| 1 | More anxious than depressed:prevalence and correlates in a 15-nation study of anxiety disorders in people with type 2 diabetes mellitus显示文摘Background Anxiety disorder, one of the highly disabling, prevalent and common mental disorders, is known to be more prevalent in persons with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) than the general population, and the comorbid presence of anxiety disorders is known to have an impact on the diabetes outcome and the quality of life. However, the information on the type of anxiety disorder and its prevalence in persons with T2DM is limited. Aims To assess the prevalence and correlates of anxiety disorder in people with type 2 diabetes in different countries. Methods People aged 18-65 years with diabetes and treated in outpatient settings were recruited in 15 countries and underwent a psychiatric interview with the Mini-International Neuropsychiatric Interview. Demographic and medical record data were collected. Results A total of 3170 people with type 2 diabetes (56.2% women;with mean (SD) duration of diabetes 10.01 (7.0) years) participated. The overall prevalence of anxiety disorders in type 2 diabetic persons was 18%;however, 2.8% of the study population had more than one type of anxiety disorder. The most prevalent anxiety disorders were generalised anxiety disorder (8.1%) and panic disorder (5.1%). Female gender, presence of diabetic complications, longer duration of diabetes and poorer glycaemic control (HbA1c levels) were significantly associated with comorbid anxiety disorder. A higher prevalence of anxiety disorders was observed in Ukraine, Saudi Arabia and Argentina with a lower prevalence in Bangladesh and India. Conclusions Our international study shows that people with type 2 diabetes have a high prevalence of anxiety disorders, especially women, those with diabetic complications, those with a longer duration of diabetes and poorer glycaemic control. | 2 | Oral immune regulation using colitis extracted proteins for treatment of Crohn's disease: Results of a phase Ⅰ clinical trial显示文摘AIM: To evaluate safety and possible efficacy of induction of oral immune regulation using colitis extracted proteins(CEP) in Crohn's disease (CD) subjects.METHODS: Ten CDs were treated orally with autologous CEP thrice weekly for 16 wk. Subjects were monitored for CDAI and IBDQ. Immune modulatory effect was assessed by T-lymphocyte FACS analysis, CEP-specific IFNγ ELISPOT assay and cytokine levels.RESULTS: Induction of oral immune regulation significantly ameliorated disease activity. All (10/10) subjects had clinical response (CDAI≤70) and 7/10 achieved clinical remission (CDAI≤150). Significant increase in mean IBDQ score was noted (134±9vs 164±12). No treatment-related adverse events were noted. High levels of CEP-specific IFNγ spot forming colonies were detected in five subjects prior to treatment and in all five, a marked decrease was observed. The CD4+/CDS+ lymphocyte ratio and peripheral NKT cell numbers increased significantly, in 7/10 and in 5/10 subjects, respectively. | 3 | Burial and thermal maturity modeling of the Middle Cretaceous-Early Miocene petroleum system,Iranian sector of the Persian Gulf显示文摘The Cretaceous Kazhdumi and Gurpi formations, Ahmadi Member of the Sarvak Formation, and Paleogene Pabdeh Formation are important source rock candidates of the Middle Cretaceous–Early Miocene petroleum system in the Persian Gulf. This study characterizes generation potential, type of organic matter, and thermal maturity of 262 cutting samples(marls and argillaceous limestones) from these rock units taken from 16 fields in the Iranian sector of the Persian Gulf. In addition, the burial and thermal histories of these source rocks were analyzed by one-dimensional basin modeling. Based on the total organic carbon and genetic potential values, fair hydrocarbon generation potential is suggested for the studied samples. Based on T max and vitrinite reflectance values, the studied samples are thermally immature to mature for hydrocarbon generation. The generated models indicate that studied source rocks are immature in central wells. The Gurpi and Pabdeh formations are immature and the Ahmadi Member and Kazhdumi Formation are early mature in the western wells. The Pabdeh Formation is within the main oil window and other source rocks are at the late oil window in the eastern wells. | 4 | Characteristics of the First Occurrence of Jurassic Petroleum in the Zagros Basin, Iran显示文摘After two well tests in the Asmari well#A, located in the North Dezful zone, it was concluded that in the Jurassic Mus/Alan/Neyriz and Upper Sargelu reservoirs, highly mature colorless oil and gas were trapped, including 4%-6% H2 S. The alternation of Garau shale and the Gotnia anhydrite seal was so efficient that it did not allow the upward migration of petroleum from Jurassic reservoirs to higher levels. Descriptive ratios, chromatograms, pick correlation and cross plots demonstrated that the oil and gas have been derived from a TOC-enriched sequence, consisting of the base of the Garau and the top of the Sargelu Formations. This highly organic matter-rich sequence is traceable as an oil shale in other parts of the North Dezful zone, such as the Gashun section. The petroleum