Mingxi Wang Shuyu Lin Tianwen Xu Duncan Spalding Nagy Habib Ruian Xu 2015Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2015,5,3:7
2Parallel computing study for the large-scale generalized eigenvalue problems in modal analysis显示文摘In this paper we study the algorithms and their parallel implementation for solving large-scale generalized eigenvalue problems in modal analysis.Three predominant subspace algorithms,i.e.,Krylov-Schur method,implicitly restarted Arnoldi method and Jacobi-Davidson method,are modified with some complementary techniques to make them suitable for modal analysis.Detailed descriptions of the three algorithms are given.Based on these algorithms,a parallel solution procedure is established via the PANDA framework and its associated eigensolvers.Using the solution procedure on a machine equipped with up to 4800processors,the parallel performance of the three predominant methods is evaluated via numerical experiments with typical engineering structures,where the maximum testing scale attains twenty million degrees of freedom.The speedup curves for different cases are obtained and compared.The results show that the three methods are good for modal analysis in the scale of ten million degrees of freedom with a favorable parallel scalability.FAN XuanHua CHEN Pu WU RuiAn XIAO ShiFu 2014Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2014,57,3:4
3Estimation of Seismic Landslide Hazard in the Eastern Himalayan Syntaxis Region of Tibetan Plateau显示文摘The eastern Himalayan syntaxis is one of the most tectonically active and earthquake-prone regions on Earth where earthquake-induced geological disasters occur frequently and caused great damages. With the planning and construction of Sichuan-Tibet highway, Sichuan-Tibet railway and hydropower development on the Yarlung Zangbo River etc. in recent years, it is very important to evaluate the seismic landslide hazard of this region. In this paper, a seismic landslide hazard map is produced based on seismic geological background analysis and field investigation using Newmark method with 10% PGA exceedance probabilities in future 50 years by considering the influence of river erosion, active faults and seismic amplification for the first time. The results show that the areas prone to seismic landslides are distributed on steep slopes along the drainages and the glacier horns as well as ridges on the mountains. 4Targeted thrombolysis strategies for neuroprotective effect显示文摘Stroke is usually treated by systemic thrombolytic therapy if the patient presents within an appropriate time window. There is also widespread interest in the development of thrombolytic agents that can be used in cases of delayed presentation. Current agents that can be used in cases of delayed presentation of nerve damage by thrombus. Current systemic thrombolytic therapy is associated with adverse effects such as fibrinogenolysis and bleeding. In an attempt to increase the efficacy, safety, and specificity of thrombolytic therapy, a number of targeted thrombolytic agents have been studied in recent years. 5CLDASSD:Reconstructing Fine Textures of the Temperature Field Using Super-Resolution Technology显示文摘Before 2008,the number of surface observation stations in China was small.Thus,the surface observation data were too sparse to effectively support the High-resolution China Meteorological Administration’s Land Assimilation System(HRCLDAS)which ultimately inhibited the output of high-resolution and high-quality gridded products.This paper proposes a statistical downscaling model based on a deep learning algorithm in super-resolution to research the above problem.Specifically,we take temperature as an example.The model is used to downscale the 0.0625°×0.0625°,2-m temperature data from the China Meteorological Administration’s Land Data Assimilation System(CLDAS)to 0.01°×0.01°,named CLDASSD.We performed quality control on the paired data from CLDAS and HRCLDAS,using data from 2018 and 2019.CLDASSD was trained on the data from 31 March 2018 to 28 February 2019,and then tested with the remaining data.Finally,extensive experiments were conducted in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region which features complex and diverse geomorphology.Taking the HRCLDAS product and surface observation data as the'true values'and comparing them with the results of bilinear interpolation,especially in complex terrain such as mountains,the root mean square error(RMSE)of the CLDASSD output can be reduced by approximately 0.1℃,and its structural similarity(SSIM)was approximately 0.2 higher.CLDASSD can estimate detailed textures,in terms of spatial distribution,with greater accuracy than bilinear interpolation and other sub-models and can perform the expected downscaling tasks.Ruian TIE Chunxiang SHI Gang WAN Xingjie HU Lihua KANG Lingling GE 2022Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2022,39,1:2

