| 1 | Effect of heat input and filler metals on weld strength of gas tungsten arc welding of AISI 316 weldments显示文摘The present work investigates the effect of filler metals and heat input on weld bead geometry and mechanical properties of alloy316 welded by using GTAW.ER309 L,ER316 L and ERNi Cr Mo-3 filler metals,are applied to study their effect on the weldment.Weld defects are examined using radiographic testing.The mechanical properties of welds are evaluated through uniaxial testing,hardness measuring,and bending test.The mechanical properties and cooling rate decrease with increasing heat input.Tensile strength,yield stress and percentage elongation of weldments using three fillers are determined.Best results are obtained using ERNi Cr Mo-3.Besides,weld nugget area,cooling time and solidification time increases with increasing heat input.Finally,applying bending test on weld samples,cracks,tearing and surface defects are not observed. | Essam Ahmed Ramy Ahmed A EL-Nikhaily A R S Essa | 2020 | China Welding2020，29，1： | 7 |
| 2 | A randomized open-label trial of on-demand rabeprazole vs ranitidine for patients with non-erosive reflux disease显示文摘AIM:To compare the efficacy of the proton-pump inhibitor,rabeprazole,with that of the H 2-receptor antagonist,ranitidine,as on-demand therapy for relieving symptoms associated with non-erosive reflux disease(NERD).METHODS:This is a single center,prospective,randomized,open-label trial of on-demand therapy with rabeprazole(group A) vs ranitidine(group B) for 4 wk.Eighty-three patients who presented to the American University of Beirut Medical Center with persistent gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD) symptoms and a normal upper gastrointestinal endoscopy were eligible for the study.Patients in group A(n = 44) were allowed a maximum rabeprazole dose of 20 mg twice daily,while those in group B(n = 39) were allowed a maximum ranitidine dose of 300 mg twice daily.Efficacy was assessed by patient evaluation of global symptom relief,scores of the SF-36 quality of life(QoL) questionnaires,total number of pills used,and number of medication-free days.RESULTS:Among the 83 patients who were enrolled in the study,76 patients(40 in the rabeprazole group and 36 in the ranitidine group) completed the 4-wk trial.Baseline characteristics were comparable between both groups.After 4 wk,there was no significant difference in the subjective global symptom relief between the rabeprazole and the ranitidine groups(71.4% vs 65.4%,respectively;P = 0.9).There were no statistically significant differences between mean cumulative scores of the SF-36 QoL questionnaire for the two study groups(rabeprazole 22.40 ± 27.53 vs ranitidine 17.28 ± 37.06;P = 0.582).There was no significant difference in the mean number of pills used(rabeprazole 35.70 ± 29.75 vs ranitidine 32.86 ± 26.98;P = 0.66).There was also no statistically significant difference in the mean number of medication-free days between both groups.CONCLUSION:Rabeprazole has a comparable efficacy compared to ranitidine when given on-demand for the treatment of NERD.Both medications were associated with improved quality of life. | Abdallah A Kobeissy Jana G Hashash Faek R Jamali Assaad M Skoury Reham Haddad Sarah El-Samad Rami Ladki Rola Aswad Assaad M Soweid | 2012 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2012，18，19： | 4 |
| 3 | Two case reports of acute upper gastrointestinal bleeding from duodenal ulcers after Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery: Endoscopic diagnosis and therapy by single balloon or push enteroscopy after missed diagnosis by standard esophagogastroduodenoscopy显示文摘The diagnosis and opportunity for endoscopic therapy of gastric or duodenal lesions may be missed at esophagogastroduodenoscopy(EGD) because of technical difficulty in intubating at EGD the postoperatively excluded stomach and proximal duodenum in patients status post Roux-en-Y gastric bypass(RYGB). Two cases are reported of acute upper gastrointestinal bleeding 10 or 11 years status postRYGB, performed for morbid obesity, in which the EGD was non-diagnostic due to failure to intubate the excluded stomach and proximal duodenum, whereas subsequent push enteroscopy or single balloon enteroscopy were diagnostic and revealed 4-cm-wide or 5-mm-wide bulbar ulcers and even permitted application of endoscopic therapy. | 4 | Inflammatory bowel disease patient profiles are related to specific information needs: A nationwide survey显示文摘BACKGROUND Inflammatory bowel diseases(IBD) is a heterogenous, lifelong disease, with an unpredictable and potentially progressive course, that may impose negative psychosocial impact on patients.While informed patients with chronic illness have improved adherence and outcomes, previous research showed that the majority of IBD patients receive insufficient information regarding their disease.The large heterogeneity of IBD and the wide range of information topics makes a one-size fits all knowledge resource overwhelming and cumbersome.We hypothesized that different patient profiles may have different and specific information needs, the identification of which will allow building personalized computer-based information resources in the future.AIM To evaluate the scope of disease-related knowledge among IBD patients and determine whether different patient profiles drive unique information needs.METHODS We conducted a nationwide survey addressing hospital-based IBD clinics.A Total of 571 patients completed a 28-item questionnaire, rating the amount of information received at time of diagnosis and the importance of information, as perceived by participants, for a newly diagnosed patient, and for the participants themselves, at current time.We performed an exploratory factor analysis of the crude responses aiming to create a number of representative knowledge domains(factors), and analyzed the responses of a set of 15 real-life patient profiles generated by the study team.RESULTS Participants gave low ratings for the amount of information received at disease onset(averaging 0.9/5) and high ratings for importance, both for the newly diagnosed patients(mean 4.2/5) and for the participants themselves at current time(mean 3.5/5).Factor analysis grouped responses into six informationdomains.The responses of selected profiles, compared with the rest of the participants, yielded significant associations(defined as a difference in rating of >0.5 points with a P < 0.05).Patients with active disease showed a higher interest in work-disability, stress-coping, and therapy-complications.Patients newly diagnosed at age > 50, and patients with long-standing disease(> 10 years)showed less interest in work-disability.Patients in remission with mesalamine or no therapy showed less interest in all domains except for nutrition and long-term complications.CONCLUSION We demonstrate unmet patient information needs.Analysis of various patient profiles revealed associations with specific information topics, paving the way for building patient-tailored information resources. | Saleh Daher Tawfik Khoury Ariel Benson John R Walker Oded Hammerman Ron Kedem Timna Naftali Rami Eliakim Ofer Ben-Bassat Charles N Bernstein Eran Israeli | 2019 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2019，25，30： | 3 |