accumulations in both reservoirs are identical, have the same maturity and the same source. Diagrams of δ13 C2 versus δ13 C3, δ13 C1 versus wetness of gas(C1/C2+C3) and δ13 C1 versus δDC1 suggest that the gas is derived from a highly mature source. There are indications of TSR effects on the original petroleum that could have changed the volumetric and isotopic composition of the oil and gas. | 5 | An evaluation of OSOM BV blue test in the diagnosis of bacterial vaginosis显示文摘Objective:To determine the prevalence of bacterial vaginosis(BV) in patients with vaginal discharge and evaluate the efficacy of OSOM BV blue test in diagnosis.Methods:OSOM BV blue test,a rapid diagnostic test based on the principle of detection of bacterial sialidase activity in vaginal fluid specimens was conducted.A total of 405 patients in the reproductive age group(15- 45 years) having vaginal discharge were included in the study along with 10 healthy age-matched controls.Two high vaginal swabs were collected aseptically from each patient.One swab was used to make smear for gram staining,and the other was for OSOM BV blue test.Amine test and vaginal pH test were taken as well.Results:The prevalence of bacterial vaginosis was 60.7%. OSOM BV blue test showed good efficacy,as compared with gram staining in diagnosing BV.The sensitivity and specificity of OSOM BV blue test were 97.6%and 97.5%respectively.Amsel’s criteria diagnosed 180(44.4%) cases of BV and had sensitivity and specificity of 67.1%and 90.6%respectively.Thus the performance of OSOM BV blue was better than the methods based on Amsel’s criteria.Conclusions:OSOM BV blue test is an efficacious bed side test,helpful in rapidly making an accurate diagnosis of BV in setups lacking laboratory facilities or expert microbiologists. | Fatima Shujatullah Haris M Khan Razia Khatoon Tamkin Rabbani Abida Malik | 2010 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2010,3,7: | 3 |

| 7 | Machine vision based expert system to estimate orange mass of three varieties显示文摘A key issue in fruit export is classification and sorting for acceptable marketing.In the present work,the image processing technique was employed to grade three varieties of oranges(Bam,Khooni and Thompson)separately.The reason for choosing this fruit as the object of the study was its abundant consumption worldwide.In this study,14 parameters were extracted:area,eccentricity,perimeter,length/area,blue value,green value,red value,width,contrast,texture,width/area,width/length,roughness,and length.Further,the ANFIS(Adaptive Network-based Fuzzy Inference System)method was utilized to estimate the orange mass from the data obtained using the image processing in three varieties.In ANFIS model,samples were divided into two sets,one with 70%for training set and the other one with 30%for testing set.The results of the present study demonstrated that the coefficient of determination(R2)of the best model for Bam,Khooni and Thompson measured 0.948,0.99,and 0.98,respectively.In addition,the results indicated that the estimation accuracy of the best model for Bam,Khooni and Thompson was measured as±3.7 g,±1.28 g,±3.2 g,respectively.This result was very satisfactory for the application of ANFIS to estimate the orange mass. | Hossein Javadikia Sajad Sabzi Hekmat Rabbani | 2017 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2017,10,2: | 2 |
| 8 | Assessment of Genetic Variation Within Indian Mustard (Brassica juncea) Germplasm Using Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA Markers显示文摘Genetic diversity among 45 Indian mustard (Brassica juncea L.) genotypes comprising 37 germplasm collections, five advance breeding lines and three improved cultivars was investigated at the DNA level using the random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) technique. Fifteen primers used generated a total of 92 RAPD fragments, of which 81 (88%) were polymorphic. Of these, 13 were unique to accession 'Pak85559'. Each primer produced four to nine amplified products with an average of 6.13 bands per primer. Based on pairwise comparisons of RAPD amplification products, Nei and Li's similarity coefficients were calculated to evaluate the relationships among the accessions. Pairwise similarity indices were higher among the oilseed accessions and cultivars showing narrow ranges of 0.77-0.99. An unweighted pair-group method with arithmetic averages cluster analysis based on these genetic similarities placed most of the collections and oilseed cultivars close to each other, showing a low level of polymorphism between the accessions used. However, the clusters formed by oilseed collections and cultivars were comparatively distinct from that of advanced breeding lines. Genetically, all of the accessions were classified into a few major groups and a number of individual accessions. Advanced breeding lines were relatively divergent from the rest of the accessions and formed independent clusters. Clustering of the accessions did not show any pattern of association between the RAPD markers and the collection sites. A low level of genetic variability of oilseed mustard was attributed to the selection for similar traits and horticultural uses. Perhaps close parentage of these accessions further contributed towards their little diversity.