18Prospects of China’s New Arbitration Law:From the Perspective of Balancing Legal Paternalism and Autonomy of Will显示文摘Recently,the Ministry of Justice of China issued a revised draft of the arbitration law for public comments,which means that China’s arbitration law will be revised for the third time,and this time the revision content is quite extensive.It can be expected that China’s new arbitration law will usher in tremendous changes.On the whole,China’s new arbitration law may make great strides towards the direction of party autonomy,but the traces of legal paternalism are still obvious.Legal paternalism in arbitration law is not something that needs to be opposed completely;on the contrary,it will protect the interests of the parties and promote the credibility of arbitration to some extent.A feasible direction is to try to balance the inherent autonomy of will of arbitration and the Chinese legal paternalism tradition.From this perspective,the notion of“Libertarian Paternalism”is a worthy of reference.It will help to improve the arbitration law and enhance the international competitiveness of China’s arbitration industry to avoid coercive rules and replace them with channeling people into making the selections that are best for them.FANG Ruian 2021US-China Law Review2021,18,6:0
19Characterization and spatial analysis of coseismic landslides triggered by the Luding Ms 6.8 earthquake in the Xianshuihe fault zone, Southwest China显示文摘On September 5, 2022, a magnitude Ms 6.8 earthquake occurred along the Moxi fault in the southern part of the Xianshuihe fault zone located in the southeastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau,resulting in severe damage and substantial economic loss. In this study, we established a coseismic landslide database triggered by Luding Ms 6.8 earthquake, which includes 4794 landslides with a total area of 46.79 km^(2). The coseismic landslides primarily consisted of medium and small-sized landslides, characterized by shallow surface sliding. Some exhibited characteristics of high-position initiation resulted in the obstruction or partial obstruction of rivers, leading to the formation of dammed lakes. Our research found that the coseismic landslides were predominantly observed on slopes ranging from 30° to 50°, occurring at between 1000 m and 2500 m, with slope aspects varying from 90° to 180°. Landslides were also highly developed in granitic bodies that had experienced structural fracturing and strong-tomoderate weathering. Coseismic landslides concentrated within a 6 km range on both sides of the Xianshuihe and Daduhe fault zones. The area and number of coseismic landslides exhibited a negative correlation with the distance to fault lines, road networks, and river systems, as they were influenced by fault activity, road excavation, and river erosion. The coseismic landslides were mainly distributed in the southeastern region of the epicenter, exhibiting relatively concentrated patterns within the IX-degree zones such as Moxi Town, Wandong River basin, Detuo Town to Wanggangping Township. Our research findings provide important data on the coseismic landslides triggered by the Luding Ms 6.8 earthquake and reveal the spatial distribution patterns of these landslides. 20Observation on therapeutic efficacy of ursodeoxycholic acid in Chinese patients with primary biliary cirrhosis:a 2-year follow-up study显示文摘The efficacy of ursodeoxycholic acid(UDCA)on long-term outcome of primary biliary cirrhosis(PBC)has been less documented in Chinese cohort.We aimed to assess the therapeutic effect of UDCA on Chinese patients with PBC.In the present study,67 patients with PBC were treated with UDCA(13–15 mg∙kg^(-1)∙day^(-1))and followed up for 2 years to evaluate the changes of symptoms,laboratory values and histological features.As the results indicated,fatigue and pruritus were obviously improved by UDCA,particularly in patients with mild or moderate symptoms.The alkaline phosphatase andγ-glutamyl transpetidase levels significantly declined at year 2 comparing to baseline values,with the most profound effects achieved in patients at stage 2.The levels of alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase significantly decreased whereas serum bilirubin and immunoglobulin M levels exhibited no significant change.Histological feature was stable in patients at stages 1–2 but still progressed in patients at stages 3–4.The biochemical response of patients at stage 2 was much better than that of patients at stages 3–4.These data suggest that,when treated in earlier stage,patients in long-term administration of UDCA can gain favorable results not only on symptoms and biochemical responses but also on histology.It is also indicated that later histological stage,bad biochemical response and severe symptom may be indicators of poor prognosis for UDCA therapy.Jiangyi Zhu Yongquan Shi Xinmin Zhou Zengshan Li Xiaofeng Huang Zheyi Han Jianhong Wang Ruian Wang Jie Ding Kaichun Wu Ying Han Daiming Fan 2013Frontiers of Medicine2013,7,2:0
