| 1 | Obesity and weight loss could alter the properties of adipose stem cells?显示文摘The discovery that adipose tissue represents an interesting source of multipotent stem cells has led to many studies exploring the clinical potential of these cells in cell-based therapies. Recent advances in understanding the secretory capacity of adipose tissue and the role of adipokines in the development of obesity and associated disorders have added a new dimension to the study of adipose tissue biology in normal and diseased states. Subcutaneous adipose tissue forms the interface between the clinical application of regenerative medicine and the establishment of the pathological condition of obesity. These two facets of adipose tissue should be understood as potentially related phenomena. Because of the functional characteristics of adipose stem cells, these cells represent a fundamental tool for understanding how these two facets are interconnected and could be important for therapeutic applications. In fact, adipose tissue stem cells have multiple functions in obesity related to adipogenic, angiogenic and secretory capacities. In addition, we have also previously described a predominance of larger blood vessels and an adipogenic memory in the subcutaneous adipose tissue after massive weight loss subsequent to bariatric surgery(ex-obese patients). | 2 | Proteomic analysis of gastric cancer and immunoblot validation of potential biomarkers显示文摘AIM:To search or and validate di erentially expressed proteins in patients with gastric adenocarcinoma.METHODS:We used two-dimensional gel electrophoresis and mass spectrometry to search or di erentially expressed proteins in patients with gastric adenocarcinoma.A set o proteins was validated with immunoblotting.RESULTS:We identified 30 di erent proteins involved in various biological processes:metabolism,development,death,response to stress,cell cycle,cell communication,transport,and cell motility.Eight proteins were chosen or urther validation by immunoblotting.Our results show that gastrokine-1,39S ribosomal protein L12(mitochondrial precursor),plasma cell-induced resident endoplasmic reticulum protein,and glutathione S-trans erase mu 3 were signi icantly underexpressed in gastric adenocarcinoma relative to adjacent non-tumor tissue samples.On the other hand,septin-2,ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 N,and transaldolase were significantly overexpressed.Translationally controlled tumor protein was shown to be di erentially expressed only in patients with cancer o the gastric cardia/esophageal border.CONCLUSION:This work presents a set o possible diagnostic biomarkers,validated or the first time.It might contribute to the e orts o understanding gastric cancer carcinogenesis. | Nina Kocevar Federico Odreman Alessandro Vindigni Snjezana Frkovic Grazio Radovan Komel | 2012 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2012,18,11: | 3 |
| 3 | 不同铁磁性粉末和酚醛树脂设计的软磁复合材料的比较(英文)显示文摘Soft magnetic composites(SMCs) were prepared from three different ferromagnetic powder particles: iron powder ASC 100.29, spherical Fe Si particles and vitroperm(Fe73Cu1Nb3Si16B7) flakes. Two types of hybrid organic–inorganic phenolic resins modified with either silica nanoparticles or boron were used to design a thin insulating layer perfectly covering the ferromagnetic particles. Fourier transform infrared(FTIR) spectrometry confirmed an incorporation of silica or boron into the polymer matrix, which manifested itself through an improved thermal stability of the hybrid resins verified by thermogravimetric-differential scanning calorimetry(TG-DSC) analysis. The core-shell particles prepared from the ferromagnetic powder particles and the modified hybrid resins were further compacted to the cylindrical and toroidal shapes for the mechanical, electrical and magnetic testing. A uniform distribution of the resin between the ferromagnetic particles was evidenced by scanning electron microscope(SEM) analysis,which was also reflected in a rather high value of the electrical resistivity. A low porosity and extraordinary high values of mechanical hardness and flexural strength were found in SMC consisting of the iron powder and phenolic resin modified with boron.
